Hi all, My wife and I made a barn door with a woodburned design of Brandon Sanderson's Knight's Radiant Immortal Words that now separates our front entrance room that we use as a dining room into the living room, and thought you guys might appreciate it. View from the living room: Farther back view: On the other side, we have Tolkien's "Speak Friend and Enter" in Elvish with the White Tree of Gondor and Celtic knotwork: Farther back view: Close up view of the woodburning on the White Tree of Gondor: The wood we used is called Blue Pine, which we got at a Home Depot. I will be putting a clear coat varnish on it, just want to make sure we don't see any woodburning mistakes to sand out and redo. The door weighs about 50 pounds. Feel free to ask questions about it, but if you'd like to read more about the process of how we made it, please visit my wife's blog post about it! SirCasey

I'd like to know the opinions of those of you who spent way too much time on Middle Earth and both read the series and saw the movies. I, personally, am very biased because I first watched the movies at age nine, and have marathoned them every year since, whereas I only read the books for the first time two years ago. I find the movies more enjoyable. The books are more of a walk through Tolkien's world, while we watch people in the world, and the movies are much more character-driven. Anyway, I'm open to discussion and an opinion-change!

Ok so I have had the mistake of accidentally reading BAD fantasy in the past, but my favorite books are always fantasy. I need a fix to wait until the next in the Stormlight seris. Ive read most of the books by those I have tagged. Any suggestions?
