  1. How old is Khriss during all of the books? And do worldhoppers age slower or something, because she is in secret history, era 2, stormlight, and of course white sand which must have come first. My guess is at least 230 years old during Stormlight.
  2. Does Gevin actually loved Khriss? He mentioned that she deserves better lover
  3. So Khriss… We know that she is native to Taildan, and that she is a major worldhopper. But Who Is She? What happens after the cliff hanger in White Sand 2? What is her position in Silverlight? And which systems has she been to? For that matter, who is Nazh?
  4. I have looked in many places for an answer to this question but haven't found it so I'll ask it myself. We know that Taldain is currently unaccessable: Questioner This is about certain people from Nalthis... living on Roshar and how they are living on Roshar. Could they also do that on Scadrial? Brandon Sanderson Scadrial would be a lot harder because getting the Investiture out of things on Scadrial is tough, there are ways you could do it but it would be much more difficult. Questioner Does that have to do with the Investiture being more directed? Brandon Sanderson Yeah, it's more the genetic component is a big part of it. The directed component-- In Roshar its just flowing around all over the place. For instance, if he could get to a Shardpool he could feed off that, but then he's at the Shardpool and that's kind of dangerous and things. Roshar is really the easiest place in the cosmere for him to consistently get this sort of stuff. Taldain would not be bad either, that's the White Sand world but it is inaccessible currently in the cosmere Salt Lake ComicCon FanX 2016 (March 26, 2016) So how long has Taldain been inaccessible? And how did Khriss leave Taldain and become a worldhopper if it is supposedly inaccessible? I didn't think that perpendicularities could be one way, but I could be misinformed.
  5. Why are Darksiders dark-skinned? Since there is no sun it would make sense for them to be white, right? Same question but reversed for Daysiders.
  6. There is a Kenton Street in Luthadel. Khriss. What did you do to Kenton. My idea is that Kenton died, and that Khriss was there while Luthadel was built, then wrote down Kenton Street as a memorial to him. Thoughts?
  7. From the album Cosmeme & Crossmere

Prompt is what Nazh wrote about during his mission in Words of Radiance: (Poor Nazh. Let's just give him a new coat XD)
  8. Not satisfied enough, but I will probably never finish this. An attempt to portrait Khrissalla. I don't like the hat. Please don't look at the hat.
  9. I searched for others discussing this, but didn't come across anything. If you know of a thread that already brought this up and I missed it, just let me know the source and I'll gladly remove my post. I've read every story in the Cosmere and am now going back and re-reading in hopes of discovering knew things I missed or couldn't have known the first time through. This is a minor discovery IF it's true, but interesting none the less. First, I believe that Vathi from Sixth of the Dusk is Khriss (just found out this has been confirmed as false)... BUT I also believe that she may be an allomancer. Keep in mind that SotD is the farthest story into the future according to the known Cosmere timeline... so who knows what has happened to Khriss between now and then. Here's an excerpt from Sixth of the Dusk: So the part that struck me as a dead giveaway was the very last line, "...or was she just lucky?" If you remember in The Final Empire, Vin would always refer to her allomantic ability as her 'luck'. When I read this, I felt as if Sanderson purposefully wrote that line in order to hint at the fact that Vathi/Khriss was using her 'luck'... in this specific case, tin. I don't know if she's just a Misting or if she becomes a Mistborn as some point, but regardless, I believe she's burning tin in SotD. What do you think? Am I a far out fanboy looking for connections where there are none, or do you think I picked up on a clever nod from Sanderson?
  10. When Wax is at a fancy party (i forget which one specifically) he asks one of the ladies there to dance. She accepts, but then another lady (not much description, or name) sweeps in and asks him questions about his Twinborn abilities. She is never seen again. My intuition demands that this is khriss, one of the known Worldhoppers. Anyone else agree? Disagree?
  11. Hey all, just got through my second read through of Volume 2, and something caught my attention the second time through. Was this something they changed or am I simply mis-remembering something? Other than that has anyone caught sight of our favorite trickster? Last I heard the musician from the first volume was the best suspect and I didn't sense any new contenders this volume.
  12. In page 789 of the American Version, Hoid-as-Wit and Shallan are discussing the story of 'The Girl who Looked Up', with Hoid-as-Wit stating that "It's a story from long ago...things were different in that time." However, when Shallan creates the Illusion, he says "...it's not dark enough" (page 790), with the illusion "leaving them standing in the darkness of night, lit only by a frail set of stars." Hoid then goes on to say that people still had to live, even without light, living, farming and eating in the darkness, except for the one girl who wanted to find out the answers about the wall, and eventually climbing the wall to find that on the other side was "God's Light" (page 792), and that she sneaked up to the Light, and she brought it back with her. "To the other side. To the...to the land of shadows..." according to Shallan. This sounds very similar to the story of Khriss in White Sand, the ever inquisitive girl who goes from the Darkside to Dayside in her quest to find the Sand Masters, and to those who have read White Sand Prime, we know that she takes Sand back with her to Darkside at the end of the book. What d'y'all think? Am i clutching at straws here?
  13. This is 3 or 4 questions in one, so bear with me here. I'm sure someone else has noticed this, but I just started rereading WoR, and on the page that has sketches of Bridge Four's tattoos, there's a note that reads, "I had to spend hours watching bridgemen to sketch their stupid forehead glyphs so you could have them, my friend. I'm pretty sure this is how they were designed. -Nazh" So, Nazh is on Roshar during WoR. Do we know which character he is posing as/does he appear on screen? Also, why does Khriss(I'm assuming he's writing to Khriss, but correct me if I'm wrong) want to see the glyphs of Bridge Four? By these sketches, Nazh also seems to be fairly talented at art, is there any other Cosmere art we know of that's drawn by him?
  14. In a cosmere version of Taylor Swift's Shake It Off, I present Khriss singing Nazrilof (I've spoilered one stanza that deals with Secret History) Nazrilof You say you’re not that tough Complain you’ve got it rough But we don’t have enough, mmm-mmm We still don’t have enough, mmm-mmm No need to act so gruff Just one more list of stuff We still don’t have enough, mmm-mmm No we don’t have enough, mmm-mmm You just keep collecting, searching and detecting. I’m sure you can do it! I’ll be here, There’s so much left for me to write! ‘Cause mistings gonna burn (burn, burn, burn, burn) And god-kings will Return (-turn, -turn, -turn, -turn) There’s so much still to learn (learn, learn, learn, learn) Nazrilof! Nazrilof! Ferrings have metalminds (minds, minds, minds, minds) While Radiants surgebind (bind, bind, bind, bind) I feel so far behind (-hind, -hind, -hind, -hind) Nazrilof! Nazrilof! Your map of Luthadel Was annotated well! Do one of Fjordell, mmm-mmm And then these other twelve, mmm-mmm Just keep collecting, searching and detecting. I’m sure you can do it! I’ll be here, There’s so much still I have to write! Awakening takes Breath (breath, breath, breath, breath) Shades linger after death (death, death, death, death) So many facts still left (left, left, left, left) Nazrilof! Narilof! Nazrilof! {repeats} Hey, hey, hey Just think! While you’ve been getting maps and charts about the manifestations of investiture across worlds, You might have been a shade back on Thren-o-dy Bavadin says I can’t come home She’s like, “Not a chance!” but I’ll just work with Nazh. And that fella over there with the shocking white hair Couldn’t tell you near as much about Arcana. A spike worn in the ear (ear, ear, ear, ear) Taln’s Scar and Reya’s Tear (tear, tear, tear, tear) Describe the whole cosmere (-mere, -mere, -mere, -mere) Nazrilof! Narilof! Nazrilof! Nazrilof! [repeats]
  15. On page 207 of Bands of Mourning, a woman darker-skinned than most Terris and wearing braids intruded on Wax's dance with a Lady Demoux in New Seran. She was curious in the science behind a crasher's powers, and had statistics concerning the frequency of their birth. She also said, and I quote, "Infant mortality on Scadrial is not as bad as some regions, but still shockingly high." She seemed comfortable in a social setting, going so far as to lead in the dance steps. Now, does this or does this not seem like Khriss of Taldain? I apologize if there has already been a thread concerning this, I conducted a quick search but I didn't put all that much effort into it so I might have missed something. Thank you for your time.
  16. I was wondering whether Brandon has decided that all the information and stories about Taldain, Khriss and the Shard Autonomy and her isolationism will only be dealt with in graphic novel form because that would not be very effective would it? All this cosmere stuff I think would be much better explained in written form even if it is in a short novella as graphic novels tend to be on the action heavy side which would not be compatible with the sort of scholarly tone set by Khriss herself.
  17. This is a song from the viewpoint of Nazh, and also a tribute to Back to the Future. Tell me, Khrissy Where are we going this time? Is this Weathering Or Marabethia? All I wanted to do Was draw a map and sleep So take me away I don’t mind But you better promise me I’ll be back in time. Gotta get back in time! Don’t bet your future On one path in the map! Better remember Scadrians always Snap! Please don’t send me to Roshar! Don’t wanna be wet again! So take me away I don’t mind But you better promise me I’ll be back in time! Gotta get back in time! Gotta get back in time! Get me back in time! Gotta get back in time! Gotta get back in time! Get back, get back. (Get back, Khrissy.) Gotta get back in time! Gotta get back in time! Get back, get back.
  18. On my reread of Secret History I noticed something - when Nazh gives Kelsier his knife, he says that "Ire were doing this much longer than us". Us meaning him and Khriss. While we don't know when Khriss started her cosmere scholar career, it was definitely after White Sand. We know White Sand is before Elantris and we know Elantris is less than two thousand years before Mistborn First Era. Well, now we don't know how long is "much longer" or when Khriss started doing her thing. We don't know how long before Elantris is White Sand. We know that Ire are really, really, really, really, really old. But all in all together I think we can safely assume Ire (as a group) were doing their thing long before Reod occured.
  19. First of all, I wanna state this is nothing but my own creation.(lol I of course know that our Earth does NOT belong to the Cosmere, however I came up with an idea "what if Khriss studied the Earth and write an essay?" So... the following nonsense is thus created. I wanna also state that I'm not meant to emphasize China because something like "Taiwan share the similar culture and history with it" blah blah. Just on a possibly objective aspect from an extraterrestrial visitor. I believe not an alien will deny how strong China is on our planet. (Hope this won't be too [email protected]@) Anyway, just take a look and share your ideas with me, thanks: ====== (Khriss encountered a singularity in the Cognitive Realm and recognize it as a Perpendicularity. She then jumped into it and eventually arrived the Earth. For there being a energy vortex tunnel (similar to a Perpendicularity) in Tibetan Plateau, Khriss left the Cognitive Realm and entered our planet, later started a series of investigation of this whole new universe..) Gaia System As an unexpected expansion of my research, Gaia, more commonly called Earth, amazed me after all these years of my arcanist life again, with all her features from its civilizations to the Realmic construction. For she not being in the cosmere but another universe, the connection between the three realms of Gaia is widely varied from the type we are accustomed to. Investiture does not exist here, either. I can therefore make use of some End-neutral magic here, with my limited resources at hand. Nonetheless, people here still, have developed highly technologically advanced societies, surpassing the progress we've made in Silverlight, Scadrial, or Taldain. Heavily relying on the manipulations of natural laws, the scientific knowledge Earthian have gained overwhelm us and stretched into a realm where energy and mass could be considered one. This theory, named "quantum mechanics", could probably be the final solution to our studies on the complicated transformation and presentation of Investiture. Speaking of the system it is located, the Gaia System - named Solar System in the language English, is quite a stereotype for system studies. It has several typical features. Eight planets - four small, rocky ones and four gas giants, orbit the sun, three of which is in the habitable zone. However currently only Gaia is available for living. The celestial bodies, if named, are mainly named after gods of an ancient religion. The first one, the proximity to the sun is Mercury, which is lack of atmosphere and extreme. Venus and Mars are in the habitable zone as well, but the former suffers from tense concentration of carbon dioxide and becomes deadly warm, while the latter contrarily has freezing climate and thin atmosphere. There seemed to be life on Mars billion years ago, though now it is nowhere to be found. During my adventure in Gaia, I gradually realized that the cultural diversity here is way too abundant than most places in the cosmere. There are mainly seven cultures and three religions spread over six continents of the world. Interestingly, though no Shard residing, there are some signs that a being similar to a Shard, even Adonalsium, used to influence the world. I found several evidences that this planet could somehow be related to the cosmere. For one, Gaia is also 1.0 cosmere standard of its size and gravitation. This is rarely seen except for Scadrial, which was created by Shards. For another, there are several cultures being so similar to some in the cosmere, as if being transplanted from one universe to the other. For instance, a civilization, ChunGuo (which is called China in English) sitting on the eastern part of Asia continent, is a incredible variant of Rose Empire on Sel. There must be some relations between the both, yet this topic is far beyond my profession. As there are around 200 political states on Gaia now, only two of them strongly affect the planet-wide situation. Aside from ChunGuo, United States of America aka US, is another powerful nation here, culturally dominating the planet as what Vorinism does on Roshar. These two states collide in economy and politics, but not in directly military actions. This could be resulted from the powerful weapons they stored. Bombs of the potential destructive forces from atomic energy are considerably produced, but never being used in the battlefield after World War II, which was the most devastating events in the Gaia history. These nuclear weapons are nothing but symbols of the strengths of countries, as what Rosharans think of the shardblades. One thing confusing me is, that I heard a writer from US is eagerly searching for me, even though I don't acquaint anyone from Gaia before my visiting. I should keep alert to this man, but something instinctively tell me, he might be a key character to resolve my some questions. Again, the highly varied cultures and biodiversity of Gaia cannot be fully commented in this article. Lack of Investiture as it is, the planet is still fascinating with all her characteristics. The studies of Realmic construction here are tough tasks to be dealt with, for the connections between three Realms are much weaker than the cosmere. I narrowly escape from the gap between Physical and Cognitive Realm, and I have no opportunity to observe the Spiritual part of Gaia yet. Despite these obstacles, I will keep dwelling into the secrets of Gaia, hoping to discover more differences between their universe and ours. Innocent like newborns in the cradle, we can take another millennia to study the LaniaKea - a new vocabulary I use to include the universe of Gaia and the cosmere - and keep the curiosity to it and its infinite arcanums for all time. - Khrissalla, written in Taipei, Taiwan; Nov. 22th, 2016 A.D. Sorry for the long post >..< here is your shardblade in reward (wait wut)
  20. Let it be known that I'm so excited about the essays that I haven't even read Edgedancer yet (even though Stormlight is my favourite series). We got some lovely information from Khriss that clarifies so many old questions. I have a few main theories that I want to bring up, that I know some people have already tossed a few of these around, but well, I'm just so excited I needed to make my own thread. Sorry, not sorry. Selish Observations Scadrian Observations (Secret History spoilers as well as Arcanum Unbounded) Taldain Observations Threnodite Observations Drominad Observations I have to go for now, I'll continue later tonight with the Rosharan system, Silverlight, and some theories I've got about all this new info. Thanks for listening to my ramblings. Time to do a complete cosmere reread and hunt for clues.
  21. So, I know nobody is going to be shocked by the revelation that Khriss writes Ars Arcana. But it seems we finally have official confirmation from Peter (I found it in coppermind): Do we have any more confirmations, maybe from Brandon in a WoB or something?
  22. Hello all! White Sand graphic novel vol.1 is coming soon! I'm so excited about it and just drew something. Here's my take on Khriss and Kenton, the two main characters. I hope this will tide you over until the book comes out =)
  23. Finished! Nine characters from eight Shardworlds! From left to right: Dusk from First of the Sun / Kaladin from Roshar / Vasher from Nalthis / Hoid from Yolen / Harmony (Sazed) / Khriss from Taldain / Shai from Sel / Vin from Scadrial / Silence from Threnody This piece is also celebratory art! Happy Chinese New Year 2016 (Year of the monkey)! At first I drew these characters mainly for an online fantasy magazine because they kind of let me (as translator of WoR) introduce Stormlight and the whole Cosmere series in their New Year issue, which meant I’d better add some festival stuff. So here it is - Characters from eight different Shardworlds wishing you a Happy New Year! In China, this is a popular traditional gesture when people give New Year’s greetings. It’s called 作揖 (zuò yī, in spoken language: zuō yī). When you do this, you make a bow with hands folded in front of you and greet others at the same time. Raise your folded hands and then lower them. The motion can be repeated several times. For men, they should use their left hand to cover their right hand (In ancient China, men tended to hold weapon with their right hand, so they covered it when saluting, to reduce hostility and show respect.), while for women, they should do it otherwise and it’s better not to clench the left hand into a fist (You can learn this from the picture above.). If you do it wrong, you will convey some ominous meaning. Please be careful # # # Heck, so many tags! Also seriously, I think we may need a Cosmere crossover art album
  24. Well I've got some information about "Mistborn Secret History" but not able to read it, can anyone provide directly resources, especially about Khriss' quotes? Also there are some paragraphs about Khriss, mentioning that 16 Shard vessels killed and tore Adonalsium together?! It's too shocking and anybody able to have aother explanations? Thx
  25. I was reading BoM late last night, and I saw that broadsheet article that's about talking metal tools. 1 random, unsupported idea flashed through my head, which created a crazy theory. Here we go: This is based on the fact that Warbreaker and Alloy of Law occurred at the same time (roughly) What Khriss and Nazh are doing on Scadrial is looking for the new worldhopping Vasher, but they somehow lost him and don't know which planet he went to, which is why they are on Scadrial. And now for the crazy assumption: Type IV BioChromatic Entities share another characteristic with Type I: That they can modify their appearance. My reasoning is this: Other crazy idea: All BioChromatic entities can modify their appearance Only the sentient one (Types I and IV) have the willpower to do so We see Type IIIs changing to look like they're alive, fabrics looking like muscle and the like So. Khriss and Nazh lost Vasher somehow, and are searching Scadrial by looking for a disguised Nightblood. There's no evidence for this so far, but I'm interested in what you all think say as you're tearing this apart. So, thought?
