Shin Worship of Stone and Szeth's Oathstone

I am not sure this thought was posted elsewhere, hope I'm not repeating it. Some of this could be a stretch but theories nonetheless

Is it possible that Szeth-son-son-Vallano's spren is bound or imprisoned in his oathstone? And is that why Shin consider stone sacred because spren are imprisoned in it. The fact that there is no stone in Shinovar could be the reason why there are no spren and this could imply that they have no access to Shadesmar, and hence no storms (besides the fact that they have a mountain range protecting them). Is this why they had to exile Szeth as they couldn't risk him exposing Shinovar to Shadesmar...

Moreover, Szeth is the Truthless, is his truth bound in stone? is his spren TruthSpren?

Does Szeth become free when he finds his words or his 'oath' as a Radiant?

Welcome! Unfortunately - if it's not a WoB, it's highly implied that Szeth doesn't have a spren, and isn't technically a real, legit surgebinder at all - but have an introductory upvote :)

Edit: Me being me, I would totally give you quotes but my computer is being wonky right now. I would still love more information on Szeth's rock and any magical properties therein

Szeth's inner monologue suggests that he is free to disobey the holder of his Oathstone whenever he wants.  The final scene w/Mr. T has him considering it.

I think any of his oathstone holders could free him.  Possibly by destroying the oathstone.  I wonder what he does w/the blade then?

Szeth's self talk reveals that the Shamans believe that one's spirit resides in the stone after death.  This seems to be part of their belief about the holiness of stone.

What he said!

Here's one quote.  I'm pretty sure there are others.

Interview: Feb 16th, 2013Viper

This will probably be RAFO'd, but: Is Szeth bound to a spren?

Brandon Sanderson

No. He's not. Haha, I didn't RAFO that.
