I think Henry Cavill would be an excellent Kaladin. He has a brooding look, sharp features that perms scow and I always picture him when I’m reading it.  I think Shallan should be Isla Fisher, she’s one of my favorite red heads!

There was a Chinese pairs figure skater I saw in the Olympics that just screamed Dalinar to me if he were a little older. His name was Zhang Hao. Obviously not a real casting choice since his acting ability is completely unknown. But I can't unsee it now.

The main thing I am seeing is that most of the SLA cast are not white americans or brits,  the alethi look similar to people from the middle east and India. I do not know cinema in general very well and even less when it comes to countries outside of the US so I think that me trying to cast this book will not be completely accurate to the source material. But here are the few I have come up with.

Taravangian: Anthony Hopkins

Lopen: (I know this is type casting but I cant help it after antman) Micheal Pena

Rysn: Sami Gayle

Kaladin: (If the actor was younger) Alexander Siddig, I am a huge DS9 fan

Odium: Ryan Reynolds or Chris Pine or Samuel Jackson

Please no one hate me for this but since the Oathbringer art and seeing The Greatest Showman, I can't stop seeing Zendaya as Shalash. But I like the other choices on this list and Lupita is great so I'd love seeing her anywhere as well.

I like Zendaya, and I mostly just put Lupita there in the because I had to put someone there. But I can see Zendaya there.

Ooh, I like these. I still want to see the Rock as Rock, though... And 100% Idris Elba for Nale. He's got the perfect presence for it. I also like Zendaya or Lupita Nyong'o for Shalash, and I'm having trouble deciding which.

If they do open casting, I'm trying out for Syl.

I like most of your suggestions, but Nyle Dimarco is profoundly deaf... so it might be kind of difficult to have him playing a hearing character with dialogue.  But he definitely has the right look for Adolin.

I know he's deaf, but that shouldn't matter for a movie. I mean, Christopher Lambert is blind as a bat without his glasses and he did the Highlander movies and swordfights. Lou Ferigno is deaf and he did an awesome Incredible Hulk.

I can't see Dwayne Johnson as Rock. I mean the symbolism would be cool, but I don't think he has the acting ability to pull it off.

He would also be far to expensive for a show like Stormlight. 

Speaking of expensive, Paul Bettany would make a great Axies.

Same. I think Manu Bennett would be perfect as Dalinar; he certainly looks the part. And I’ve always been partial to Aidan Gillen as Sadeas, personally.

Honestly, I always imagined Pattern as having more of a robotic voice, personally. Or at the very least an ‘artificial’ sounding voice if that makes sense?
