"I am certain you have questions. Please, ask, and we shall do our best to answer you." The Lady Warren said, finally drawing Whisper's attention back to conversation with her arrival.

She considered and dismissed a dozen questions out of hand, either too technical to be able to be answered by someone who had just fallen into this situation, or too revealing of her own interests to be worth stating aloud. And she was just beginning to pick through the much shorter list of questions which might be appropriate to ask when her thoughts were interrupted by someone else asking in her place.

“why a help wanted poster? This seems to be a very specific job, with quite a mysterious nature. I feel like hiring specialists, or some sort of magical detective agency would be needed. And judging by the manor, you could surely afford hiring someone.”

Whisper felt the corner of her lips twitch up in the slightest of smiles, far more expression than most would evoke from her. But there was only one place in the city with specialists that would be capable of handling this particular problem, and Whisper was quite aware of why neither Lady Warren nor any of her staff had asked. The Dark Alley was not precisely in the business of performing charity work, nor were they a mercenary company one could simply hire out.

"What item specifically are we looking for? And... what should we do with anything else we find?" Another voice said, this one new to the conversation as its owner arrived late.

Whisper spared him a quick once-over as well, a faint flicker at the back of her mind indicated she may have seen him before but was not so clear that she could place where. She shelved the thought as she nodded along at this, more practical question. It had been one of the ones that she had considered asking herself.

Instead she moved a hand over her board as though wiping it clean of her previous scribblings and beginning to write anew, though actually she simply covered it with a Lightweaving to preserve the makeshift map she had started.

What rooms have you been able to find? She wrote. And is there a map or a blueprint for the original architecture?

She turned the board to display its writing just as the sound of a slamming door echoed from somewhere deeper in the house. Acting surprised was easy enough, a small little nervous jump that was quickly controlled. She had been mentally rehearsing the action ever since she placed the Lightweaving to cause the sound.

Alright main question: how real is that noise? Obviously it’s real to the average ears, but what about a windwhisperer? Would they be able to hear the lack of something like the sound waves bouncing off the walls? Perses has perfect pitch. How does that fit into the equation? I doubt he would be able to pick out exactly what’s wrong with the sound, but if the slam is lacking all of the weird frequencies a door slam has, it would sound off to him.

Whisper is particularly experienced with auditory Lightweaving, I'd say barring perfect pitch she would likely not be able to replicate a specific door slam convincingly enough to fool that but almost certainly enough for something generic. It would also have some deliberately eerie and non-natural reverberations and qualities to it, aim is to sound ominous after all.

Vivi turned towards the woman who had just stepped into the room. "No, you're not. We're still waiting for our host to appear." She eyed the snacks again, wondering if she might even be able to sneak some into her lunchbox. "I'm Vivi." She introduced herself, still thinking about the little cakes. The ones with a red filling had been really tasty.

Another thought occured to her and she clapped her forehead in annoyance. She'd completely forgotten about Rainbowglow. Quickly she headed over to the table with the snacks and removed her backpack, opened it. "I'm so sorry." She peeked inside. "You've got to be hungry, too. Here you are." Vivi picked up one of the cakes and put it into the backpack, then she closed it again and grabbed another one for herself.

Then she walked the few steps to the others and made sure she kept her facial expression friendly. Whatever waited for them in the house, her odds looked a lot brighter if she wasn't going in all on her own.

"Hello Vivi, I'm Marie. Excuse me, but are you a kid or do you just look like one?" She asked

Very smooth Polaris noted

Vivi picked up one of the cakes and put it in her backpack, presumably to feed a pet. Except the bag didn't contain a living mind.

"Did you bring a pet?"

A door slammed somewhere in the manor, startling the thief

"That's just a door, what are you getting all jumpy for?"

Does Marie sees anything when looking at Cobalt and Lady Warren's minds?

Also, @Ookla the Headmuncher in case you didn't already know, Peres's lifesense should allow him to feel Polaris' presence

Vivi watched as their host walked down the stairs, old and somehow wrung out. And yet she had an air around her that made Vivi's toes curl in envy. Such pride, such majestic behaviour. If she herself was able to walk like that once, to have that bodylanguage, then she was like a queen. Her attention shifted away from her host and her speech about retrieving some object when she was adressed by the woman who had just arrived.

"Hello Vivi, I'm Marie. Excuse me, but are you a kid or do you just look like one?"

Startled Vivi looked up at her, needed a moment to process the question. "I'm not a kid." She protested and tried to stand straight to show her full height. "I'm twelve. I even go to school when -" she trailed off, shadows creeping over her face. When the school hadn't forgotten about her just like every one else seemed to have. "I suppose I don't go there anymore." she added weakly and tiredly brushed her hair out of her face. She was twelve, she was supposed to go to school and be a kid. With a sigh she shook her head to get rid of the dark thoughts and lifted her backpack.

"I didn't bring a pet." she explained glad for something else to talk about. She opened it and held it, so that Marie could take a look inside. Her very worn and well used stuffed unicorn stared out at Marie, the cake sitting somewhere close to it's hooves. "She's called Rainbowglow." Vivi introduced her and brushed her fingers over its head. "My mum," she made a pause, "it doesn't matter." Hastily she closed the backpack again and slung it over her shoulders.

Suddenly a door slammed close somewhere and she made a startled sound, jumped to see where the sound had come from. Everything was calm and so she forced herself to take a deep breath. She had to stay calm. If she wanted to be respected one day, she had to stay calm and strong.

"That's just a door, what are you getting all jumpy for?" Marie stated calmly next to her and Vivi quickly nodded her agreement. Just a door. Just a gust of wind. She was no child to be spooked by some natural phenomenon.

The large grandfather clock on the wall of the parlour chimed three o'clock, the sound cutting through conversation and leaving room for the softer, slightly aged voice of Verity Warren to carry through the air.

"Your host is right here."

She did her best to sweep into the room; once it had been so easy to make a striking impression. Her height, her long dark hair, her penchant for fine jewels and gowns - all had aided her in being the Lady of Wickwillow. The Lady Warren. And she still was, if perhaps a bit more stooped, her long hair now silvered, her gown and jewels hanging rather more loosely on a spindly frame. But she was still the Lady Warren, and she would do battle with this strange house until one of them emerged victorious, and the other was either tamed, or dead.

Verity surveyed the gathered crowd and held a sigh between her teeth. She had hoped for more, but she was not surprised at the small number. These were trying times for everyone, and plenty did not wish for another helping of danger so soon after having their world shaken and resettled. She had expected to catch the desperate and the curious, and based on what she saw, she had been right. Her eyes lingered a bit long on the slim figure of an actual child amidst the hopefuls, and considered dismissing her outright. But then, Verity herself had been forced to grow up much too quickly. Few in this city did not have to do so, in one way or another. And the girl was not her responsibility.

"Thank you for answering our call for aid," Verity continued, glancing aside to Cobalt, who remained still and stoic, as usual. "I am the Lady Verity Warren. As you all surely know, the world has recently undergone a great transition. While most has returned to its original state, there are a few things that... have not. Among them, this house. You all saw the Manor as you approached it from without: four stories and a basement, a classical style. Rather unremarkable, if stately. And it was that way within as well, until a week ago. At which point the house began to... grow. And it has not stopped. It continues to add passages, rooms, secret doors and switchbacks. New staircases appear, and there have been... things that have emerged from such new doors and hallways. We have lost three of our staff."

"It is a logical thing to ask 'Why not simply leave?' And in truth, we would. I would, if it were not for something very important that I require, which lies in my late husband's - the late Lord Warren's - third floor study. We have yet to be able to find the room, or even the corridor, in which this item is located. But should you succeed where we have failed, you will be handsomely rewarded. I am certain you have questions. Please, ask, and we shall do our best to answer you."

Malsam listened quietly to the various questions, trying to keep an eye on everyone in the room. It was probably to be expected, but this group was rather...odd. As she listened to Lady Warren, she smiled to herself at the fitting name.

"Have you been able to do any mapping of the expansions? What is the rate at which it is growing?" she asked, ignoring the sound of a slamming door, but cataloging it for future reference. "Also, how stable is everything?"

Verity felt herself flinch ever-so slightly at the distant sound of a slamming door.

Not good, she thought, keeping the anxiety off her face. The house never made noise as it shifted - it was only the visitors who ever made noise, and those rarely appeared this close to the first floor. Damnation.

”To the first point - why we have advertised for hired help as opposed to contracting a more professional organization. Forgive me but you are likely new in the city. There is only one organization with the knowledge and ability to handle something like this, and they are… unpredictable at best. At worst they could possibly be behind this phenomenon, using my manor as some sort of laboratory. I doubt this latter possibility. From the small contacts I do have regarding the goings-on with the Dark Alley, they are in an insular mood following the Forgery. But I would not seek their services regardless; too many what-ifs. Too many unknown variables getting them purposefully involved.”

Verity brushed the front of her dress unnecessarily - an old nervous habit.

“To the second point.” Verity pinned the latecomer with a neutral, if imperious, look. “The item in question is a small lacquered green box, about ten inches square. It has a gold lock and gold hinges. The contents of the box are irrelevant to you - only that it be returned to me. And in regards to ‘other items’ you may find in my home…”

She raised an eyebrow. “Do you mean to inquire if you are permitted to steal various trinkets from my manor for your troubles, like visitors to an orchard plucking apples? Or do you perhaps mean any odd phenomena you encounter within these walls? Some sort of magical artifact won off a creature of legend? I suppose if you do encounter and best such a thing, you may keep what can be gained from it. But if you avail yourself of my family’s belongings, then you will surely have your reward.”

At this, Cobalt calmly drew a few inches of his cold steel saber, face unchanged.

“We have sought out professionals and I expect your conduct to be professional. You will be paid like it. Ten thousand chrysts to each of you that make it back with the box. Another three thousand if you can do so in three days. We have the initial blueprints of the house, which you make take at your leisure.”

She gestured to a pile of rolled-up blueprints.

”The rate of change is… variable. And constant. From what we can tell, most of the changes happen at or around sunset and dawn. And the changes become more pronounced the further up you go, and the farther you get from the outer window line.”

Perses took all this in, and was slowly realizing that he was in way over his head. He could detect two entities through lifesense following various members in the room-he assumed they were likely spren. There was a slam of a door, which was unexpected, but it sounded off. He couldn’t place his finger on it, but it did not sound like a real door slam. It could be part of the house, but it could also have something to do with the people in this room. It was clear that everyone was hiding everything from each other, and trust was nonexistent. Perses had of course been in such situations, but they were not a situation that involved solving a mind-boggling mystery. If this group was going to get anything done, they would need to know what each of them were bringing to the table. Perses decided to try to get that started.

“Alright, if we want to get anything done, we need to know what we’re working with. More importantly, we need to know what everyone is capable of. I guess I’ll start, since it would be weird to prompt that without actually revealing my powers. I can store senses, which is how I’m a blind guy without a cane. I also have bronze sense, which can detect any investiture being used. In addition to those things, both of which I was born with, I have enough breaths to reach the second heightening, which I’m pretty new with. That means I hear frequencies and sounds really well and I have a fairly strong sense of any person or entity that is around me. I can also awaken stuff, but I truly don’t have the hang of that yet. I’m not sure how any of my powers will be useful here, but I can say for certain that the house is oddly quiet for a house that grows and changes when people aren’t looking.”

"I'm a first a first Oath Willshaper, I can teleport, peer into the cognitive realm and go there, I can also shape most matter as if it was clay." she half-drew her sword "And that blade isn't for show."

She posed a second a second before continuing "Do you currently hear anything from me?" She'd heard some investiture detector had trouble detecting people using Transportation to just peer into the cognitve and wondered if it was the case of Peres.

The senses of a windwhisperer are slightly better than these of a secretspren you know.

Perses was glad someone was intrigued by his powers. He’s always found them quite cool, but everyone else either didn’t care, or had already heard of them. There are certainly advantages to Alleycity.

“I admit that I am not great at Rosharan magic. I can sense your spren, even though their actual location is a bit vague. Past that, I can sort of tell when you do your surge-whatevers, but it’s really tough, and I have to be looking for it. At the moment, given that I think I’ll be needing it, I’ll save my bronze-sense for other things.”

Trust seemed to be a tad higher that Perses had assumed, which made him happy. There were much too many situations where a crew of some form were not the friendliest to each other.

Whisper moved swiftly towards the pile of blueprints, taking a map for herself and studying it as further conversations developed behind her. The former layout did not seem to have any correlation to what she had mapped earlier, but that was to be expected. Such patterns were rarely so easy as to be seen at a glance, not even by her. Room by room she devoted the map to memory, trusting her own rather than a borrowed coppermind.

This box... she considered, also devoting the lady's description to her mind. Worth delving further into or not? Unlikely that anything a random noble lady owns would be of interest, but then something is happening to this house. They are perhaps a more interesting family than they first appear.

Her eyes flickered over the walls, looking over the decorations, pictures, trying to find portraits and family trees that so many nobles loved to display. But she quickly grew distracted by the question behind her. One of her new associates was a Seeker it seemed, though blessedly unfamiliar with Surges. That could complicate things of course, but for now it should not change anything overmuch. In the worst case there was doubtless some abyssal entity wandering the house that she could lure in to deal with anyone too problematic, or she could simply separate from the others. Continuing her lifelong wish of spreading her devotion was of course important, but it would not be too much of a problem if she needed to simply leave these few be.

Odds are most won't make it back anyway. She reasoned.

Mentally reviewing the rest of the information had been given, Whisper realized too late that her current guise should perhaps have acted more excited or greedy about the mention of pay. The sum meant very nearly nothing to Whisper, but an ordinary thief would be much more invested. With a slight inaudible curse she drew some of her attention back to the conversations and her expressions rather than devoting all to the problems.

What should I do with it after? She wondered. Donate it? Seems pointless. Buy something? Even more... no, perhaps not pointless. That much funding... might be able to approach things a different way. Obtain a building. Perhaps a church?

Plans formed and revised in moments, though Whisper lacked enough financial awareness to know how far ten thousand chrysts would stretch, but surely it would be enough for a start at least? Devoting one to all of her gods seemed like it would be impossible, almost nobody else understood the connections of perfection that ran between them. But perhaps one. Perhaps this was her chance to make amends, to regain some small measure of utility after the colossal failure that was the end of the Forgery.

She winced, pain piercing through her eye and into her brain. Her muscles tensed immediately in response, far too familiar with the more extreme pain that would be following shortly after. But she could keep it under control for now couldn't she? Surely she had not become so utterly useless that she would fail so simple an infiltration due to some head pains.

Sei listened to the Lady Warren as she munched on a cake. This was certainly going to be interesting. Sei probably should have left for her own well-being, but... ten thousand chrysts? That was much too tempting of an offer. Sei grabbed a blueprint. Hopefully, there was some kind of pattern to the house - even living things had patterns, if you knew where to look.

Sei looked at the Lady Warren. "What kind of... things has the house spawned?"

Her smile faded when Vivi mentioned not going to school anymore "Did something happen?" she asked

"They forgot about me." Vivi's voice was quiet, forlorn. "Everybody forgot that I exist, which class I went to. My dancing teacher claims, that she never saw me before." She listened as the others continued with their questions, listened to their host who explained more about the thing they would be looking for. Despite the strangers in the room, Vivi looked forward to the job. A heist, as it would have been called in a book. It would be exciting and she would be able to do something for once. To earn her own money.

The prospect brightened her mood and she shoved all dark thoughts into a corner of her mind. She had been forgotten once, she would make sure that this wouldn't happen a second time. She let the others discuss their abilities, pondered whether she should talk about her own as well and finally pulled out her rapier and lifted it a little to indicate that she knew how to use it. Let them believe it or not, her father had trained her well. Pride envelopped her heart and she wrapped the rapier's belt around her hip, the weapon a welcome weight at her side.

Vivi used the discussion to look around the room again, tried to get a better idea who had come here. Lady Warren had mentioned the Dark Alley and she considered the possibility of one of them being here. Most likely. According to her mom they were always around when strange things happened. Vivi looked at everybody present, tried to decide who might be an undercover agent, the Ghostbloods had to be here for sure as well. And Tuba. Just like in the stories. The Scholar's, too. And they would work grudingly together and against each other and defeat the evil ones. Just like they had done with Plasma Core or the bomb. Excitement made her heart flutter and she looked at everybody again, pictured them to be like the heros of the Seven Day War she had heard so much about. Maybe one day, their statues would be in the Hall of Legends, too. Maybe one day, she herself would have a statue there. Her gaze rested on one member of the team after the other and the imagined them in a heroic pose, defying evil.

The wince of the quiet woman who had entered the room shortly after herself disrupted her dream of turning into an aweinspiring hero of old. Was she afraid? Vivi looked more closely. No, she didn't look afraid. Making a quick decision she picked up a sandwich, just like one the woman had eaten earlier and handed it to her. "Food helps with dark thoughts." She gave a small smile. "If you don't want it, I can eat it."

How far I have fallen without the Chapel. Whisper thought scathingly as the child approached her. Being pitied by a child, and not for an act of feigned innocence, over simple pain.

Years of experience seemed to flee all at once, Whisper lost the muscle memory that would usually save her in circumstances like this. Instead she froze, wondering which muscles to put where in order to create a smile. Other people did it all the time, easy as breathing. And she had learned to do it, after a lot of practice. So why was she now unable to?

Still staring stiffly she took the offered food mostly on instinct, unsure what to actually do with it. The child had still not dropped dead, nor broken out in any other sort of illness. Which meant that if the food was poisoned it was not with anything that would act particularly quickly. And if it was acting that slowly then there was really no risk at all to her, she could simply return to the Alleys.

Eventually she managed a small nod of gratitude in the girls direction. Habitually she tilted her head up to display the thick scar tissue along her neck, though the girl was a little shorter than Whisper herself and could probably see it even without that gesture.

Another thing to be grateful for. Whisper realized, slowly recovering herself. With her here at least people aren't mistaking me for a child.

Whether a feature of the experiments from when she was younger, or simply some quirk of genetics, Whisper during her late teens was perhaps only a half inch taller than this girl.

Vivi. Her mind corrected, supplying the information from a conversation she had only half payed attention to. Her name was Vivi she said. One of those born from the Forgery perhaps? Or simply forgotten by some quirk of its removal.

Was there something familiar about the girl? Unlikely that Whisper had met her previously, given her usual activities, but not impossible. She was at the least a pleasant distraction, Whisper could feel the pain receding from behind the orbit of her eye already, faster than she could remember it fading before. Perhaps this job did not simply have to be a punishment due to invoking the head of Counterintelligence's ire. Perhaps Whisper might actually be able to scrape some measure of enjoyment for herself from it.

Thank you. She wrote simply on her board. You hold your blade well.

Hesitating a moment, uncertainly, Whisper looks around before smiling as she reads something from atop the blueprints she holds, and adds another line to her board.

You may call me Willow.

The woman took the sandwich with a small nod of thanks. Relieved that she hadn't reacted angry, Vivi considered to walk away again, she didn't like to intrude too much on others, although her brother claimed that she did it all the time. Vivi swallowed around the knot in her throat, when the woman lifted her chin a little to show Vivi her scars. They were huge and crude and most likely the reason she had been so quiet so far.

Then she started to write on the board she held and turned it a little so that Vivi could read it. Thank you. You hold your blade well. Vivi read and straightened proudly. Few people took the time to even judge her skill. She was usually dismissed because of her age alone. You may call me Willow. was added after a short pause and Vivi smiled. "Hey, Willow." She replied with an honest smile. "I'm glad to meet you."

Vivi tapped gently against the handle of her rapier. "I trained a lot, for years." She told Willow quietly. "I know that nearly everybody in this room will neglect me, because I'm so much younger than they are, but I can defend myself. I'm not as helpless as they think." It didn't change the part where she was shorter, lighter and weaker than her opponent, but skill could make up for some of her disadvantages. And surprising her enemy usually helped as well. As well as her usual try to evade a direct confrontation with someone much stronger.

"Do you have some information about the manor?" she nodded towards Willow's blueprints, but didn't lean over to take a closer look to avoid prying. "To be honest, the lady sounds as if she doesn't expect us to succeed. Or if we do, she suspects that some won't leave again." Vivi could partially understand that,  those who had gathered didn't quite look like heros, but then - the thought that their employer didn't care at all if they lived or died made her cringe inwardly. Her thoughts turned back to her disadvantages and she sighed. If she was honest with herself, her chances to leave again weren't exactly that high.

"I'm not as helpless as they think." Vivi replied, a hand on her rapier.

Whisper gave her second small smile of the afternoon at that. She wondered if the light in Vivi's eyes was defensive, a desire to be respected and have her efforts appreciated, or did a darker emotion perhaps swirl within her heart when she was dismissed? Whisper had exploited such assumptions of defenselessness countless times herself, and while she generally felt very little about it one way or the other, there was a certain satisfaction in plunging a spike into the heart of a Radiant who had thought you an innocent and incapable child, in need of protection but not wariness.

"Do you have some information about the manor?" Vivi nodded towards the blueprints. "To be honest, the lady sounds as if she doesn't expect us to succeed. Or if we do, she suspects that some won't leave again."

Whisper inclined her head in agreement at that, the odds of everyone here remaining healthy through this endeavor... perhaps not zero, but far from promising. Whatever was happening in this house, it was related to the Alleys but disconnected from those the DA made use of. Which likely meant all of the usual danger with none of the established paths of safety.

Little I can tell for sure. Beyond the obvious. She wrote down, casting a wary eye over the others. It will be dangerous. And likely the type of danger that is not so foolish as to spare someone simply because of their age.

Pretending to wipe her board clean once again, Whisper feigned writing out, wondering already if she should simply abandon the charade and reveal her Lightweaving. But it was too soon, too much lost opportunity. No need to rush things simply for convenience.

If changes occur at sundown then it would seem advisable to leave before then. She noted, turning the board this time to show it to the rest of the room rather than just Vivi.

This group seems to be an alright bunch, Perses decided. He seemed to be getting along well enough with Malsam, Vivacia, and that other willshaper. There was a person that had been hanging out on the edge of the room for quite some time, who hadn’t spoken past a muttered curse under their breath. Vivacia seemed to be getting along all right with them, though. Perses thought that that was likely enough, but something still seemed off about them. Their lifesense was all off, and they were constantly using some kind of magic, but Perses had no clue what. They were also always writing, and seemed to be showing it to others. If only Perses knew what they had written.

And then there was this newcomer, which was constantly burning cadmium. And they were strong with it. Perses went over to them. “What about you?” He said. “You seem to be Scadrian. What can you do?”

Quick clarification, she is not burning Cadmium, she would think herself stupid if she did that now. She is constantly storing pewter when in her chair, though. she varies how much she is storing depending on what she has to do in moving her chair. She is not very good with cadmium, though if she survives this i'd like her to become savant eventually.

Malsam absently ran a hand along the armrest of her chair.

It is why I use this wheelchair, though I don't have to have it. It just makes my life easier and less painful. I am decently good with a sword, which is part of why I came." She eyed Perses. "I know bronzesense will let you identify allomantic abilities, but does it allow you to detect Feruchemy?"

Perses smiled to himself. “Generally, no. You have to use a lot of bronzesense and be very adept with it. Given that being blind can be quite boring for my senses, and I didn’t have much to do past stay alive during my time on Scadrial, I got really good at it. So yes, I can detect that you’re storing pewter.”

Malsam Nodded thoughtfully, storing away that information. "Makes sense. The twelve-year-old caught her eye, she had heard the girls name, Vivi. She was talking with another young woman who seemed to be mute. At least, she hadn't spoken yet.

"Do you know anything about the young girl or the person she is talking with?" she asked Perses.

I believe this was intended to be Byron, the Cadmium savant who was last to enter.

“Uuuh yeah.” Perses said. “Vivacia hasn’t used any abilities of any type, but seems to be capable, and the other fellow is weird. I don’t really know what their deal is. I would ask them, but given that they seem to only communicate through writing on a board, I wouldn’t be able to properly communicate with them.”

Malsam smiled slightly. "Then I'll go over and say hi. Knowledge is power, cousin." She rolled her chair over to Whisper and Vivacia.

"Nice sword," she said to Vivacia. "How good are you with it?"

Byron gave a slight jump at the door slamming in the distance, but something told him that wouldn't be the biggest danger in the house. Then someone mentioned cadmium.

"Uh..." was all he got out before the other person - Malsam? - answered. That she was used Allomantic cadmium too. Byron wasn't sure if he'd ever met another Pulser. It made sense, seeing how he'd lived for so long on Roshar. But it was still... odd. Might as well share.

"I'm a Pulser too. I've used cadmium for... a long time. I can carry the bubble with me and slow down time and do a few other things. Other than that... I can think pretty fast, and I'm good with knives." He didn't mention he was a decent pickpocket - it seemed like it was the main idea, and the guardsman seemed to not like the idea of sticky fingers. Felt a bit strange, seeing as they were desperate to leave the house and everything else inside, but maybe there were multiple teams for multiple items.. That wasn't the most outlandish idea.

"If you need someone to scout ahead, I'd be alright at that. It just won't be very fast."

Byron paused for a second. "Also, if we have a deadline or are counting on the house changing at a consistent time... I might mess with that. Or your watches. Or anything made of aluminum at all."

Yeah Byron will light up like a bonfire on any bronze sense :P
