  1. The Pathfinder Society is a globe-spanning organisation based out of Absalom, the largest city in the world. At least, it is if you live on Golarion. I don't think they have internet access though, so if you're seeing this thread, you probably live on Earth, in which case the Pathfinder Society is the name used by Paizo Publishing for the Pathfinder RPG Organised play. I like the name though, and it fit with the guilds and society theme, so I'm stealing it for my own use. So, what is the 17th Shard's Pathfinder Society? It's a place for people to talk, share stories and fish for parties for role-playing games, whether that's Dungeons & Dragons, FATE Core, World of Darkness, Legend of the Five Rings, Pathfinder, or anything else you can imagine. There are a lot of tabletop RPG's by this point. Which goes to the keypoint: this is not a roleplay thread in itself. Think of it as a hobby chatpoint, or an OOC thread at most. If people talk stuff and decide they have a cool idea for an RPG to play - either here or on Discord - then cool; I'd be lying if I said that wasn't what I was sort of hoping would happen But this in itself is a discussion place, and not an actual roleplay in itself. ... So anyway, with that part out of the way, welcome to the Pathfinder Society! As my bias in the title probably gave away, I'm a fan of Paizo's Pathfinder RPG system; I had just started collecting a few of the books when the world more-or-less shut down. Aside from that, I've read the FATE Core, Legend of the Five Rings and Adeptus Evangelion rulesets, but I never got a chance to play an actual play of any of them. I did play a couple sessions of Exalted back in university, though, which were fun.. even if the gaming group dissolved far too quickly for me to get a proper handling on the rules. On the side, I also like trying to find rule sets for franchises I'm a fan of. Right now, I'm trying to find some kind of system to replicate the Nasuverse, and I've starting work on building a setting for a potential Sailor Moon-themed RPG (probably running in Fate Core). Also, I've never DM'd, so the above plans are almost certainly doomed to failure.
  2. I wasn't sure if it would be more appropriate to pitch this topic here or on the Roleplaying forum, but I noticed the forum's mainly for posting for anyone interested playing this or that game. Hence, I've decided to post this here~ Where I would like to share with you, the good people of the 17th Shard fansite, some of my crazy freaking roleplaying stories as a seasoned Game Master and, occasionally, player. Lo, from games as far as Dungeons & Dragons to Pathfinder, from Call of Cthulhu to homebrews of Avatar: The Last Airbender... and yes, why, even a few stories set in the world of Mistborn (thank you, official Mistborn RPG!). And more importantly, if there's anyone here with their own cool stories about their roleplaying experiences, please! Feel free to share! "What qualifies as a cool or crazy story?" All up to you. Opening the floor... now!
  3. I need a bit of help finding something. There are a lot of games I'm interested in playing and I would really like to get beck into gaming eventually. I love rpgs and want to someday get a computer dedicated to JUST gaming, mostly older games. So I was wondering if there is a simple, reasonably-priced laptop that can play older games ranging from DOS to newer games. Even if I would need an external storage of some sort for it, that would be fine, too. Or even an external storage, one that could hold a lot of games for my current laptop: an HP Pavilion, with something that would allow me to play a range of games from DOS to newer. Either one of those would work. I'm not too concerned about memory, I usually keep my computer plugged in anyway. If it's relevant or useful in any way, examples of games I would like to play are the Ultima series, Might & Magic and Heroes of Might & Magic series and other similar games. Mostly those three series to be honest, but they're quite a wealth of games on their own. Anyway, summery of requirements: -Either laptop OR external storage for current laptop -Capable of games ranging from DOS to newer games, mostly older (examples given above) -Battery power isn't much of an issue to me
  4. Hi guys! Not sure if I should post this in this forum or the RPG forum, but the site rules said that advertisements should go here, so here I am. Eleventh Metal is a forum based Mistborn RPG. I realize this place already has the Inquisition, and I certainly don't mean to take anything away from that. Eleventh Metal is something different, however- it's set in the Alloy of Law era, following the mysterious "Day of Return" when full Feruchemists and Mistborn began reappearing in the world. It's just starting, so we're in search of new members- plenty of roles that can be filled, here! On the Day of Return, two years after the events of Alloy of Law, the sun went red, ash fell from the sky, and the earth shook. Soon after, people began Snapping into Mistborn, and full Feruchemists began being born among the Terris people again. Atium began to appear once more in the world, and there are even rumors that Lerasium can be found, if you know where to look. It's been eighteen years since the day of return, and while the world has mostly managed to adjust to the changes, there is still instability, to say the least. What happened on the Day of Return? Those who are Cosmere aware know that Pathists have noted that Harmony has been oddly silent since the Day. The mists come more and more often. Mistborn stalk the streets, and there are whispers of a new power that leaves its holders with spikes in their eyes... Anyway, we'd love to have anyone who finds the idea interesting. There's chances to play just about any character you can imagine, a giant new world to explore. Take a peak, and maybe join us. It'll be fun.
