This man was like the Wolf, who thought he was strong but hunted the weak rabbits. But weak prey was always easier. Wilhelm didn’t say anything. Nature would take its course. And by Harmony, he really needed to stop thinking of ‘prey’ and ‘predator’.
+ZincAboutIt
Renata backed towards the main room again, still keeping a wary eye out at the top of the stairs. There was a part of her that wished to do something, to intervene, but fear held her back. This wasn't her business, and it wasn't her fight. She could see the man in the coats hanging back as well, watching. Clever, she thought. He's odd but clever. Cleverer than the others. It was almost comical. Here they were, likely all set to head out on a doomed expedition, and already someone wanted to start killing. She watched Hellbent brandish his shardblade at Lizanne, looking almost like the Thrill was upon him. No, Renata thought, paying careful attention to his face. He enjoys bloodshed all on his own. It wasn't a comforting thought. She glanced back up the stairs again, silently willing Nitinyas to descend the steps. If they were all going to die, she'd rather it was later than sooner.
kenod
Quote Ark, please don't kill Lizanne. I'm not interested in your character killing other characters for actions he did, especially before the actual plot has even started.
Voidus
The entire house seemed to silently shake for a moment, a few trails of loose dust trickled down from the ceiling and the glassware that had been left on tables rattled for a few moments before the tremor ceased. As the vibrations faded, a faint sound began to be heard throughout the house. A sourceless, high pitched whining sound that seemed to vary in volume between nearly inaudible and a low scream. The creaking sounds from the stairway paused for a moment before being replaced by a series of loud thuds and protesting squeals from the old wooden structure. A young man, the doorman who had greeted them all earlier, came bounding down the stairs, a look of panic on his face. He jumped the last few stairs from the third floor landing onto the second and was spinning to jump down to the first floor when he stopped, looking at the array of people still upon the stairs. His eyes flickered to each of them and then towards the Shardblade that was still drawn. His eyes widened even further in alarm as he began to call out. "Doctor!? There's a little bit of a situation here!"

There's a little bit of a situation here!" “Oh, it’ll be over soon, one way or another,” Wilhelm muttered, and then walked to the doorman, and smiled at him in his best not-creepy face, but with an eyepatch, crooked yellow teeth, and blood around your mouth there was so much you could do. “Hullo, we were wondering where the doctor is? And that little squeal I heard? Is that another one of your fancy ettmetals?” The inventions these maskless came up with still astounded him. Of course, Wilhelm didn’t have a mask either, after it was taken away.

+ZincAboutIt
"Kelek," Renata swore, retreating from the staircase until her back hit the wall. It sounded as though the building itself was wailing and creaking, ready to break apart. The young doorman stood at the top of the staircase, eyes wild, looking nearly as scared as Renata felt. Something has happened, she thought. Something wrong. Renata glanced back through the main room, where a few of the guests were still lingering. Should she run for it? Break out through the front? A part of her knew that wouldn't be happening. The only way out was through.
+Sorana
Lizanne flinched when the blade easily cut through the metal next to her. "Thank you." She smiled quickly at Lisa and the other girl, whose name she had somehow missed and then looked back to the man standing in front of her. If he had aimed for her head - she straightened her back and forced herself to meet his eyes. "Because I'm the only one of all of you who knows how an edible plant looks like. Or how to slaughter an animal." She told him calmly, her voice quavering only a bit. They both knew, that he could kill her easily, she had no weapon, nor did she knew how to fight. And he had a shardblade. Even someone like her had heard of a shardblade. "We should go up there and take a look. Or we leave." @Silva @I think I am here. @Ark1002 @kenod @ZincAboutIt

But he considered whether he wanted to share that right now, and his hand dropped. “Why take a look up there when we have this man right here,” he put a hand on the shoulder of the doorman and smiled at him again.

Maybe people in this world didn’t like their shoulders getting touched. He wondered about the other world, the one he would explore. Well, all he’d been doing until now was exploring, how could this be any different?

+ZincAboutIt
Quote I think Bean may be gone for a bit, unless I misread something on the PM. But I do recall him saying he'd be gone for a week. However, based on his previous posts in here it seemed like Bean's character was *inside* the tower in his own headcanon, having walked in and beaten someone with a stick (?) I'll admit I wasn't following his character closely @Voidus
Voidus
Quote That was my interpretation too, but I think @Gancho Libre was implying that they were outside the tower. I guess it's up to Gancho to canonize his positioning.

Voidus
Quote I guess I'll just assume that they're currently out of sight regardless so we can continue moving things along. The doorman looked at all of them, wide eyed, his gaze flickered from the one who had been holding a Shardblade, to the one with blood crusted around his face, to the one asking him questions. Beads of sweat began trickling down his scalp as his eyes continued darting around like a scared rabbit trying to find somewhere safe to rest. He eventually settled for staring at the floor nervously, with occasional glances behind him back up the stairway. "Ettmetal?" He said, addressing Wilhelm's question first. "I'm not sure if it uses... I mean I don't really know that much about... You're not supposed to be up here you know?" His voice tilted upwards at the end and he seemed as uncertain of his own words as he was the entire situation. As he spoke the high pitched screeching seemed to fade back into silence once more and several loud sounds of metal against metal took its place, this time echoing down from the top of the staircase. The doorman spared a glance back for the door and seemed to slump in relief as some of his tension faded. "Just some small issues." He said uncertainly, now turning to Lizanne. "But, I believe everything has been resolved. No need to panic, nothing wrong anymore." He seemed to be trying to reassure himself more than any of them.

"But, I believe everything has been resolved. No need to panic, nothing wrong anymore." Renata slipped her pen out from behind her ear and flipped open her little notebook, scribbling down what had just occurred. "What is going on up there?" she called from beside the wall, fear leaking into her voice and turning it slightly shrill. Renata cleared her throat, putting a little more substance behind her words. "Not a moment ago it sounded like this place was ready to rip apart. You expect us to simply stand around without asking any more questions?"

Why would Wilhelm think that? The doorman was a doorman, nothing appetising or to be gained from by eating. He was a human. They all were. “It’s okay,” Wilhelm said in his standard accent. “You do not know the answers, that is to be expected. But do you know when the doctor will be back?”

Kidpen
Tish backed into a corner as everything happened. She certainly wasn't going to be trying to go up to where all of the "thunder" is. Those who did probably have a broken sense of self preservation. Backing into a corner, she was almost tempted to slip out when someone summoned a Shardblade. Soon though one of the professionals showed up, and he seemed to have it all handled. It would probably be fine. Nothing to worry about. Voidus
The doorman began looking from one to the other as they questioned him, then back up the stairs a little nervously. "Um.. yes I'm sure you have questions, but the Doctor... You're not supposed to be here." He stammered out, beginning to nervously move down the staircase and attempt to herd them back towards the lounging area. "Everything should be fine, it'll just be another minute." As he took his next step he stumbled. His foot seemed to sink through the step that he had placed it on, the wood seeming to disperse into mist under the pressure. His eyes widened in confusion for a moment before he pitched forward, beginning to tumble down the staircase. Around them all the house began to vibrate once more, and this time a continuous low peal could be heard, the thunder-sound was lower than before but it continued to roll as the house continued to shake. A few logs in the fireplace began to spill out onto the carpeted floor, but before anything else could catch alight, these too disappeared into mist.
+ZincAboutIt
Renata's eyes widened as the flaming logs tumbling out of the hearth puffed away into mist. "Storms," she whispered, watching as the young doorman fell foeward on the stairs when one of the steps also turned into cloudy air. "Oh storms!" She should have run for it, should have taken the risk. As the tower rumbled and groaned, Renata spotted one of the younger girls cowering near a wall. She darted over, snagging the girl's wrist and tugging her back into the arch of the hallway beneath the crossbeam. "I don't know what's happening," she said over the low groan of stone and iron and wood, "but if it's anything like a Highstorm we'll want all the stability we can get. If the house comes down, we might survive it here." @Kidpen
+Sorana
Lizanne froze for a moment, tried to grasp what was happening. The steps turning into air, the logs, the whole thing was falling down. "She's right. You should come." She told Lisa and then hobbled over to Renata as fast as she could. The crossbeam might offer additional safety. Might. A cellar would be better, but the only one who might know was the doorman, and there was chance she'd leave the spot here to ask him. "Did you see some stairs leading downward?" She asked Renata, doubting that she missed something like that, but you never knew. @kenod @ZincAboutIt
