  1. I just reached 42 posts! Well, 43 now. Unless you count the way-too-many messages in forum games. So I thought this was the best time to start an AMA! You can ask me anything, and I will try to answer in less than 7.5 million years.
  2. Hello. Some of you know me as John Flamesinger. What people don't know is why I named myself that. The Universe in Flamesinger Theory is simple - kind of. Think of any story. Cosmere, Star Wars, Monty Python, ect., those all happened. Each dimension, as their called, is in one Infinite Universe. The dimensions inhabit the same space, kept separate only by their molecular vibrations. Then there's The Magics. Each source of Magic is Governed by a god like being known as - you guessed it - a Magic. These Magics make up a council which kind of rules the universe. Enter the Gathen. The Gathen were a species that survived the Universal Collapse 13.7 Billion years ago, which is what prompted the creation of this Universe (The Big - Bang) and are the caretakers of the Universe. They are able to 'tap' energy from one of the leading sources of Magic - Light Magic. Enter John Flamesinger, leader of the Gathen at a mere 13,435 Earth Years old (Gathen reach maturity at 23,000). Any questions? Here's the character sheet I would like you to use: Note: I am limiting the amount of Magics that can be RPed. Only 5 at a time. The Magics Light, Dark, and Grey are not RPable. Note 2: Yes, you can use characters that you use elsewhere. Remember, anything that happened anywhere happened here. Any questions? Go ahead. We'll make a planning PM Once enough people say this is something they want to do.
  3. Marvel Cinematic Universe Roleplay? Who's in? I'll need some help to think of a plot, but this should be fun...
  4. Hey guys, I've been thinking a lot about the scale of Adonalsium's power, and the possibility for other, similar beings on a Universal scale. I'm curious if anybody has thoughts, or reasonings that might be relevant to this path of thought. So, we know that it has been stated that all current Cosmere events take place on Shardworlds, typically in different Solar Systems, but in the same Dwarf Galaxy. So if the 16, and Adonalsium by comparison, exhibit their power only within this single galaxy--Would there likely be an analogue to this power in adjacent/distant galaxies within this universe? If not, then what makes this Galaxy so special in the infinities of space to hold the entire Power of Creation within it? This has only been on my mind since after the last time I saw Brandon (SoS signing in Denver), so I haven't had an opportunity to ask directly. I seem to always miss his posting flurries on Reddit too. So I'm very interested to hear/discuss with this community.
  5. As Brandon Sanderson's various societies keep growing, I wonder to myself what will happen when one of them finally reaches the point of space travel. One society is going to get there first and everything is going to change. It will be inevitable that the most advanced race will try to conquer the galaxy and lord over all of the other planets. This would mean the end of the Cosmere as we know it. I'm both terrified and excited by this. The world hoppers are already very disruptive to the flow of the different worlds, causing unexpected turns in their technological evolution and effecting the falls and rises of many different empires, nations, and organizations. Imagine what would happen if a giant space cruiser from Roshar landed on Sel and was all like "Submit or Die" then proceeded to decimate huge areas of populated land from space to prove their authority. Would the Shards all start battling one another? Would the magic systems have strange effects on the other magic systems? What would happen if the people of different worlds started interbreeding? SprenDor anyone? Is this what Hoid is doing? Making sure that the worlds never clash in battle? There are many different theories as to what the "17th Shard" is and does, but I put forth the theory that perhaps it is trying to protect the Cosmere from the folly of the shards. The shards are all acting like little two-year-olds squabbling over who can make the coolest planet and are going to end up causing the collapse of the system. The end of the Cosmere Superseries is going to be very interesting.
