Did Dalinar still have his memory the his brother died?
Cyprian Wiley posted a question in Cosmere Q&A
Hi, I am not sure about the timeline and I was not able to find it out myself. But did Dalinar still have his memory about his wife when his brother died? I think, no, as far as I understand it, he "got rid of it" before that, but I am not sure. -
Idea: Use hemalurgic bullets to allow Harmony to control Set members. As an agent of Harmony, it makes a lot of sense to have a dedicated gun for shooting hemalurgic earrings. Of course, Harmony would need to be complicit, and I don't know how he'd feel about that, but he was willing to do it to stop Paalm, so why not for Telsin? Question: Can hemalurgy be used to steal memories? It stands to reason that it could, seeing as you can steal physical strength (Koloss) and such. If so, hemalurgy could be used against captured spies, and becomes all the more terrifying.

Ok so following on from the totally awesome new information we got for the KR chart I have made a few connections.... Shallash is Herald of the Lightweavers Shallash is destroying statues of herself (particularly the eyes!!) Shallan is a Lightweaver Shallan has perfect memory / artistic ability beyond 'normal' Lightweavers have 'Light' and 'Transformation' Eyes are all about the perception of light by humans Eyes are the 'window to the soul' Memory - Drawing - Eyes - Light - Lightweaving I can't help but think there is a connection here, it is too perfect! IIRC, WoB said that Shallan's memory / drawing is not a Surge power, but also has a magical aspect to it...

There seem to be some interesting parallels between Memories and different types of beings in the cosmere. It seems like memories and sentience are the easiest thing to lose any time there's Cognitive dissonance. Obviously, memories are stored in the Cognitive DNA. For instance: Kandra and Mistwraiths vs Returned and Lifeless. If you spike a mistwraith, it becomes a kandra. Do you think if you spike a Lifeless, it could gain sentience, and maybe even memories (either it's own or from the spike-donor). A spike seems the easiest way to bridge the damage between Physical and Cognitive, though I'll bet there are others that we haven't seen yet. Some other instances that have come up: Seons whose bonded were taken by the Reod. Spren transitioning from the Cognitive to the Physical Realm (they leave their memories behind?). Dalinar and the memories of his wife. Terrismen/women when they put things into their copperminds. The Stormfather describes himself as "I AM THE MEMORY MEN CREATE FOR HIM, NOW THAT HE IS GONE. " The Lightweavers and their mnemonic abilities, like Shallan's Memories. Any other instances that I missed? Thoughts?

I don't have any solid proof for this theory. I don't even have much reason. The only bit I have is this: Hoid has an insane memory. Yes, it could be due to the fact that he's a story teller. But still… his memory makes it possible. Of course, Hoid also may have possible ways of tapping into the power of any of the Shards, which may be even more likely. Maybe we'll find out in the Dragonsteel series.
