I met my best friend on the Stormlight Archive facebook group several years ago. She was very outgoing and friendly and had an AMAZING sense of humor and was so passionate about the Cosmere. Along with a handful of others, she and I helped admin a Cosmere: Theories group, dedicated to theorycraft and more serious discussion. Basically our whole friendship revolved around books as well as art. We even met and roomed together at JordanCon 2019, spending the whole time goofing off together and enjoying the fandom. Well. My best friend passed away mid-March, a couple days after my birthday. She was the one who supported my art by sending me the Sketchbox subscriptions and I sent her all the art I've made with those. I miss her a lot and I just wanted to remember her here before I post the first batch of art I've made since she passed. Let your friends know how much you love and appreciate them. Go read it, its awesome: A perpetually unfinished Azure that I was using to practice digital art on the Autodesk app on my phone. A very quick doodle of Veil, sketched late last night because I couldn't get the idea out of my head. Thank you so much! I have been getting a lot more comfortable with the different tools in Autodesk, which helps a lot. Before, I was struggling a lot with the interface and it just made me so frustrated. I find the best way to improve is to DRAW DRAW DRAW and don't stop drawing! Stockpile some references, make a folder of inspirational artwork that you want to learn from, and get a private sketchbook that you can just mess around in without being afraid of judgement. I only start improving once I practice with intent. As far as poses and styles, find references similar to what you want to draw and use them to help with the framework for your own art. Until I saw those sketches I kind of envisioned them as looking like Ultron. I do the same thing, but I also like to mix and match features from other creatures to make it fit my headcanon. I had some fun Mass Effect feels for Eshonai and Venli. Honorless Posted August 16, 2020 Report Share Posted August 16, 2020 (edited) Either the second or third one. I actually like a stark background for this, it fits well with the characters. The starry one is quite appropriate too with the theme & setting. Though the first one isn't bad with the contrast between the two characters but that's still there in the other two pictures without the... glare from the light source?
