  1. I was doing some research about different Surges the other day, and when I read about the surge of stone shaping, I started wondering about it. Specifically, when a Willshaper or a Stoneward uses their Stormlight to shape a stone, does it become like clay and they have to mold it? Or (this would be way cooler) would they be able to sort of command it with their mind so they don't have to actually dig tunnels through rock, etc. I may simply have this question because I missed a part in the descriptions in both the book and the info pages. But if the latter is tue for Willshapers and Stonewards, it would be wicked cool!
  2. I know there is already a thread on the Mistborn Movie cast, but I didn’t see one on the Stormlight Archive. This is where we can speculate on the cast of the Stormlight Archive Movie.
  3. So, I hope people don’t hate me for this but there are obvious connections between the knights radiant and the LDS priesthood. Brandon is a member of the LDS church as well, so is that connection known? Thoughts?
  4. So, I’ve been re-reading WoR (for the...7th time, maybe? I’ve lost count...) and one of the things that stood out to me was Shallan’s flashbacks. Now, I know there’s a lot of hate for Shallan out there, but I actually really like her and her flashbacks especially. I was wondering what you guys thought about the WoR flashbacks. Now, some ground rules: (because of the aforementioned Shallan-haters) Be respectful. If you don’t like her, fine, but be kind, please. This isn’t a breakdown of “this is why I hate Shallan in book so-and-so” I’m specifically talking about the chapters in WoR about her past. All opinions are welcome, but again, be nice I’m excited to hear what you guys think!
  5. A lot of the Essences have overlap based on how you interpret their descriptions and what state of matter something is in. If someone were to Soulcast something into ice, would that be Lucentia because ice is a crystal or Blood because ice is water? Would steam be Zephyr for transparent gas or Blood for non-oil liquid? Would bone be Sinew for its organic, animal-sourced nature, Talus for stone, or would you need both to create an accurate bone? Do metallic ores without pure metal in them count as Talus or Foil? Would bacterial matter count as Pulp or Sinew? What about viruses? Would plasma be under Spark or under one of Zephyr or Vapor? Could you create any non-oil substance that can possibly be liquid by Soulcasting something with a garnet? If you can Soulcast something into something hotter, like fire, can you Soulcast into something colder, electrically charged, at non-ambient pressure, or even moving? I'm aware the answer, if a certain answer for it even exists, is probably "blah blah perception blah blah" but I still wonder. Could it be that either of the possible Essences would count, or is there something that would tell you for sure? Requiring specific gemstones that correspond with the Essences makes a lot more sense for the much more limited Soulcaster fabrials than it does Surgebinders.

  7. I saw a post with a trailer idea for Mistborn, and I thought of one for WoK. Hope it's not too bad. *camera pans around the Shattered plains, probably from the sky.* The screen goes black, and a voice says; "I long for the days before the last desolation." A shot of the Assassin in White, leaping onto the wall of the palace in the prologue. "Before the Heralds abandoned us and the Knights Radiant turned against us." A shot of a battle on the Shattered Plains. When there was still magic in Roshar and honor in the hearts of men." Shallan falls into Shadesmar. Kaladin carrying the bridge. A stormwall. Darkness. Then someone (take your pick) sucks in Stormlight. from a sphere in their hand, and wherever they're standing goes dark. The screen reads, Life before Death. Kaladin flying through the chasms. Strength before Weakness. A shot of the battle at the Tower. Journey before Destination. The Knights Radiant must rise again. Movie title.
  8. If you could have the ability to burn one Allomantic metal and control over one surge, what would they be and what would the name of your new Misting/Radiant hybrid be?
  9. There’s a theory that I’ve seen a couple of times, which is that Siah Aimians are somehow descended from honorspren. Let’s look at the similarities between Syl and Axies The Collector (the only Siah Aimian we’ve seen) They are both a blue white color. They can both change their form (though in different ways) at will. They both don’t seem to believe they can die, and physical harm is either (for Syl) pretty much nonexistent and (for Axies) it either doesn’t affect him as much, or he just doesn’t really care. (it was thought spren couldn’t die until that RoW “today we have found out how to kill spren” scene). Axies casts a shadow the wrong way (stems from a connection to the Cognitive Realm, where spren live) Brandon has said that Siah Aimians are “extremely long-lived”, like spren, which are effectively immortal. I think that’s all (so far) that we know. Tell me what you think!!
  10. So I was going through this forum and instantly ran out of stuff to do. As you can imagine, I was a little ticked off, so I decided to make a thing. Hopefully it doesn't go to crap in an instant. It's like a lot of those stories; the one's where someone posts a sentence, and then the next person posts the next sentence, and so on. Everyone's played it before. "The Longest Thread (Misadventures)" is probably the best example of this. I decided to go a little niche, however, and we're confined to two main characters as of right now. These two characters-- the Knight Radiant and the Mistborn-- are dueling each other for the sixteen shards they've managed to capture and enslave. Our job is to narrate what tactics and attacks they use against the other. Here're the rules: 1. You must remain within the general rules of the Sanderson's series's. The Mistborn can run out of metals, the Radiant can run out of stormlight, and neither of them can summon black holes by snapping the spirit web and burn out the cosmere. Y'know, basic stuff like that. 2. You can only narrate one character at a time. When you narrate that character, you can give them 1 action and 1 bit of dialogue. For example: "The Mistborn burns tin. 'Prepare to die, Radiant!'" If the Mistborn burns atium, though, then the next person to post something must say what the Mistborn sees. 3. No killing the Radiant or the Mistborn! If someone breaks this rule and kills one off, then do yourself a solid and bring them back to life with a free action. 4. If you want to have another character from another series join the fray (they have to be from the cosmere, and can't be any character in particular; just an embodiment of the magic system, like a ReForger, but not Shai), then notify me. 5. We're assuming the Mistborn begins with all their metals, and the Radiant can do basically any surge and is full on stormlight. 6. Ping me if you have any questions or would like to suggest a rule change. I'll start, breaking my own rules and narrating them both: The Mistborn burns tin. "Prepare to die, Radiant." The Radiant casts a half lashing and levitates. "The only one dying here is you."

  12. Ok so the wax and Wayne series takes place after the timeskip right? at the end of Banda of mourning a “faceless immortal” with “softly glowing red eyes” appears that works with the set which to me sounds like possibly one of the mavset-im especially with its apparent disregard for its own life whcih seems even beyond a kandra, and that normal kandra lack glowing eyes. It also seems like taravangian as odium will be taking a great deal of interest in the wider cosmere and wants dalinar as his champion to affect it. on top of this the set is 110% odiums style they seem very similar to the diagram in a lot of ways. additionally Scadrial is a very easy target for odium like very very easy. Because the difference in caliber between troops and generals and everything is so vast it’s not even funny. Why it’s an easy target- 1. have no supply lines: you can’t cut them off, you can’t starve them, you can’t do anything to this, Scadrial needs to transport food and materials vast distances and if the rosharans seize the trains game over. this advantage is worth more than any other 2. Radiants: the power level between a radiant and nearly any thing Scadrial can deploy is nearly insurmountable. Only a twin born could hope to match one of the more advanced radiants and depending on who was the twin born and who was the radiant since its possibles fifth ideal radiant with enough skill potentially szeth or kaladin at the fifth ideal would be able to beat a full born who wasn’t particularly adept with their powers or was overconfident. additionally radiants are far more useful to an army then metalborn, the ability to fly with allows them to scout better, their ability to make instant fortifications using soul casting and stonewards or willshapers, the ability to heal people and fool the enemy with illusions are all insanely useful powers and we haven’t even seen what dustbringers can do but based on what we know they are probably just straight up tanks as in shardplate plus massive destruction=literal tank 3. experience: the troops on roshar are probably the most experienced, disciplined mortal troops we have seen in the entire cosmere. They have advanced tactics, troops who are disciplined enough to face down the what they believe are demons and not retreat. 4. shardbearers- the greatest warrior in scadriels known history has the feats equivalent of a skilled shardbearer 5. generals- Scadrial has no generals in fact I’d doubt it even has proper tactics detailed anywhere at least in the areas we know well because there hasn’t been a war in 300 years and nobody knows how to fight one. 6. aluminum- we know that soulcasters can create aluminum which means that they have the easiest acess to aluminum out of any world we have seen. Another important thing that provides another very good reason to attack Scadrial before anywhere else 1. the advantage in terms of commanders and experience disciplined troops will not last long, if they get a good taste of war they could with their tech become a legitimate threat to roshar so it’s prudent to take them out as early as possible. 2. guns: while many people will argue that guns are a reason Scadrial is dangerous and a tougher target then I may be making it out to be, you are only kinda right, because here’s the thing guns are exactly why roshar should attack Scadrial. guns are essentially the only advantage Scadrial has in terms of the military against other cosmere worlds especially roshar. metalborn are simply not numerous or dangerous enough to be a reliable source of military might rn and on top of that largely their powers are fairly useless unless deployed on a truly massive scale are nowhere near as helpful as the powers of radiants on the battlefield. So guns, if roshar attacks Scadrial and honestly they wouldn’t even need to invade they would just have to get to the planet kidnap some gunsmiths, engineers, scientists etc and grab a few crates of guns maybe a train car full and suddenly the pure insanity begins, if they managed to get ranette or aluminum guns they would be unstoppable. Imagine a group of edgedancer and a bondsmith working around the clock to soulcast perfect high quality aluminum gun components and suddenly the whole rosharan army is armed to the teeth and now there is 0 advantage to Scadrial and roshar is free to role over the cosmere. Basically- Scadrial is a very easy target for roshar rn but won’t remain so for long on top of maybe wanting to deal with the ghost bloods if they manage to get access to guns they will be the most dangerous army in the cosmere by far. If they even say idk kidnapped metalborn and bred them or used hemalurgy and had acess to three magic systems it would be insane. also the set is very similar to the diagram which makes me think taravangian may be responsible.
  13. So I am listening to the newest Shardcast, and as usual I came up with a new theory. The latest Shardcast is discussing Ba-Ado-Mishram, and as they were spitballing some things I have come up with a hot take on the origins of this most mysterious Unmade. So there is some mention in Oathbringer/WoR epigraphs (I believe the Hessi's Mythica sequence) that Ba-Ado-Mishram was "A Highprincess of the enemy forces" and this seems to imply that she was some kind of mortal. Of course, this is in-book research so there can be all kinds of Recreance shenanigans. Later, in RoW, Kalak references a character called Mishram, with a certain amount of familiarity. Also, there is one point in RoW part 2 (maybe, don't have the book on me right now but it's the scene where the Fused and Venli are invading Urithiru) where Rabonial swears by "Ado," which as one Shardcaster pointed out is the first part of the Alethi glyph for light- and also similar to Adonalsium. In addition, and I'm not sure this is relevant, Chaos keeps pointing out that there are not one, but two hyphens in Ba-Ado-Mishram's name, which is unique among the Unmade. Ba-Ado-Mishram has some kind of Connection to the Parsh, Spren, and Roshar as a whole, which is unusual since Adhesion (the Surge of Connection) is called "Honor's purest Surge." My theory: Ado, the entity that Rabonial refers to, is the Spren of Lights (as in the physical representation of Investiture on Roshar), a being on a level with the Stormfather and the Nightwatcher. Mishram, the person that Kalak refers to, was once a mortal Singer who eventually bonded (in a Bondsmith-like process) with Ado, and then was corrupted/Unmade somehow by Odium, leading to the entity that modern Rosharans refer to as Ba-Ado-Mishram. The "Ba" in this case would mean something along the lines of "both" or "together." Let me know what ya'll think! I'm pretty new to theory crafting and I'd love to hear any thoughts you guys have on my style.
  14. I've recently finished the Stormlight series and have been wondering about some interactions Stormlight could have with Feruchemy. Could a Feruchemist theoretically use an unkeyed metalmind as a perfect battery for Stormight? This could circumvent some of the issues with using gems as storage for Stormlight much more efficiently than perfectly cut gemstones and could even enhance Feruchemical and Allomantic abilities with the extra Investiture as has been seen with individuals like the Lord Ruler using the extra Investiture of Allomancy to enhance Feruchemy, possibly creating an extremely powerful multiple use source of Investiture. I'm sure I'm not the first person to have thought of this so I'd like to hear from the more experienced readers on this forum.
  15. From the album: Stormlight Fanart

There's that one scene in WoR where Shallan finds a place brimming with life, and she stops to draw. I just couldn't get that scene out of my head! LIFESPREN! Yes, I know I haven't drawn what could even closely be considered Rosharan flora...
  16. So this is something I wanted to try for a while. It's something that I was considering a few months back and wanted to see what people's opinions would be. The basic concept is What if? What if Vin was born on Roshar? What if Szeth had become an inquisitor? What if bridge 4 had been in the Skaa rebellion? What roles would certain characters born on different worlds encompass? Might have been done before but thought it would be interesting. It's a general discussion, but I was also imagining what if the Cosmere was a TGC game (or more like gacha nowadays if you play FEH or literally any other gacha) where you get variants of characters. I'll start things off be reimagining Kelsier's crew and Wax's deputies as Radiants on Roshar and what roles they would fill. Mistborn Radiant Windrunner Vin Feel as if this would be the most natural fit though did consider Edgedancer. The whole protecting thing is within Vin's character but it would have to be tempered somewhat (looks at the attack on Keep Hastings or Blowing up Kredik Shaw, plus those Inquisitors) Skybreaker Kelsier Come on though. What else is Kel gonna be. The law, in many people's eye's, is often up for interpretation and giving Kelsier the ability to destroy lighteye's legally? (Or somewhat anyway) Makes sense to me but please feel free to discuss this one. Bondsmith Elend Spook couldn't have said it better "He's just a dreamer caught up in a world with too much violence" He would definitely be a Bondsmith, especially seeing as he is always trying to improve, right to the end. Elsecaller Sazed Honestly this one was hard to call (heh) so if you disagree please write something more appropriate for Sazed. But seeing as they are the most Scholarly order I figured this fit Sazed to a tee. Not much else to say here but seeing as the orders are apparently made up of "broken people" (according to Syl anyway, also in my experience everyone is broken somehow it's about how you deal with that is important) this might have been good for Sazed post Tindwyl. Truthwatcher Breeze Not gonna explain reasoning behind this one for very long, though he would probably find healing people to be too much work and delegate to others. Stoneward Hammond Again not gonna explain this one. I genuinely can't think of another order that Ham would be suited to. Willshaper Clubs Had a hard time on this one, until I noticed their disposition to art and though Clubs is curmudgeonly in his heart lies an artist. Though if someone were to say that he would probably say he wasn't an tell you to storm off. With a slight smile on his face. Edgedancer Spook This one was tricky, because I want to give Spook the benefit of the doubt and make him a Windrunner but his work in Urteau (which was basically ignored by many) makes him out to be more an Edgedancer than anything else. Remembering the fallen and the ignored would probably hit home with Spook given his feelings of being ignored. Dustbringer Dockson Dockson did change towards the end of WOA but that backstory and the little he cares for nobles influenced this decision. Though in fairness he would probably be less destructive and more careful with his surgebinding. Lightweaver Tindwyl Not a great fit for Tindwyl in fact I'd be more tempted to put her in with Sazed, but she is a skilled teacher and, supposedly, writer so I feel this one goes well with her. Truthwatcher Allrianne Seems like a good fit, if the Truthwatchers had squires most likely this is where she would end up, Rsyhadium Tensoon Threw this one in for fun. Skybreaker Wax Because Wax is just a bloody badass, he wouldn't really fit another order, maybe Windrunner but given his proffesion..... Lightweaver Wayne I disagree with Wayne being an Edgedancer. Seems to me, barring his abysmal drawing talent, he would fit this order better. What with the disguises and all. Truthwatcher Marasi At the heart of Marasi is a person who wants to help more than harm (which is slightly ironic given her parentage). She may fit better as an Elsecaller or maybe Skybreaker, but where Wax acts she watches, perceptive and strong. Stoneward MeLaan Hmmm well actually I would say that MeLaan (or any Kandra) could be part of any order so who knows. Windrunner Steris She'd have so much fun. Completely inappropriate though. And that's it for now. Feel free to speculate/ come up with your own variants. Talk about mine or come up with your own. Cheers folks. Happy Friday.
  17. Here are a set of axehound breeds I drew, let me know what you think. I have a few headcanons about these if you want to learn more about them just ask me which one.
  18. Here it is. My Stormlight FanFic: Obligations. The plot revolves around a single event: A Shardbearer being killed accidentally, with the killer not knowing of the blade's existence. Disclaimers: It's not finished (currently I estimate it is 3/4 done) It's pretty lengthy (53 pages on google docs, 21,000 words at the moment) I fully do not expect anyone to read the whole thing- or even to read it at all - but if you have lots and lots of free time then by all means do. I would like any response: good things, typos, criticism- anything that helps it be better. Link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kHwb8RHV6NjoOQPptux-InxoVpnjn2ouYOUu_MHu1Ss/edit?usp=sharing Character overview for anyone interested: (Spoilered for the sake of the length of the post) Additional Notes:
  19. In the Stormlight Archive, Death Rattles are a big part of the Diagram's "telling the future" thing. I've noticed a lot of people trying to interpret what they mean, but they're scattered around, and hard to find. So this is dedicated to searching for and interpreting the Death Rattles that appear so often in the books. You can look at the ones at the start of the chapters, but there are also many in the chapters themselves, like when Maps dies on a bridge run in TWoK. Anyways, I hope you can find some good ones! ........... I basically just sent you on an Easter egg hunt for words spoken in dying delirium.
  20. I am posting this work here in this forum first, before I post it at Spacebattles. I would like some feedback, not on spelling, punctuation, or grammar (I have other proofreaders for that), but rather potential Cosmere related characterization and lore issues, and general plot, setting, and description. (I plan to deviate from certain explicit cosmological elements as revealed in Rhythm of War, but only because I started defining the details of the crossover shortly before the publication of Oathbringer, and the deviations from canon now are what make the crossover work. Nevertheless I wish to avoid inadvertent deviations from cosmological canon.) This is, as said, a crossover with RWBY. If you are lost as to the other side of this crossover, you can look here and here to fortify your understanding. So, without further ado, here is the first chapter Disclaimer: The Stormlight Archive, the greater Cosmere multiverse, and all related persons, places, creatures, and concepts, are the creation of Brandon Sanderson and Copyright him and Tor Books. Life Before Death Chapter One “And these are the new and improved Dust enhancement processors. The patent came through last week! They can handle anything from standard Size Three crystals to thirty-micron grade clear powder!” The designated tour guide was positively gushing, pointing at the conveyor belt bringing in raw material: crystals and powder clear as pure water segregated by grades in discrete lanes. These things went into something that looked a little like a sandwich oven, but with analog pressure gauges, wheel actuated safety valves, and steam whistles, while colored crystals and powder on a Conveyor belt came out from it, to be packaged and packed elsewhere for wholesale and retail distribution. They were on the newest production floor of the facility, filled with the latest production model Dust refinement and enhancement equipment the SDC could get its hands on. Pipes, hoppers, conveyer belts, and industrial machines unidentifiable to the nonprofessional where everywhere, as were keypads and touchscreens at every workstation. Yet, the layout on the floor was by no means chaotic. To be sure, most of this equipment came from other Schnee Dust Company factories with dedicated production lines. Due in part to the wish of General Ironwood’s faction on the Atlas Council to maintain at least the fiction of a competitive business atmosphere, and also in part because of principles of general good diplomacy, the remainder came from electronics and machine tool companies based in Vale and Mistral. While this production floor showed far less corrosion, grime, and general wear and tear than the rest of the edifice, astute observers could speculate that its relative cleanliness was just the product of its comparative novelty. Refined, powdered Dust came in through special containers removed from trucks and container ships via crane and placed on special tap receptacles in the courtyard the factory surrounded on three sides. The Schnee Dust Company preferred to work with powdered, uncharged Dust whenever possible, as accidents involving it demanded fewer and less expensive countermeasures. Besides, this gave the Schnee Dust Company latitude to tailor its signature product to any emerging trends of usage. Unfortunately, some varieties of Dust resisted the enhancement process, while other types of Dust charges were difficult or even impossible to replicate as enhancements, so, elsewhere in the plant, nuggets of unrefined Dust ore had to be refined in a long, expensive, and often dangerous process. “I notice that the third and fourth lanes from the far end are empty,” observed the oldest-looking person in the group, with snow-white scalp hair and a salt and pepper mustache, “what happened with the Gravity Dust enhancement?” “The process itself works fine;” explained the tour guide, “it’s just that trying to make it work outside of hard vacuum conditions causes all the spare grime and process residue to clog the accumulators completely. Just papering over the problem with filters means changing them every fifteen minutes. And to do that, we’d need to shut down the entire processor and Conveyor belts, replace the filters, and cold start them all again, each quarter hour!” “I see, so, it looks like we’re going to have to stick to refining gravity Dust ore.” The old-looking man sighed, as the thirteen-year-old girl beside him with a sheathed smallsword, at the belt of her snow white and ice blue knee dress, a purse at her shoulder, and a clear family resemblance to him looked on, an expression of resigned boredom on her face as she munched on a soft pretzel. Standing between those two were four men in identical business suits, sunglasses with wires attached to what looked like hearing aids in their left ears, and pistols concealed in their inner jacket pockets. Why am I here? Weiss Schnee asked of herself, as the lead engineer of the project gave her, her father, and their bodyguards the eight-lien tour of the newest wing of the factory. It was arguably a valid question. This trip to the Schnee Dust Company’s largest production facility took her away from her fencing and music lessons, not to mention her self-directed studies into Dust Sorcery and her impromptu Saturday afternoon explorations with her sister Winter into their shared hereditary Semblance via scroll telepresence. Weiss suspected it was because her elder sister was at Atlas Academy, and her younger brother Whitley was only eight years old. Weiss sighed at the memory she had just accidently dredged up. She had been in the music room with her teacher, tuning her vowels and practicing her key scales. The argument in the room over on the third floor of the Schnee Mansion had started slowly, muffled. When she started rehearsal on the first lines of “Echoes in the Cave Spring,” the volume began increasing, but Weiss could only discern about one word per sentence. By the time she and her teacher had moved on to Weiss’ first original composition, “Mirror, Mirror,” it had been getting difficult for either one in the music room to hear each other, or for that matter, her respective self, think. The argument in the adjoining room ended with the sound of the door in the neighboring room opening and slamming closed, and then Weiss and Winter’s mutual father Jacques Schnee, née Gelée coming into the music room, visibly forcing himself to calm down, and dismissing Weiss’ teacher from the session for that day. Weiss never asked either her father or her elder sister what had happened that day and she wasn’t certain she would have actually wanted to know the answer. “Moving on to the next room, Mr. Schnee,” the tour guide ushering the two and their retinue of bodyguards out of that room and two doors down the facility hallway to a much smaller, more intimate space that looked more laboratory than production area, “this is something I’m sure you’ll love.” “What is it?” Asked Mr. Schnee, the tone of his voice suggesting suspicion. Four men in black pants and ties and white button-down shirts were monitoring keyboards and cathode ray tube screens on a large console. Behind that console was a large window to a lit room slightly smaller than the room the tour guide and his small crowd had entered, with no obvious ingress or egress. “Well, you know how certain huntsmen’s and huntress’ Semblances grant them the ability to create portals to travel between two places without crossing the intervening space?” The tour guide’s smile widened and deepened with every word. Mr. Schnee’s eyes widened almost cartoonishly. “You mean you’ve managed to replicate the ability? How?” His question almost dripped awe. “It’s technical, and releasing the full report outside the working group will require the standard retinal, thumbprint, voice, and blood scans, but in pertinent part, the reaction involves sufficient quantities and proper proportions of Gravity and Lightning Dust.” The tour guide’s face shone with pride. “Insufficient Dust quantities for the size of the portal results in a gateway to somewhere weird, like a twilight desert of uncharged, inert Dust. You know, like what happens when you try to send Dust into outer space. Too much gravity Dust in the mix, meanwhile, causes an attractive reaction that draws things towards and through the portal, wherever it goes.” Jacques Schnee whistled in astonishment, and even his daughter nearly choked on the last of her soft pretzel. Assuming the dust quantities involved weren’t absolutely prohibitive, it could completely tip the balance of power in favor of the SDC and the Kingdom of Atlas as a whole. However, there had to be a catch. “I assume there are other drawbacks.” Jacques Schnee’s comment was a leading one. “Yes…” Just as the tour guide was about to explain whatever caveats where inherent in the system, the lights dimmed red and the alarm klaxon sounded. “Oh, &^($,” said one of the people at the consoles, causing Weiss to blanch even whiter than her usual skin color. “Not in front of my daughter,” Jacques Schnee barked. “That’s no pay for you today!” Suddenly, all monitors in the room activated, showing a bull Faunus in a Grimm half-mask covering his eyes and the bridge of his nose, and with fire-red hair and hornlets. “Ladies and gentlemen of the Schnee Dust Company, using those terms in the loosest sense possible,” the Faunus’ voice rang out, “For the crime of daring to speak out on behalf of his people, the Schnee Dust Company Security placed the leader of the White Fang under arrest despite having broken no laws of the Kingdom of Atlas or any other. But for my intervention and that of my band of heroes, he would have experienced martyrdom in a gas chamber. “As no reasonable being could construe Ghira Belladonna’s capture and treatment as an act of law, it can only be an act of war.” As the Faunus continued speaking, a numerical countdown began. “So, to mark a shift in the methods of the White Fang, here is the official second act of this war. Have a nice day. Ladies and Gentlemen of the Schnee Dust Company...” the audio and video of the production was looping before someone managed to cut the former, but the countdown continued. It was already at the one minute and thirty second mark. “Everyone, evacuate! This is a Class Five Emergency! Go to your designated exits in an orderly fashion. Everyone, evacuate! This is a Class Five Emergency! Go to your designated exits in an orderly fashion.” As the emergency warning continued over the intercom, three of the bodyguards whisked the senior Schnee out of the door, while the fourth tried to wade upstream against the crowd of evacuees to reach Weiss, and failed. Having been standing the farthest away of anyone from the only door in and out of this experiment room, Weiss was deeply regretting having worn high heels on this excursion, despite both of her parents’ request that she put on something semi-formal. She was only three steps to the door when something, probably a loose nut, caused her to trip on her pumps, making her fall. By the time she got up, the door had slammed shut, and the locking mechanism chunked home. “Let me out! Let me out!” Weiss slammed her purse on the door, making thumping noises but otherwise achieving nothing of substance. She toyed with drawing Myrtenaster and using burst Dust to blast her way out, but realized there were too many variables to work out. With the timer on all the monitors running down to thirty seconds, Weiss Schnee inhaled, exhaled, and centered herself. Somehow, she would find a way to live and face that masked Faunus. 10, 9, 8, Decision made, Weiss Schnee flared her Aura. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and everything went white! I will post Chapter Two tomorrow, but for now, I'd really like some feedback.
  21. I feel Venli's chapters in Rhythm of War were the weakest. I was intrigued by where her charecter would go after Oathbringer but was disappointed by her storyline in Row. Any ideas on what she'll do next and what part she will have to play in the later books? Also any positive opinions on her chapters in Row because I hate feeling negative about a Stormlight charecter.
  22. In an alternate universe, there was a writing machine named Branderbot 2000 who churned out romance novels 3 times a year, like clockwork. His most popular series featured a tall, dark and broodingly mysterious protagonist who went around shirtless and sparkling glowing.
