Yes!

D&D is fun!

Currently I've been helping my friend find ways to abuse the cantrip shape water.

Ha, you play D&D? I don't do that, I stay home and read. Who needs socialization when you have Brandon Sanderson?:P

That is certainly true

Although, I do play D&D with my youth group. Very entertaining - although we are not very far into our campaign that we started in April :( The DM wants us to get together over the holidays tho, so maybe we'll get to find out who a random dude we found in a cave is (argh grammar)

@Ookla the NerdyI'm not the DM to be clear. I'm just a player. I'll ask my DM about seeing the homebrew stuff. He's added a bunch of items, enemies, allies, etc. etc. They are pretty awesome. There are a lot of homebrew classes and races, my DM's stance on it is, "If I pass it off as balanced, it can be in the campaign." Right now we have a custom race (Cazian) and a custom class (Judge) though we will probably get more soon.

Oh no... Quick, write down the best ways to do it. I definitely won't use it in my campaign...

Question: My DM already nerfed me multiple times and I'm still overpowered. what do I do?!!!!

Answer: I made a second character!!!

Don't judge me, I made my decision on what class to play based purely off the names (this is my first campaign) and I play a ranger. I said don't judge me. I can feel you judging me. My other character is a bard because I love music. and now my bard is a tank with over 100 health. How does this always happen to me?

That's what I used to do. D&D is fun, you should try it.

Yeah, that seems amazing.

If you want something fun to use while DMing or to show to your DM, try this monstrosity of a poison that I made a while back. It's quite fun...

Also, Monks can run up rain. Facts.

See here's the problem; if you don't have a group of friends to do it with and your family is into it, you never have a chance.

Especially when the only people you know who play it think laughing at you is a great hobby.  *cough cough @Ookla the platypus*

I don't laugh at you. I don't laugh at anyone. I'm nice. Why would you say that I like to laugh at you. I am very hurt.**

*mostly and always to those who deserve it.

*Like, actually though. That hurts me on an emotional level.

I've never played D and D. I do listen to some funny podcasts though. Definitely more of my thing to listen to the story anyway. Any of you heard of The Damage Guild or Make Believe Heroes?

9th level monks get an ability that says that they can run up vertical surfaces and they can run on water. Therefore, you can run vertically up water!

I'm glad that you enjoyed my poison.
That's such a weird thing to say...

I don't think that works how you say it does... but I'm still gonna try it with my DM whenever I make a monk.

Nope! Who/what are they?

Two pretty good D&D podcasts. The Damage Guild is better but they're both funny and cleaner than most D&D podcasts.

It's mostly a meme, but a lot of DMs use it just for kicks and giggles.

Or you can be like me and create an Aarakocra Sun Soul monk that has roughly the capabilities of M-Bot

Aarakocra monks may or may not be slightly absurd.

But 17th level way of the open hand monks can insta-kill anything in two turns, so...

Monk may just be a tad ridiculous.

Open hand actually is pretty bad.

You're a fragile class. You won't insta-kill that often, so you're using your turn to deal 10d10 necrotic.

Compare that to Kensi, which can spontaneously make +3 weapons, or Sun Soul, which has amazing range.

yeah, I know. But I do a lot of research before I make a class (I do now, not when I made my previous characters) so I know what I'm gonna do. I'll figure it out. And I don't have a phone, so I can't look at all the available class routes most of the time. I only get the few they show in the book. And people said that bards were fragile, but my bard has the most health of my campaign and fairly good armor too, so...

Whoever said that bards are bad was lying. They're amazing.

not bad, just fragile. and yeah, they are amazing. It astounds me how my bard is both an attack and support class. Another part of the homebrew is that our ability modifiers can go up to 10 (or 11, but that is voluntary because it gives bad side effects, similar to savantism now that I think about it) so now my bard has +10 charisma. She's quite powerful. And we never stop leveling up. After level 20, our hp only goes up every 2 levels and at some point it only goes up every 3 levels and so on and so forth. I'm not sure about spell slots. I don't think my DM actually does them, I think he just lets us cast whatever, whenever (besides maybe really powerful spells). I usually still do my own spell slots and base my turns off that. My bard has a spell (heroism) that allows her to give 15 temporary hit points at the start of the targets turn after touching them on her turn. Oh, and also Flame Strike. (Look it up. It's cool and pretty good.)

Nice. I run a Githzerai monk. He has a homebrew item that lets him take an extra actions for a minute at the cost of getting exhaustion. With double dashing, unarmored movement, and a useless subclass feature, I flew across a 600 foot pool of lava.

That was fun.

yikes! I have a base monk made but haven't used her yet. Her unarmored defense (with shield) is 20. It gets worse if she wears armor.

You can only use shield with unarmored defense for Barbarian. Monk can't use shield and unarmored.
