  1. Does any one know which surges use more stormlight and which ones use less? Is an Elsecaller more efficient than a Windrunner or does a Dustbringer use more stormlight than a Lightweaver? How does each surges use of stormlight compare between members of different orders of the same oath level? Does a 3rd Oath Windrunner need more Stormlight than a 3rd Oath Edgedancer?
  2. My question: How did the desolations end? We know that they happened again and again whenever the heralds cracked under torture, allowing the returned to flow back to Roshar. But how did they get the genie back into the bottle? Here are my thoughts on possible ways they ended: 1. The desolation ended whenever one of the heralds died. Jasnah seems to believe this theory, since she proposed that they should seek out the heralds and bump them off to prevent/end the desolation. However, if this is the case, why didn't the heralds just kill each other or commit suicide, rather than subject the very people they swore to protect with the oathpact to genocide? Also, if the heralds dying ended a desolation, then the returned would have no desire to kill them. Odiums forces might try to just incapacitate and not kill them, but I image that would have been difficult, given their honor blades. 2. The desolations ended when all of the returned had been destroyed before they could inhabit another singer body. This could explain why the only desolation we have a lot of details about (the most recent one where the heralds abandoned the oathpact) ended with a huge battle. Fight to kill all of the returned and then the heralds would go back to prevent them from showing up again. However, if this is the case, why wouldn't odium just tell one returned to go hide in some cave somewhere and avoid detection? 3. There was a time limit to the desolations. Perhaps Odium and his forces had a specific time period in which they had to accomplish some kind of goal before they were forced back. That would explain why they might end with a huge battle, if they would be trying to push to accomplish their goals. But then we know that one desolation lasted 11 years, so unless they time constraint changes every desolation, I doubt they would have made that distinction about 11 years if there was a time constraint. Does anyone have any idea about how these came to an end, or know of a WoB about them?
  3. In JordanCon 2018, Isaac Stewart (Dragonsteel's art director) did a panel on creating Stormlight glyphs. We don't have full video for it, but we do have some. We mixed that in with the audio so you can feel like you're there at the panel. If you're into glyphs, maybe this will be of use to you! We apologize for the audio quality and mic bumps that occur every so often. Posted with permission from Dragonsteel Entertainment. Thanks Argent for your intro!
  4. Ok, so this post will discuss Oathbringer, Mistborn, shards, and other things in general. I think this is the right place. I don't want to do anything wrong by omitting any spoilers, so please be patient. I am still figuring things out on this site. I can't get this out of my head, so you my fellow Seventeenth Sharders will have to listen to this verbal vomit. ;p Anyways on to the meat of this topic here. As I am rereading Stormlight and the rest of cosmere stories in general, I have noticed as I am sure many others have as well that Odium is in fact the biggest threat to the Cosmere at large. So how to get rid of this threat? Odium needs to be splintered really good. I don't think that he should be restored and than combined with another shard. It would only be feasible if you combined all of the shards into one again, which I don't know if it is possible. I guess we might have a better idea how two opposing shards combined into one react in the next Mistborn series and we get inside Sazed's head. Is he still Harmony? Have the shards started to conflict with each other? This I feel is important, we need to know this. So how to deal with Odium. I feel there are some key players, Hoid, Kelsier, Jasnah, Shallan, Dalinar, the Ghostbloods, and perhaps the Ire. Hoid needs someone to help him, as I have a sneaking suspicion that is Hoid's quest, stop Odium. He probably has many more secret plots and quests of his own, but I feel this is the main one. We see this in the letter he writes to presumably Frost. So who would Hoid get help from, as the Seventeenth Shard holds a policy of non-intervention, they are virtually useless unless they change their policies. They would be the ideal candidates as they have a wealth of cosmere knowledge at their fingertips. So, I believe that Hoid has to rely on the Rosharans, namely the newly refounded Knights Radiants. After all, Odium is stuck in the Rosharan system for now. Hoid had mentioned Adonalsium briefly to Dalinar and he didn't understand what that meant. However, that doesn't mean he won't further investigate what that is. This is unlikely, but possible. So Jasnah or Shallan, if any were a candidate for Silverlight University, I feel it would be one or both of them. We don't know what Jasnah knows, she has a Herald now, so if she asks the right questions, she may find vital information not only about the Oathpact, but maybe what a shard is and how to splinter it. She also traveled with Hoid for a while after everyone thought that Jasnah was dead, who knows what they talked about. Again, with the right questions... Shallan has basically become a Ghostblood at this point. We know there are world hoppers in the organization, so at some point she is bound to come across important cosmere information as well. I read a post on here about Kelsier being the leader of the Ghostbloods and I can't get it out of my head. We know that Kelsier met with Khriss and Nazh so he certainly knows more now that he has been 'alive' for a very long time. He also witnessed the almost destruction of the shard Preservation. He also held the shard Preservation for a time to give it to Vin, so he was bound to gain even more cosmic awareness while Ascended. He also witnessed the merging of the shards Ruin and Preservation as well. And he 'retrieved' that device from the Ire (what other devices do the Ire have?). Now I'm not saying that just because Kelsier saw all of this, he immediately understood how to destroy a shard or 'heal' it, but he has seen firsthand which is more than most people can say. So, going off the premise that Kelsier is the leader of the Ghostbloods, this whole stop Odium thing is right up his alley. He has a Radiant, Shallan, to help and Shallan has access to other Radiants, i.e. Kaladin, Dalinar, etc. If anyone can destroy a god, it's Kelsier. The Fused are definitely a threat, but if you somehow found a way to kill them tomorrow, you would still have Odium, who is absolutely at this point filled with divine hatred. It has consumed the shard and its vessel, Rayse. So, the Parshendi, who are rightfully angry at the humans, and the humans need to team up, unite against Odium. So in conclusion, I feel that Odium is the biggest threat to the Cosmere at large, I could totally see him trying to turn the Cosmere at large into a dystopian future where everything an everyone looks bleak. We need people from all cosmere worlds to come together and help the Rosharans in this Final Desolation and splinter Odium, destroy Rayse's body once and for all. Only then can the Cosmere be relatively safe.
  5. So we know that Dalinar will eventually have to face Odium's champion, and who that will be is not yet known. But do we know whether Dalinar himself will actually fight? Or rather appoint his own champion? Dalinar is still a capable warrior yes, particularly with stormlight to aid him, but he's getting older now. He may opt to have someone, such as Kaladin, serve as his champion against Odium's. However, Dalinar is a bondsmith and the Stormfather mentions on at least one occasion that he has the most powerful of the surges, so perhaps Dalinar has an advantage there. Even if he were to fight himself, what weapon would he use? He wouldn't have a shardblade, unless that is when the stormfather finally gives in on that matter. Perhaps he could use one of the honorblades? I believe Vyre now has Jezrien's, but if Dalinar could get hold of one of the honorblades then he would have a shard and hopefully new surges to play around with. But still, how will he face his enemy do we think? The nine shadows of Odium's champion sounds dangerously like a reference to the unmade (perhaps somehow fused into the one champion?). So even with a blade and possibly two extra surges, how could he even hope to defeat his enemy? I realise I am not very familiar with the deeper lore of these books, but that's why I'm here asking questions, right? Anyway, I welcome your thoughts.

  7. Hi Sanderfans/Sharders, I will be posting a series of "scrolls" about Moshe Feder, Brandon's Tor editor, on my blog. Moshe was the person who "discovered" Brandon and acquired Brandon's sixth novel Elantris in 2003. In 2005, Elantris became Brandon's first published novel. Moshe has kindly agreed to be interviewed for this series. Here is the first "scroll" in case any of you are interested to check it out: http://shazarose.blogspot.com/2018/08/moshe-man-behind-copper-mind-scroll-1.html This is the first scroll in what is expected to be a multi-short scroll series on Moshe. A future planned "scroll" will document half of Brandon's twin inspiration for including characters like Kaladin, Shallan and Dalinar, who all suffer from various mental health issues, in his Stormlight Archive series. Moshe himself is one half of this inspiration, and I will be documenting Moshe's bout of bipolar that he wants to share in order to help raise awareness about mental health issues. When I asked him if it would be a painful thing for him to share, he had this to say: "Not painful to share. It’s a duty to help fellow sufferers and to work on reducing stigma. When I was Corflu (fanzine fan con) GoH, it was a major part of my speech." Hope you do enjoy the series if you decide to check it out! Warmest Regards Sharon Hooper

    Gem Questions

I have an accumulation of Gem Related questions: We had a conversation a while back about shardworlds going to war, and it was stated that the Roshar forces can fill gems by exposing them to any shard's Perpendicularity, and also that offworld gems would work the same way offworld metals work for scadrians. Is that correct? I cant find any specific WOBs to confirm them. IF so, are they filled with Stormlight, or something entirely different. Assuming for the sake of argument that Voidlight in gems taking more specific steps on Odiums part, if some rando worldhopper took a gemheart to Nalthis would they instead get..I dont know, "Chromat-o-Light" from Endowment's perpendicularity? We know that Stormlight in Gems predates Honor's arrival, so Gems were something that could hold Stormlight back when it was operating on an Adonalsium-era magic. So if there is nothing special about Rosharan gems or about the rosharan Perpendicularities, and Stormlight as a type of Investiture predates Honor and Cultivation, it sounds like stormlight, and maybe even the Surges to some extent, are actually a cosmere-wide magic system from pre-shattering? Other Gem Questions: -Can you Soulcast one gem to another (using Diamond or Topaz), and how does that affect their economic value? -If the color of the gem, rather than the chemical composition, is the important aspect due to the Perceptions of the residents of Roshar, have those associations changed over the long history (they've certainly gained new/different religion associations. -If the Parshendi have a "mikly white, bone colored" Gemheart, is this an 11th Essence? EDIT: New question - If Bones are/were Living enough to only require normal Type III Awakening rather than the 9th Heightening version like for normal Metals/minerals, what about Gemhearts? Or Coal or Pearls for more mundane mineral examples?
  9. Alrighty so this theory does not hold much water but I have not seen it anywhere else and I would like to spark discussion. So we know from a recent wob that Ambition’s Vessel was a Sho Del. I for one had always speculated this was the case as the name seemed atypical compared to most of the vessels who have been name dropped. That said it occurred to me, whilst I reminisced on my hunt for the Sho Del shard or shards, that perhaps Aona and Skai were Sho Del by no other reason than my warped perception of their names and the fact that Rayse wanted them out of the way along with Uli Da. So the theory is that Odium is hunting the Sho Del shards for reasons unknown. I’d love to hear your thoughts and criticisms!

  11. So in Kal's fight with Szeth, we saw that Syl was capable of taking many forms, namely as a sword, spear, dagger, and shield. After reading this I got the impression that a spren can take on the form of essentially any weapon for the radiant. But as I thought about this I began to wonder if it is the same for ranged weapons. I'm sure a spren could take the form of a bow, or crossbow or whatever, but if they did how exactly does it work? Does the spren act as the bow and the arrows? Or simply the bow and you have to use regular arrows? Or could you use a regular bow with your spren acting as the arrows? Obviously, the spren being both is the more useful alternative, but I'm dubious as to whether the spren could actually manage it. Anyway, I hope someone knows more about this and can help me out.
  12. Ok, so here is my idea. A Bondsmith, and an Awakener of the 10th heightening, team up to make the Bondsmith immortal. Here is how the do it: • First, they forge a solid metal man made of steel. (interlocking plates, joints on the arms and legs, opening mouth/eyes. Movable fingers and toes, ect...) • Secondly, the Bondsmith uses spiritual adhesion to bind his soul to the metal man. • Third, the Awakener Awakens the metal man using all of his breath, creating a nightblood esque sentient object, only this one can functionally move, and has the mind and soul of the Bondsmith. • Finally, they sew together a cloak of thin aluminum strands and the metal man puts it on to inhibit his world destroying powers. (though he can take it off to level his enemies) So, what do you guys think? Is there a way to use hemalurgy to give the now Metal Bondsmith the powers of a Fullborn? What awakening commands should be used on this Metal man? Would the metal Bondsmith keep his radiant powers? *EDIT* Ok, so I guess my the only thing that works here is awakening a metal man, and therefore have a walking nightblood.
  13. Because all of the Shards of Adonalsium have their own predesignated Intents, I have come to wonder if Adonalsium itself had an Intent of its own before it was shattered. And I believe that Intent, and therefore the name we can ascribe to the power of Adonalsium, is Unity. First of all, this stems from the nature of the religions on Sel, as shown in Elantris. The two dominant religions on Opelon in conflict with one another are Shu-Korath and Shu-Dereth. The way I see it, Shu-Korath relates closely to the Intent of the Shard of Devotion, and Shu-Dereth relates closely to the Intent of Shard of Dominion. Both were killed and Splintered early on Sel, but they still have a great influence on Sel, not just in the form of seons and skaze, but in the form of religious precepts. And what is it the Korathi and the Derethi are both striving for in the world? Unity. They seek to unite all people, but in different ways. The Korathi preach love, the Derethi preach control. Unity through Devotion. Unity through Dominion. Of course, this could be seen as the effect of people’s interpretations of Intent rather than Shards themselves, so who knows. My second point is a rather weaker one, relating to Scadrial and its Shards. When Ruin and Preservation are combined into one, they for the dual Shard of Harmony. It is a perfect Unity of the two most opposing Intents. If anything, I consider unity and harmony to be synonymous one with another (and so does the thesaurus ). Third of all is in the Stormlight Archive, Honor repeats the same command to Dalinar in each of his visions – Unite them. It almost even seemed a bit out of character to me that the dead Shard seemed to care more about unity on Roshar rather than the honor of mankind. We don’t even know entirely what he means by that phrase, but it is his ever-present plea. Unite them. Whatever it means, Honor desires unity of some sort. And in Oathbringer, it reaches a culmination that seemed to be set up from the start of the series. The previous points could be considered speculation, but this is a real example in the books that works as evidence. The linchpin for this theory is the climactic scene in Oathbringer in which Dalinar swears his third Ideal, opens Honor’s perpendicularity, and is referred to as having Ascended. When Venli asks him who he is, he responds, “I am Unity” before uniting the three Realms. This seems to go along with what Honor’s visions have been saying to him. The interesting part is this: it’s right after he says those words and brings the Realms together that Odium steps back in fear and rage, saying, “No, we killed you! WE KILLED YOU!” Now, why would he say that in direct response to Dalinar calling himself Unity? At around that same time, Dalinar remarks to himself that Odium suddenly seems small compared to him. It seems to me that in that moment, Dalinar somehow took up a bit of Adonalsium when he briefly Ascended and somehow knew it, which was why he referred to himself with the title of “Unity”. There are even moments in the series before and after that scene where he describes feeling a warmth and a light that comes from somewhere beyond, something different from Honor. It makes me think that the voice telling him to “unite them” may not even be Honor’s. And if it is, it seems to bear the touch of Adonalsium. On Roshar, Dalinar is meant to “unite them” to save humankind. On Sel, the religions based off the two Shardic Intents are looking for unity through devotion and dominion. On Scadrial, Sazed has become the unified form of two Shards as Harmony. As shown by these three series, unity seems to be a big driving force in the cosmere, one closely related to some of the Shards and perhaps something beyond even them. Why? Because I think Unity was the Intent of Adonalsium, and that it has left its touch on the Shards even after all the time it was Shattered. So my next big question is – if the ultimate power of the cosmere was the godly embodiment of unification, then why would people want to divide it? But hey, that's just a theory. A Cosmere Theory! Thoughts on this theory as a whole? TL;DR: Adonalsium had the Intent of Unity, with possible evidence given in Elantris, Mistborn and the Stormlight Archive.
  14. First off I have to applaud Sanderson's love for the word ‘maladroitly.’ I can't think of Mistborn without the 'maladroit' word sprinkles. Let's be honest, Sanderson had me at ecological disasters and volcanos. At the height of their heists, banter, and coin shooting, I laughed maniacally at Breeze, registered as a Kelsier-phile, and began throwing coins with attempts at magical martial art skills. Vin hijacked my heart on this one. I came to care about professional thieves and was convinced that occasionally swallowing an earring could end in saving the world. Seriously top marks. This series was defiantly a windfall for me. When my kids start exploring their powers of secrecy, thanks to Kelsier I know now that there is always another secret. Did I just infer that epic fantasy is my choice parenting style? Absolutely. Since Mistborn I have read the Rithmatist, partly because I was waiting to get The Stormlight Series and partly because I like torturing myself with books whose sequels have not been written yet. It was very clever- the splicing up of America into Isles! My kids have no idea why I love chalk drawing with them so much or why I send unicorns to attack the hapless bystanding cat. As a mother of a curious, terribly awesome boy, I did find much to love in the relationship between Joel and his mother. Thoroughly engrossing tale of danger and suspense, just how I like it. Storms, I adore the Oathbringer! Just about done... with a Sanderson novel you spend more time being almost done- they are beautifully thick books! If you could bond a book like a spren, this is the saga I would choose. The lies so laid bare, the lives so contrasted between broken and whole, the depth of the sarcasm- I have found myself in the hundred faces of Shallan, in the sassy quips of Syl, in the need and in the vastly loyal heart of Kal, and in Dalinar's self discovery and soul erosion. I might just qualify for a Sanderson-phile! After this, it's onto the rest of the Cosmere! Count me delighted to read the books of an author who understands the depth of intuition and the landscape of worldbuilding thrust into the colors of godhood and magic. I fully expect that line to attract some glory spren, or some such nonsense. Having listened to Writing Excuses fairly obsessively for many years, it's about time that I picked up the books Sanderson wrote. His thoughts on everything from protagonist to creating magic systems on that podcast, shaped my own writing voice. I am completely crazy to have taken so long to discover that his books are as brilliant as he is! So hello to the others who know what I am going on about. This should be fun! Sincerely, A caustic catalyst, Anomalee Ps. I have taken to calling my daughter Gemma, 'Gemheart.'

  16. We saw when Dalinar bonded the Stormfather that he would not have a shard blade. I wonder whether this is the case for all Bondsmiths, and whether it applies to shardplate as well. Presumably a bondsmith could still wear shardplate without any issues. Also, I always got the impression that the Stormfather refused to be his blade out of pride, is there anything actually stopping the Stormfather from becoming his shardblade? Presumably, if Dalinar could be persuasive enough then the Stormfather may be convinced to become his blade. Feel free to correct me wherever I may be wrong. I welcome your input.
  17. My question has to do with how the use of stormlight is supposed to restore the physical aspect of the Radient back to the way their spiritual aspect views itself. I have this weird thing where I don't really remember what people look like until I see them again (it's not face blindness), and it applies to me as well. When I'm not looking in the mirror, I have a lot of trouble remembering what I look like when I'm not staring at myself in the mirror. As a result, my mental image of myself is like a larger version of the way I looked when I was a child. So, if I or someone like me formed a nahel bond and gained the ability to draw in stormlight to heal, do you think they would be restored to their mental image of themselves rather than how they look physically? Does such a strong mental imprint count as being part of the spiritual aspect of a person? What if the Radient had never looked into a mirror or suitably reflective surface; would their spiritual aspect of themselves be closer to the way they see themselves or the way they're actually put together?
  18. What are some characters in the cosmere that at first you really didn't care for but throughout time or rereading gained an appreciation or love for? Mine in order are Hrathen Spook And elena venture. Its amazing how through a characters development, only minor things may change but nowhere near to the extent of changing who the are but such small things can drastically change prospective on their entire role kn the universe. Hrathen is the best example uncompromising faith
  19. Would a feruchemist (either a soulbearer or full feruchemist) who had ended up in Roshar and bonded a spren to become a radiant, then be able to store stormlight into a nicrosilmind? That is, would they be able to store stormlight in a nicrosilmind and use that rather than carry spheres or gemstones around with them everywhere they went? Is a nicrosil mind capable of doing this or would it simply store the ability to use stormlight, not the stormlight itself?
  20. From the album: The Knight Radiant

My previous image was an unmade. But it's summer now and I was in the mood for something, a bit more sexy ^^ This my interpretation of Shalash or Ash, Herald of beauty. I've tryed to reveal just the right amount of skin and kept the white hair from the promotional image.
  21. How exactly does one steal the investiture of a radiant using hemalurgy? I would assume an atium spike is needed since atium is supposed to be able to steal any attribute, but when you steal their investiture do you force the spren to bond to you via the spike or do you simply take their ability to use stormlight without the spren?
  22. Alright I don't know if I missed something or what but I've been left really confused since I read Oathbringer the first time. So its been stated that first the heralds received their powers through the oathpact with the almighty, which happens after humans switch from odium to almighty and spren learned from that how to form the nahel bonds that allowed people to become radiant and surgebind. According to the Eila Stele in chapter 111 in OB the radiants who at the time were of odium and therefore couldn't bond to spren (b/c pre oathpact) somehow destroyed their world and came to roshar and took it over? I feel like I'm missing something because it hasn't been brought up anywhere I can see despite being a major plothole.
  23. DISCLAIMER: While I don't think this argument is definitive by any means, I do think the case for "Trell-as-Cultivation" is just as strong as "Trell-as-Autonomy," perhaps stronger. It sounds nutty, but honestly I think that's because people here are assuming we know a lot more about Autonomy than we actually do. I'll explain: I'm going to start with what I think is the strongest point in favor of Trell being Cultivation: the weird Hemalurgic properties of the godmetal trellium. This may seem like digression, but I promise you this is going somewhere. Trellium acts like no metal we've ever seen. From the Coppermind: That's pretty strange, isn't it? Trellium is the only metal we know of that affects kandra like that. I know there are technically the human quality-stealing metals that grant the Blessings, but this is clearly a blessing of a totally different variety. Trellium seems to work a lot like atium, in that it can steal any Allomantic/Feruchemical ability, but it only seems to do that with kandra. But what about the chimeras from Shadows of Self? Again, from the Coppermind: Another trellium anomaly! Again, we see this godmetal acting weird. What other Hemalurgic construct even approaches this level of sheer inhumanity? All the other constructs we know of are warped from the human baseline, yes, but they remain human or humanoid in some way. Steel Inquisitors are basically artificial Mistborn. Koloss are extremely buff, extremely dumb humans with a skin condition. The kandra aren't human, but Hemalurgy turns them from mindless blobs of mush into sentient beings, so you could argue that the Blessings increase their "human-ness." But with chimeras, one trellium spike gives them some unknown quality, while warping their bodies and minds into something animalistic. Almost like koloss. Only instead of being given a human quality like strength, they were given an animal quality that twisted them into wild beasts. But how to we square this with the other Hemalurgic property of trellium, giving Metallic Arts abilities to kandra? Simple: THEORY: Hemalurgic trellium is a "universal spike" like atium, but with restrictions. It can transfer any strait or ability, but only between humans and non-humans. Meaning that a trellium spike only transfers qualities if either the spike's victim or recipient is not human. They work human-to-nonhuman, or nonhuman-to-human. This is the only way I can think of to square the two abilities of trellium that we know of. (As an aside, it also ties into a theory I'm working on about Hemalurgic godmetals, but I don't even know if I still take my own side on that one yet.) Now, if we assume that my theory on trellium is correct, we have an interesting corollary on this godmetal: its powers within the Metallic Arts, from what we've seen, appear to be deeply tied to interactions between humans, the natural world, and the interplay between them. The connection between trellium's properties and the Intent of Cultivation seems pretty clear to me. We also know from the text that Trell's agents appear to be deeply concerned with order, micromanaging affairs, and long-term planning. All of this fits very well with Cultivation's Intent. Given that we also know that a Shard's Intent affects how well they can predict the future, and that Cultivation is reportedly very, very good at predicting the future, we have a Shard interfering on Scadrial who shares a suspiciously similar MO with Cultivation. MY THEORY: Cultivation is attempting to partially invest herself on Scadrial as a backup plan in case greater Roshar falls to Odium. It's probably safe to assume at this point that Odium's hatred of Cultivation has gotten personal, and Cultivation knows that if things go wrong, she's going to be the next Shard he comes after. So she's investing herself on Scadrial, using it as a "Shardic lifeboat" of sorts to ensure that she can't be trapped on Roshar/Ashyn and Splintered like Tanavast. This growing influence manifests itself as the new godmetal "trellium," whose known Hemalurgic properties seem to fit thematically with her Intent. The only real counter-argument I can think of is that Cultivation seems pretty pre-occupied on Roshar, what with the Last Desolation and all. But is that really an argument, or is it just an assumption based on what little we've seen so far? Odium is trapped by the Oathpact, not Cultivation. She may be heavily invested, but as Autonomy shows being invested on a world is no barrier to sowing Investiture other places like a Shardic Johnny Appleseed. Is this a stretch? Maybe. Am I missing something? Quite possibly, yes. But I still think this Trell-as-Cultivation theory is worth considering, if for no other reason than that it helps us look at the question with new eyes.
  24. I am currently reading a few books on medicine and it keeps bringing up the effect of the environment on unborn children. That got me thinking, would the stormlight in a radiant effect an unborn child they were pregnant with? Would it make the child different in some way? Would it be easier for the child to bond spren? My theory is that the child's sDNA would be altered in some way and they might be able to bond spren easier or have abilities similar to a horneater. It might also give them abilities similar to Lift or a first or second Oath radiant because they were born heavily invested. Also, if a pregnant woman said an Oath, would that oath and strengthening of the nahel bond extend to the child. I think that it would have to have some sort of protective effect on the child. I am saying this based mainly on the physical effects of some of the surges. What if you have a pregnant Windrunner? I would think that flight (or if you prefer: Upwards falling) might have a detrimental effect on the child. Hitting 2 or more G's of acceleration is going to have a very bad effect on a child who cannot use stormlight and who does not have the associated durability. I'd like to hear all your thoughts on the issue.
