Hi, everyone! I've spent a little time wandering around the forum in the past, but never got around to getting involved with the discussion until now. I've read almost all of the Cosmere books, with the exception of the novellas and RoW (I read the preview chapters, but it coming out in the middle of NaNoWriMo means that I didn't get to start it on release day like I would have liked ). I love the Cosmere for the sheer size and complexity of it, but I'd have to say that the Skyward books are my favorites of what Sanderson has written. I will probably be spending most of my time here down in the Reading Excuses / Writing Excuses sections (at least until I get through RoW and inevitably need to look up some Cosmere reference that I've forgotten). I'm looking forward to getting involved with some of the conversations there. I'll also be looking at recruiting some readers, now that I've gotten a draft of one of my projects to where I need some input from people outside my immediate social circle. This seemed like a great place to do that, since I can't think of any other places where I might find a larger gathering of people with similar reading tastes than here. It's great to officially be here! And if anyone should happen to be interested in doing some alpha reading over their holiday break, get in touch -CVal

@Calderis suggested the idea of writing posts in poetic form. Here’s my attempt at an English sonnet, comparing my three favorite fantasy writers. I first read Brandon when Mistborn was new. He captured me as much as Martin did, And Robin Hobb, who wrote Fitz and the Fool. These three became the novelists I read. George Martin has the grandest epic style, Yet better suited visually for the screen. Ms. Hobb is introspective all the while Her heroes suffer horrors most obscene. But Brandon writes a clear compelling tale, With magic interwoven through his worlds. The weakest and the broken become hale – The heroes who receive their just rewards. Though Martin hasn’t finished and looks lame, The three of them deserve their well-earned fame.

Hello there! I'm Nico, 31 years old, Argentinian, web programmer and living currently in Tokyo. I'm a fantasy enthusiast and love Brandon's work and his passion and thoughts about writing, and I don't know why took me so long to register here in first place. But I'm here now. I'm part of the fantasitura.com forum's crew, a Spanish forum for aspiring fantasy writers and passionate readers. Hope to read from you soon. Thanks!

A few years back, I ventured into wattpad back when it wasn't so mainstream and I actually found moderate success in it - but back then, I wasn't serious about the stories I was writing. Now that I am, I'm having second thoughts about using wattpad as a medium, especially since I find the site difficult sometimes (too much hassle) and I need a place to put up or at least store my chapters so that I could go over them or have some of my beta-reader friends look over it without actually posting it. Blogging sites are foreign to me by the way so that's out of the picture. Basically, can somebody point me to a benevolent place for writers-in-need everywhere? I'm considering a few more sites out there but I'd really want someone's opinions on this first - I'm holding out on that hope that someone has actually find paradise out there and is willing to lead me to it. P.S. If this has already been discussed, please just point me to the appropriate thread instead.

Hey, guys. Excited to be here. And surrounded by cool people. I took Sanderson's class in Winter 2012. That's my claim to fame. I'm currently working on my second novel, SONG OF LOCKE, which was inspired by LEGEND OF ZELDA. It's on Kickstarter right now. (Because I'm an indie author, which is like being an indie band, but with more groupies.) Here's the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jwashburn/song-of-locke Not sure what else to say. Oh, this: Brandon is a real inspiration to me. I admire his hard work and his brilliance. And I hope to be like him when I grow up. I'm also grateful he writes so much so we have so many worlds and magics to enjoy! It's good to be here and to mingle with all of you! — J
