Cognitive Realm Mists?

The Cognitive Realm of Scadrial is, like it's physical counterpart during nighttime, absolutely covered in Mists, which shapes itself to reflect the Physical Realm.

My question is, are the MIsts in the Cognitive Realm the same as the ones from the Physical Realm? Are they the gaseous form of Preservation's Investiture or is this just a quirk of the Cognitive Realm?

May I ask if you have read Stormlight Archive?

It's not so much that there are mists in Scadrian Shadesmar - it's that things in the Cognitive realm of Scadrial appear to be made from Mist. If you have read Secret History, you'll recall that in Ch 1 the mists weren't in the air at all (that was a impression Kelsier had as he transitioned):

Quote

He turned about, and as he inspected his surroundings, the mists seemed to withdraw. No, it felt like Kelsier was solidifying, entering this place fully. The withdrawal of the mists was more like a clearing of his own mind.

The mists coalesced into shapes. Those shadows he’d mistaken for hills were buildings, hazy and formed of shifting mists. The ground beneath his feet was also mist, a deep vastness, like he was standing on the surface of the ocean. It was soft to his touch, like cloth, and even a little springy.

Nearby lay the overturned prison wagon, but here it was made of mist. That mist shifted and moved, but the wagon retained its form. It was like the mist was trapped by some unseen force into a specific shape.

Stormlight Archive:

Spoiler

Similarly, in the Rosharan Shadesmar, the landscape and objects of the physical realm is represented by Beads. Or Spheres. . .

Ah that makes sense, so no hypothetical distilling of Lerasium from the Cogniive Realm for this guy.

You could say that the Mists are lie!

Edit;

But wait if the Mists are just part of the CR's Identity then what about the ash? It's everywhere in the PR at daytime and yet there isn't a single bit of it in the CR? I'm a little confused.

Why would you think that? It states right in the beginning of M:SH Ch 6:

From there it only grew worse. Empty towns. Vast piles of ash, which manifested on this side as rolling hills that he ran across for a time before realizing what they were.

Unless you mean the ash as it is falling? In which case, it's the same reason that distance is shortened in the CR - objects' CR aspect is a reflection of how they are thought about, and how they think of themselves.

Before Ruin's release, ashfalls were far less frequent and ash was mostly thought of as how it piled up and had to be removed. Sure , people noticed ash flakes while they fell (and possibly those had a CR aspect, if you could even discern microscopic mist flakes against a misty background); but by the time Kelsier gets back and we see the massive ashfalls from his POV - many people are dead already (such as when he noticed the city that fell into the ocean) and those that remain are much more concerned about the mountains of ash (again reinforcing the "ash on ground" as a cognitive identity strong than "ash falling").

I was thinking of falling ash, but either way that's an egg on my face.

Ok, I'm starting to understand just how weird the Cognitive Realm truly is. So thanks for that.
