I made character.

Spoiler

Name: Rimas Pentist

Physical Characteristics: He is 5’ 7, very muscular and has a scar on every part of his body. He has a large boxy face, and a large scar over his left eye. He has long dark red swept back hair and a thick beard. His eyes are green and his skin is sunkissed.

Investiture: None

Skills: He is extremely gifted at wielding two handed weapons such as battle axes or large blades.

Equipment: He carries a large battle axe that is designed to look like a giant blue serpent, the hilt being the body of the serpent and the head being the head of the serpent. He calls it “Jormungandr” after the norse serpent. He usually wears heavy armor.

Weakness: He is scared of the dark and terrified of the undead.

Family: He has 7 brothers and 6 sisters but his parents died years ago.

Home Planet: Earth (Medieval Fantasy)

Backstory: Rimas was born to William and Helen Pentist 37 years ago. He was the middle child of 13 so his parents didn’t pay much attention to him so he spent most of his days training to fight. When he was 15 his city was destroyed by a liegan of the undead, he managed to make it out, his parents weren’t so lucky. With their home, money, and possessions gone, he and his siblings decided that they should all split off from each other and try to make it in the world. Rimas went by himself to try and find a job, he ended up as a mercenary for hire, wandering the country looking for jobs until one day he found a portal on a road he was traveling on. He decided to try stepping into it, which he did, and came out the other side in the Alleycity. He was promptly attacked by bird headed people wielding frying pans so he decided to lay low until things calmed down. After the Bureau of Villainy was stopped he spent the next few months adjusting to his new circumstances. He eventually started taking jobs again.

Guild: Unaffiliated

Psyche: Healthy mental state

Personality: Calm, agreeable, and kind. He loves to battle and is quite bloodthirsty while fighting. Despite that he doesn’t intentionally start fights or arguments unless he feels it necessary. He is the guy who will beat you in a fight then invite you to drink afterward just to show he had no hard feelings.

Name: Thraskiss


Physical Characteristics: Tall and thin. 


Investiture: Knack. Thraskiss is the holder of two Knacks. The first Knack is the ability to make people instantly dislike him. The second Knack is the ability to know what is behind something else. 


Skills: Home cookery (He can make an excellent custard cream), scholarly type things, and is a fair hand at pieces.


Equipment: Magnification spectacles, frying pan, pieces set, scholar’s pack.


Weakness: He is inflicted with Recursive Transient Global Amnesia. He can remember main events and information. However, if he has an episode, he can forget the events from a few minutes to hours preceding the current moment.


Home Planet: Lukarvia 


Backstory: Thraskiss was an inhabitant of Lukarvia. As a holder of several difficult Knacks, he was ostracized from the community and founded a small dwelling in the wilderness. It was alright though, Thraskiss couldn’t remember where he had come from so he didn’t feel too much longing. Dragons were a problem. 


One day, Thraskiss was wandering around in the woods (He had forgotten where he was), and discovered a band of Worldhopping Inquisitors, servants of the dark lord Voidus. Due to his first Knack, the Inquisitors attacked Thraskiss, and took him prisoner. After returning to AlleyCity, Thraskiss was placed into service at the “Happy Inquisitor”. In-between shifts, at about 2:35 P.M., Thraskiss bolted from the restaurant and lost himself in the AlleyVerse. 


He still wanders today forgetting where he has been, who he has talked to, and which rebellious uprising he may have caused.


Psyche: Extremely forgetful and absent minded.


Personality: Thraskiss is kind and tries to be helpful. He also has competing values for the greater good, and the immediate good. When he awakens from his episodes he is likely to be disconcerted and make a terrible choice, then forget it and will be confused at why every one is trying to kill him.


Appearance: Tall, thin, with a kindly face and grey balding hair. I’ll try to add a picture later.

Name: Cumbert Swishysword


Physical Characteristic: Average height, bushy beard. Strong muscled arms


Investiture: None


Skills: Can slice fruit better than a fruit ninja. He also is very able at snatching, then slicing fruit, and is able to appear as having a limitless supply. His crumpets are heralded throughout the pirating world as the best in all of the British empire. He is also is great a piratey things, such as swinging on ropes hoisting the mainstay, or swabbing the poop deck. 


Equipment: Rapier, Hat, allomantic hemalurgic spike duraluminum.


Weakness: He hates cats. If you throw one at him he will scream like a girl (don’t tell him I told you that). He also has a deep aversion to sea monkeys, and sea fleas.


Family: His father: Bluebeard the ‘Not so Great’ was a caring father, and brought Cumbert up in the proper way. Equal parts, pastries and pirating. His mother was understanding of her husband, but did not approve of his drinking. There is not more to be said about Cumbert’s family life, unless you want to hear about his second cousin twice removed, Blackbeard, but who wants to hear about him?


Home Planet: Earth: Pre-Epic


Backstory: Cumbert Swishysword. 32nd most feared pirate of the second sea. Right behind Eric Bluebottom, and Edward ‘I’ll eat anything star shaped’. He was a fine buccaneer with a fine crew born and thrived in the seventeenth century in the rule of Great Britannia. 
He began his thieving career early, when he was only an infant. A robed group of men, that he vaguely remembered as having spikes in their eyes, were carrying platters covered in silvery metallic foil. These were inquisitors in the service of Voidus, dark lord of pastries. Though only a youth of 2 years old, Cumbert leaped upon the men of spikes. Unfortunately, due to his small stature he only landed on the first man’s foot. He clung with the strength of ten mice/squirrels/small rodents but the robed men were able to through him off. During the struggle, however, a small pastry had dropped from the platters. 
After the men had left, Cumbert delved into the spoils. Alas! These were no safe delicate pastries, but traps bearing hemalurgic spikes, as our Hero would later discover many years later. This hemalurgic spike gave Cumbert the allomantic ability of duraluminum, which increased the ferocity at which another metal inside of him burned. But, as Cumbert could not burn any other metals, the spike was useless.
Later in life, Cumbert Swishysword took up the pirating trade, from his father. His father on his dying day asked Cumbert to take up his own sword and carry on the family trade, namely: sailing the seven seas, and baking delicious crumpets to spite the savages of the mythical crumpetless Isle.
One day on the sea, Cumbert spotted a ferocious whirlpool. He tried to alert his crew, but their ears were stuffed with styrofoam peanuts. As the ship dipped toward the whirlpool, Cumbert lost his balance and fell into the waves. Only, they weren’t waves, but a crack in time and space to the Alleyverse.
Cumbert’s fall was broken by an inquisitor, so he survived. The inquisitor did not. 
Cumbert after viewing the Alleyverse in all its glory, decided that he had better go home. Unfortunately it was not so easily out as the portal was thirty-six feet overhead, and swiftly closed. Cumbert was in the Alleyverse for better or worse


Guild: TUBA (Or at least it will be when they get wind of his crumpets.)


Psyche: Cumbert is overpowering and extremely confident. He assumes that everyone is on his side, unless he thinks they aren’t, then he will throw fruit at you. He is well meaning, unless he’s pillaging you, but a little unconscious of any damage he may be doing to you.


Personality: Boistrous and energetic. He gets his energy from dealing with people, either at sword point, or at the other end of a table in a drinking contest.


Appearance: Fair of skin, and broad of shoulder. Cumbert Swishysword, is by no means handome, but nay is he the most wrinkled apple in the barrel.

Fighting Style: Piratical, I can assure you. With deep swings of his cutlass, a boot on the backside, and a kiwi up your nostril, is the fighting way of Cumbert Swishysword.

So...he has three Knacks. There are two there. Does he have a Knack of bad counting? Or did he forget his third Knack? :P

Thanks, I forgot about that. That would be an awesome Knack. But I don't know where Brandon Sanderson was going with this, so I was trying to keep away from using anything that would seem like a Talent. My original third Knack was ripping things, but that sounded too much like the breaking Talent.

Skills: Took drawing lessons for four years

Equipment: Vials of brass

Weakness: Overly trusting. Kind of an airhead. Unfamiliar with danger, so underestimates risks often. Has no training as a Mistborn. Physically weaker than average.

Family: Members of House Venture on Scadrial

Home Planet: Scadrial

Backstory: Allri Venture was born into House Venture of Scadrial. Though her branch of the house was considered unimportant and unlikely to inherit, she didn't mind it much. Her friends and family sometimes wished she was more interested in house politics, but Allri was happier when she was drawing. Though she sometimes wondered what lay beyond the city, she liked her life and would have been happy with more of the same. The fall of the Lord Ruler and the following skaa rebellion destroyed that life. The shock of the event made her Snap. Using some of her Soother father's vials, Allri managed to escape. However, she was now outside the city with nowhere to go and nobody to turn to. So, when a strange man offered to take her to the Alleyverse, Allri accepted. After she realized how large the world truly was, Allri decided to seek new experiences and new sights to add to her sketchbook.

Psyche: Friendly and trusting.

Personality: Adventure seeker, tends to live in the moment.

Nice character. It’s good that you didn’t add too many strengths beyond being a Mistborn, as that already brings the point value of the character pretty close to the limit, but provided you properly RP the ‘no training’ part of her weakness (eg. That means she wouldn’t be able to tell metals apart when seeking, or have finesse in emotional Allomancy etc.) then it should be good. Approved :), and I can add it to the character list if you want. If you want more feedback on it, I’d suggest posting your character sheet in this thread.

I think it works something like that. Knacks are kind of difficult, they're more of a knowing. In the original short story, one of the Knack's mentioned is hearing spelling and punctuation errors. I think Thraskiss just kind of looks at the card and has an intuitive knowledge that it's an ace of spades.

Name: Eos

Physical Characteristics: Willowy and ethereal, Eos almost looks like she has Fae blood. One thing she absolutely does have, though, is Irish heritage; her hair is a bright, firey red and she has green eyes.

Epic Abilities: 
    Animal Communication - Class C. Allows for a single bond with an animal that can be used for communication with said animal on a deeper level than should be possible. (In this case, her bond is with a Binturong, because I like the way they look.)
    Auroral Manifestation - Class A. Allows for generation of light and light-beams that are strangely reminiscent of the auroras.

Skills: Nothing special here.

Equipment: Again, nothing special, unless you count her sunglasses or her animal companion.

Weakness: Skin contact with petroleum-based products. More skin coverage = less powers.

Family: N/A

Home Planet: Calamity Earth

Backstory: Eos never really had family. She was given up for adoption early, and spent the next years of her life bouncing around from house to house, foster family to foster family. Eventually she got tired of it and hopped a train to the American Midwest, digging in as a bartender in a small town. 
And then Calamity rose. 
She stayed a bartender, mostly, but now no one says her drinks are wrong, or not quick enough. Recently, though, with the fall of Calamity, she struck out again, searching for new adventures.

Guild: None.

Animal communication - 10 points
Auroral manifestation - Would ideally need some specifics of this one to give an exact score, what intensity of light are we talking, what spectrum, what distance can they create it from, how long does it last (/ does it require active concentration)
Generally it'd run around 50 points assuming the beams are strong enough to do some damage, which is still nowhere close to the limit, so as long as you weren't planning on being able to create Gamma radiation bursts intense enough to destroy all life then I think I can safely pre-emptively approve this one.

She can create it only starting from her body, and how much they can cut depends on how much she puts into them. The stronger she wants the beam to be, the thinner it can be with the same relative effort, so in order to make one of significant power and thickness (like a really powerful cutting laser that could sever limbs in a single hit), she'd be pretty much entirely focused. They last until the energy gets dispersed (she also has no immunity to her own stuff once it's off and going).

Cool, still sounds reasonable given that's her only ability. Probably a little higher than normal, ~70 points. But ultimately still within limits.

Note: I am not a mod, this is just how I would grade it. 

Experienced Shardblade and Fabrial combat (I used as skilled Melee combat) 50 + Hemalurgy knowledge (I used as handiwork) 25 + Disguise (Also Handiwork) 25 + Shardblade 30 + fabrial 15 + Duralumin 5 + weakness -5 = 145

150 - 145 = 5. Should be good, I was torn between putting the weakness at -10 or -5.

Just as a note, if they're using a Fabrial and planning on using misting powers with it then Nicrosil would likely be what they need rather than Duralumin given that the source of the power is external.

If I'm not mistaken skill with investiture costs something, it's just not listed. I think Rig had a 10 point cost for skill with steel? So maybe something like that.

Also the spike should probably cost a bit more than the fabrial just because it can't be stolen/damaged.

Duralumin is only listed as having such a low point total because it's listed for someone who is solely a Duralumin gnat with no abilities to enhance, as soon as it becomes synergistic with another ability it's going to require more points. And as mentioned a spike with the ability will be more than a fabrial would, fabrials can be stolen, damaged or destroyed which is much harder to do for a spike. Also a fabrial can only perform a specific function whereas having the Surge itself freely available is far more versatile.

Points: 
Duralumin (35), Shardblade (30), Gravitation (30)
Melee combat: 50, Hemalurgic knowledge: 10, Disguising (25)
Weakness: -5

Total: 35M + 30 M + 30 M + 50 S + 10 S + 25 S -5W = 175

She was reminded every day that she wasn't as good as her sister and that everything was her fault. This caused her to develop her anorexia and eventually, she couldn't take it any more and murdered her mother. On her own, she was able to create her skates and her whip. No one would hurt her again unless she wanted them to. Later, she found Theresa and her older sister didn't even recognize her. In fact, she was even dismissive and cold toward her when she explained who she was. Sierra's cold anger was ignited. The way Theresa had treated her reminded her of their mother. So Sierra swore she'd get her revenge...

A quick question: Can you give a rough estimate how fast she can go on her skates? I suppose she can't defy gravity?
