WLIU, name seven philosophers who are not ethicists. Bonus points if you can give me those who lived in at least the twentieth century onwards and if you can give me a mix of sub-fields.

Seeing as there has been no forthcoming answer, I'm going to provide the answers and then ask a different question.

1. Martin Heidegger (existential phenomenologist, 20th C)
2. Edmund Husserl (phenomenologist, 20th C)
3. Arthur Danto (aesthetics and philosophy of history, some philosophy of language, 20-21st C)

4. David Chalmers (metaphysician and philosopher of mind, 20-21st C)

5. Ned Block (cognitive scientist and philosopher of mind, 20-21st C)

6. Massimo Pigliucci (philosopher of science, ecologist, evolutionary biologist, 20-21st C)
7. Graham Priest (logician, 20-21st C)

Given the question asked by the person before me, this is somewhat ironic: any scientist who lived before the 18th-19th century would've passed muster as a philosopher. A trivial point is that they considered themselves natural philosophers--the term 'scientist' and the idea of science as a formal profession took a long time to come about. The second thing is that most of those natural philosophers did take it upon themselves to write works of philosophy. So names such as Avicenna, Francis Bacon and Isaac Newton himself are all acceptable.

My new question: Name me five female scientists, historical or present.

16. Abraham Lincoln

17. Andrew Johnson

18. Ulysses S. Grant

Finally, a question I can answer! (even if it is quite a bit easier for someone in the UK compared to America)

  1. Manchester United
  2. Manchester City
  3. Celtic
  4. Queen's Park Rangers
  5. Queen's Park
  6. Leeds United
  7. Newcastle United
  8. Arsenal
  9. Crystal Palace
  10. Southampton
  11. Bonus mark, and one not in the UK - Barcelona

I'm not a football fan, but this just goes to show how much of an influence it has on life here in the UK if I can think of them without caring about any of them. Bit of a cheat though - Practically every small or large town here has a football club, and we haven't got particularly interesting names. I could have added the terrible ones for small towns, but I'll leave that aside.

The only one that got me was I was going to add Wolverhampton, but turns out that it's not the full name of the club. It's Wolverhampton Wolves FC. I also couldn't tell you where some of these are, other than the obvious and that 3-5 are Scottish (I think) and Crystal Palace is... London? I don't know. But in any case, critereon met!

For those of you who don't know what a psychopomp is, it is the person who guides souls somewhere. Just to let people who, like me, didn't know what it meant, and since I looked up a definition I am now disqualified from answering.

There are a couple of possible definitions for minor.  1) they don't get much screentime, or 2) they don't have a huge impact on the plot of the story or of the fate of the cosmere.  I'm using characters that satisfy either one of these conditions, not both.

Some of these may become major later, but at this point they're still minor.

1 Khriss

2 Frost

3 Nazh

4 Felt

5 Grump

6 Bavadin

7 Kar

8 Sureblood

9 Ishikk

10 Ym

11 Axies

12 Geranid

13 Ugly Lizard-Crab Thing

14 Stick

15 Jak

16 Cenn

17 Aona

18 Skai

19 Ashir

20 JRR Tolkien

WLIU, name 50 gods from mythology, fiction, real religions, or fake religions.  Yes, the stick counts.  Yes, Morgan Freeman also counts.  See, now you only need 48.
