I can increase my endurance and strength, my senses, push and pull on metal, and mess with people's emotions a bit. Jamie told me I could do more, but I have no idea what." Ayalin shrugged. "How long have you been here?"

Mess with people’s emotions. Rob clenched his jaw, hardened his expressions. He wasn’t sure to what degree Aya could affect emotions, but he didn’t want to find out. She must have been like those others that had come into the house, with their varied abilities. Except... Aya seemed to have a lot of them.

“A little more than a year and a half, now,” Rob said idly, his mind still on her powers. How many unknown powers were there in the world if it wasn’t limited to just surgebinding? A small part of him felt worried at that. A smaller, darker part felt threatened. The odd, dark, voidbringer sphere in his pocket, the one he’d almost forgot about, pulsed.

He turned to Aya. “Have you sparred with someone in here, yet? If you enjoy combat, we’ve got plenty of space and training weapons, if you know how to use them.”

Leona led Fadran upstairs. She pointed to the third door on the left. "You can have that room," she said.

"Thanks." He looks around. "Plenty of space... lots of stuff to individualize."

Oh, not this again. Avelyn sighs, then says to Leona. He always takes ages to personalize things. It has to do with that philosophy with his.

When Aya replied, Rob seemed to go on edge. He tensed, and seemed distracted.

"No, I haven't sparred yet. I've been here maybe half an hour." She shrugged apologeticly. "But I do know how to use a sword." She cut off.

What was she doing?

"I... I should probably get going, leave you guys alone." Ayalin gently nudged the cat, then set it on the floor. "If you're sure it's alright, what do you think would be a good time for me to come back tomorrow? If you're sure it's okay." She clasped her hands together, trying to hide their slight shaking.

She probably shouldn't have even come.

Ben walked inside the garage and made himself look at the Voidbringer. That person- could it still be considered a person?- was a part of something that had almost killed his friends, himself, so many times. He would murder every last person in the house if given the chance. Somehow he still felt bad for him. Having an evil spren inside of you must feel horrible. He didn't even know if the man had bonded with it willingly. He walked up to him, flinching when he looked up at him. Perhaps he could help him, break his spren bond. He knew that it was a foolish hope, that healing couldn't fix something like that, but he had least had to try. Placing a hand on his arm, he closed his eyes and pushed his stormlight into him. He was met with a wall of rotting darkness, so filled with anger and despair that he gasped. It hurt, feeling like a tainted fire burning. He battered his stormlight against it, but it did nothing. It just disappeared. He yanked his hand back, which now had a slight burn. His head hurt like crazy. He couldn't imagine having to feel something like that every single waking hour of his life. He wished that there was something else he could do to help, but he was out of options. Illusions could not help that. He walked back to Shana and Everest, expression downcast. "Go a little easy on him," he mumbled.

@The_Archivist

@Sorana

As Everest focused on the Voidbringer, he realised he recognised him. A deep chill went through him and he resisted the urge to scream in sudden startlement and fear. He knew him. He knew him.

Somehow he managed to hide his feelings behind the mask as Ben tried to do... something. Whatever it was it obviously didn't work, which meant it was Everest's turn to try and get answers.

He walked forward towards the voidbringer and pulled up a chair in front of him to sit on. He took in a deep breath in a futile attempt to still his racing heart. One wrong sentence from the Voidbringer would ruin everything, destroy his last shot at redemption and insure that no-one would ever look at him again without utter loathing in theire eyes. And all he could do was hope for the best.

Presenting a calm face, he said, "I suppose I'll cut straight to the chase then. Tell us what you know about the Voidbringers."

Shana observed Everest, as he walked over to the Voidbringer, as he watched it, him, she corrected herself for the first time. There was a flicker of something on his face, but it was gone so quickly, she wasn't sure if it had been there, or not. She stayed where she was, close enough to be able to step in should something go wrong. Apart from that she held back, left it to him.

Watching Everest sit down in front of the Voidbringer, she realized that they had never questioned those that moved in with them. They had always opened their door, offered a room, something to eat and simply invited them into their family. She had never thought about it, but with the spy observing their school today, suddenly it felt foolish, as if they were inviting their own doom into the house with open arms.

Shifting her weight to her other leg she considered the thought and its implications. Who could she trust? Who could they trust? Should they stop offering a sanctuary, to minimize the risk of a spy in their midst? It's better to kill them quickly, to prevent them from hurting others. What we do, is the right thing. Rob's words and she had believed them at the time, had agreed. What they did was just. It was what needed to be done.

Her eyes rested on the Voidbringer and she realized, that if she voiced her thoughts, if she chose to put caution and fear over hospitality and trust, if she turned away someone in need, then where was the difference? Was there even a difference anymore. Everest was here, and it didn't matter why he was here. Unless he did something that hurt any of them, unless he openly betrayed them, she would trust him. Him and everybody else that walked into their hourse. She would fight and she would protect them as well, because they wouldn't be here if they weren't in need of help. Only those with a complicated, with a twisted past ended up at their house and to send them away, it could kill them. There was enough blood on her hands to sentence her to death over and over again. Right reasons or no right reasons - there had to be a border. It was one thing to fight magical enemies that threated innocents, that tried to kill her family. But it was something else to misstrust said innocents, only because maybe they once had done something wrong. She was the last one allowed to judge anybody. Here, for her, the past was the past. Important was the future and what all of them did to try and make the place a better world.

He turned to Aya. He remembered a time where he’d been as nervous as her, alone in a confusing house, new to a confusing world of surges and power. He thought that at a moment like this, a comforting smile or a gentle voice would have helped make her feel less nervous, but Rob had none of those things. So he had to play to his strengths.

“I’m sure it’s okay,” Rob said bluntly. “And I’m not someone to change my opinions, well, ever.”

"Thanks," Ayalin said quietly, not looking at Rob again as she stood. She swung her backpack up onto her shoulder to steady her shaking hands and hurried out into the street.

It was growing dark. She had been in there longer than she had thought.

It was dark, the road deserted.

Ayalin slowly smiled, pulling a coin from her pocket and dropping it to the ground. She wasn't not the best at flying through the air, but there had been a few nights...

She pushed on the coin, throwing herself into the air.

Ayalin can run into someone at school the next day or something. I'll spare you all from reading her interaction with the family she's staying with. Because I'm not sure how that would exactly work, so I'll just say she's all set.

Fadran nods, then proceeds to take off his backpack. He rummages through the pockets, pulling out various gadgets and gizmos aplenty. He sets a cup on the nightstand, filling it with pens and pencils one by one. He unties a ribbon from around one of the shoulder straps, pulls out a pocketwatch from the water bottle pocket, and a single pair of scissors from the bottom of the big pocket. After that, he removes a couple lunchboxes, a water bottle, and what seems to be a broken iPhone. He sets all these things up in a miticulous manner about the room, making sure everything has its place.

"Done." Fadran says, straightening a pencil. "This room is now mine."

Is the lunchbox necessary? Avelyn asks. It's not exactly sanitary.

"I've long since cleaned out all the moldy gatorade. It's fine." He looks around the room. "There's a lot of room left. I guess I'll just have to find more stuff."

Everest finished his slice of cake and followed Shana to the garage. They kept the voidbringer in the garage? Wasn't that awkward? I'm heading out to make a grocery run. I will kill you and anyone you care about. Bye now!

And then he entered, and saw the voidbringer. His whole body tensed, prepared for a fight. He knew the voidbringer was restrained, but it still went against every instinct he acquired over the last six months to not do something.

Sheln's eyes shifted to the the newcomer as he entered his room, and lingered there for a moment. Something about the boy tickled his memory, but he couldn't quite put a finger on what it was.

@xinoehp512 @Lunamor @Sorana

The boy spoke, and suddenly recognition sparked in Sheln's mind, and he remembered exactly where he'd seen Everest

He.attuned Joy. This was perfect.

He'd only dropped the other sphere on a hunch, a faint hope that his target would be amenable for Enlightenment. But Everest... Everest was a completely different story. Sheln had seen the flash of horror in the boy's eyes when they met his own. Those were the eyes of someone keeping a secret. A secret that Sheln knew- and that Everest knew that he knew.

Half a year ago, Thade had approached him with a proposal. He'd explained that he'd had enough practice with Sha-thoexis, and he was ready to put what he'd learned to use.

Find me a Radiant, he'd said. Capture someone they care about. I will show you.
And so, Sheln had found him a few. It had actually been surprisingly easy. The hardest part wound up being matching the Radiants to their families. Many of their searches had been frustrated by a discovery that the Radiant in question either had no close kin or had unstable relationships with them.
Their perseverance had paid off eventually, however, and after they'd found a few matches it was smooth sailing. Most Radiants apparently relied on anonymity to protect their loved ones- actual guarding on them was sparse to nonexistent, and so kidnapping them was a piece of cake. It was simplicity itself to use them as bait against the Radiants, to draw them out so Thade could start to work his magic on them.
It was at that point that Sheln had gotten involved with Everest. He'd been resisting Sha-thoexis as of that point, but seemed quite willing to go along with whatever he was told in order to protect his family. Thade had given the boy to him to help him with an attack on a Radiant- one that, with his help, wound up ultimately being a success.
The boy had fled shortly thereafter. They'd sent messengers after him, offering him his family's safety in exchange for his allegiance. He'd refused, and eventually they'd lost his whereabouts.
Not lost anymore, he thought with delight. This was exactly what he needed. Everest was hiding his past from the others, and that gave Sheln leverage over him.
And that wasn't even taking into account his family. While the boy had proven his willingness to abandon them in the past, he'd also proven his willingness to bend his standards in order to save them.  And - critically - he didn't know what they could do to his family. What they had done. Not kill them, of course- not since they had Thade's abilities of... persuasion. After all, why kill his family when they could, instead, convert them?
One way or another, Everest was theirs. He was sure of it.

Sheln suddenly realized that the boy had asked him a question. He blinked. "Voidbringers?" he blurted without thinking. "What are those?"

Thankfully, the Voidbringer didn't immediately oust Everest as the traitor he was. Could he have perhaps, forgotten about him? No, that was too convenient, he must be setting up for a greater reveal later on. He had to find a way to deal with him before then. He was working with a ticking bomb that could go off any second, time was short.

But now was not the time to figure it out, he needed to keep up pretenses, and that included paying attention during the interrogation.

Everest's eyes narrowed in suspicion. What was the Voidbringer's game here? He couldn't pretend to be human, not with how he looked. Was this meant to frustrate him? Only one way to find out. "All right then, I'll play along. Voidbringers are evil monsters that enjoy killing people. They have glowing red eyes, and some of them have red and black skin and carapace. Sound familiar?" Anger tinged his words towards the end. This was not good, he needed to end this as quickly as possible.

Right- that's their name for us. He knew that. Still, he didn't appreciate being called evil.

"I'm afraid I don't know of any sort of being exactly like the one you describe," he said innocently. "Although perhaps a few of the Enlightened might fit the bill."

Shana suppressed the urge to roll her eyes, anger surging up through her veins again. She grit her teeth against the feeling, Rob's words echoing through her again. Kill them before they harm even more. She kept quiet, made sure she gave Everest some space. She didn't want to feel him boxed in, controlled, and she was only here for security anyways.

And yet she felt herself inhaling a little more stormlight, eyeing the different ropes that hold him down. She could rip them apart, give him a chance to move and then she could be like the wind, pushing fire over a plain. She could be fast and deadly and simply solve the situation as it should have been solved yesterday.

He felt the urge to kill him, here and now. It would solve all of his problems, and rid the world of one more Voidbringer. Wait, he tried to tell himself, you wouldn't kill a prisoner in cold blood, would you? But deep inside he knew that yes, he would. This one at least.

But that wasn't what he was here for, he was here for information, and he was going to get it, one way or another. With some difficulty, he swallowed his anger. It would be great if you could give us this information:

Name:

Age/gender:

Appearance:

Personality:

Radiant Status:

History:

You can write as much or as little as you want.

I don’t blame you, it’s a lot of pages :P we’re all living in a house in Seattle of USA, we’ve had a lot of new people come in recently. The rest of the unInvested world doesn’t know about Investiture. Mostly the kids try to balance regular lives with fighting Voidbringers. Currently some people are around the house talking and a few are out in the garage, interrogating a Voidbringer.

Name: Sara

Age/gender: Female/15

Appearance: brown wavy hair, gray eyes, 170cm height (I hope centimeters will be Ok, I don't know how much feets it is) , slim

Personality: She is an extrovert, generally nice, but sometimes too impulsive. However, she don't like to lead the group, she prefer when somebody is telling her what she need to do Then it's easier to blame the leader:ph34r:

Radiant Status: I should write here in which order I am, which Words I need to say or both? (I read the book in Polish, so I don't know some Sanderson words)

History: She was born in New York, on the outskirts of Manhattan. Most of life she spent in small apartament, which Sara disiked. Her dream always was to live in a countryside, or somewhere, where she could have a yard and a Samoyed dog. Unfortunately her mother was allergic to dogs, so Sara wasn't abe to get herself one. Although, she was happy whith her life, she had great friends and not bad marks at school. The problems started all at the same time. when she reached 14, she saw for the first time a spren (I guess that we have sprens here). He looked like a back hole and introduced himself as Argoh. Soon Sara started to get used to him. The big problem was than others couldn't see him. At school a lot of people named her crazy and she was forced to talk whith psychologist. Also in the same time her father got a bad disease. Unfortunatey he was the only one working, Saras mother tried to earn some money, but it wasn't really succesull. And so, the family moved to Seattle to Saras grandma. There Sara met Radiant Knights and was told about her situation. She's still learning how to use her skills

The end

I hope that my story was clear. It was more tha 200 words and the ones I write in english are for school and they count 120-170 and I have some mistakes there

We have Radiant spren, but not other spren.

It was clear, don’t worry! However, I believe we’ve been saying that people can only become Radiants on one side of the country because of an Unmade. You might not be able to have her come from New York, is that okay?
