Long Game 6: Daes Dae'Mar, The Great Game

Recommended Posts

Nath went hunting again today. The town had been very quiet after they had found out about the massacre last night. Instead of finding any animals Nath found Joel's cabin. While exploring it Nath found large stockpiles of food inside. Knowing that Joel had been killed, Nath helped himself to some of Joel's food. On his way back to town it started to rain and a large animal ran past him... was that Bela? What was that on her neck? Did they try to hang a horse? "Witless probably tried it," Nath thought.

Walking into town Nath found that Gade's inn had been renamed the Waffle House and that the owner, Khasmi Zareef, is now the mayor. Taking it all in Nath realized that he should stop leaving the town during the day.

I totally lied last night didn't I? I will have to post on Day 4. Or I will try. I swear nothing was happening Day 3 then as soon as I left everyone started voting for mayors and lynches. Also by hunting and not killing anything I avoided the A.S.E.T.A.

Well Khamsi is evil.

Guys, don't just follow one person because they are really cool and funny and good at RP (compliment intended).  How did this happen?  Everybody piled onto do exactly what Khamsi did!  You really thought the darkfriends would kill everybody who voted for a darkfriend?!

Also, just in case this sounds harsh, you should all know that you are beautiful people and I think the absolute best of you.

edit: I had to add an exclamation point.

Well, crap. I was sure about that one. And the storming horse kicked me!

...wait.

Hold up.

Making a faulty deduction means I'm now evil? By this logic, anyone who has accused anyone else who turned out to be innocent is evil as well. I analyzed the situation, saw a pattern and saw inconsistencies, and felt I had made a logical deduction. I stated my decision, and other people thought it made sense and went with it. There was an equal probability that I would have been seen as tilting at a windmill, and votes would have gone elsewhere.

And it turned out I was wrong. It happens. Without access to pure, concrete evidence, everything we do - unless you have a role that tells you exactly what you need to know - has a margin of error and the possibility to be wrong. I made the most logical decision I could, with the information that I had.

It probably would have helped as well if the horse had put up a defense...

The vote could've easily gone to Trimat though, but he deftly defended himself, and that was what was lacking with the whole Bela affair.

There was no voice to defend him so he must not have bothered to give his role to the ones openly asking for it. In hindsight, we should've seen that the lack of defense meant that he wasn't in collusion with the rest of the DF's, who would've stepped up to prevent the lynching (or non-lynching as in the case of the horse) from happening.

On Khamsi's darkfriendedness, Newan, what indication did you see that made you say she is evil? I can just as easily say Awes is evil. Or that you are. If I wanted to throw suspicion around.

Do you have concrete evidence backing you up (except for Khamsi's faulty deduction) which was shared not just by me, but by a few others who just didn't bother to cast the vote anymore because they were enough.

Note that I'm not saying this to defend her. I mean her waffles are A-mazing, but I need to know what made you single her out of all the others who voted for the same thing.

Using RP to make everyone like you and think you're good is a classic bad guy move.  Didn't Quiver do that in game 2 or something?

As Wilson said, it looked like Bela was either a darkfriend and had killed all those people, or that Bela was being set up by the darkfriends.  Well, Bela isn't a darkfriend, but if nobody had gotten the ball rolling, all of their hard work setting her up would have been for naught.

That avalanche vote was really fast.  Within two hours, five other people had voted for you as mayor and four had voted for the lynch of Bela.  I'm sure they're not all darkfriends, but I would be extremely surprised if a few of them weren't.  Bandwagons only benefit the darkfriends.  I know it's not your fault that the people bandwagoned, but you did play the waffle card to instantly gain the affection of all the waffle-worshippers in this game.

Also, your accusation required an assumption of complete incompetence of the darkfriends (a group who has managed to completely avoid detection so far).

I know that none of this is absolutely conclusive, but the conclusion that you are a darkfriend is the most logical decision I can make with the information I have.  See what I did there?

An Extension has been requested and the Night Turn will last the full 48 hours. That leaves ~18 hours from the time of this post until the Cycle Ends.

And aw, why is nobody RP'ing and having fun in the awesome storm I summoned for all of you?     = (

"Blood and ashes," Khamsi muttered to herself as she stood at the common room's fireplace. She sloshed the glass of brandy in her hand for a moment before draining it in a single swallow. The smooth burn dulled the lingering pain from the horse's kick earlier, although despite Rishi's attempts to mix up a salve the bruise still remained.

"Blood and bloody ashes," she scowled into the empty glass, and was tempted to hurl it into the fire. Wisdom got the better of her, however, and she held onto it. For one thing, it could be refilled.

She fell into a chair and held out her glass. Rishi appeard almost from nowhere, pouring from the bottle until the glass was full again. Khamsi held off on taking another drink, instead swirling the dark brown liquid, her eyes locked on the fire.

"I was so sure," she said, sighing. "Bloody buttered onions on a sarsa I was certain that horse was evil. But no... it seems my first act as mayor is to attempt to hang a horse." She snickered a bit, the sideways innuendo tickling her drowning mind. She took a drink. "That shounds like a shtory, dontcha think it shounds like a shot- a shrot- a shtory?"

"Mistress-"

"It does!" Khamsi said, bolting to her feet and startling the poor girl. "It shounds like a hilarious shtory!" She drained her glass, then ran unsteadily to the bar, grabbing an unused ledger as well as pen and ink. Moments later, Khamsi was giggling to herself as she wrote frantically, her face covered in small ink smudges.

------

The mayor thing began as just a funny RP post while I was chatting with Wilson, and the first line came to me. Then she gave me a reply from Witless, and I thought it was too good to just let go. The main reason I play these games is as an excuse to come up with fun and entertaining characters to roleplay and write for.

I had no idea anyone would vote for me. xD

Day 4: The Perfect Storm

As the storm that had gathered over Drell's Crossing finally broke, all of the villagers immediately ran for their homes, locking themselves indoors and hiding away for the evening. As it got later into the night, the down-pouring of rain steadily increased until the streets of the village were rivers of mud and debris, with frequent strikes of lightning that would light up the entire night sky, causing deafening cracks of thunder that left the ground rumbling.

***

Malai stumbled his way through the flooded streets, struggling against the fierce blowing winds that threatened to knock him over. As soon as he set foot outside his door earlier in the night, he had become immediately drenched, as the endless cold rain soaked him down to his bones and the raging wind pushed him along, plastering his wet clothes to his skin.

I'm a bloody fool. He cursed at himself again, once again thinking back to the warm hearth back at the stable he could have been wrapped up around, enjoying a nice pipe of Two Rivers tabac. But I at least need to try.

He had decided earlier that what he was doing so far wasn't good enough, and that he needed to try harder. Stopping in the middle of an intersection, he wondered once again what good his power was to the village in the current times to be able to smell crime after it happened. Realizing that waiting until another atrocity to happen wasn't the best course of action, he had come out into the storm hoping that he could use his thief-catching abilities to track down the murderers either during or before they committed their atrocities.

Malai was so focused on trying to sniff the air – hoping, praying to The Creator – trying to catch any scent of evil before it struck, that he didn't notice the figure stealthily creeping up behind him, with the noise of their sloshing footsteps drowned out in the endless pattering of the constant rain on the rooftops. As a brief flare of light caught Malai's attention down an alleyway to his right, he spun just in time to see the gleam of the dagger as it pierced right into his heart.

As he fell to the ground, his senses were overwhelmed by the most foul, terrible stench he had ever smelt, and his last thoughts were of cursing the irony of his own death being the last thing he would ever smell.

***

Sprenil, the carpenter, sat safely inside of his shop, sweatily working away as he sawed at a board of wood, following along his carefully traced line. In times as dire as this, every scrap of wood was vital and could not be wasted, and even he could not help but feel some small guilt as he finished his cut and the the board fell to the ground with thud, kicking up a small pile of sawdust in a puff as it landed. He coughed and waved his hand to clear the air in front of his face as went to go pick the board up, wondering again if this was the best use of the villages sources.

He paused for a second, then shook his head while he grabbed a handful of nails from his work table nearby. Until those flaming fools can get their acts together, I think I'm safer in here.

Sprenil had spent the evening boarding up all of the windows in his house and reinforcing his doors with heavy, strudy sliding wooden crossbars. As the village's only carpenter, he knew he was important for the defense of the town, as he was the only one who could properly maintain the recently erected palisades. So who could blame him for making sure he was protected?

He raised his arm to drive another nail into the board when he heard an audible snap and saw his solid-steel hammer head crack into two pieces and fall clean off the handle. He sat in stunned silence as he stared at the broken tool in his hand, and felt a cold shiver break out all over his body. He slowly got to his feet, visibly shaking, and after quickly searching around the room, he realized with horror that his spare hammer was outside in his supply shed.

Summoning up his courage, he flung himself towards his door with a cry, and tore it open to be greeted with blasting winds and freezing rain pelting his skin instantly. Without thinking, he immediately broke to the right and ran out into the night, splashing up mud and water in his wild dash, trying to make it to his shed as quickly as possible. Dashing frantically, he rounded the corner without even looking, and was so stunned to see the large Dragons Fang scrawled onto his shed, he didn't even notice the fireball as it came up behind him and struck him in the back before he could even let out a shriek. As the smoke cleared, his lifeless, burnt corpse fell to the ground with a splash.

***

Senna stalked through the nights, on the prowl and ready to strike. She had used to be a peaceful, simple person, who had once enjoyed the pleasant relaxation of weaving. What had once started as a hobby had eventually grown into a profession. Providing clothing and other fabrics for the villagers had once brought her joy, but then the Moon began to call to her, and she felt to the rush of blood as the urge to hunt grew and grew, out of control.

At first she hadn't understood what was happening, and thought maybe she had been cursed by the Dark One. But during one full moon many years ago, when she thought she had finally lost herself and gave into the impulse to flee out into the night and seek prey, she had truly found herself. Or rather, her pack had found her. To her nocturnal brethren, she was known as a two-legged, but when she was with the wolves, feeling the thrill of the hunt at night, she felt less human and more beast. She knew that it was possibly dangerous, but when Darkfriends had invaded Drell's Crossing, she had become blinded by her rage. Despite being constantly associated with the shadow, wolves were the fiercest enemy of the dark, with her being told tales of whole packs of wolves sacrificing themselves just to take down a single Myyradal. Neverborn, they called them.

So excited at the prospect of the hunt, she didn't even let herself be bothered by the raging storm that was building over the village, she ignored the ferocious winds as she was buffeted by debris that left slashes and cuts all over her arms and legs. She was on a mission, and she would not let herself be distracted. Thick, swirling storm clouds blocked out the moon above, but she still howled to it with glee, sending out a message to her pack, asking who they wanted to hunt tonight. Her mouth was starting to water as she could already taste the sweet blood, and with her golden eyes shining in the dark, she set out to find a target.

So eager to find a victim, Senna began to recklessly stalk through the streets, abandoning all sense of caution as she began to run corner to corner, choices of who to hunt racing through her mind. Sudden images and thoughts filled her mind, as she came to a sudden halt, eyes growing wide with terror.

Danger, two-legged! Hide! She didn't realize it was too late until she felt the cold bite of steel as it drove in between her ribs. She let out a vicious snarl and tried to swipe at her attacker, but her sudden motion made the blade twist inside of her, and it drove her to her knees with a wave of pain. Desperately, she sent one last plea to the gray wolf that had saved and found her those many years ago.

They are safe. Smoke replied, sending images of her children, Lien and Robbie, being escorted out of the village by a group of wolves. We will raise your pups. See you in the World of Dreams, Mother Cub. Hundreds of wolves cried out into the night sky in mourning, their howls combining with the roaring of the storm, rising into a maddening crescendo. Knowing her children were out of the village and safe, Senna closed her eyes happy, looking forward to the hunt in the next life.

***

The storm continued to wage on over top of Drell's Crossing, increasing in ferocity with each fatality in the night, and just before dawn broke, it had become a full tempest, as the clouds began to swirl faster and faster and started dipping in towards the ground. Gales shrieked through the air and hail fell from the sky, pelting all of the homes and villages as lightning danced freely in the sky.

A column of air, blackened with the mud and flying debris, spinning around at high intense speeds began to rise towards the sky and combined with the dipping storm clouds from above, coalescing into the perfect storm, and free to rage through the village. The vortex of winds created unimaginable gusts of wind that began to rip boards and tiles off of the sides and roofs of houses, as tiny shreds of wood or other matter shot around at high speeds like shrapnel, with a deafening roar of noise that was only beat out by the thunderous cracking and groaning and entire wooden structures were rooted from the ground and tossed up into the air.

All of the villagers fled from their houses in wide-eyed terror, as the very sky had come down like the hand of the Dark One and wrecked their city. Grouping together and watching the massive destruction, the remaining villagers ran to seek refuge at The Golden Waffle, remembering the Cellar that Gade, the former innkeeper, had dug out and added many years ago.

Weak, cold, and shivering, the villagers huddled together in the dark, dank cellar to ride out the storm, as the howling winds above played tricks on their airs and they thought they heard the voices of the dead cursing at them and beckoning them towards death.

It was many hours until dawn finally broke, and the survivors of the night let themselves back out into the chaos-filled streets above. They exited the cellar to find only the Town Hall remaining standing, it's solid stone-frame having been able to withhold the terrible storm the night before. Everything else in the village lay in ruins, utterly destroyed and ripped apart.

The Waffle House* was completely wrecked, as the front wall and roof were completely torn off, but still standing, set into the foundation of the building, the door frame was still standing, with the door still hanging on, attached by one hinge. Tacked to the door, perfectly undisturbed, was a note:

Here I am at the midnight hour. 4
Be ye not afraid, of the creaking from the door. 34
The blood on this knife, fills me with power. 25
The dust, debris, and cobwebs may hide things you're looking for. 12
A wondering soul as it passes the gates, 7
Slowly crawling across the wall, the subtle beam of light 12
is suddenly snatched by the one who waits. 25
provides enough to read by on the dreariest of night. 14
Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared,
They must be collected, every last one. 4
Give no thought to ghostly steps, that tip toe cross floor, 14’
Oh little villagers, it has almost begun. 7
for its only earthly tremors and a draft against the door. 11
You may have felt a shiver, running down your spine. 14
Why does one explain away the atmosphere in here? 25
It is merely a collection of souls, of which I shall combine. 14
Yet all who enter in this place are captives of its fear. 15
screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
They told you to look toward the shadows, but you they have deceived. 149
Explain away with all your might, and argue with your demon. 4
I have told you multiple times, they are not to be believed. 7
Curse the day that you were born and pray that you're forgiven. 14
You have been foolish, thinking you can win... 4
And put away all daunting thoughts, 34
Oh little villagers, you do make me grin. 9
of why the doors keep creaking.

"So much destruction..." Nath thought as he looked at what remained of the town. Rebuilding would be a very difficult job and wouldn't accomplish much because the coming Trollocs would just destroy it all again. But it would give people something to do and keep their minds distracted. So Nath started to find some tools to rebuild the Waffle House with. That is a lot of destruction, and you know it's bad when the quiet person is the first to post.

Grimlar was only really sure of one thing in this world. Well, really two. The first was that for some reason it was written in the Pattern like nothing else that he was to drink. Everyone had a purpose to fulfill in the Pattern, it was true. Waes was meant to make shoes; Khamsi produced music and strange foods called waffles; Jim Bob Dirt had been meant to sell dirt; Leas Fel was meant to fight. And Grimlar, well, he was meant to drink. He didn't know what greater purpose his drinking served, but clearly it was entirely inescapable for him. Would its reason show itself soon? Grimlar wasn't sure; he was only sure of two things. The second was that he was sure of the first thing of which he was sure. He supposed he maybe was sure of a third thing, and that was that he was sure of the second. But then wouldn't he be sure of three facts? Well, he figured, the number of things of which he was sure was alas not included in that list. So his perpetually drunken mind settled on being sure of only two things. Two truths, he could keep track of. Kept things simple.

Therefore, Grimlar really wasn't sure where he had woken up this morning. He was pretty sure it had been among the ruins of the newly-rechristened Waffle House. But he couldn't be certain of that, of course. But was he certain he wasn't certain? Never mind that. The Creator had made other people to think, not Grimlar.

The last few days had been brutal, that was sure, maybe. Only fifteen of the twenty five who had stayed to protect Drell's Crossing remained, and Grimlar was somehow among them. Light, but this was too much for him. Everyone accusing everyone else, he knew not what to think; not that he often did know, but still. And those strange messages being left by the so-called Dreamwalker? Few seemed to know what to make of them. However, Grimlar had been able to make out part of the message left within last night's chilling poem. A statement in the Old Tongue, reading "Inde sedai a'shadar mesain ye!", or, "No servant of Shadow am I!". A bold statement from the Dreamwalker indeed. Along with that message, Grimlar had been able to decipher another, less hidden one: "Death is lighter than a feather", part of the well-known phrase "Death is lighter than a feather, duty heavier than a mountain". Grimlar had alas been unable to decipher the final message hidden in the poem, an odd string of letters he found meaningless.

It was a quiet day here in Drell's Crossing. One could feel the absence of so many good men and women like honey in the air. As one slugged through the streets, one felt as if he or she were pushing through think mud. A residue was left upon the soul, darkening everything, giving all a sense of dirtiness and dearth. It was nearly unbearable. And the storm had just begun, Grimlar feared. No Servants of Shadow had been rooted out yet.

Drink had prevented him from much discussion the last couple days, but today he knew he needed to act now. Therefore, fining his way to a group of people desultorily slugging around, he declared, "Khamsi, I know you have done wondrous things with your invention of the waffle and saving the inn. I know you have been elected Mayor, for today at least; we of Drell's Crossing are a fickle people." The villagers gave Grimlar a strange look. Not the look they used to give him. No, this was a different look; Grimlar was fairly sure of that. Was this look a good look? He couldn't be sure. "However, I wonder about you, Khamsi. Nothing has seemed right about you this whole time. Bursting into town, dazzling us with your music, staying to defend. Then lifting our spirits, saying so much while saying nearly nothing at all. Then leading us in a vote, eventually killing an innocent. Yes, I am sure - somewhat - that people can be wrong. But it all simply does not add up to me. Of course, Creator knows my reasoning can be bad at times. I'm not saying I'm sure you're a Darkfriend; I'm only sure of two things, and my surety of that fact is not one of them. However, I would like to hear you defend yourself, as well as what others have to say about you.

"But, most importantly, Khamsi, with the Waffle House gone, how am I going to get anything to drink?"

Anyone who tends to skim over long RP posts, please pay attention to the green, where I translated some of the messages left by the Dreamwalker. I also provided my reasons for calling Khamsi out in Grimlar's speech following the red. They are not given exactly as they are in my mind, as they are altered to Grimlar's reasoning; however, you should be able to tell where I am coming from. I hope we can still get some public discussion going; it seems people have may settled more into PM groups, and while it is fine to discuss with those you trust more, we still need to discuss publically. Maybe it is just that many of those left are not as active players; regardless, let's keep talking in this thread. :)

I also will vote for the death of Khamsi.  I explained my reasoning here if anybody missed it.

Edit: not color this time, if you can believe it!  I had to fix the darn link.

I am only going to have access to mobile 17S for the rest of the game, and minimally at that. :(

My game is probably over now. It was fun playing with Y'all

Edit: therefore, I vote TRIMAT for the lynch, because I'd rather not be tempted to play at camp.

Khamsi sat on the charred remains of a stool, staring into the middle distance. Around her were the ruins of The Waffle House. Lingering among the rubble were spots of sticky syrup and the scent of fresh waffles, enticing all who came to gawk.

It was the tastiest rubble anyone had ever smelled.

"All gone.." she mumbled, repeating the phrase every few seconds. "All gone... all gone... all gone..." She pulled a flask from inside her cloak and took a long swig. The alcohol did little to dull the shock, but it did send a very pleasing warmth throughout he rbody. That was something, right?

Rishi wandered around the ruins, occasionally shooting worried glances her way. Khamsi ignored her for now; the poor dear was probably more worried about how she would support her family than she actually was for her.

She heard her name, and blinked, looking up to locate the source. She found a crowd of people standing near... some guy. She recognized him - he'd been in her inn since she'd reopened it. Literally, he'd actually been inside before she'd finished hanging the sign. Gram... Grem... Grum. That was it. Grum Pail. Must make buckets for a living when not drunk.

However, I would like to hear you defend yourself, as well as what others have to say about you."

It took a moment to register what he was saying. Khamsi blinked, slowly rising to her feet as the accusation sank into her brandy-muddled mind. She staggered a bit, making her way to the group.

"But, most importantly, Khamsi, with the Waffle House gone, how am I going to get anything to drink?"

She smiled, slipping back into a professional demeanor. "My friend, I have that last question answered easily," she said, pulling the flask out from her cloak again. She tossed it to him, noting the look of joy on his face as he pulled out the stopper and began pouring the expensive spirits down his gullet. "Grum, we have known each other for so long - since before I even opened this inn, in fact. You were there the very first day. My very first, and most loyal patron." She paused, bending down to pick through some rubble for a moment before pulling out the charred remains of a stool, miraculously with all the legs intact, if much shorter. She grinned broadly as she set it down at his side, patting the seat. "Ha! Look at that, I found your stool! Here, have a seat."

With a soft sigh, she looked back out over the destruction again. "In all the time we've known each other, Grum, have you ever known me to be untrustworthy? Have any of you, for that matter? Yes, I swept into town with a big show meant to capture your eyes, ears, and hearts, but what else would one expect from a purveyor of glee such as myself? Lifting spirits is my calling, bringing joy to the hard-working and hard-living. I've stayed originally because of the contract I signed with the mayor before he died, but I've grown to love this little speck of a village. It's been my home for so long, longer than any other place I have visited in years. My inn and my waffles have become my life, along with providing the best entertainment I could in these trying times.

She turned back to the villagers. "Are you really saying that, after all this time we've known each other, that you no longer trust me?"

Rishi quietly stepped forward and tapped Khamsi on the shoulder, gesturing with a finger for her to come closer. "Yes?" Khamsi asked as she leaned down. Rishi whispered into her ear. Khamsi blinked. "What do you mean it's only been two days?"

Khamsi blinked, straightening back up. "Well, everything I've said is still true. And I admit to making a mistake with the horse, but I thought at the time that I was right. There are stories, I'm sure you've heard, of Shadowspawn that can change their shape. And if, Light forbid, we are dealing with one of the Forsaken... the stories say they can work the One Power in ways that Aes Sedai of today can only dream of. I thought the horse seemed too smart to be a horse - I still stand by that belief, by the way; bloody beast was far too clever. And when nobody, not even it's owner, stepped forward to defend it, it was further proof in my eyes."

She glanced toward the post Bela had once used, which was, miraculously, still standing. "Seriously, anyone know who owned that horse?"

Bending down, Khamsi picke dup the shattered remains of The Waffle House's sign, brushing some grime from it. "I don't know who is behind these terrible murders, or the Trollocs that are coming soon. I know it's not me, but how can I make any of you believe that? Before we start flinging accusations at people, perhaps those with information should come forward so that everyone can have a reasonable discussion about this, rather than acting on emotion."

She snapped a finger suddenly, looking back up. "Hey, since I'm mayor, can I just make murder without trial illegal? No? Well, then lets just do the other thing I said."

----

Since the accusation came in RP, I thought it best to respond in RP. I mean everything in it; I don't know as much as many other people claim they do. I may have been on the Strategic Council Thing, but everyone on there held back more than they gave, from what I could see. Considering who died last night - two of our most valuable roles - it can be safe to say that either the people who knew of them are behind it, or that there is a leak among those they trusted. The only one I know who knew who they were was Waes, although Wilson and Aonar may have as well. I'm not saying any of them are guilty, and Aonar, as far as I've heard, has been confirmed trustworthy.

Another thing to consider, however - there have been TWO fireballs now. One that killed Padan Fain, and one that killed an innocent villager. We've been working on the assumption that the first was a Darkfriend who got lucky, but have we considered that maybe it wasn't? Maybe, somehow, a village channeler figured something out and did the deed. And perhaps last night, the Darkfriends wasted their only Fireball on an innocent hoping they were someone more powerful?

Any proof for this? Not a bit. But I think it's something worth considering.

The standings:
15 players remain
9 villagers have been eliminated
1 Padan Fain has been removed
0 players are corrupted
5 players are on the darkfriend team, assuming the standard 20% team evil ratio
1 of the five darkfriends is the Forsaken

There are reasons that a lower ratio could have been used, but assuming the worst is better for strategy.

With the loss of the Wolfsister and two fireballs used, our only means of dealing with the darkfriends is lynching. Unless there is a third Channeller, which I doubt.
With the Forsaken still in play, the darkfriends can kill two villagers per night.

- 10 vs 5 -
If we lynch a villager today:
- 9 vs 5 -
Night four:
- 7 vs 5 -
Day five, if another villager is lynched:
- 6 vs 5 -
Night five:
- 4 vs 5 -
Game over, villagers lose

- 10 vs 5 -
If we lynch a darkfriend today:
- 10 vs 4 -
Night four:
- 8 vs 4 -
Day five, if another darkfriend is lynched:
- 8 vs 3 -
Night five:
- 6 vs 3 -
Day six, if another darkfriend is lynched:
- 6 vs 2 -
Night six:
- 4 vs 2 -
Day seven, if either the darkfriend or the Forsaken is lynched:
- 4 vs 1 -
Night seven:
- 3 vs 1 -
Day eight: Could end in a villager win here, might not.
- 2 vs 1 -
Night eight:
- 1 vs 1 -
Day nine: practically no chance that there is a villager mayor, so lynching is out.

- 10 vs 5 -
If we lynch the Forsaken today:
- 10 vs 4 -
Night four:
- 9 vs 4 -
Day five, if a darkfriend is lynched:

Night seven:
- 6 vs 1 -
Day eight: Could end in a villager win here, might not.
- 5 vs 1 -
Night eight:
- 4 vs 1 -
Day nine: Things continue until that last darkfriend is gone. Or the villagers wipe each other out.

- 10 vs 5 -
If we lynch a villager today:
- 9 vs 5 -
Night four:
- 7 vs 5 -
Day five, if a darkfriend is lynched:
- 7 vs 4 -
Night five:
- 5 vs 4 -
Day six, if another darkfriend is lynched:
- 5 vs 3 -
Night six:
- 3 vs 3 -
Day seven: lynch the Forsaken or the villagers lose.

At any time, an Aiel-blooded could be hit on either side (I don't know how many or which teams), stopping one lost player on that side. Very bad for the villagers if a Darkfriend Aiel-blodded is lynched before the Forsaken.

Based on the above, tonight is not a clincher, but the odds will be horrible if the Forsaken does not get lynched now.

Many people agreed with Wilson's logic regarding the Forsaken fearing a viewing on the first night. Bela had been slightly suspicious. But the player who had most cause for fear was the one who got called out by the player who proceeded to message every player in the game, and was the most likely to be able to find and direct a viewer's knowledge.

We desperately need to remove the forsaken. I've spent three days and three nights trying to identify suspicious targets and testing the waters. I don't have time for tossing dice. I vote for
Grimlar al'Pil.

Please, if you have any better information, or any information at all, SPEAK! Silence, and the lack of cooperation it causes, will doom the villagers.

The following text is blue!

I have been quite busy today and haven't been active. And I will go to bed know and am just checking in fast. I am surprised that we haven’t heard anything from Awes and Wilson, as they are the ones that seem to coordinate things. They might be busy too, but I would like to hear their comments since they have knowledge I lack.

Edit. I will be more active tomorrow morning.

This was unfortunately a really crazy weekend for me at probably the worst juncture in the game for it. Had a 14 work day yesterday with only my phone to occasionally check on what was going on in the game. Today, I've mainly been attempting to get caught up on everything after the disaster that was last night. I'm waiting on a few replies from people before I make some outright accusations but while last night made things really bleak for us, I think we have a very good chance of lynching a DF today. I'll get something written up and posted after the World Cup match is finished.

In response to some of the comments above, the fireball last night was mine. Sprell was the only person who was still hiding their role before the last night cycle. When I confronted him about it his response was evasive and made me more suspicious of him than if he had just said I don't trust you. Senna and Malai agreed and both gave the go ahead to take the chance at eliminating a DF by using fire on him. In retrospect, wish I'd used air on Senna but at the time we still thought the DF hadn't worked out her role and we wanted to save that for when we knew she had been revealed.

It should be pretty obvious now that I'm not a DF. If I was going to reveal myself by taking out Senna and Malai, I wouldn't have wasted my fireball on an unknown. The viewer would have been part of last night's death toll instead

For the first time in four days, Leas felt like he was doing something useful. It had taken far too long, and far too many had died to bring it about, but the people of Drell's Crossing weren't beyond hope, not yet. Easing his sword from its sheath, he walked into the ruined inn, followed by Waes, Erik, Newan, Ralv and Witless. Finding a place to stand on the singed and splintered remains of the the bar, he turned to face the small crowd that had gathered with Grimlar's accusations. So few of us now... at least we can finally begin to avenge those who have fallen. Entering the Void, he waited for everyone's attention.

"Khamsi, once owner of the Golden Waffle, Mayor of Drell's Crossing, come forward!" From her place near Grimlar at the back of the crowd, Khamsi made her way to stand at the front, looking unsure of what was going on.

"Last night, our newly departed Wolfsister, Senna, decided that she no longer trusted our good Mayor. I would not be surprised if she took it upon herself to try and kill Khamsi. Yet, here she stands, perfectly unharmed, while Senna is dead, a knife in her back. Then, our Viewer, who was trying to confirm Khamsi’s claims of being Aiel-Blooded, found her powers strangely blocked. Is that a coincidence? I think not.” Leas paused a moment, allowing his words to sink in.

"There are very few powers that could defeat a Wolfsister and cloud a Viewer’s sight. However, we know that the Darkfriends have access to a very powerful Channeler, the same Channeler who killed Kaim.” As he continued to speak, he slowly leveled his sword at Khamsi.

"Khamsi of Arad Doman, I name you Darkfriend, Aes Sedai of the Black Ajah! What do you have to say in your defence?"

Have fun with that. ; )

All of our strongest reasons for suspecting Khamsi are in the RP above. There is more, but it's less definitive. As Khamsi will no longer be living to fulfill her role a Mayor, I suggest we instate Waes in her place.

This is going to look stupid but I'm voting for Trimat. The past two days he has been bandwagoning on votes and even if he isn't evil that is pretty dangerous behavior to be doing. I'll be on later so convince me to vote for someone else if you want, but I think Khasmi is innocent. Also Trimat has been a suspect of mine for a while and the fact that Senna voted against him then she died is really suspicious to me. Edit: Someone has actually convinced me already, but I'll stick with my vote for now. See how the night crowd/last seconders vote.

Waes had to keep reminding himself he needed to pay attention to what was going on around him. Focussing on the menial squabbles in the village just seemed so meaningless now. Destroying the evil that was infesting Dell’s Crossing consumed his every thought. He wanted to be out searching the streets again that very instant but he knew this confrontation with the Domani woman was key to discovering the dark friends.

They were the most important thing to worry about right now weren’t they?

Lease was calling out the Domani woman at that moment. There was no other reason why the town viewer --such an interesting ability-- and Senna --an even more amazing gift-- were both unsuccessful last night. Khamsi had some kind of power she was hiding. Was she the only killer though? Waes thought it unlikely. There was more going on in this village than just a rogue black ajah. The Dark One’s eyes attested to that.

He looked up into the dark rafters searching for the glowing eyes he knew were up there watching him. They were everywhere he went now. Waes’ fingers twitched, barely holding back the urge to illuminate the ceiling. There were too many people around for that though. No one in the village would trust a man who could touch saidin.

People always said rats and ravens were the eyes and ears of the Dark One. Waes always thought that was just backwater superstitions but the rats had started appearing at the same time the killings started. He knew they were connected and as long as they were everywhere spying on Waes’ plans, the dark friends would always be one step ahead. He had to kill them all but they were far craftier than any normal rat had the right to be.

They set that trap for him last night after all didn’t they?

The mangy rodent knew what it was doing when it scurried out into the open. It as good as asked Waes to incinerate it with his cleansing flames. How could he have known dark friends would lure Sprell right into the path of his fireball? There was nothing he could do about it. Sprell’s death was their doing not Waes’.

Tonight that would all change. No more holding back. The town would burn to the ground before he would let those goat-spawned vermin get the last laugh.

His attention was suddenly pulled back to the Inn when he heard his own name thrown out.

What was Aonar doing? Waes couldn’t be mayor. He had too much to do tonight. He already spent too much time trying to organize the hunt, he couldn’t worry about the daily problems of the entire town as well. Furthermore, being mayor would draw the focus of the dark friends even more than he already had. He could not risk protecting himself with the one power again. One time was dangerous enough. Fortunately, there were no signs of the taint yet. His sanity was still intact. That would not last forever though. If he kept using saidin, he would go insane eventually.

“I appreciate the confidence you have in me Lease but I have not proven myself worthy of the honor. My attempts to organize an investigation have all ended in failure so far. Why don’t you take up the position yourself? It was you, and amazingly Witless, who figured out Khamsi’s little game.”

Hopefully no one else would take up Aonar’s suggestion. He really did have too much to do. Waes looked up at the rafters again. There was nothing to be seen but he knew they weren’t empty. Tonight they wouldn’t be able to hide from him.

Edit:Red

Edit 2:Also, the part about denying the mayor position was more RP for my poor tainted character than anything.

Theorymaker, I'm going to ask you to retract your vote for Trimat. With two votes on Trimat, Khamsi can still use his mayor vote to save himself. Obviously, I have no right to ask you this. But still, I hope you'll agree that even if they are both bad, killing Trimat is not as much of a priority right now. Edited by New One

Hey I helped. Sort of. I mean I'm not on the Elite Team of Elitists, but I did my best to start this specific manhunt.

Anyway I agree that Waes should become mayor.
