The Well of Descension

"The main problem with that would be the actual getting in to the spiritual realm. Not something that can often be done. That being said, neither is breaking a barrier created by a god, so it's definitely worth perusing".

"Sure. I don't know him, or it. But if you think it can help, then sure. The more having our back, that better."
she shot Riathor an irritated look and the use of it, but decided to let it stand. To her his friend had looked human. But there were beings around that only looked that way.

Turning back to the main conversation she thought about the whole, getting in the spiritual realm. Souls, the realm of truths, of the shards.
"Maybe we could follow a soul there. Use it's connection to its body and follow that."
she blurted out, and then wondered how they could do that.

Sorana, my character hasn't told you his name yet...

Rekaerb sighed. "Getting to the spiritual realm shouldn't be too hard. Perpendicularities join all three realms together, so we can use that for an entry point. I'm more concerned about surviving passage through the Spiritual."

I know. I won't adress you by it, but it was easier than writing "the man".

A couple weeks later:

Mahz stood about a mile from the humongous spike in the earth. He still didn't completely understand what it actually did, but he could still gaze in wonder at what basically amounted to a big metal stick that held the world together-and the shimmering sphere that held back an enormous monster that would kill them for getting anywhere near this close to the spike. He wasn't totally comfortable experimenting with it, but there wasn't much of another option. "Alum, you said you just wanted to try throwing things at it, for a start?" Looking around for something to throw, he noticed a DA fruit vendor to the side. Giving a couple spheres (although the vendor was upset about having to convert it later), he bought a pineapple. "Is this good?"

Alum made a face. “I’ve read the stories. I’d rather not die, thanks.” He instead picked up a small stone and lobbed it as hard as he could at the massive spike, seeing what would happen.

Alternatively, throwing the pineapple could be the solution we need - it’ll make  Voidus break himself out of the force field to seek retribution. But Alum unfortunately has a morbid fear of dying, so he probably won’t try that.

This would definitely work but would also do exactly what he's trying to avoid, letting the Guardian out.

And also Alum would be disintegrated :P

Mahz paused. Stories? He was still so unused to being one of the few people on the team who haven't been here for years-or at least learned more about the world in the time they were here.

Of course, he admittedly should've thought of just picking up a rock in the first place. He just wasn't used to having pockets filled with as many spheres as he could carry, and it's possible he just wanted to find a way too spend it.

But that was besides the point. He gazed eagerly at the barrier, waiting to see what would happen.

The rock bounced harmlessly off the barrier.

"Well that was mildly disappointing"
