It was about to reply, when the door was smashed through. A pack of creatures stepped in behind a bone white knight, fog pouring across the floor. They rushed towards them as Aln dove behind her desk. Aln! It sent. This is important. Are those things people?

Depends on your exact definition of people, but they're not human, and not sapient either. They have some intelligence, but not to the point of a human being. Probably closer to a smart animal for the Barghest, and parshmen for the Executors.

Everest looked around. There was a table between the monster things and her. “Aln. Go to the courtyard and try to escape.” She whispered the words so softly no one could hear her but Aln, who she figured had excellent hearing. “We can hold them off, I think this has to do with your memories.” Everest thought for a moment. “Write the biggest  events of this other reality down. Give them to someone so the information can’t be lost, I think it’s important.” With that, Everest leaped over the table, activating her light line and latching it on to the table. Then, with a burst of strength she hurled it at the creatures.

The Executor turned around slowly as the table smashed into it, knocking it to the floor. Slowly it started getting back up, the few additional cracks in its armour quickly mending itself. The Barghests now went through the door as well, leaping into the large room, looking around and sniffing the air, apparently looking for their prey. The Executor turned towards Everest, slowly starting to walk towards him. The armour around its hands increased in size, and a large kite-shield grew on its left hand.

Cursing, the man jumps out of the way of the table- luckily, he hadn't managed to cover that section with a Line of Forbiddenance yet, but he manages to close off the rough semicircle, making a impassable barrier of force around the door.

Alvyer is going to try to run back into the shelves and the library proper (I hope I understood the floor plan like)

Aln crouched beneath her desk, breathing hard, staring at the grain of the wood. From her hiding spot, she could see nothing of the ongoing battle, and of course she could not hear a thing. Nevertheless, she felt a shudder resound through the floor at the impact of some heavy object, and knew that the fighting must be fierce. Oh storms, she thought desperately, why are we being attacked? It's just a library. We're harmless. Unless this has something to do with -

Right. Right. Sorting through her confused memories with  some difficulty, she finally seized on the information she needed. "Don't let the saliva of the Barghests touch you," she called, hoping that she could be heard over whatever noises were being made. "It's a type of sedative. And... it lives in the dark, so its eyesight is lacking." That last point gave her an idea, and she carefully opened the drawer beside her to begin rooting through it. Eventually, her hands found what she was looking for - a flashlight. Hopefully shining that in a creature's eyes would buy her a moment to run. For now, though, she simply held it defensively before her and began to wrack her brain for information on the Executors.

The thing was right. Everest had to run. But to leave people who had little chance of defending themselves? No, she could not run yet. As the armored guy started molding his arm, she did the first thing that came to mind.

 she leaned down activating her abrasion fabrial. It was running out of starlight and would stop working soon. She slicked the whole floor with the abrasion fabrial. making it as slippery as ice. Luckily for her, she was a ice skater.

What was that human doing?

Well, Alvyer found out soon when he fell on his face. It was like the frozen lakes in the deep winter on his planet, slippery and impossible to get a grip on. He had played on them a few times as a child but it had been years.

Alvyer grabbed a bookshelf and used that to shove himself further into the back of the building, trying to get out of sight of the fight.

He curses as he slips forward, hitting his head on his own Line of Forbiddance's barrier, accompanied by a large thump. He curses for a second time before his body splays face-down. He tries to stand up, but almost immediately falls backwards. He gives up and kicks the barrier, making him fly away from the door. Unfortunately, he misjudges quite how little friction there is, which causes him to fly to the other side of the room and hit his shoulder hard on the opposing wall.

Python dropped it's cloak as the floor slicked. It propelled itself off the ground, wrapping a coil around a light fixture. It grabbed two of the furry not-people and lifted them up, ropes constricting around their throats.

Everest stood, and the top thing seemed to be giving her backup, though  the rest of the group seemed to be sliding around on the slippery floor with no real aim of where to go. She winced as the plumber guy hit his shoulder on the back of the room, causing some books to fall over. "Sorry!" Everest said over the noise of some furry creatures being strangled by a rope, her life was so weird. She slid under a chair, propelling it forward and towards the creatures. The bigger one would be a problem, but the smaller ones- they could handle them. "Anyone have any stormlight?" Everest asked in panic, the fabrial had been broken when she had gotten it, using stormlight far faster than the average Abrasion fabrial.

"I'm wondering why the floor is slicked in the first place!"
He's given up on standing up and is just laying on his back.

The Barghests and Executor started moving forwards, when suddenly they all fell down. They slipped and slid over the floor, standing up or even moving about properly becoming impossible. At the same time a rope came flying out of nowhere, starting to strangle two of the Barghests, who started clawing at their throats, trying to remove the rope as they slowly got weaker from the lack of oxygen.

The Executor stopped moving, not wasting energy trying to get up, while the Barghests were making wild movements, trying to somehow launch themselves at the enemies, but failing.

Somehow the Benny Hill theme started playing and Aylitha grew an avatar just to facepalm.

"Well," Everest said, annoyed "Ever heard of abrasion?" Everest and the rope where the only people standing (or doing whatever ropes do) and so she'd essentially made it so only the could fight. It was quite fun, actually.

Everest slid over to the lamps, taking the stormlight out of the lamps and into the fabrial. She skated over to the furry things, helping the rope kill them.

Python dropped the two creatures as Everest slid over; if they weren't dead yet, she could take care of them. It glanced at the attackers, all of wich were on the floor. The knight in the bone-white armor had stopped moving, but the rest were still struggling to get up. Deciding that the knight seemed the greatest threat, Python grabbed a chair and slammed it down on the knight, soaring through the air after it.

Everest dug in her satchel, fishing out two knives. She threw one of them at a creature that appeared to still be alive despite the rope's strangling and threw another at another creature. The knife missed, going off course and nailing another in the eye. Oh well, it would probably still kill it. "Hey rope thing!" she called as splinters of wood flew in the air "Need backup?"
