I am only missing the Double Tongue, which was published posthumously... so by some definitions, my collection is complete! I was looking up some of the stuff he wrote besides Lord of the Flies. Pincher Martin, The Inheritors, and The Paper Man look of most interest to me. In what order would you rank those three books? StrikerEZ
So, this is a bit late, but my birthday was on Friday (it's Sunday night now). On Friday night, some of my friends and I went to this place called 1 Hour to Escape. Basically, it's what it sounds like, you're trapped in a room and given an hour to escape. It was so much fun, and though we were a bit panicky at the end we managed to finish with about seven and a half minutes left. We also later found out that at the very start of the hour, my dad had been pressing random buttons on the final lock and had accidentally got the right code. Would've been funny if we'd won that way, but it was more fun having to do it the right way. Yesterday I went to Barnes and Noble to spend the money I didn't gotten for my birthday to buy the first two Stormlight books. The first store we went to didn't have them both in hardcover, so they were helpful and put a hardcover copy of WoK on hold for me at a different store. When I got to the other store to pick up my book, I was short about a dollar. At the first store, I had just told them my mom's email and for some reason got a 20% discount. The guy at the counter was so nice and just gave me the discount. I felt so embarrassed that I had spent so much time trying to get another email or something to work and so grateful that he had been kind enough to help me out like that. I wanted to give him a tip, but he said he couldn't take it. It was a fun weekend, though today was pretty boring.

To be sure, Pincher Martin and The Inheritors are waaay more difficult reads than Lord of the Flies, but they are worth it! Pincher Martin in particular left me breathless at the end.

Darkness Ascendant
Yesterday was a bad day, but today was a good one :1 Won our soccer finals, (I play grade at school as well), easy season tbh, breezed through undefeated. And I bought meself a book (SSH don't tell dad) A After reading the back, noticed similarities to sanderson xD First bit-Adonalsium and the shattering Second bit- Fainlife Last bit- The Final Empire A fellowship united against tyranny Yet composed of self righteous outlaws, crippled turncoats and amoral mercenaries Kelsiers gang and TlR That's a lowercase l "When two formidable highlanders save the life of a young rebel" I swear if this rebel is female xD Anyway I should start this assignment that is due tomorrow morning!

Darkness Ascendant
So today we went to the Casula Powerhouse Art Gallery as an excursion! We made a bunch of pasteups (Mine are the teacups with the hands coming out of them, the hand with the eye in it and the gramophone guy) Spoiler Someone had a message in Tengwar! That extra curve at the start is throwing me off. Someone halp xD ^collab with that guy No I'm not a skinhead, not sure about him tho. Then we went on a tour around the place Spoiler These ashtrays were in hospitals back when smoking wasn't seen as a bad thing. The artist here did a thing on them because her father had been critically ill, and in the hospital people would smoke around him, worsening his condition. Accidentally had the camera settings on something else and took this cool pic by accident xD This exhibit is weird to explain. That's a circuit they added themselves to project the sounds of a forest, with bits of that forest around and a little monitor with a video of the forest playing. (I thought it just looked cool ) Another one of their items. (That's a plug at the end) This one was soooo coool!!!!! (This gallery was dedicated to dogs) Ok so the next one is really good. When cancer patients get laser treatment, they have to get a face and neck mask and have to be strapped to the scanner for 30 minutes each day to allow the lasers to target the cancer cells. These are some of their masks which they personalised. (the last few were made from breaking up toys and painting and gluing them to the mask) Then lastly we went out to check out the designated Street Art Silo Spoiler All I had was a sharpie XD drew another gramophone guy BlackPink xD I ran out of time >.< Needed to run to make the train :/ You Aus sharders should go to Casula and tag cosmere stuff too XD woo Edited September 6, 2017 by Darkness Ascendant I don't understand what happened there

I just got back from the cinema. The movie was great, very refreshing in the horror genre. I hope you'll have as much fun as we had
AngelEy3
@Calderis @Mestiv Saw It this morning myself. Very good horror film. Unsettling in the way of some of the best King vibes I've ever had from an adaptation. This was at the theatre we went to see It at. Jondesu
Hurricane Irma seems to be slowly moving further away from us (well, the track is). We learned in 2004 never to trust the tracks, but it’s still nice to see.
Jondesu
Sorry for the double post, but it seems appropriate in this case. Irma did not miss us, but despite taking a fairly direct hit, we have only minor damage to our shed, none to the house, and we’ve had power at our in-laws house, where we stayed during the storm, since just about 24 hours after the storm passed through. Considering their neighbors still don’t have power, we’re very grateful.

Steeldancer
So my new English teacher came up to me and asked me whether I wouldbe reading in class. I said I was sorry, and would try not to do it again. She said she had never had that issue before. I said "well it is with me. All the time."

I also once read our required reading too fast, and was assigned an extra book (it was Hamlet, so it wasn't that long).

Darkness Ascendant
Ah I love myself some good old brainyquote, really gets the little grey cells moving amirite? So I finally watched GoTG2 Spoiler I flippedyflipping knew it. Ever since I saw flipping Yondu in the first movie. I was like "NAAAH It can't be the same, for one thing his headpiece thing is different!" But then he flipping gets the prototype and I'm staring at it in awe going HELL YES, then he dies and I'm like welp. BUT THE ORIGINAL GOTG I STORMING KNEW IT.
