  1. I was bored and looking at fanart the other day. I found someone's art of the stormlight gang (Kaladin, Shallan, Adolin, Renarin) as high school students. I looked around but nobody has written anything. Horrible, I know. Let's remedy this. Post plot ideas, conversions of things/weapons/creatures to modern times, anything interesting here. Also, if you do write something, post it here or at least give us a link.
  2. About 2 or 3 years ago now I had the pleasure of being invited to a sandbox self-insert game set in the Song of ice and fire world. It was ran for me and a few other people but we were all doing stuff solo so it was mostly a solo game. It was great. I took over a city, had an apprentice I was teaching, was meeting diplomats from other city states. Great game. The game ended when the GM got busy IRL and couldn't dedicate enough time to the game. Now, having really gotten into literally everything by Sanderson, I hope to try this again but this time in the cosmere. I am looking to play in or to GM a solo game for someone based in the cosmere. I'm open to discussing exactly where we start, what we start with and so on. Id prefer to start us off on Roshar (due to the larger amount of material avaliable to work with both if I'm a player or a GM) but world hopping will be gotten to eventually I think. In terms of my GMing skill, I'll try my best and will take feedback, but I don't consider myself to be the best GM to have ever lived so no promises :-) Please let me know if you're interested in playing or (dare I hope) running this (or potentially both). If any additional information is needed, similarly don't be afraid to ask.
  3. Y'all might remember @Harakeke's thread from a while back about glyph translation. I decided I will try and translate the Radiant, Surge, and Fundamental Glyphs. Yes, I know the WoB about the original glyphs not being supposed to translate. Yes, I realize it'll probably be nonsense. Here goes. Notes: I am using an online editor called Photopea. It is free and works the same, and as well as photoshop. I know this because I have worked with photoshop. I am retrieving glyph translations from the Coppermind. Any and all assistance with this project is appreciated. Update 1: 3-19-19 Started translation on ten fundamental glyphs. Finished with 3/10. Letters in parenthesis are unconfirmed or not existing but added for understanding (Like Thaylen)
  4. I was examining the diagram of Orders of Knights Radiant. And I realized the lines connecting orders have 2 more lines than I ever noticed before. Each Order has a line connecting it to the Orders on either side (the ones it shares Surges with) and also a line connecting it to the Order exactly opposite it. Those didn't surprise me, but today I noticed that there are 2 extra lines, each connecting 2 Orders that otherwise would not be. On the right there is an extra line connecting Windrunners and Edgedancers, and on the left the line connects Lightweavers and Stonewards. Does anyone have any knowledge of why there are these extra connections? Windrunners bond Honorspren and Edgedancers bond Cultivationspren, so that does make some sense that they have an extra connection. Lightweavers and Stonewards are across from them symmetrically, but aside from that I'm not sure what reason they could be connected. I tried searching around the forums and the coppermind, but I haven't found any verified reasons for this. Any ideas?
  5. Created based on discussion on other thread. Does Shallan have her plate yet, and has she had it at any points in the past?
  6. I read Warbreaker, but it seems a lot of time has passed since then. Vivenna is a very different person (the obvious part being that she can fight hecka good). Do we have any information on why?
  7. From the album: Stormlight Landscapes

Another painting inspired by the descriptions from Oathbringer. There are three cremlings hiding below the surface.
  8. From the album: Stormlight Landscapes

My sea scape of the Reshi Isles. One of these islands is not like the others . . .

  10. From the album: Fanart

Another version of my picture of Szeth with some fancy stormlight and Nightblood effects.
  11. From the album: Fanart

I had this piece in my mind for far too long and I'm so happy I finally came around drawing it!
  12. From the album: Stormlight Archive Cosplay

I know it's February, and these are a little late, but here are some pictures of what I dressed up as for Halloween. If you can't tell, the one in white is Szeth. Many people thought I was a Nun of some sort, and that the Parshendi were burn victims.
  13. From the album: Vianki's Fanart scenes

Cold places intrigue me and the Frostlands are no exception. While they might span quite an area and include some slightly warmer areas with the ability to grow stunted rockbubs, they do have some decent mountains as well. What can I say. We're snowed in here in Seattle and I was inspired.

  14. In the very beginning of WoK and other times, it is proven that honorblades require 10 heartbeats to summon. Since they aren't dead spren that need connection to the (physical realm, i think), why would they require heartbeats?

  16. So, if I am correct (though I am probably not) there are fabrials that can change the direction of gravity on an object. If they can "bind" an object several times in one direction, then it could move extremeley fast. My Idea being to bind a bullet down a rifled barrel, fast enough to make it spin stabilize. This seems like it would be an excellent device for warfare and hunting things like whitespines wnd greatshells (with fabrial cannons in the last case). Adding a feed system would instantley make a weapon powered this way fully automatic as long as the fabrial is turned up. Of course all of this relies on a fabrial that can change and multiply gravitation on other objects. I would be curious of the ideas of others upon this subject. If anyone has any ideas about other forms of fabrial weapon (like using a spanreed as a tactical pen) I would also be happy to hear them.
  17. From the album: Stormlight Archive Fanart

A quick before-homework sketch of Pattern in the Palanaeum. Lopsided and disproportionate because of too small of a time window for creation, I hope everyone takes it to be "abstract".
  18. Jasnah and Ivory from Oathbringer! Out of curiosity, would there be people interested in buying prints of my Cosmere art? I'm considering opening a print shop or doing a kickstarter to get prints done before the Holiday season. Let me know what you think!
  19. Shardblades are sprens that "died" after their... wielders?... companions broke their oath. Now, biochromatic breath can awaken anything which had been alive bot no longer is (ignore for now the steel awakening). I get that "sprens never really die", as Syl said, but would that state allow an awakener to invest them with breath? I think that they may not come "back" to life (I love this universe complexity, but technicalities are getting annoying), but maybe they would answer to some specific commands? Like the radiant's spren shapeshifting? (Kinda like "adopt the form of a pole axe" and then it changes). Thoughts?
  20. Okay so let me explain... I was super bored yesterday, so I ended up doing this... You know how Brandon puts up those little percent bars on his website? I'm keeping track of those with the graph paper, and the spots around it will fill with stuff~ the title, cover, the pdf Brandon gives out with viewpoint and interlude characters laid out, etc.~ I might post again, in a few months, as it will inevitably fill slowly, but surely. (Also, I realized that the word Stormlight has 10 letters, so I colored the first 3 letter the color of the first three books, and will fill in number 4 once it's out. )
  21. Does anyone know if it's possible to power surges with breath?
  22. Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination. Wayne before Wax. Did I do it right?
  23. I was wandering (and forgive me if anyone ever asked this) if Voidspren can manifest as Shardblades?
