I agree with you. It's ok not great in my opinion but with Jim Butcher I found that they usually just get better and better as they go on. It happened with both Codex and Dresden for me. And I'm sure it will happen with this series.

I'm about two hundred pages in, and actually quite enjoying it. I'm enjoying that it's lighter than the Dresden books that I read, without loosing realness. The cats are kinda odd...maybe if I was a cat lover I'd appreciate them more.

I've finished it! It was really good. I liked the ending, reminded me of The Final Empire where you realize that what's going on is much scarier than you'd thought. The Etherialists were definitely a favorite part.
