Kidnapped women in Mistborn Era 2

Whatever happened to the four kidnapped women from Alloy of Law? At the end Wax demands that his uncle release them, but I've seen no mention of them in the next two novels, other than a reference that they still suspect the set is trying to breed an army of allomancers.

Here's the thing.  Our heroes believe that these women are being held in some horrible Handmaid'sTale-esque reproductive slavery, and they don't seem especially concerned.  All through the second book, I was asking myself, "why aren't they tearing apart Elendel looking for these women?"  Now I got a partial answer in book three where apparently they HAD been tearing apart Elendel trying to stop the Set, but had no success.  Still there was no further reference to the kidnapped women after Alloy of Law.  I re-read the ending a few times to see if there was a reference to the women being released, but I couldn't find one.  In the timeline of the series, these women have been held for a year and a half.  The implications are horrific.

I kind of hope the 4 women will turn out the be the masterminds behind the Set.  That would be much less terrifying.  I'm also hoping I missed something and maybe they were rescued and I just missed it.  Anyone know?

You can assume what you like(if it doesn't get addressed in the future) but this is my assumption. It's abit on the darker side.

Sanderson is not against writing nightmare fuel stuff. Remember the entire situation with the skaa on era 1 ? And he even wrote Tindwyl who was a breeder for the terris where her duties are done. She is an example.

So while he didn't explicitly say the resolution of the kidnapped women(which I also have a hunch it started sooner than the events of AoL) but we can already assume what likely happened they live a life of abuse and breeding children who will likely get used for hemalurgy or just child soldiers.

And about people looking for them. Think about how human trafficking happens IRL. How many never get found and escape such situation ? Even if an entire nation is looking for them they will likely never be found. I don't think the situation is different with the kidnapped scadrians.

The hero of ages can't even be trusted to help. Remember how sazed handles peoples crime ? He doesn't do something about it unless it seriously messes up his general future design or it leads to disastrous damage to the majority. So you can't even count him out to spare people from horrible fate. He probably won't even see it as a bad thing considering he is the end.

So yeah they live their life as breeders until they get found or proved worthless by set and put to death. Not fun stuff to think about but it's fiction.

People say that Sanderson stuff is lighthearted but its kinda wrong considering a lot of his stuff can be considered a situation you'd find in grimdark stuff. He just doesnt emphasis on it

Thanks for answering. I scrolled back three or four pages to see if I could find a thread on this, but there wasn't one recently.  Era 1 was set in such a dystopian nightmare world, but the spirit of swashbuckling adventure that flows through it makes me forget sometimes.
