  1. Really wanted to get the First Ideal tattoed in women's script. Seen some translating websites but from what I've heard they are not that trustorthy. Is there any official translation checked by Isaac/Brandon around or some way to check?
  2. Hey all! I’ve had this for a while but I finally went and recreated it digitally! Attached below is an unofficial script/language/alphabet that I created for the singer and listener people + a “user manual” because I made it far more complicated than necessary. I don’t know if we have any evidence of them having written language but I decided to make one regardless, and I wanted to share with you. Enjoy!
  3. In the Lait page of Shallan's sketchbook, at the top there's faded women's script. Images: Has this already been decoded? I can't find anything on the coppermind. If not I'm ready to do so myself
  4. Sequence

    Orders

    From the album: Women's Script

"By decree of Highprince Sebarial, you shall be strung up during the evening Highstorm two days from now."
  5. From the album: Women's Script

"The Blackthorn is Coming!" "To The Shattered Plains!" "All Troops, Fall Back!"
  6. In the Coppermind page for women's script, there doesn't seem to be a character for "c". I looked at some of the translated bits and Navani uses the character for "k" as a substitute for "c". If thats the case, how would words with "ck" work?
  7. From the album: Women's Script

There was no punctuation equivalent for an exclamation point, so this will have to do.
  8. From the album: Women's Script

The words "Hello" and "What?" in the Alethi Women's Script. If you've translated this, and seen the oddity in the word "what", just know that by adding the letters 'h' and 'a' to the end of a word, it indicates a question.
  9. First post on this site, so let me know if I'm breaking any protocol. I've attached all five pages of Navani's notebook, with the original text faded and the transliterated text over the top. It's not a direct transliteration, though, I've also slightly translated it so that it reflects what was probably trying to be conveyed. All capitalization and punctuation—aside from question marks and the starts of sentences—is my own interpretation of what was being said. The scans were taken and edited by me. If you want the original images or blank versions, hit me up and I can email them to you. Some notes: For sentences that end with question marks, there seems to be a precedent that the last word before the question mark has "ha" added to the end of it. For example, the direct transliteration of the question at the end of Raboniel's first section on page 4 (the dagger page) is, "Why give into my enemys hands the means to destroy meha?" This trend is consistent for the three examples present in these pages, and both Navani and Raboniel do it. I'm not sure why this was added, as it seems random to add some cultural inflections and not others. We know, for example, that there are many forms of the word "I" that are only differentiated in text and not in speech. It seems confusing to add in this specific inflection because we have no context for it. (It also almost drove me crazy the first time I came across it while transliterating lol. Couldn't figure out what "meha" was referring to or if I was reading it wrong). Another thing I noticed is that twice between these five pages, the person who wrote out the text used the letters for T and H in the word "the" instead of using the letter for TH. So instead of (like everywhere else in the text) having it read [TH][E] with two letters, it reads [T][H][E] with three letters. This is probably a mistake, but I find it exciting to find little things like that. As far as I know, we don't know where the word "Arnist" comes from. In the notebook, it refers to a strategy for trapping spren in gemstones by drawing out stormlight and creating a pressure differential (side note: I'm so happy we finally know explicitly how they get spren into gemstones!), so that might be referring some sort of artifabrian guild? Also, the difference in Raboniel and Navani's handwriting is a great detail! Once you really get down into the text and looking closely at their strokes, you can really see the difference in how they write. Navani seems to go back over her text with a straightedge and enhance the straight line through her lettering, while Raboniel seems to just go for it without too much care for precision. Makes for great immersion, but is hell on my brain when I'm trying to figure out what she's spelling! If you find any mistakes or have a different way you interpreted the punctuation, let me know! I'm interested in other people's thoughts on transliterating women's script.
  10. From the album: Stormlight Archive Art (Mostly)

So one of my brothers is on a two year mission for my Church and we were just getting his Christmas box ready to send out (because reasons), and another brother suggested that I put women's script on the box to mess with him since he cannot look up the script for reference, lol. So, have fun with that, lol.
  11. I hope I put this in the right forum. OK so I'm having a lot of fun translating on the "secret joke in CtA card" forum and I was wondering if people want to keep translating things like that. Me and my friends have bean learning women's scrip and alethi and thaylen glyphs so I'm looking for opportunities to help me learn. So if anyone wants to, we can post text on this forum and then we can all help translate it. So if you like the idea feel free to help out!
  12. According to one of the creators of the Call to Adventure game, in the Taravangian art, the women's script is taken from known snippets of the Diagram, but there might be a secret joke in them! So, Sharders, translators unite, and find this joke (unless the joke is on us, of course). Here is the comment: And here is the art by Ari Ibarra
  13. My friend Michael made a one handed sign language alphabet for Women's Script!
  14. In Words of Radiance, we find out that for proper nouns like Nohadon that are meant to be symmetrical, the name is spelled symmetrical and then a didactic mark is added to show that the letter is pronounced like and h. For instance, Nohadon would be spelled Nod`adon. I haven't found anywhere on the Coppermind page for women's script or on the major explanation of women's script on the shard that mentions this, and I was wondering if we have any examples of what this looks like.
  15. I actually don't know if this counts as fanart or something, but here are some attempts at the women's script from the vorin nations. Of course it's just transcripted English, but I thought this would be cool. Also, thanks to @Harakeke for the amazing work at deciphering this beautiful script. Has anyone else been practising this writing system and found anything that looks cool? or IDK, just give feedback and share something related if you want!
  16. Greetings! I wanted to post some fun creative projects I did for my DnD group. Myself and the fellows I play with are all involved in a Recovery program and I love Brandon's work for the reflections of recovery I see in them, as well as their awesomeness! So! These are our inspiration tiles! I am an amateur Blacksmith and have begun dabbling in engraving as well. I hope to produce more Cosmere inspired work. They read, "Exprerience, Strength, and Hope" (one word per tile) and then I ethched the symbol of the Bondsmiths on the back of the Hope tile because I love Dalinar's journey and the ideals of the Bondsmiths.
  17. Too fanciful(ha)? Ask Rushu how to keep the mast from ripping off Jasnahs Favorite Touch the gems in the correct combination to release a shock from the front nodes that will incapacitate an attacker Top View Side View Stormpiece Timepiece The ketek in the end is already translated.
  18. I'm working on revamping my women's script primer pages and would like to include some cool sentences for folks to practice their penmanship with. Can anyone compose a ketek that includes every letter in the Alethi alphabet? This includes Th, Sh, and Ch, but not necessarily X, Q, W, or C. The best ketek(s) will be immortalized in the Translation Guide, plus I'll write it out in the women's script for you!

  22. I imagine this as a page from a child's alphabet book :-)
  23. I edited the U to the I, but I am not sure what you mean by some of the other changes. Is this correct?
