  1. So, haven't seen this up anywhere else, but came across this in my recent rereading in WoK and with what's been seen in WoR so far - interesting possibilities are afoot at the Circle K. (Otherwise known as Shadesmar? Is that how Bill and Ted did it?) In Shallan's chapter of WoR, we are given a much better idea/definition of Spren and their relation to the Cognitive realm, and humans than previously: Now, comparing the idea of spren as "living ideas" with this from "Wandersail": Now, Hoid may just be being cryptic here about the way he stole his identity from someone. But there seems to be just a little too much of a correspondence to Shallan and Jasnah's discussion. We know Hoid is intimately involved with and expert at manipulating Shadesmar to travel between worlds. What could this mean for him, if he originated somehow in the Cognitive Realm? This would be an interesting idea (see what I did there? ), as Hoid could then be literally the embodiment of storytelling - which would explain his penchant for being a spreader of knowledge and tales... Ok, all you who are smarter than me in the ways of the Cosmere - Discuss!
  2. Tor just posted this saying it's the endpaper art for WoR. Does this mean that the KR Table and "Voidbinding Stained Glass" are not permanent for all SA books? This is totally beautiful. Kind of wish it was the cover. Tho Action Jackson Kaladin is growing on me. There's a lot of cool Double Eye of the Almighty imagery on her boots and satchel (and you can see a hint of that safe-hand!.. tho it's gloved as well )
  3. Tor.com has released the full Lift interlude! http://www.tor.com/stories/2013/12/words-of-radiance-excerpt-lift edit: sorry didnt see the other post. must be on hawaiian time lol
  4. Hey, I decided that as much as I would like to, I will not have time to read Words of Radiance all in one night. After coming to terms with that idea, and the fact that I would then have to be off the forums for the duration of the read, I decided I would post an alternate solution, and propose it to 17thSharders as well. I think it would really be a great time if a group did the reading "together" over the course of say.... 2 weeks? I don't know, it is flexible, but the idea is that every night, we read 2 or 3 or x chapters, then come on the forums to discuss what we are thinking without moving along. It would really be fun to see peoples end-of-chapter or end-of-part reactions instead of just the thoughts we see when book-long arcs are finally concluded. It would be like watching episodes of your favorite tv show and talking to your friends while you wait for the next episode. PLUS: On a night that you just can not wait, you can read, post your reactions, and then continue reading but not post until the next day. It would take a good amount of self control, but I think it would be worth it for those of us who can't finish it in a night or two anyway. If anyone finds this idea interesting, I'm game for it, just let me know.
