Owwwww. How do you not learn from that?

Because he sliced himself on his own fancy one and not the one in the widget room?  Maybe he's just not connecting the "I used the blade improperly" with "leaving the blade exposed is a recipe for disaster"

Seriously? I would say that's endangering the employees of Redacted Inc.

Not hugely.  It's those small ones with just barely a corner of a blade to them, and they tend to get gummed up on tape.  It just annoys me because I'm exactly the sort of clumsy idiot who would accidentally grab the thing from the wrong end without looking closely.

Heh. I'm the kind of clumsy idiot who has actually stabbed herself with an X-acto knife in art class because I was dumb enough to cut towards my finger.

The misuse of old dystopian literature to prove a point. You know, like saying something is like 1984. It almost never is, but that does not stop people.

Recently, it's reference to the Sinclair Lewis novel, It Can't Happen Here, that is being used in a "See! We've been warned about people like Trump!"

Except that it really isn't about people like Trump, even if it is about or concerned with the rise of fascism in America. No, the despot in this novel was based on a New Deal Socialist Democrat named Huey Long, who was going to campaign on a platform that is much more similar to Sanders campaign before he was assassinated.

I mean, in an attempt to take down the other side and look "cultured" while you are at it, you end up giving ammunition to the other side. Le sigh.

Articles and blog posts touting the flaws of a vocal minority of millennials as if those flaws apply to everyone born between 1980 and 2000. Bonus points if it carries a title like "8 Harsh Realities Millennials Need to Get Used To" or "5 Things Christian Millennials Need to Stop Doing." Extra bonus points if those "flaws" aren't flaws at all, but merely components of a more liberal worldview.

And if it's illustrated with a cartoon portraying millennials as crying, screaming babies marching on Washington bearing wooden swords labeled "social justice," then no. Just no. I'm done. Have some faith in your peers.

I usually put complaints about millennial a down to "eh. The older generation always likes complaining about the younguns".

And then I pay said articles no attention whatsoever.

In my family's social circles, it's become hip for conservative Millennials to complain about theif more liberal peers. It's gotten to the point where if you post a rebuttal to one of these, you open yourself up to all sorts of accusations. So I find it more aggravating.

To be honest a lot of the problems being faced in our country today are the result of the baby boomer generation, not millennials or Gen X.

Now that being said, millennials will have to step up and try to fix said issues, but the results of that won't be known for another generation or so.

Silly us. <_< I actually saw someone on Whisper who said "You are not entitled to pay even if you work." I hope they were just trolling.

This Gen X'er says that person must be either trolling or an idiot.  Probably both.

- when someone takes the last bag of popcorn and leaves the box in the pantry

- when that someone then reads my books with greasy fingers. Only I get to do that!

- the entire concept of memes.....   not so much of a peeve as much as an incessant loathing. Rule number 1 of jokes, don't say the same joke twice!

The same goes for both sides, in my experience. It's disappointing coming from either side.

  • Acne
  • Guys who think that body spray is a shower in a can
  • People who try to sexualize everything

Welcome to the world of 14-19 teenagers :P In defense of people who overuse deodorants, during puberty some people can have a serious problem with body odor. They can take a shower and after 5 minutes smell like if they didn't wash themselves for a week.
