Laurelai's brow climbed up to her hairline as she watched the speed of Lita's recovery. It certainly wasn't a meager supply of Health, and assuming that Lita had been careful not to draw too much there must be quite a large store.

That's definitely going to be useful. Handy to be able to heal without needing to spend a minute analyzing first, this mission seems more likely to leave corpses than injuries, might not have a lot of time handy to Reseal people.

"We need up-to-date information first." Laurelai began as she pulled out a small plate and started rummaging for food. "Get a view on what's happening in the city. If TUBA noticed something was off as well then the guilds may have started moving, and we can't dismiss the possibility that others might be working with PlasmaCore, or responsible for creating them."

She pulled a larger platter out and began stacking it with bread, cheese, and fruits before stacking the smaller plate with cookies, brownies and other pastries. One of the perks of living in the Alleys meant no shortages of baked goods. She took a sip of port along with a small bite from one of the cookies, letting the chocolatey taste mix with the richer flavour of the alcohol.

"Mmm. That should do." She said, taking a moment to savour it before offering the bowl to Lita. "Perhaps we could find one of the other guilds, we have a Lightweaver with us now so we might be able to blend in with some of them, find out what information they know."

First rule of spying, let someone else spy on dangerous people, then you can just spy on them.

The spren cackled. "We are willing to negotiate. Not be questioned."

Zokora nodded in agreement.

"What do you want for leaving this world, taking your creatures and whatever with you and never return?

She asked bluntly.

Lita took a cookie from the plate and bit off a sizable mouthfull. "Goo aia," she attempted, then frowned, swallowing rather too much cookie and coughing a bit. She cleared her throat and tried again. "Good idea." A sip of port smoothed out her vocal cords.

"Rusts where are you getting this stuff?" she pointed to the port. "That's the intelligence I'd like to gather today."

Lita took another - smaller - bite of cookie and grabbed the dessert plate and a few extra glasses before heading back into the study. She set them down on the table, swirling her port and thinking. "We've been given the go-ahead to work with TUBA should we desire, though I'm wondering if the Ghostbloods have more accurate information? They are assassins, surely they have at least some kind of spy network already in place, plus they're almost certainly going to be less..." Lita clasped her hands under her chin and widened her eyes in a parody of innocence, pouting her mouth, "bleeding-heart about all those poor innocents out there."

She sighed, flopping down into a chair, and looked over to the kandra. What was their name? KanMien? "You gave some kind of report on what's happening outside earlier. Where were you getting that information?"

KanMien smiled, and held up their phone, images of the mist visible. "It's not much," they said, "but I do have few sources in the city. I don't really have much info though, but there was talk about a riot at the government building, as well as a rough location of the epicenter." Their look turned thoughtful. "As for the Ghostbloods, I'm not sure. I don't really trust most of them. Though from what I remember, Max and Althea might be willing to work together, they're not that bad for Ghostbloods."

They can. They've kind of forgotten about him though, and they probably figure that he won't be interested in helping, given the history between them, and they'd also think he probably doesn't have much information.

Mike would probably try to run away :P He's panically afraid of the DA

And he has no clue about what is going on. I was only curious if KanMien knew about him in general.

So Exam week has hit like a truck and I won't be able to post anywhere near as frequently as usual. Itiah, you get control of my canton forces until next Wednesday. Grey Knight, you get my black crusade chapter and control of Silphio. Kerrial from the seven day war survived and is a part of that chapter so feel free to flesh out him and the rest of the chapter members.

Lita peered at KanMien's phone, then nodded. The devices still confused her a bit, but then, most things were confusing these days.

"Oh, I wasn't suggesting we trust them," Lita sniffed, taking a sip of port. "But if we can get our hands on their intel? That I would trust. They're a nest of assassins - they won't want to be going in blind on faulty information."

"Maybe," KanMien said. "But it's getting access to that info that's difficult. And we also have make sure that the intel we get isn't wrong, just because it's their intel doesn't mean someone changed a few bits to kill off a couple of their co-workers. I mean, we are talking about the Ghostbloods."

The spren froze, his head stopping as a wolf-lion.

"You do not have access to that much payment, assassin."

Zokora laughed, waved its words away with a gestures of her left hand. Payment. The spren was ridiculous. He had no idea what they could pay and what not.

"Try again. Tell me what you want, and I tell you if we can get it done."

Her eyes focused on him, turned sharp. The wolf-lion mixture looked scary, wrong, but she accepted it. There were strange beings around.

"Unless, you don't really intent to negotiate. In that case you go back to Shadesmar and stay there."

She made an inviting gesture, as if she was opening a door.

"I'll gladly escort you there. That's no problem. You know what we want. Tell us what you want in exchange, or we can stop this here and now."

"True enough." Lita frowned, thinking. "Perhaps they're already working with another group? Maybe someone else has already hired them to assess the growing chaos. We could look into their communiques."

KanMien tilted their head, thinking. "Possible," they said, "but it seems unlikely. Given what's going on right now and how sudden it was I don't think anyone would have had time to hire them, and it would likely cost a lot as well. The only ones with the resources would be the larger guilds, and they'd likely send people of their own to investigate. Though again, we would want info on their investigations as well, so that shouldn't be such a big issue. It might be best to stay away from the Ghostbloods though, or at least go through official channels. If any guild would spot an infiltrator it would be them. TUBA will have information, but given the presence of Sudiov it might be ... problematic to attain said information. I'd say our best bet would be the precursors. They don't have that many powerful troops, but they're all over town, so they'd likely have a fair bit of information. The underground groups might have some interesting things as well, but I'm not aware of their locations, or on how to best get the information."

You know, this is offensive.

We kill everyone else!

@Vargo Seldon

It unfroze, a chasmfiend face appearing, then a human, then a dragon, and on and on.

"We want access to the full knowledge of the Dark Alley, the Ghostbloods, and TUBA."

The corners of the mouth of the face, a shark, turned upward in an eerie way.

"Can you provide that?"

"Me?"

She asked and laughed again.

"Don't be ridiculus. I'm just the assistant. Let me inform my boss. That price is over what I am allowed to grant."

Quickly she typed a message to Lusk, detailing what PlasmaCore wanted. No chance. They would never pay it. Nor would the DA and TUBA agree. But if she managed to play for time their forces had more time to evacuate, more time to infiltrate the building.

If we want to infiltrate, how do you want to do this? Give us a detailed description up front, so that we don't mess too much with your ideas? I looks like Guns n' Ninjas might try to do that...

Not really... more a guild leader that goes inactive for longer periods regularly...

Lusk got the message from Zokora and froze. He laughed a bit. Full access to information on TUBA, the DA and the Ghostbloods?

Tell him no, he texted back. Storming no. This spren really overestimates how much we’re willing to pay, tell him we could probably trap him in a gemstone and torture him for info but for once we’re doing it the normal way.

He paused. Then sighed. Actually, don’t tell him that. We’re here for diplomacy. Make a counter-offer, way lower than whatever rust the spren’s thinking of.

Deteca pulled out her phone as it vibrated in her pocket. She narrowed her eyes at it, then texted back, da abom?

The young man stared at the message, trying to understand what she was saying. Abbreviation was a foreign language to him. Was it "da" as in "the" and was "abom" some shorthand for a code? Then he chuckled to himself as realization dawned on him. DA abomination.

Maybe. he replied, hoping he'd understood correctly and wouldn't have to explain that he was incredibly socially inept.

He looked back at his work, sighed, then put it into a folder. The man picked up his phone again. Do we have any record of abominations absorbing people before?

Far as he was aware the answer was no - he'd spent quite a bit of time researching abominations to determine how much damage different ones could cause if they trampled through a bakery.

Morph watched, as hydrogen, from the sky, high above PlasmaCore.

They had done something to the city. He wouldn't work for them, at least not yet. They might be able to pay well, but they might also destroy the Alleyverse.

And that wouldn't be good for business.
