Yeah, the spam filter does a great job of stopping bots, but sometimes new members get caught too. The good news is the threshold is pretty low for how many upvotes you have to get in order to be able to post links.

Here's the link to your project: (nicely composed, by the way)

@StrikerEZ Thank you! When I play this piece, I imagine Tien's story from beginning to end---I see scenes (some that aren't described in the book) like him and Kal running through fields, fencing with sticks... I tried to retell that story in my head. I'm glad you connected with the music and felt something similar to what I was feeling!!

@Ookla the Paragon Thanks for posting the link, I appreciate it!!

I loved it.  Honestly, it reminded me of Yiruma a bit, with the grace notes and the ascending/descending lines.  And the audio sounded like production level quality too!  Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.  (That's my impression of a satisfied Pattern.)

Thank you @ILuvHats! I think you impression of Pattern is quite admirable. :)

I posted a video, not as good quality though, on YouTube if anyone is interested. (Original --> https://youtu.be/lrvtjZcOtYE)

Keep composing, @Spock.  I always try to keep an eye out for quality composers of Sanderson inspired music on YouTube, and I’ve found a few I really like.  But they either made one post, or they only have a new video one every year and a half.  So please keep making music because I’d love to see more.

To be honest, I’ve always wanted to make some orchestral arrangements for some cosmere books, but I never really got around to it.  I mean, I made a pretty repetitive diddle on Guitar Center, but it wasn’t that good.  Plus, I mean, it was Guitar Center :P.  If I have time next summer, I might finally get around to it, rent Sibelius for a few months, and compose something I’d actually be proud enough of to share.  But until then, I’ll keep having to listen to amazing artists like you.

Thank you @ILuvHats and @equinox! I happy that you appreciate the song. My plan is to keep writing piano songs for characters in the Cosmere. I've started one for Shallan, but I find it sounding a lot like Tien's song. I might post my patterns for her song on the forums, but meanwhile, what other character would you guys like to hear songs for?

I should be finished with my rough draft for Shallan's song within the first quarter of 2019. I think a song for Venli would be fun, and I'll experiment in the meantime.

It would be helpful, as I'm not as familiar with Venli, if you guys pointed out specific moments in Venli's story that I could look deeper into for the song to reflect... Thank you!

Have you read Oathbringer? If so, just use her interludes, and that should about sum up her story so far. Those and the little we learn of her from Eshonai in WoR.

I have read Oathbringer, but it has been a while and my mind is still recovering from being blown multiple times... :) I will definitely read that again!

Meanwhile, I thought I might reach out to the forums during my composition process for "Shallan's theme". I recorded it with my phone, so it is not the best audio, but what do you guys think of the pattern I have so far?

I probably should've gone in order, because I listened to the Wind's Pleasure, then Shallan's theme, then this. Nonetheless, can I, like, hire you or something? Your work is absolutely AMAZING.

Thank you so much, @Channelknight Fadran! No one has asked if they could hire me for playing piano... :) I'm glad you appreciate the piece! I saw your post on Cosmere music--I'm in! I'd love to join in on making wholesome pieces of music, I love the idea musicians coming together to make and critique each others music! Let's do it!

I had recorded an updated version of Tien's Song that accurately matches the score I made (finally!).

Guess who's family is going to have to cover their ears as I play this song terribly for a month in an attempt to get it right :D.
