Ok so, here we go! The first part will take place at this space station in orbit of Corislain, and then we'll move to Vienia.

Worldbuilding dump:

Spoiler

The System: Known as Jalien by some of its inhabitants, this system contains three large gas giants, one within the habitable zone. This gas giant, or rather, its moons, contain life. The largest moons(Those with an atmosphere) have amazingly diverse environments and different life forms, some intelligent, sprung up on them.

Corislain: The largest moon by a few kilometers, Corislain is has been entirely hollowed out to create a settlement within the inner regions of the sphere. The settlement is composed of several layers, each layer smaller than the last. The buildings are constructed on the inner edge of the spherelike layers, and gravity is provided through an amazing amount of centrifugal force. This artificial gravity weakens as one gets closer to the center of the moon, and the inner layer has no gravity whatsoever.

The moon is, in fact, entirely artificial, and a combination of several metal-rich asteroids into one huge mass. This project was completed many years ago by a coalition of  megacorpations that wanted to test the feasibility of building a artificial moon. Modern lore is unsure where the coalition originated, only that they came from out of the system. Today, the moon is run by Trident Holdings, the last remnant of the coalition that constructed the moon. However, Trident is only in control of the life support systems, and other base functions of the moon. The people are ruled by a number of factions that claim various layers of the moon.

Layers:

Outer Shell: An airless plane where almost no construction can occur, as it would be thrown off by the spinning of the moon. The only construction on the outer face of the moon are at the north and south poles. Here, the centrifugal force is at a minimum and special spacecraft can dock, allowing access the many stations in orbit of Corislain.

Layer 1: This layer, directly opposite the Outer Shell, has the highest gravity, and therefore is a prime area for food production. The high level of gravity also makes this prime real estate, which only the richest can afford. Most of the layer is under the control of the FGC corporation (Fcorp) which produces food for most of the moon. However, two areas at the North and South poles are under the jurisdiction of Trident Holdings. Trident uses these areas as ports for their shuttles, and access the inner layers of Corislain.

Layer 2: This layer is city-like, similar the to 4 layers below it. Here, though, there is some semblance of order. A central government manages the society there, keeping criminals out through force, and brutally enforcing laws. It may not be a peaceful life, but the promise of safety has lured many people here.

Layer 3-5: These three layers are very similar in construction and are controlled by a crime syndicate known as The Watchers. They’re rife with corruption, filth and evil, all hidden under the gaudy shine of casinos and clubs. The three layers are known as ‘The Rift’

Layer 3 could be considered the best of the three, having clean streets, and somewhat safe housing, as long as one pays the protection fees. Located here are the high ranking Watchers and their synchpates.

Layer 4 is the home of the embezzlers, conmen, and schemers. Casinos are common here, along with clubs, parlours, and gaudy hotels.

Layer 5 is the quintessential slum. Roving gangs, trash on the streets, and tentments cover this depressing city.

Layer 6: This layer, sitting directly beneath the slums of Layer 5, is a massive industrial district. Huge rows of factories compete with each other for space, and depressing company towns spread in what space is left. These factories are owned by the rich on Layer 1, and they are bought and sold very frequently. The workers and unaffected by these in ownership, and their monotonous lives continue regardless of who pays them.

Layer 7: The last of the layers where normal people live, this layer houses an odd community. The layer is under the control of Trident Holdings, and they employ everyone on this layer. A mixture of manufactories, office buildings, and high rise housing cover this small layer.

The Core: This area, which has no gravity, is the housing for all the life support and power systems. A massive fusion reactor sits in the center of the core, surrounded by various life support equipment.

Transport between the layers is accomplished by a system of massive elevators located at the north and south poles of the moon. These elevators are managed by Trident Holdings, and are neutral ground for all factions.

Trident Holdings Spacecraft listings

Capital type ships:

Neptune class intersatellite carriers: The workhorse of the Trident fleet, these huge ships carry cargo and personnel between orbital stations. The Neptune class is one of the oldest designs in the Trident fleet, and stretches back to the time when Corislain was still being constructed. The design of these ships has been improved since then, but they still retain many of the original designs.

Neptune class ships are equipped with extensive cargo facilities, as well as moderate defences.

Delphin class passenger cruiser: A new design, placed into production fairly recently. Its main use is for tourist cruises to exotic locations, but in a pinch, they can be used as transport or scout vehicles, although this rarely happens. The Delphin class is also the only capital ship class that can be purchased from Trident.

These craft have minimal defences and carry only a few luxury shuttles for use by their passengers.

Poseidon class heavy transport: This class of craft lies somewhere in between the Neptune and Delphin classes, but it serves a very different purpose than both of them. Neptune class craft are modular, allowing for each ship to be changed to fit a mission’s needs. Usually, they are equipped with extensive docking and scientific facilities, for the purpose of exploring a new planetoid. The second most common design includes large logistics and cargo facilities, allowing for the direction of large-scale exoplanetary operations to be directed from it. The Neptune class can also be outfitted as a warship, with large weapon mountings and fighter docks. This version is usually used to quell pirate threats.

Smaller class ships:

Leviathan: A large shuttle, able to be equipped with various modules that change its focus. This shuttle is fairly common among those who own their own vehicle, and is favored among traders and explorers.

It can hold passenger cabins or cargo bays, or both, based on what the owner chooses. The maximum firepower is quite a bit, but to mount the max number of weapons, one must remove the exterior shielding.

Kraken: A heavy, long range fighter, prefered by mercenary and raider groups. When used by these groups, it’s almost always modified aftermarket, with extra weapons, armor, and a more powerful, but more dangerous reactor.

Jorman: A mid class transport shuttle, usually used to transport people between stations, capital ships, and moons. This ship is the most produced spacecraft in the Jilan system.

Squid: A light, short range fighter with a powerful arsenal, used to defend spacecraft and stations.

Trident Holdings ground equipment:

Javelin Power Armor:

A multi use suit of protective equipment, easily modified for use by Trident security forces, exploratory units, construction workers, and the EVA corps on board Trident ships. A less advanced version is sold by Trident for use by non-company groups. The Trident version is able to link with cyber users, allowing for unparalleled use of the armor in many situations.

The suits are usually personalized by their users, painting the plating and adding small ortemantations.

Halberd HGX:

A heavy modular exosuit able to be used in many situations. The suit can be equipped with weapons, lifting equipment, mining tools, or various other equipment. The exosuit, like most Trident ground equipment, is able to link with cyber users, allowing the pilot to push the exosuit beyond what is usually considered normal.

It’s not uncommon for Trident pilots to modify their suits on their own, adding modules they designed themselves, as well as ortemmeting the exterior.

(I might design some giant robots later. We’ll see)

Cybernetics:

Jalien has two forms of cybernetics, Integration and Augmentation.

Integration: The more common of the two, it allows closer communication with technology, such as ships, ground equipment, and computers. It consists of several implanted groups of nanotech that allow direct communication with equipment. Integration uses the nervous system to transmit messages to and from the brain. Most of the time, a group located in the fingers allows one to access equipment simply by touching a communication panel. As cybernetics becomes more advanced, experimental systems have begun to include similar equipment to physiological augmentation, but this equipment is extremely rare, and is only equipped on a few individuals by the Trident Research and Development Department,

Argumentation: This type of cybernetics is much rarer than Integration. It can be divided into two groups. Physical Augmentation and Psychological Augmentation. Physical Augmentation consists of exterior nanotech placements that enhance one's physical attributes. These usually appear as plating that appears to be growing out of the enhanced areas of the body. Psychological augmentation involves hefty nanotech placements in the skull to give the user the ability to hack into and take control of other cybernetics. Oddly enough, this equipment can work on those with biomanipulations similar to it.  This form of cybernetics is slowly becoming more common as more and more people are equipped with cybernetic equipment.

Cybernetic users, (known as ‘Cybers’) fall into two categories. The first category are specific personnel of Trident Holdings, who use Trident cyber equipment to help with their various assignments. The other categoryare criminals and pirates. Their cyber equipment is bootleg, based on Trident’s but falling far short of it.

Gender: Female

Age: 26

Modifications(If any): Experimental integration that replicates psychological augmentations, along with the usual benefits of integration.

Occupation(If any): Trident Holdings security elite.

Skills: Very good fighter, skilled with most gun types, and ok at hand to hand. Extremely adept at using power armor (This may not seem like a skill, but it definitely is) Has had cybernetics for quite a while and is good at using it to her advantage. Ok at piloting an exosuit, but definitely not a master.

Weaknesses: Gets occasional headaches from her modifications, not good at using the experimental part of her cybernetics.

Equipment: Javelin power armor, assault rifle, pistol, a combat knife, sometimes carries a combat shotgun.

Appearance: Tall, leanly muscled, with a mane of purple hair running down her head. Cyber tattoos all over her body. When not wearing power armor she wears a Trident uniform.

Personality: Does what her job requires, she could be considered a bit cruel by some. She has a pretty dark sense of humor, which comes along with her job.

History: Born to a pair of core workers in Corislain, Yera grew up in the inner layer, almost never leaving. As she grew older, she became obsessed with getting out of the moon altogether and into space. She ended up joining the security forces training program and become an elite recruit, training with power armor. She became a cyber the day she graduated the program, an elite rite of passage. After a few years of looking dangerous at various orbital stations, her unit ended up as part of an experimental cybernetics program by the R&D department. They were given a new system that replicated the effects of psychological augmentation. For the last few years, she has done security detail for various expeditions on other moons.

Yera looked out the window at the large Neptune class carrier hanging in space outside. It would be loading cargo bound for some of the outer stations. She turned around, looking back into the station. Several groups of civilians would be coming up to the station from Corislain today, to be prepared for the mission to Vienia later this month. She frowned to herself. The board had decided to bring some super soldiers from GeneCorp along with them on the mission, as well as some other various people that might be useful on the mission. She groaned to herself as she mag-walked to the briefing room.

Reed followed The Big Boss through the station. Apparently, he was meeting up with a buyer today. He liked to bring Reed along as Reed was really the brains behind the gang. Though, he didn't let the other gang members notice. It would draw too much attention. Something he had to avoid on all costs. The Big Boss stopped suddenly and Reed stumbled to avoid bumping in to him. "Wait here," The Big Boss said. "Keep watch." Then he walked to a nearby alley where Reed could see a dark figure waiting.

♪Another little shot down the darkened hall,♪

Another try, now time to stand tall

Just try again, just one more try!

And I swear,

One day you’ll fly.

Abel tapped his foot rhythmically on the chrome beneath him, his mouth curling to mouth the lyrics of the song playing through his headphones. His head bobbed up and down with the beat, and his hands moved with the melody.

It took a moment for him to realise he had a place to be. Looking around, he tried finding the ‘briefing room’ he’d been told about, trying to not to be carried away by the music. It was another human-made one he’d found, and it was great. The melody had a nice high pitched tone he wanted to experiment with.

Finally he skipped over to what looked it matched what he was looking for.

Yera approached the central part of the station, a rotating wheel where the tourists could be comfortable. Yera herself had spent most of her life in low or zero gravity, so using magnet boots to walk was nothing new. She made her way over to the ladder leading to the wheel.

Now came the tricky part. She locked both boots into place and reached up to a bar above her head. She pulled on it and the boots detached from her normal footwear, which were also boots, although these were shiny and black, as opposed to the matte grey of the magnet boots. She swung so she crouched on what, until just second ago, had been the ceiling and let go. She stood up and grabbed the boots, from the new ceiling and placed them in a nearby locker. She closed the door and touched the control panel.

a cool voice spoke in her head:

Passcode required to lock door.

Ah she thought, How wonderfully blunt

That is not an acceptable response.

Ok then, Passcode: Lockstep.

Passcode 'Lockstep' approved.

Well, at least this system had a voice. Some of the less advaced systems would require you to give a response with no promtinh whatsoever. She smiled to herself and slid down the ladder into the wheel. She quickly made her way to the briefing room, noting that some of the civililians had already arrived.

This character will be my Canton Head character. In this RP the Canton is just starting up and it's a lot more mercenary like. Feel free to hire me at any time! Also are we going to add Cytonics from DE and Skyward elements when the spoiler ban is lifted?

Oh, oh woah oh oh,

Don’t you know, don’t you know?

Little bird, this place is not your home.

Abel saw someone enter through the room he was in and he waved, his feet tapping in a beat to the new song that was as playing. This one didn’t quite have the same level of melody of the last one, and the beginning was iffy, but the chorus was stuck in his head and that was something Abel could learn.

“Hey,” he said, standing up to greet the lady that’d entered. He spoke with a standard city-slicker Corislain accent. “This the briefing room I was told about?”

A few things:

Firstly, power armor can't be collapsed into a small area without significant decreaces in strength and power. The armor couldn't be as advanced as it is (or even as advanced as stand Tridennt armor) without being much bulkier.

Most of the enhancements would work, however.

The other problem is the laser rifle. Laser weapoms exist, but they aren't handheld. They're usually mounted to ships or ground vehicles, as they require a fair bit of power to operate.

Oter than that, it's a good character.

A man woke up in his bed. Was it his bed? He didn't know. He didn't know who he was. He didn't know where he was. He looked down at his left hand and saw this tattooed on his wrist: K.I. 11-87-64 .--- .- -- . ... --- -. / -.- -. --- .-- .-.. . ..., which continued around in a loop to the other side of his wrist. K.I. My name? Am I K? Yes, he thought, I am K. K flipped himself out of bed in one smooth motion, something he had never done before. Maybe.

K staggered out of the room he woke in. He decided that he needed to find information on where he was. K walked down the hallway until he found a microphone, labelled 'Speak'.

"Where are we?"

"Longpoint Station," a voice responded.

Longpoint Station... Nope, never heard of that place before...

Yera chuckled. "No. I'm definately not in charge. I'm part of this mission's security team. I'm here to keep all you civilians safe. Vienia is a hostile enviroment. There are predators that don't take too kindly to our encroachment on their territory. Through, if you didn't know that, I'm unsure why you signed up." she smiled earnestly at him.

Maybe he stumbled into the room or someone assumed he was a civilian and directed him there.
