RShara
Elantris(revised) Ars Arcanum"If I can wax prosaic, it is almost as if the common letters are subjects submitting before their gods." Shouldn't that be "wax poetic" ? Prosaic is like, normal, every day hum drum, and the phrase seems more poetic or metaphorical than prosaic.
Green Hoodie Mistborn
It is a poetic phrase, maybe they were being ironic as they are discussing "common letters" submitting before the "gods" of Aons?
IndigoAjah
It's pedantry. She's not actually "technically" being poetic, and prosaic comes from the word prose, and being of prose is another meaning rather than mundane. She's taking a phrase and being rather flippant about it. I actually really like how pedantic and borderline facetious it is.
