CaseyJewels
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but I've always listened to Writing Excuses on iTunes. Back in November I had some issues with iTunes that wouldn't allow me to even see if new episodes for all of my podcasts were available. With each update, it's been Writing Excuses that I've used to see if the problem is fixed. However, today I realized all of my other podcasts work, and it's just Writing Excuses that doesn't. I searched the iTunes store, and said podcast does not show up. When going to iTunes from clicking the iTunes feed button on the main page of writingexcuses.com, iTunes gives the error message that the podcast is no longer available. So, is this just my computer being stupid, or has Writing Excuses really been pulled from iTunes? If it is the later, I would really like it back.
Crisagrm
I had a similar problem. I bought a new computer and now I can't find Writing Excuses on iTunes to subscribe! Anyone know what's going on?
stormvisions
Have you tried navigating to writingexcuses.com and following the links to the itunes podcast from their - I click and the links seem good when I do. Perhaps you can do that and subscribe that way?
PeterAhlstrom
It's frustrating because Apple doesn't have a way to associate a podcast with an account and look at a status page to see why it's not showing up. So, I'm emailing my Apple contact again...
CaseyJewels
Have you tried navigating to writingexcuses.com and following the links to the itunes podcast from their - I click and the links seem good when I do. Perhaps you can do that and subscribe that way? I tried that, and the message I get from iTunes is "Item Not Available. The item you've requested is not currently available in the U.S. store." PeterAhlstrom, hopefully they're able to work out what went wrong. I've noticed iTunes isn't very user friendly when it comes to podcasts.
Robinski
Here, here - iTunes less than friendly to many things - including Podcasts.
stormvisions
I do note that if I open Safari and paste the url into the address bar http://www.writingexcuses.com/feed/podcast/ then pick from the right sidebar "Subscribe in iTunes' I get a list of the last 10 episodes and am able to download those 10. I right clicked on the podcast name in iTunes and 'Mark all as unplayed' and it downloaded them right away. stormvisions
Ok here is another workaround if you want older items.. Using the Safari browser again I find you can go to the individual year archives and subscribe as described above. The format is like below. Try changing the year and you should be able to subscribe to all the years you need. http://www.writingexcuses.com/2010/feed/ this got me subscribed to season 5 though it looks like it might only get the first 9 or so of each season, unless you are willing to also add the month parameter and subscribe by year/month blocks http://www.writingexcuses.com/2010/05/feed/ which got me May 2010's items (the months all have to be 2 digit i.e.'02') Edited March 26, 2015 by stormweasel

I thought I tweeted something about it in the past week, but can't find it anymore. However, it looks like the Writing Excuses Twitter account posted some updates today that the kinks should have been worked out and we are just waiting on propagation across the internet (or some such) However, to the post quoted above, is that only Safari on Mac? I'm not getting anywhere trying this on PC. The links open up in xml code.
stormvisions
Hi. That's good news. I used Safari on Windows 7. In any case it looks like it has best to wait a bit. Feel your pain though.
Kaa
I hate to necro this post, but this still isn't working. I have 70 or so podcasts subscribed in iTunes, and this one and Rude Alchemy routinely claim they can't connect to download new episodes in iTunes. The feed is THERE, but for whatever reason, iTunes can only see it about once every three weeks.
