Again, sorry for the double post.

Mac climbed down the old ladder, nodded to the man on a stool down there, and walked purposefully down the hall, cane in hand.

Stopping in front of Rhazien's tomb, he paused. Downing a vial of steel and pewter, then inserted two spikes. One for both of their allomatic powers.

Devaan was a fighter, Mac was not. Hopefully his voidmaking and allomancy would be able to help him.

He burnt pewter, and pushed the lid of the coffin off. Looking at what was inside.

Temeria hastily followed him down into the tomb. She didn't think about it, didn't even consider to stay behind. Alone, no being alone was worse than entering a crypt. Nervously her hand closed around the handle of her sword and stayed close to Mac. He had talked about fighting a Shardbearer. He had to know what he was doing.

Silently she watched him do something with things that reminded her of nails, pushed them into his own body and she froze, suddenly glad that he couldn't see her. but then she hadn't really seen what he did either. So she had to be wrong. Maybe they were some kind of weapon. She wasn't one to judge other people's tastes, but this seemed to be a bit extreme. But to adress it now seemed to be a bad idea as well. If he turned on her, he wouldn't he'd offered her so much. If he wanted to harm her, he could have killed her already. She stayed back when he pushed open the coffin, and looked inside, glanced around the room now and then. The tomb was cool and pressed on her mood, but at least she wasn't alone. Being along would have been worse.

"What are you doing?"

She asked mostly to fill the silence, followed the urge to bring something alive in this atmosphere of dead.

Mac opened the tomb. An old skeleton the looked to be on the verge of falling apart lay at rest inside. On its right ring finger lay a small embroidered band, Aonic symbols engraved into it. It looked to be made of Nicrocil.

The skeleton's eyes began to glow a vibrant orange. It became clad in ethereal armor as it sat up. A simple dagger dropping into the palm of its hand.

Mythseeker It rasped in a voice fitting something with no vocal cords You have come to seek Rhazien's ring? Claim it then!

The skeleton moved on its own accord, bones knitting themselves back together as it leapt off the tomb. Distancing itself from Mac, holding his dagger warily.

A lifeless. A strange one, but she knew about lifeless. Armor and a dagger. Keep it at distance, use your advanced range and hack it to pieces. Lifeless were hard to defeat, they didn't feel pain. Usually getting rid of some limbs worked best. If it couldn't walk anymore, then she had almost won. The familiar anxiety before a fight made her stomach churn and she felt her breathing get deeper, calmer. Finally something she was used to, something she knew. Without hesitating she brandished her sword and stepped in front of Mac. He had hired her to fight. Not exactly here, but if he had seen the need to do that - there had to be reason.

Still she hesitated to rush forward, although she urged to do so, she hadn't lied when she told him that she liked a good fight. It was keeping her alive, it was keeping her sane. The moment when everything became unimportant. Keep back, keep back. Claim it then. A challenge, but it hadn't been for her. Not that she really cared, itched to give it a try, still she owned Mac so much. And a challenge was a challenge

"Can I?" She asked instead, eyes never leaving the skeletton.

Mac turned as Temira asked him what he was doing, probably referring to the spikes. "I'm using som-" He cut off as he noticed an orange glow from behind him, spinning around, he gripped his cane awkwardly, knowing that it could be used as a weapon, but quite sure how. Who needed to know how to fight if they could bend reality? He tossed up a coin, then expertly shot it toward the skeleton, pushing to try and test the durability of the armor. As he watched, the orange glow of its eyes was blocked by Temira asking if she could fight it.

He paused, weighing the unexpected choice in his head. Then he replied "If I get the ring on its finger, then be my guest." he stepped back, getting ready to watch her fight, the shadows of the corner banishing the uncertainty of having to fight, while the embarrassment of needing to step aside for this youth grew ever larger.

Temeria grinned and stormed forward, before he had finished speaking. The ring, get him the ring. She could do that. Her weapon was a familiar weight in her hand and she felt her armor move with her steps. She knew nothing about the armor, so she discarded it in her head. Until she learned if it had any special features, she would treat it as an armor. Her feet hit the ground, small clouds of dust covering her shoes when her steps threw it into the air. The thrill of a fight made her heart beat faster, the joy at moving, at controlling her body, at doing instead of questioning, of wondering filled her completely. A fight meant pain, a fight meant possible death. But it was that prospect that she loved so much.

She obviously aimed for the stomach, made sure to look there as well, then quickly changed the direction her sword was going and went for the joint of the left arm instead. In her experience armor was weaker at the joints and it was worth a try. If her experience fit this world - she would see that soon.

The skeleton responded to Temeria's feint, trying to block the blow with its dagger. The skeleton couldn't feel surprise when the blade's path changed direction. But it still did get hit by it. The blade clanked against the joint of the armor. Knocking that hand off entirely. Now with only one arm, the skeleton went for a counterattack, lunging clumsily at it's opponent.

She heard her sword hit the armor and prepared for the impact, for the jolt that would threaten to rip the blade out of her hand. Instead her sword moved down, the arm falling to the ground with a strange clatter. Temeria stumbled forward when the impact she had prepared for never came, felt the knife scrap over her arm, shortly afterwards something warm ran over her skin. Pain raced along her arm and she recognized it, but pushed it away for now. She took a step to the side, regained her balance again and memorized the way the impact had felt. She had expected the armor to offer a lot more resistance.

Quickly she moved backwards to get more distance between them again and swung her sword in low arc, aimed for a knee.

The spren drifted into the room, a little more sluggishly than it had been moving previously and its humanoid figure had its arms crossed, seeming to be sulking about something. But as it entered the room it saw the fight unfolding before it, the yellow glow of its eyes flared suddenly bright and it leaped 10 feet into the air with a sudden burst of energy. Its form began to shimmer, almost vibrating as it tried to pull itself forward into the fight but also hold itself back.

It sunk slowly back to the ground, still twitching in its indecision and with both glowing eyes locked onto Temeria as she fought the skeleton. A continuous crackling sound emanated from its body, accompanied by small popping sounds as sparks shot up from it.

The skeleton tried to slide out of the way, but couldn't move fast enough, its leg practically falling off as soon as it was hit by the sword. As it fell down it gave one last wild swing at Temira, hoping to hit something. If it couldn't protect the artifact, then hopefully no one would be able to grab it. Temira swiftly dodged the falling skeletons swing, countering with a downward strike at its arm, severing its third limb.

The skeleton collapsed, defeated. Slowly it began to decay, the magic that kept it together no longer serving a purpose. The Dagger and armor that cloaked it disappeared leaving a broken skeleton behind with a Nicrosil ring.

Mac smiled. "Thank you." Picking his way over to the bones he bent over and picked up the Ring, taking it off of the bone. He focused in on it, reading the Aons and tapping a little bit of the nicrosil on it. He grinned, Devaan didn't disappoint. "This is quite the ring! If im not mistaken it turns you into an elantrian temporarily, allowing you to touch these symbols and gain power."

His skin turned a silvery sheen as he tapped the ring, then thumbed one of the Aons, edo, summoning a bright shield  in front of him. This was a relic, a thing from ages long gone. Like him. Suddenly something changed, like a lightswitch had been flipped, Mac saw things through a new light.

He wasn't a part of this world. He had helped make it, and was proud of what it had become, but like every good artist knew, there was a time when a piece must be left alone. When you had to move on.

His skin returning to normal he walked over to Temira. "Take this." He said simply, "You can use it more than I can." With that he moved toward the ladder and climbed up to the Hall of Legends.

Can you make your reply in the hall of legends thread? Mac will start off by standing in front of his statue, staring at it.
