Yes, I am here to face the council for all the ruckus I caused

Althea and Max arrived in Oasis.

"I used a halberd, yes. But more because I thought it looked scary, than because I know how to wield it."

Althea replied and looked around.

Lusk and Benson. Interesting. And the man, Max had talked to earlier was here as well. This was prone to get ... exciting.

@I think I am here.

A black glass car appeared in a flash and parked. Mr Amber got out and walked over. “I have arrived.” He said, quiet unnecessarily.

"Hello. It's been a while. I hope you have been fine."

“I have been quite well. How have you been?”

Althea nodded.

"It's been a good year. I married, rebuilt Oasis. It's good to see you here."

She looked over at Benson.

"This is worrying."

I'm going to make a post as Hellbent here, as him and Devaan share a body, I've already told Ark about it and if he wants me to I'll rescind it.

Seem's like there's a commotion in the council chamber

Interesting... Let's have a look, shall we?

Hellbent walked into the council chamber and smiled at the gathered members. Some drew weapons, not recognising Hellbent's new body.

"Hey Amber." He nodded to the man.

"It's been a year since I've last been here but lets dispense with hostilities for now." He looked to Max

"I'm Hellbent" He told them, taking a seat.

"What's going on?"

I recognise the new guy, Benson. Silphio was updating my portfolio and had added him to the code orange file section. Steel compounder, amateur thief that specialises in knives. What's he done?

“Indeed it is. Unpleasant business this is, but it must be taken care of.”

6 minutes ago, Nohadon said:

Hey Amber." He nodded to the man.

Mr Amber nodded at this newcomer. “Welcome.”

"I'm Hellbent"

Althea turned around and looked at the man claiming to be Hellbent.

"Can you proove it?"

She asked him.

"You were gone for over a year."

After Silas had dropped the twins off with the nanny, he had tapped the Aon which took him to Oasis city, landing him in a hidden place behind a building.

“So,” Benson declared. My trial was supposed to end 45 minutes ago and it hasn’t started.

Tena had been standing in the corner, having changed into clothes appropriate to the situation, and heard when somebody called themselves Hellbent, the same guy who had stuck that note in her pocket. She walked over and stood next to Althea. “Yeah. Can you prove that you’re Hellbent?”

Hellbent smiled, moving up to the wall. In a flash, there was a keypad. He typed in a code, and the door swung open, revealing rows of weapons. "I know the council passwords. I am Hellbent, and I know not how to prove it further." Then, quick as a lightning bolt, he turned to Benson. "Child, it's time. Please follow me." He clicked the keypad again, and a wall slid open, revealing a large circular room, with a chair in the middle, and a podium in the front with places for the Council. "Sit."

Benson nervously looked at the chair and skittishly walked towards it. He pulled the back of the chair out and sat down, facing the members of the council.

Tena leaned against the back wall, behind the council members. Hellbent, huh? And here I was thinking he was dead for good. Gorramn it, I'm not married to him too, am I? I hope not.

Fred knocked on the city's front gate with his face.

Darn, he had been everywhere this past year.

Well, welcome to the interrogation room/gladiatorial arena. It's multifunctional.

One of these is a double pewter with spiked double steel, one is a Kandra with an arsenal in his bones. They both have shardblades.

Hellbent snapped his fingers, and two men walked forward, wearing dark suits, a violent glint in each's eye. They stood by Benson, on either side, hands on their guns. "Now, I don't think this man requires the full council. Amber, Lusk, please come here. All other Ghostbloods, you may watch from the sides. That means Tena, Max, and any others." He grinned, walking up to Benson, leaning in close. "You won't be any trouble, will you?" One of the men started to slide his gun from the holster.

"No, I won't." Benson said calmly. "May we please proceed?" Benson gestured for the man to replace his gun.

The man got a pouty look on his face, but still slid the gun back into its holster. Under his breath, he muttered, "No one ever lets me have any fun." Hellbent stepped back, a wide smile on his face. It was less intimidating then on his original body, but it would do. "Good." He stroked one of the knife handles on his belt, looking at Benson, seemingly deep in thought.

I've been waiting all day for this meeting and I don't have much time tonight. How long will this take do you suppose?

Althea took a seat to the side and observed Hellbent. He definitly acted the same. The details would have to wait.

Satisfied that her council had everything in control, she pulled out her pad and started skimming over her assistant's reports, while waiting for Hellbent to begin.

Max smiled. “Well, it did look scary, so you were right in that regard. But I’d love to teach you how to wield a weapon.”

They finished talking and Althea walked away to talk to other Council members, and Max smiled, and looked around the place he was in. When he remembered where he was, his gut clenched and he suddenly felt powerless, alone. His eyes widened, but he tried to control it, control his emotions. It was something he’d learned from Althea. He straightened up, and concentrated, tried to banish the thoughts.

But everywhere he looked, there were flashes. Bodies. Dead. Screaming. The same walls now rebuilt he saw as they were a year ago, broken and shattered, people dropping to the ground like flies as a city screamed in riot. A Riot he’d created.

No. He hadn’t created it. It had been the other Max, the man with the turquoise armour and Aonic sketchings, the man with the forcefeilds of green and a cape with a single glyph emblazoned on it. Max had been healed, he had a wife, he was not... that, anymore.

He felt like he was alone in the city, isolated to its gates and its insanity, lingering into his head. The Phoenix above. A city of nightmares. But, no, it was being rebuilt. It was different, just like he was. He rubbed his eyes and tried to fight back, against his distressing emotions.

***

Lusk watched as the kid was brought up to a podium where he was guarded. The man who claimed to be Hellbent was talking, and signalled Lusk up. Lusk nodded, hobbling upwards, using his cane for assistance. No weapon was hidden in it, no secret purpose. Just a normal wooden cane for an old man past his prime.

He walked up to where Hellbent has pointed. “Yes?” He said. He’d also called Amber up. The other Council member with a cane, coincidentally.

Lusk looked to the audience, so all who were here. As all of the other Ghostbloods lined to the sides as Hellbent said, Lusk looked at each of them. Tena, and Silas. The Righthand, and Max, who looked a little shaken but took his place on the sides as instructed. Looking up, the Rioter looked at Lusk straight on, and Lusk deeply considered ignoring his deal with Althea, to just smile and wave, but instead he looked away without a word or gesture, already sensing Max’s confusion.

Hellbent smiled. "Now, Benson, tell me. Why do you think you are here?"

What aren't you telling me?

You'll see. Don't worry, I have this under control.

I honestly don't know if I'm being tried by the GBs or the government. So click the first spoiler if it's the GBs, the second if it's the government.

Spoiler

Because I conspired to overthrow the GBs

Spoiler

Because I attempted assassination
