Greetings, Sharders and creators! The King of the Kobolds here, speaking from an undisclosed pocket universe. (Don't try to track me. I have more Cerberi standing watch than you could count.) In this post I brought up a potential project for the worldbuilders among us. The project aims to create a functional fantasy setting through collaborative effort, with various members working together to flesh out different regions of a magical world. There are no requirements save a zeal for creation and an active imagination. There are few rules, save for the following: Try to stick to the C.O.P. system whenever possible. For those unaware, "C.O.P." stands for cool, original, and plausible. Obviously plausibility has different meanings for different people where fantasy is concerned, but unless everyone wants to create a deliberately ludicrous Wonderland let's try to be reasonable. (Bear in mind that a deliberately ludicrous Wonderland is not off the table, should everyone want one.) Once regions are available and you have claimed one, please refrain from spreading your creations to adjacent lands without the consent of their claimers. This is just to prevent one person from creating a race of indestructible vampire dragons that take over the world and leave no room for anyone else. Have fun, or else. To join, just state your interest below. Here are a few questions for us to ponder before getting started: Will magic be abundant or rare in this new world? Will the climate and background ecology resemble that of Earth, or will it be entirely different? What kind of biomes do people want access to? I've contacted a cartographer who might be available to help with maps, and I'm sure it'd be helpful to this individual to have an idea of what regions are in the highest demand. The world of Diaemus rises! For the main Diaemus Project thread, see here. Greetings, residents of Diaemus. This is where you can come to select your lands to rule over (and later, where you'll tell me what empires, cities and land features you have in your allotted space). This is the map of Diaemus, as created by Sir Jerric, and up to date as of 1 October 2015. (Coming Soon!) Now, because I have no sense of beauty whatsoever, I decided to scrawl right over the top of what Sir Jerric has done, crudely carving out the sections that people wanted for them. This is the most up to date version of mine. So, if you would like to claim a piece, this is the place to ask.

Welcome everyone, to the general thread about Life on Diaemus! Here you will find a master list of all of the inhabitants of Diaemus, sentient and not, as well as discussion on possible new life forms, various ranges and overlaps between species, and how they interact with the magic system. Even better, it's all conveniently gathered into one place! By way of bookkeeping, the main information thread can be found here, and a discussion of maps and claimed areas can be found here. Sapient Species Non-Sapient Species This is all of the detailed information I could find on various species. As this project grows, I'll separate these out into regional variations, given that we have tundra-dwellers next to steppe-dwellers all mixed up with everything else. But for now, since I don't have enough time for a massive organizational project, here we go. If I've missed one of your creatures, post it's profile here in this thread and I will eventually get it into the OP. I hope that this will become the go-to resource for all of our different species.

As you saw on an earlier sheet, I drew the Scorpi. This is a drawing with in depth analysis on the internal organs of a Scorpi. It is all very much pseudo-biology, as I have absolutely no foundation in it at all. Check out more info on the Scorpi in Creator's Corner, the Diaemus Project.
