  1. Allomancer Senn Conrad looked disconsolately at the table. It was sparsely laid - a sign of the hard times his house had fallen into. Of course, there was no danger of going hungry. The fields full of skaa were proof against that eventuality. But his father's reckless trading ventures had embeggared the house, and upon his death, Senn had inherited a house nearly in default on numerous loans. By the skin of his teeth and a few well-timed lucky breaks, he had made it through. The only loans remaining were in the process of being paid off. His trading network was beginning to grow again. House Conrad had a future. Until now. He turned the letter over and over in his hands. The missive was fairly worded, but loaded with innuendo all the same. The message was clear. His daughter was to be married off to create a merger with a client house of Venture, one of the most powerful of the Great Houses. The marriage would have been a light thing had his only son not died the previous month. His daughter could have carried on the family line, of course, made sure that there still remained a House Conrad when he was gone. But the terms of the marriage contract demanded by Straff - the odious head of an odious House! - denied that possibility. In a couple of decades, there would not be a Conrad. Perhaps he could marry again, have another son? But Venture was notoriously ruthless against those who defied their wishes. And, as Venture had recently purchased the last of his loans from House Erikeller, there were direct forms of compulsion they could apply... Well, what they didn't know was that he had saved just enough funds to pay off the debts. There would be nothing left to expand the business, which was why he hadn't cleared the books yet. It was only a year's worth of payments left, and he could leverage that money to ensure their future prosperity. But, given the circumstances, a cash-strapped House with no debt was better off than a flush House with Venture pulling it's strings. After all, what could Straff do about it once the debt was paid? Welcome to LG34: Allomancer! The players are members of the manor guard of House Conrad, a minor client house of House Venture. The House Lord is pushing back against Venture's attempts to meddle in his business, and as a response, House Venture has sent an elite team of infiltrators to ensure Lord Conrad's compliance. "Convenient" raids by skaa rebels have managed to destroy the most recent shipment of Allomantic metals, and the guard captains have given strict orders to prevent metal hoarding. Metals are supposed to be kept in the guard's vault. Of course, this has the effect of creating a black market of metal trading among the guardsmen, and even the non-Allomancers are getting in on the action. As the stakes rise, nobody knows who they can trust, and who might just stab them in the back. This game is set roughly 15 years before Mistborn: The Final Empire, and may contain spoilers for the first Mistborn book. 3. Chapter Eight: Nightwatcher The sun dipped into the clouds above the hidden valley. The adventurers watched it from above, seeing the sun project patterns of dancing light onto the tops of the clouds. Skai’s Remnant broke through them as he came up from below. “He’s here. Come on, friends, let’s land!” No doubt the adventureres were wondering who “he” was. They would find out soon enough. As they all descended back down through the clouds, Ister Mo suddenly shouted, “Look! Behind us!” A group of forms approach from below. They appear to be riding dragons and are wearing distinctive armor which several of the adventurers recognize. “Huns,” Skai’s Remnant said. “Looks like they’ve upgraded from horses. We have to take evasive action! Get to the ground as soon as possible. Land near the lake, at the center of the valley!” From afar, Shan Yu smiled. “How many adventurers does it take to deliver the message to all of Roshar that we’re taking over?” He answered his own question: “Zero. Their bones will deliver the message for us.” - Skai’s Remnant landed in the valley beside the caravan. The caravan stopped. Then, a single rider came out to meet him. He was wearing full Shardplate. As soon as the plated Rider saw Remnant, he dismounted and removed his helmet. Dalinar Kholin himself. When he spoke, his voice was trembling. “You really came! I thought that was just a vision.” Skai’s Remnant smiled. “We both know it wasn’t a vision. After all, I gave you something. Something that I have need of urgently.” Dalinar walked back to the caravan and found a box—the box Skai’s Remnant had given him in a previous visit to this time. “I kept it, as you knew I would. Use it well.” The other adventurers began to fall from the sky, disengaging their wings and readying their weapons as they landed. Skai’s Remnant counted them off. One of them was missing—Ister. He looked around and saw Ister hovering above the surface of the lake. “No!” - The creature rose out of the lake, and Ister Mo floated a few steps back. It was like a spren, but hundreds of times larger and deep black. It spoke in a gentle yet powerful voice that echoed throughout the entire valley, but Ister was the only one who could hear it, maybe even the only one who could see it. Was he just having a vision? “Travelers come from the far reaches of Roshar seeking fortune and judgment. Tell me, little one, what do you request of the great Nightwatcher?” The sound of the Dragon Huns’ wings grew louder. “I want the power to save my friends.” “To save? Or to destroy?” Ister swallowed. “Those are two edges of the same sword.” “Indeed,” said the Nightwatcher. “And it is this sword that shall be your inheritance. To save and to destroy, to destroy and to save…what difference does it make except the side you’re on? Ister Mo, I grant you the power to save, but at the cost of destruction—or the power to destroy, at the cost of salvation. The choice is yours.” The Nightwatcher vanished, and Ister screamed. - It feels like I’m…splitting apart… Like any instant…I’ll scatter into a million pieces. But deep, deep in my soul, there’s a burning feeling I can’t describe. A burning feeling that WON’T let me die. This isn’t just about us, is it, Shan Yu? If you get past me, you’ll destroy them all. Everyone’s hopes, everyone’s dreams, vanquished in an instant. But I WON’T let you do that. Right now, I can feel everyone’s hearts beating as one. And we all have ONE goal. To defeat YOU. To save, or to destroy, it doesn’t matter. For the sake of this whole world… I, ISTER MO, will STRIKE YOU DOWN! In a brilliant flash of light, he transformed. His entire form radiated with power. He raised his glowing hands and attacked. - Skai’s Remnant watched with amazement as the transfigured man fought. He spun between his attackers as if in midair. With every movement of his hands, beams of light shot out and vaporized whatever they hit, leaving a trail as they flew from him. The warrior jumped onto the side of one of the dragons, killing the rider with a shower of light and steering the dragon aside into another. He leapt and twisted through the air, destroying the flying attackers before they even got near. It was a blaze of lights and fury, and it was beautiful. Men with the wings of eagles and demons watched from the ground in utter amazement. And then…it was over. The last dragon crashed to the ground, blood leaking from its side, and Ister Mo descended. The beams of light still hung in the air, tracing a web of where he had fought. “Salvation…and destruction,” said the voice of the Nightwatcher. The trails of light shot back into Ister and exploded. - Skai’s Remnant approached the lake. It was eerily peaceful; though bodies littered the ground, no sound was heard but the whistling wind. He walked across the surface of the water and was enveloped in the vision of the Nightwatcher. “Travelers come from the far reaches of Roshar seeking fortune and judgment. But you…you are different. What is your request.” Skai’s Remnant uttered only a single word: “Tanavast.” The following was contributed by The Flash. Shoot him some upvotes! Eobard appeared in the cognitive realm. Exterminated. Darn. He felt drawn beyond, but he refused to go. He had better things to do than die. Lightning flashed around him, and a rift in the cognitive realm opened. And eobard remembered how he had come here: in battle with the Flash, he had vibrated his body at a ultra-high frequency and he had come… here. So, Eobard stepped into the rift, and slowed down his frequency. Perhaps one day he would return. this place had piqued his curiosity. Battling the Flash, was becoming boring. A new universe to discover? He hadn't known entirely what was going on, but perhaps with some more visits… - When Eobard entered into the rift, he entered into the a maelstrom of red lightning- the Negative Speed Force, that which gave him power. He was in his element now. He took off within it, and soon he came to an exit point. From there, he tumbled into Central City. Home of the Flash. Eobard sighed. One day he would return to that place. It had been so much fun! One day, he promised himself. And with a KRAKOOM he went to go torture Barry Allen. This is a Night cycle lasting 24 hours. 4. Day 9: Brawlers, Redux The news that they had found and killed a third Venture spy should have made the remaining guards happy. Instead, it only increased the tension. Because there could be more out there, and nobody knew who. More and more fights broke out among the guards during common hours. The last of these fights left Mehir the mute and Jeffonimo with broken arms. Shortly after, the officers closed down the bar. One way or another, it would be over soon. ------------------------------------ Day 9 has begun! It will end at 10:30 PM, Mountain Daylight Time, June 25th. Mehir (Metacognition) was Injured! 5. Night 8: Clumsiness Killed the Venture Argyle was well known for being a clumsy man. It was a particular quirk of his, and he prided himself on using it to blend in. Nobody expected a clumsy oaf of being a spy. It couldn't possibly have been his fault that everything was falling apart around him. "There he goes! Get him!" He darted down a corridor, deeper into the basement floor of the manor. He had to get away. It wasn't his fault he had slept through a spy meeting, and then when he showed up late to the appointed place with his notes and plans, had disturbed a pair of guards dicing. He was the accountant of the spy ring, for the Lord Ruler's sake, not a warrior! He shouldn't have to be doing all of this running and hiding and trying to avoid being killed. That was Remart's job! Except Remart had gone off and gotten himself discovered, the fool. Argyle skidded to a halt at an intersection of hallways. One led back up, to where he could get out. The other was a dead end, and he had gotten turned around enough that he couldn't remember which was which. Just his luck. Down to blind chance, he supposed. Those never worked out well for him. After a moment's hesitation, he ran left. Luck wasn't on his side. The hallway ended in a locked door, and behind him he could hear the sound of angry voices getting closer. He wouldn't have time to go back now. He kicked desperately the door, trying to open it, but it wouldn't yield. Behind him, he heard the shouts of recognition. "I found him! This way!" It was over. Nothing more to do now. Argyle knelt down, clamping his arms around his knees, waiting for them. It didn't take long. ------------------------------------ Night 8 has begun! It will end at 10:30 PM, Mountain Daylight Time, June 23rd. Argyle (Sart) was lynched! They were a Venture Tineye! 6. Night 7: The Sleeper Jay was afraid. Against all odds, he had made it into the guard crew of House Conrad. Now he just had to make sure nobody ever found out his secret - he was blind. At first it was easy. His hearing was well-developed, and he walked with a dueling cane as if it were a fashion statement. It would take very observant eyes indeed to notice that he was using it to tap out the floor in front of him. He picked up a reputation for clumsiness, but he was mostly fine with that. Until he heard the gossip at the common room tables. "Did you see Jay fall over that stool today? You'd have to be blind to miss it!" After that, his fear got the better of him. He started to hide, to avoid assignments, to avoid interaction of all kinds. Eventually, he just started to sleep. Might build up resentment against him, but it kept his secret safe. It was unfortunate for him that, after a few murders, resentment tended to express itself in lethal ways. It was probably fortunate for him that he never woke up to find that out. ------------------------------------ Night 7 has begun! It will end at 10:30 PM, Mountain Daylight Time, June 20th. 7. Day 7: Fall of the Steelrunner Ribis loved the nights. They were a time he could get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and be one with the mists. He laughed as he raced along the top of the wall, feeling the comforting warmth of steel burning in his belly. His stores were very low, and he hadn't been able to get any more through the black market. Rumor was that the contacts had all been murdered. Well, that was one thing they couldn't blame on him. Well, Lance maybe. But it wasn't his fault that old Beet Asper had gotten murdered. And if Lance hadn't been acting all up and suspicious like he was a Venture spy, Ribis wouldn't have gone and acted...impetuously. That was a good word, he thought, as he launched himself from the wall on wings of steel. But at least he had found out Mila. That should be worth the death of an old black marketeet, right? He landed on the top of one of the manor house's towers, feeling his reserves stretched out to their limits, and pulled out the last vial of steel on his belt. Not a lot - certainly not enough to go hunting for spies to kill tonight. But enough to give him one last flight before he turned in. He laughed recklessly as he drained the alcohol, felling the grit of the metal slide down his throat. Then, he jumped, burning steel. Or at least, he tried to. Nothing happened. He just barely managed to wonder what had happened before he impacted the ground at a...terminal velocity. He never knew that the spies had swapped his vial of steel for a different metal while he was out. Not that knowing would have made much of a difference anyways. ------------------------------------ Day 7 has begun! It will end at 10:30 PM, Mountain Daylight Time, June 19th. 8. Day 6 - Brawling The common room was normally silent since Locke Tekiel had been murdered. The long tension had strained everyone; guards had begun walking in pairs everywhere to avoid Venture assassins or their fellow guardsmen on an impromptu search for traitors. This night was different, for some reason. The outright murder of Cluny - not by a mob, either, but by a small group of their own who just decided to do it - had the room buzzing. Accusations were being thrown back and forth. In such an atmosphere, it wasn't surprising when a fist followed. The brawl eventually caught up most of the guardsmen in the room, including the bartender. Although it took quite some time, the officers finally managed to restore order. In the fray, though, a number of guardsmen had been injured sufficiently to be taken off of active duty. Remart suffered a severely sprained shoulder, Garshin a broken leg, and Boris had taken a chair to the ribs hard enough to crack three of them. He personally suspected that whoever had swung it had been burning pewter, but he wasn't about to pursue that line of questioning. Most of the guardsmen here were skaa, and an Allomancer among them wasn't a thing one wanted to be aware of in any capacity. ------------------------------------ Day 6 has begun! It will end at 10:30 PM, Mountain Daylight Time, June 16th. Remart (Jondesu) was Injured! Garshin (Yitzi2) was Injured! Boris (Elenion) was Injured! 9. Night 5: The Rat Who Fought Like A Man The expected retribution for the murder of their captain never appeared. Lord Conrad had locked himself in his study, and was seeing nobody but his Terris steward. The other officers of the guard seemed reluctant to press the issue, perhaps noting that draconian punishment on a set of frightened men with weapons was not likely to end well for them. In the midst of the apprehension, an idle conversation began in a bunkroom. "Hey, Mehir. Did you know that we have a rat running around in the colors of the guard?" Mehir looked back, blandly disinterested. Barry Allen pressed onwards. "Fine. So he's not a rat, but he thinks he is. Says he's got this prehensi-whatsit tail with a spearhead on it that he uses to murder his enemies. Poisoned, too, to hear him tell it. The fellow's gone crazier than old Lord Venture." Mehir nodded obliquely. Remart, lying in the top bunk on the other side of the room, looked over. "Can't you two just shut up? A guy's trying to get some sleep here. I've got night shift in an hour!" Barry wasn't one to give up though, and at this hour, with a little drink in him, he was bolder than ever. "Come on, Remart. You can't say that that's not the craziest thing you've ever heard of? I think we ought to go do something about that. Sounds like a tell-tale sign of Venture assassins to me! Poison? That's what got Absolen, poor guy!" After a little more cajoling, the three of them went off to find Cluny. Whatever was wrong with his brain, it hadn't affected his fighting abilities, though. The little man fought like a demon, but in the end, three on one odds was just too much. Forcing him back, back, back to a random bell tower that had appeared in the middle of the barracks, back, back into the floor. Barry Allen stopped. So did the others, forced back by almost a physical pressure. A voice spoke at once in their minds. DO NOT INTERFERE. Something was happening, because Cluny had stopped near a long rope, trailing down from a bell that had suddenly appeared. He appeared to be shouting at someone standing on the bell. There was an exchange of defiant shouts, Cluny's insane cackle became a shout of fear. GOOOOOONNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The great bell fell. R.I.P. 10. Night 4: Mutiny In the common room of the barracks, the mood was sour. The series of murders had left the guardsmen and women in a sullen mood, underlaid by an almost palpable fear. No cards were played at the tables, and no dice rolled in the corners. The laughter that had until recently filled the place was silent. Locke Tekiel made his rounds, checking to make sure that nobody was fighting, watching the sentries for signs of sleepiness or drink. And, of course, watching for hoarding of metals. It was prohibited, and it was his job to enforce that sort of thing. As he entered the common room, even the sullen murmur of voices grew silent - a sign that someone was disobeying orders if there ever was one. He spotted one soldier in the back covering something with his hand, and he walked towards him purposefully. The soldier tensed as Locke stopped in front of him. "What is that in your hand?" His voice was stern and inflexible. "N-N-N-Nothing, sir!" The other man was terrified. A sure troublemaker. He'd have to make an example here. Locke grabbed his hand in a practiced motion, finding a pressure point that caused the frightened soldier to clench his hand in pain, revealing a small pile of pewter shavings, apparently carved off of his mug of ale. "Hoarding of metals, forbidden. I'll have to lock you up for the night for this, you know." A chair scraped behind him. "You motherless fool! The Venture spies are murdering us like flies, and here you go on about locking someone up when all they did was try to figure out a way to protect themselves? Who do you think you are?" Insubordination. Aggression towards a superior officer. Flagrant disrespect of a scion of House Tekiel. Locke was going to enjoy taking this one down. He whirled around to face his accuser. "I am your captain, and don't you forget it!" Another man, swaying slightly with drink, stood up. "You know what I think?" he asked, his voice slightly slurred. "I think the captain wants us to be unprotected. I think he's in bed with the Ventures! He's gettin' paid good money to make sure we are walking around like targets while the assassins sit pretty in their hideout." Locke pivoted to face him, but a number of other soldiers were standing now. He summoned a voice of command, and shouted "Are you insinuating that I would deal with the ash-cursed spawn of the House of Venture?" The mood was turning ugly, and dark mutters were flashing around. Locke began to eye the exit, but there were three tables full of drinking soldiers giving dark glances his direction between him and safety. The first soldier made a move towards him, and the moment of suspense his authority had bought him broke. Locke darted towards the door. It was as he had expected. He didn't make it. ------------------------------------ Night 4 has begun! It will end at 10:30 PM, Mountain Daylight Time, June 11th. Locke Tekiel (OrlokTsubodai) was lynched! 11. Day 4: Fatal Attraction Absolen had a problem. A big one. He was skaa, a worker from the fields who by some stroke of luck or fate had managed to escape that drudgery and ended up a trusted soldier in House Conrad's guards. That was public knowledge - the entire barracks knew about his heritage, and he'd told his story over more drinks at the tavern than he could count. The problem was twofold. The first was in the note he had received from Mila, a fellow guardswoman, inviting him to a private dinner. Not that he had any objection to Mila personally, of course. She was charming, witty, and certainly half the barracks was madly in love with her. But she was a noble born. Sure, it was a House that had fallen on hard times, hard enough that she had hired out as a guard for a noble house that wasn't her own. But still, a noble with a pedigree that stretched back to a line sanctioned by the Lord Ruler himself. And he was skaa. The note was wholly innocent, if you just read the words. (It was still surprising, even now, that he had ended up learning how to read. A plantation skaa didn't need the skill. But Conrad valued literacy in his soldiers, and Absolen had qualified with gusto.) But it was full of the type of implied meanings that could get a skaa killed if he didn't watch himself. He'd lived under the shadow of the Inquisition his entire life. He knew how this worked. The second prong of the problem was his secret. His deep, dark, dirty secret. He was Metalborn. Lurcher, precisely. And that secret was one that was not known around the barracks. Blurting that out in public was a recipe for getting himself on the wrong end of an Inquisitor's axe. And that was a fate that mama's little Metalborn was going to avoid if it was the last thing he did. Just at that moment, of course, Mila turned the corner in front of him. "Absolen! Fancy meeting you here. Did you get my message?" "Yes, Lady. I did." The silence that followed stretched just long enough to be awkward. "Well, are you coming?" "Umm, I'm not sure Lady..." "I'll make something special, just for us." Her eyes smoldered, just slightly. Well, with an offer like that, who was he to refuse her? ------------------------------------ Dinner was exquisite. Of course, Absolen shouldn't have been suprised. He'd always suspected Mila of having far more talents than she revealed. He burped in appreciation, sipping his after-dinner tea. Quite flavorful, and seasoned with just the right amount of honey. Mila flashed him a sultry smile as the servant took the dishes away. "Thank you for joining me, Absolen. I've been wanting to have some time alone with you for a while now. Your competence has greatly impressed me. You are a credit to the unit, to be sure." "Well, I am always happy to oblige you, Lady Mila." His stomach was starting to get a little queasy. Lord Ruler, he hated it when his body worked against him like this. It would be just his luck to cap this evening off with vomiting all over Lady Mila's rooms. His innards twisted in a sharp pang all of a sudden, and he stood, a little shaky on his feet. "I'm sorry. I'm not feeling well all of a sudden. Can you excuse me for a moment?" "Oh? Yes. I suspect that would be the poison. As I said, I'm impressed by your competence. I'm afraid we can't have someone of your caliber running around interfering with our plans." He staggered a few steps, then dropped to his knees. Poison? Mila had...poisoned him? On his knees, he lurched forward, catching himself on his hands and trying to crawl towards the door. His stomach was all sorts of angry, now, like a swarm of hornets was inside and intent on stinging their way through the lining and out to the open sky. His head swum, and he began to lose focus. It had been a smooth operation. Smooth enough that even now, as he slumped onto the floor, he almost didn't believe it. It was difficult to tell through the pain, but he thought he heard a thunk, and a cry of pain. Then Mila fell on her side in front of him, clutching at her chest. Blood was pooling from a hole there. His stomach chose that moment to let go, and his vomit hit her face. Her pretty mouth twisted in disgust, but no words came out. Absolen smiled, as darkness began closing in. As far as last moments went, it beat an Inquisitor, hands down. ------------------------------------ Day 4 has begun! It will end at 10:30 PM, Mountain Daylight Time, June 10th. 12. Day 3: Murder Most Foul...Just Don't Ask Us Who It Was Valbar faced a dilemma. He always ran into dilemmas, it seemed, regardless of whether or not he tried to avoid them. It probably related to being ignored. He tried joining the army. Nobody noticed. He tried bodybuilding - still nobody noticed. He even took up interior decorating for a week or two, but that just made things worse. No matter what he did, nobody noticed him. But that wasn't even the worst of it. Tonight, he faced a despicable dilemma - one that taxed his ability to find a solution. Did he want a baywrap, or a chupaqueso? A difficult choice, to be sure. And the commissary wouldn't make both for him - they'd call it "greedy" and "gluttonous" and "taking more than his fair share." All while not noticing him. And, tangentially, he also wondered about how to get his fellow guards to listen to his theories on which of them were Venture spies. They were very good theories - he had come up with them himself! He was certain that if he could just get noticed, they'd be able to sort out these Venture assassins in no time at all and get back to the dreadfully dull business of guarding when nobody was actually out there. He liked that - it didn't matter if he got noticed or not on those nights. Which brought him to his real dilemma. He was pretty sure that burning Zinc could get him noticed. He'd never tried it before, not since he was told that being able to do so made him "half-skaa." Apparently this was a bad thing? He never did get quite clear on that. Anyways, he was reasonably sure that if he burned Zinc, terrifying men with spiked for eyes would come and take him away to the dungeons of the Lord Ruler and there do terrible things to him. He was pretty sure that he wanted to avoid that sort of notice. On the other hand, he could also start shouting and yelling. That would be much less likely to get spike-eyed terrors involved, but similarly less likely to actually attract attention. He decided to shout - spike-eyed terrors were just too much for him at the moment. One group trying to kill you at a time, was what he always said. "Hey, everyone! I think I know who the assassins are!" Nobody in the hallway turned around. Nobody in the bunkroom poked their head out the door. Failure. Again. "Why does nobody notice me!" He yelled to the uncaring ceiling. Just then, he felt a sharp pain in the small of his back. A low voice whispered in his ear. "Some of us noticed you." He fell over, bleeding. As he lay there, he watched two of his fellow guards walk past, dragging a struggling Barry Allen between them. He heard them talking as they passed. "Did you hear something? I thought it sounded like somebody was shouting in here." His companion snorted. "I think you're hearing things." "No, seriously. It sounded like that bug guy. What was his name again? Built like a mountain." "Have you been drinking again? If we had any mountains on our guard crew, I'm sure I'd have noticed. Now come on. Let's get this fella to the brig. Captain's orders." As his vision faded, Valbar shook his head to himself. Typical. Even bleeding out in the middle of the hallway, he just couldn't get noticed. Maybe he should have tried the Zinc. ------------------------------------------------------- Day 3 has begun! It will end at 10:30 PM, Mountain Daylight Time, June 7th. 13. Day 2: Shipping Disputes Beet Asper was annoyed. His contact hadn't showed in days. Lord Ruler, what did it take to get reliable suppliers in this country town. It was almost like there was a manor-wide crackdown on Allomantic metals or something. He hated moving out here from Luthadel. But tonight, he was hopeful. Just maybe, his contact would show and he'd be able to get some metals for his buyers. They were almost starting to think he was holding out on them, and that certainly wouldn't be healthy. And when you'd been around as long as he had, you learned to value your health. A dark shape moved under the nearby tree. Beet almost jumped, before realizing that he was waiting for just that sort of thing. He called out. "Lord Ruler, man. You nearly killed me. Maybe give a guy a little warning next time before you just sneak up on him." The plain looking man stepped out of the shadows. "Only almost? Pity. Guess I'll have to try again." His hand flickered and something glinted. Beet had just enough time to realize that it wasn't his contact before the glass dagger took him in the throat. As he gasped his last breaths, his killer walked over, joined by another figure, hooded and cloaked. "Sloppy work. You might have given our whole operation away." The first assassin might have said something back to defend himself. But if he did, Beet Asper never knew. ------------------------------------------ Day 2 has begun!
