  1. game

Okay so this was in a introductory post by, @rosamarine and ppl suggested we move it here as a game so yay! So it's basically would you rather, but Sanderson stuff. One person will post a would you rather, and the next replier will post their choice and why, with another question. It'll be good guys. Okay, I'll start: Would you rather be a roommates with a kandra or a Returned?
  2. Tom was glad that he had a duty now, at least. Because otherwise, he would have spent the day brooding about his old job, and about how the world was sort of like, oh I don't know, ending? But then, he had discovered that he could burn atium. That instantly put him in the position of the village's bodyguard. That was pretty cool. Tom felt a small sense of accomplishment when he fought off the Inquisitor again, and again, and got closer each time to winning. This battle, though... something was wrong. Tom realized that his supply of atium was running out, and that there was no way he could kill the Inquisitor before that happened. And then. He sucked in the mists. Somehow, the mists gave Tom the power to continue and keep on fighting and... more atium? The more he would burn, the more it seemed he had remaining. When the Inquisitor lunged, Tom instinctively found the perfect parry and counterattack. They spun together in the mists, and finally, without quite knowing what was going on, Tom became the mists. Floating in the everywhere and nowhere at once, Tom knew... everything. He saw into the distance and into the far depths of time. More importantly, though, he knew exactly what he needed to do to put the Inquisitor's life to an end. In a deep, booming voice, Tom spoke as the wind in the Inquisitor's ear: "YOU ARE A STICK." "No!" The Inquisitor screamed. "I am the Inquisitor! And these are my spikes!" She waved her spikes menacingly toward the direction of the voice. "YOU ARE A STICK." "YOU ARE A STICK." "YOU ARE A STICK." "YOU ARE A STICK." "YOU ARE A STICK." "YOU ARE A STICK." "YOU ARE A STICK." "YOU ARE A STICK." "YOU ARE A STICK." "YOU ARE A ST-" And just like that, the newly ascended Preservation realized his plan. A chunk of Investiture spontaneously appeared from Roshar, answering the call, and letting Tom harness the powers of Soulcasting. Don't ask me how that would realistically work. It probably wouldn't. But in this hypothetical universe, it somehow happened. The scary, powerful, menacing Inquisitor convinced herself that she was indeed a stick. LG59 is over! Thank you to everyone for playing, and congratulations to the village for their victory. I have so many people to thank. I'll start off with @Coop772 for his help with GMing and @Alvron for being the IM. @Elbereth, @Fifth Scholar, and @Devotary of Spontaneity were invaluable in helping me balance and edit the rules of my first game. @Haelbarde and @Burnt Spaghetti, among others in the Discord, came up with some awesome titles (some of which I used), and @Butt Ad Venture even wrote a writeup for me. In addition to that, every single one of you signed up despite this being an incredibly busy time of the year, and I'm so grateful for all of the people who played or spectated for taking the time to do so. @_Stick_, it was super fun having you in the elim doc. Despite not having converts, it never got lonely in there. @Snipexe, thank you for being lynched Day 1 and tolerating it @Cicada, I hope you enjoyed your first game and that you'll stick around. Now for the fun part: Dead doc https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EPZPG_kSbI4mo57P7OxGxWK0wUcprgyS2igf-LURUCM/edit# Elim doc https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dKK9PHPl3sCRtmQyQpdRvQuctZemTlsC3zwcWnOEBLU/edit# GM spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1knOYaTGMjiT0sA-IPopxXSTn5mV00V3pvrqA5K1SZSw/edit#gid=0 Rules https://docs.google.com/document/d/1laraq97vMiiOxzlt9opQRi6mXJTzfAobBNFo8jEEwAs/edit Alright, I'll post GM thoughts and stuff on how I might change this game in a later post, as I have to get to class. Again, well played everyone!
  3. I am a stick.
  4. Are you a stick?
  5. So that we don't overrun the other thread, here will be the official thread for the church of the stick. I am a stick, you are a stick, we are all a stick.
  6. vines

Okay so I was surfing YouTube a while back watching Vines and Percy Jackson characters as Vines and a whole bunch of random crap, when on an impulse, I decided to look up if anyone had posted some Cosmere Vines. I found this one (which is glorious) And it was amazing. I know nothing about video editing, but I know some of you do! So y'all, the world will be 1600% more awesome if you make these.
  7. Heyo guys! I finally made a 17th shard account! (Finally!!!) Okay, this is really, really random, so be prepared. You guys, do you ever think that maybe Brandon Sanderson was stumped on the stick scene (pun intended)? And so, at 3:00 AM in the morning, with a stroke of pure and amazing genius, he wrote I AM A STICK as a joke and then it became a thing when someone else read it or something? Then somehow it became the most iconic and poetic line in the entire series. You guys we should make a kelek stick poem.
  8. This episode on Ashspren’s Absolutely Not Serious Theories (AANST... good ring to it)… We all see Stick as a possible bit of comic relief during a time period in which we see Shallan discovering more about herself— funny content, but serious Cosmere ideals. However, Stick might be more than it appears. Firstly, it is important to remember what Shai from the Emperor’s Soul said about everything, even inanimate objects: everything views itself as something. With this logic from what I like to call the “Tables Have Feelings Too Lecture,” we can infer that Stick, everyone’s favorite character from Words of Radiance, must view itself as something. Therefore, Stick has its own patterns of thought, and must be able to think for itself. Nobody tells Stick to be a stick, Stick tells itself to be a stick. Thus, when Shallan tries to get Stick to change in Shadesmar, Stick proceeds to tell her what he sees himself as: a stick. Shallan tries to force it to change, telling Stick that it is actually fire, but she does not understand that Stick has made up its mind. But, where does this lead on a larger scale? Well, Stick is actually very helpful, and may have been able to predict the future. We start back at Stick’s signature line: “I am a stick.” It tells this to Shallan repeatedly, as if it wants her to know something. And indeed, it does. Stick wants Shallan to know to stay true to herself. It is very self-aware, and tells Shallan to be the same. However, Shallan stumbles upon Stick, she is not having struggles with her identity yet— this takes place later in Words of Radiance, and is seemingly resolved at the end of Oathbringer. This is where the part about telling the future comes in. Stick is warning her to be more self-aware at the moment, so that in the future, she would not have as many problems. Now, we see at different points in Oathbringer that Odium can see, and provide visions of, possible futures. This is shown through Renarin and his corrupted spren, Glys. Is Stick’s advice for the future and Odium’s abilities just a coincidence? I think not.
  9. I am wondering if anyone has a threshold list of reputation awarded on this site, can you have negative reputation, I'm very new, but have heard of a Zuchini who sounds like he maybe made a lot of people very angry. I am also wondering if you get Reputation by posting things sometimes as well? Or if it's based solely off of other Users Posts. Anyone? Edit: I only just made a connection on how similar Reputation here seems to be similar to Breaths, in that you only get one, and other people have to will it to you. Humorous in my mind, Also. Is Reputation based on what forums you frequent? I.E. Dark Eyes and Skaa are two different realms.
  10. Okay, so I know that you all love your stick, but I'm here with a grave warning. As all of you that have heard of it can probably figure out, my primary fandom is the Warrior Cats one. We had a totally amazing stick character once, one that was owned by a character named Rock. The stick was in a totally canon relationship with a sarcastic blind cat named Jayfeather, and all was well. Then this happened. So what does The Stormlight Archive have in common with Warrior Cats? Well, there's a stick. There's a guy called Rock. And the sarcastic Hoid refers to himself as a blind man. So all I'm saying is, don't take your stick for granted. Something could happen to it. Rock could offend Hoid by calling him an airsick lowlander, causing Hoid to break the stick. If that happens, you want the stick to know how much you loved it, and you want to know that you spent every moment you could with your wonderful, beautiful stick. Beware. The Warrior Cats fandom took our stick for granted, and we've never quite recovered from it.
