                    Cycle 1:

"Let's make this easy on everyone.” Sergeant Salmon paced the length of the dining room, tapping his mobile absentmindedly while studying the faces of the party guests seated at the long table.

“There's a murderer in this hotel and I'm willing to bet they aren't working alone. These "Rightful Rulers", as they've so arrogantly named themselves, have been causing problems for a while now and I plan to put a stop to it. Everyone will be interrogated separately and I don't care who goes first. Squabble amongst yourselves if you want, but everyone will get their turn under the spotlight. I don't want no trouble and if you're all very nice and cooperative than we can get this mess sorted out soon enough. The hotel manager has been kind enough to arrange sleeping quarters for everyone and Officer Orange will escort you to your rooms. My other officers will be posted throughout the building so don't worry about your safety and feel free to enjoy the benefits of the hotel. We've got this all under control.”

Welcome to QF34! I'm very excited to see you all here in my first game and will not terribly enjoy writing up your deaths should you not survive. But I must endure it for the greater good.  Have fun! :D Remember you can only target players with your powers and items(except mobiles) who are in the same room as you and you must put in an action for moving rooms in your GM PM. Sir Sabien Ash strode into the room, his polished leather shoes clicking against the floor with measured steps.

“Ladies, gentlemen, others, and all,” he said with a smile that showed many teeth. “How are we all doing this wonderful evening?”

He didn’t wait for a reply. The tall man in his deep red suit cast an eye around the assembled guests, sizing up each and every one of them like a chef in a meat freezer.

“This!” he proclaimed, sticking a bony finger up in the air, “is a pickle. We are in a pickle, my soon-to-be friends.” He turned back to them with a lipless leer. “And I hate pickles.”

The tall man snapped up into an almost military posture, clasping his hands behind his back and beginning to stride up and down the length of the hall, stepping cleanly over a police evidence marker like it wasn’t even there.

“However,” he continued, his voice snapping around the room, “being in this pickle jar together means that we must work together. Even if we come at odds or even to blows, we must remember that we are in this together, through thick and thin.”

He cast his gaze over the other guests, now prisoners in this hotel. “I think we’ll get along delectably.”

Sabien Ash adjusted his cuffs, the ebony cufflinks matching his black shirt under the maroon suit and tie. “With the fall of Calamity—may it never return—and the…curing of the affliction that has plagued Epics, I find it not implausible that there are Epics among us, passing as regular people.”

He arched a thin black eyebrow at the guests. “Know that I respect your privacy, and I in no way demand that you reveal your natures to us."

Sir Sabien clapped his thin hands together suddenly. “Percival, take this down. I think that this will make an excellent contribution to my memoirs. Ahem. ‘I stood in the centre of the room, every eye upon me and all guests breathlessly hanging upon my words. Surely this would be a great turning point of my life, where—’”

Sabien Ash frowned and paused, then glanced around him. “Ah, sad day, I remember now,” he said. “Percival went and got himself arrested for trying to sneak away. Poor fool, but no matter. I’ll get another one.”

He grinned around at the other guests, baring his white teeth. “I think I can survive without my dear companion. Why, you all seem like excellent people.” Sabien’s lipless grin grew wider. “Once this is all over, I would love to have you all for dinner.”

Hello everyone! I’m in my last two weeks of university (last weeks ever, assuming that I pass) so I’ll be relatively busy, but I’m going to be making time for this game because I missed SE so much. I’ll always be awake for rollover, but since most people are on the other side of the world to me, I’ll probably end up making less frequent and larger posts to make up for the fact that it’ll be harder to talk to people directly.

I’m keen to RP with anyone who wants to. Just let me know :). I can’t promise that Sir Sabien won’t make all manner of death threats, but that’s half the fun. And that’s what we’re here for, right? Fun? Not killing each other and glaring around with complete distrust? Yeah, sounds about right.

I don’t have many immediate thoughts about the game, other than that we’re going to have to watch what rooms people go into, and that there’s real potential for cliques of people who trust each other more to gather in rooms. Might be something to consider.

@Kidpen I hope that this doesn’t get confusing, since your RP character is a Doctor as well.

I too don’t have any immediate thoughts in the game, which just leaves me with my RP.

Aristocrat Azure always appreciated apples.

An apple an afternoon always aided Azure. Azure always ate any and all apples.

Anxious, Azure awkwardly ambled ahead an archway, and acclaimed:

“Aha! All apples are awesome!”

Windrunner will hover about a foot off the ground, examining the room before him. "Well this is a new waste of time, don't think anyone's ever been foolish enough to accuse me of murder. Alas, this one was not me; so which one of you mortals was it?" He sees someone babbling about apples in the corner, simply snorts in derrision

I don't have much to add at this point--also won't be super active today or tomorrow because of work, but I will get on when I can.

I love this so much, my goodness. xD

Shaman Sky glanced up at the person that was suddenly exclaiming a love for apples. She shakes her head slightly, her sky blue hair falling into her eyes as she studies the others in the room with her, fretting to herself. 'Oh goddess above, whatever shall we do about these dastardly 'Rightful Rulers'? We have to find and exterminate them as soon as possible.' She glances at another man who had spoken out, studying him momentarily before dismissing him as any type of threat. [:p] She begins to move around the kitchen, slowly looking for any clues that may help her narrow down the possible murderers.

Hey guys, It's been a while since I've played an SE game so I'll try my best to be as active as possibe. I won't have any time for RP though.

I think it would be wise to add some game-related thoughts to our posts soon, as this is a QF and people could get busy. (I, myself, do not have anything to add on this front yet but hopefully by my next post there's more content)

I don't see any reason for BR to be hiding a secret role that she herself has, because this game seems pretty straightforward. If there are any secret roles, I doubt BR has it. Plus Lynching the GM most likely doesn't serve much purpose.

But I will respond in defense of my GM, so Coop.

Anyway, If someone dies, we cannot just assume that it was someone in the room at the beginning of that cycle. Anyone could have phased in, killed someone, then sent in the order to go to another room all within the same cycle. So it could still be anyone. Of course if this happens, it would be with the standard elim kill, and not with an item kill, because if the person phased with an item, they would have lost the item.

Fortunately, we can separate these kills from the rest because standard elim kills are distinguished in the write up. Item kills will not be though.

Also, May I recommend that if you have an Item, and you see that you are going to be lynched, drop your item so it can remain in the game. Actually, that might depend on how many people you trust within your given room, and what weapon you have. Anyway, that's my game thoughts for now.

This was not what Raven had expected of her first visit to Babylon Restored. It was supposed to be a new life, somewhere she wouldn't be recognized as the indiscriminate killer with a bad temper.

It wasn't like she'd killed that many people before. She was only a minor epic, after all, without powers that killed people or even helped her be invincible. However, people had still annoyed her, and it was easier to get rid of them than try to get them to comply.

Raven still didn't like people, but she no longer felt an overwhelming desire to snap their necks. Usually. Being stuck in a hotel was unfortunately wearing on her resolve to remain good.

That's assuming the Righteous Rulers have phasing abilities, which is a bit of a balance debate. It would be an incredibly useful ability to have as an elim team, but it might tip the scales in their direction quite a bit. On the other side, I realize being able to narrow down the suspects to a single room of people would be incredibly unfair to the elims.

Hmm, thinking through it as I typed it out makes me think they probably have one person with phasing and possibly mind control or illusion.

My character is a pharmacist doctor.

I won't be around until pretty late in the cycle for this one, but I should be here most of the time afterwards.

Despite having worked in Enforcement, Major Mauve was not a good detective. There had been no point in Steelheart's Newcago, where a person's legal status depended solely on their power and willingness to accept Steelheart's rule. Niceties like presumption of innocence were thrown out the window when it was so much easier to just forcibly silence all the troublemakers regardless of culpability. In Mauve's ten years as a member of Enforcement, seven of those spent as a sniper, the closest his Core had ever come to pursuing an investigation was when their fire Epic tortured the survivors of their raids for information. The days when such barbarity had served as legitimate interrogation techniques had passed, but its widespread use left Mauve uncertain of how to begin a proper investigation.

I believe it would be best if we tried to keep the number of people in each room balanced. Doing so will tend to produce a lower number of suspects for each elim kill, although this benefit is mostly lost if the Rightful Rulers have someone who can phase, kill, then switch rooms again. It should also make things easier for the action and item scanners to investigate potential murderers.

@BrightnessRadiant Does moving rooms count as an action? Just making sure you can't kill then leave in the same cycle.

It does count as an action, but you may take any action available to you personally, once per cycle.

There is no action limit in other words.

Also, you do realize that voting for me is essentially voting for the chief of police to interrogate themself right? :D

Speaking of which, I vote Kidpen.

Out of curiosity, is there a particular reason for the vote on Kidpen? I know most D1 votes don't have much in the way of a logical basis, but this one doesn't seem to fall under a poke vote either since Kidpen had just posted.
