I started The Book Thief last night. Loving it so far.

Also about halfway through The Path of Daggers audiobook, also loving that. Recently, I have finished A Crown of Swords, by Robert Jordan, and The Dragonbone Chair, by Tad Williams. Both great books.

Finished up reread of Night Angel 2 and started 3 yesterday. I should finish in time for Night Angel 4 release next month.

Im so bogged down in my rerereread of WoT 10 after getting to Perrin the Whipped sections. Only have managed about 50 pgs the past month. It was smooth sailing before I saw that rusting wolf image on title.

I finished In the Shadow of Lightning by Brian McClellan, and wow, just, wow. Definitely recommend it. That epilogue was something else.

Am now rereading An Echo of Things to Come.

I am also almost done listening to Good Omens. Mixed opinions.

And I just started the short story anthology Rogues.

I read all 11 Cradle books by Will Wight in about 6 days (Saturday through Thursday), so that was fun! They're pretty short reads (the first five combined are still shorter than the first two Stormlight books combined, at about 530k words or so) and never get too dark, so I enjoyed them. I plan on exploring more of the Progression Fantasy genre, but this was a good and fun start. I don't plan on revising the series anytime soon, but I eagerly await Book 12 in June.

I really loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by the same author, and she mainly writes books about famous women kicking the patriarchy

I need to give this one another shot. I got a few chapters in and just couldn't get in to it. I'm glad to hear you liked it though and I have liked all of his other books so. worth giving it another chance. 

I kept seeing recommendations for The Green Bone Saga on reddit and decided to give it a try. I am not really in to urban fantasy and to be completely honest there is not much "fantasy" in this but still found I enjoyed the first book and will be moving on to the second one.

Last night I finished A Memory of Light, which means that I have read through the entirety of the Wheel Of Time twice.  That's twenty-eight books.  Wow.

It's still far from my favorite series.  But that ending really is beautiful.  And I defintitely caught more the second time through.  I don't think it would be surprising if I caught more the third time, but that is a ways off, I'm rather burnt out on Randland right now.

Next, I might reread the five published Sun Eater books, since I just acquired Howling Dark and Demon in White.

Finished Night Angel 3 reread a few days ago so I’m fully ready for 4s release in a few weeks and am excited for it.

Now having to get back to Perrin the Whipped’s chapters on this WoT 10 rereread and just ugh it is hard with this particular bit of his boring rusting arc. Hopefully I can make some significant progress on the worst book of the series before Night Angel 4 hits. I’ve been reading it since 2/8/23..

never could quite understand people claiming that one was the worst book - I mean Path of Daggers has 0 Mat for the entire thing; a major blemish in mind.  though part of it is also that book 10 was the first one I had to wait on, so i was just happy to have it available finally.

8 was my worst on 2 of my reads because of that lack. I actually didn’t mind it so much this time around for some reason. 10 was always a snoozefest on past reads but this one is something extra this time around.

Just finished The Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee. I did not think I would like this as much as I did because I am not really in to Urban Fantasy. By the third book I was completely invested and I really liked how she ended the series. Overall a really good series if you are ok with some R rated content (it is not crazy but there is a lot of language and some fairly explicit sex in it).

I got Night Angel 4 ready to go later on tonight. So excited.

STARTED! Sooooo happy seeing these characters again. This book is massive too. Just about 300 pgs or so less than the 1-3 Omni so I ll likely be a good while on it.

Just finished the Summit War saga in One Piece which would place me at the halfway point of the series. I had this squarely classified as "just another shonen" for the longest time and didn't ever bother to read it. Now I would say it's some of the best fantasy I've found. The sense of adventure is great and despite having such a goofy tone most of the time, it can get extremely emotional when it chooses to, which is often. Very excited to see what happens in the New World.

I started reading LOTR The Return of the King cuz I have to help with testing for a school. It's a lot more interesting when you're already bored. A lot easier to read through the slow parts too.

I gave The Justice of Kings a shot, and I'm kinda on the fence.  Objectively, I think it's written quite well.  Personally, I don't really care for it.  But I feel like I should read it anyway, because again, it's objectively good.  

I reread Howling Dark, and wow, but I caught more this go through.  It makes me really excited to reread book three, Demon In White.

Next up is mostly just misc. books from the library.  I am halfway through the sequel to Justice of Kings, The Tyranny of Faith, but I might drop it.

Some recent ones:

Crooked House by Agatha Christie - a reread, it's been years since I read it and it's even better than I remembered. Maybe my favourite of her standalones. Still in awe at just how good she was at writing, so prolific but also so many great books.

The Hidden Palace by Helene Wecker - absolutely beautiful, the best book I've read in a long time. I was worried it wouldn't live up to the first book (The Golem and the Jinni) but it definitely did. I have a confession - I didn't really enjoy the Sophia POV chapters and skimmed most of them. Kreindel was great though, I loved her and her character arc. Hope to see more of her in book three!

Death by Bullet by John Scalzi - a fun read, though I wasn't really attached to any of the characters.

Knot of Shadows by Lois McMaster Bujold - I'm a little disappointed with this one, love the series but I found this novella rather dull. Also, she's sidelined my favourite character - Lois, I want more Nikys screentime!

The Legacy of Molly Southbourne by Tade Thompson.

Artifact Space by Miles Cameron - boring boring boring. I had a longer rant typed out, but it seemed a bit mean so I deleted it.

The Redoubtable Pali Avramapul by Victoria Goddard.

Currently reading: At the Feet of the Sun by Victoria Goddard - very wordy and has some flaws, but I'm enjoying it very much. I haven't shipped two characters this much in AGES.

Well, the trailer for Dune Part Two came out, so now I'm rereading the book.  It's a lot easier now than it was back in early 2020.

I just finished Dune for the first time, and it is SO good. The trailer for Dune part 2 gives me shivers, and the book was a masterpiece. I wish I had time to write a 300 paragraph essay about how good that book was, but I'm a busy man so I'll just say this: Reading Dune is an experience like no other. You don't want to miss that. It's feel is so different from everything I've read before, so different from a Brando sando novel or anything. It was wonderful. 10/10 right there.

I am slowly working my way through The Tower of Swallows, book four (I think) of The Witcher. It would be on my finished list already, but school has gotten way too far in the way. Fortunately, classes end in like two weeks. Whoop-dee-do.

the way it sets up Snow being evil was one of the most unbelievable--and poorly written--character arcs I have ever read. And the pacing is terrible.

I have a friend who loved it and says it's the best Hunger Games book but imo it's the worst! It's still decent but just reeeeeaaallly boring.
