HAPPY SIXTEEN THOUSAND POSTS --uhh... me. Hrm. Anyhoo... welcome to my brand-new mini-story writing corner. Basically, this place is for anything on the shorter side that I happen to write. I have a number of short stories / novellas stuffed deep into my google drive that I'd honestly love to share with y'all, so I decided to make an entire scudding thread for them. I'm gonna kick things off with the story that got me into the TABC anthology: The Forest Guardian. It's a soft fantasy based on various cool spiritual thingses like Princess Mononoke. The concept for this is short story roleplay. I'll make a very short single quest idea, for instance, the first one is transporting a payload of silver across part of threnody. You come up with your player idea, something simple but dynamic without a large arc. I set up the plot and we start playing. When we're done with the first story, we go on to the next, each being very short. You could have a reoccurring character, or do a new one every time. Here's the basic summary of the plot, then a more in depth explanation: You have been hired! A small large shipment of silver is being transported from this very town to Boschester. It is expected to leave at the next Shaiday. Good fortune to you, and may the Shades never catch you, sincerely, Adonalsiumwillrememberourplighteventually If you want to join, just put a character roughly following this sheet, or a brief concept and name. All right, for my 2000th post, I'm going to finally publish my little project I've been working on for a while. Null's Reflections is a collection of stories that takes place in... the entire multiverse. Actually more than that. It's a multiverses of multiverses. Every possible world is fair game for these stories. I won't give too much away, obviously, but keep a look out for references, but also know that there's things from places there's no story equivalent of on Earth. There will be five arcs, with multiple short stories in them, and there might will definitely be other stories that aren't directly part of any of the arcs. I'd love any and all feedback. I've worked a long time on these characters and worlds. Won't you sit down and reflect a moment with me? I am currently writing a short story called "My Small Reality" and I need some help. the premise of the story is the character is the only thing really exists. he is the Alpha so to speak. But parts of his sub-conscious have become sentient as a result of a massive shift in his ideals. these broken of bits are slowly gaining more and more control over his reality. so I need ways to mess with his head and make him doubt reality. But I have no ideas about how to do this and really need some help.

Hey All! Since these boards have come to be my favorite place to ask questions and get real responses from people who seem to care. I chose to come here to ask yet another overall question. Lately, I have been tearing through Novels at a searing rate. However, I find myself getting burnt out. To the point that Warbreaker took me three weeks to get through. And I fully expected to be through The Rithmatist by now...so I think I need a respite. Something to re-energize my novel reading desire. So I was thinking that some short stories and Novelettes could satisfy me. I found Asimovs Science Fiction. Now I ask an age tired question "Is this magazine worth my time?" My two biggest things are 1. Quality. I want to be reading something good. Something that I will finish and think "that was worth my staring at paper for the last few hours". 2. Sex. I dont like sexuality in my books Warbreaker was about as much as I can stand in a book, Is Asimovs magazine presses that line often. I dont want it. So sound of as the 17th sharders so wonderfully do!
