Jason probably released Cytonics, the aliens monitored for critical mass and then hijacked key figures to cause max damage. Not necessarily, but not at all peaceful, either, and most of the definition of "evil" within the world of Skyward and Defending Elysium is violence and potential for violence, something that resides in 99.99% humans.
