  1. From the album: Stormlight Archive - fanart

Hehe, I feel like I'm spamming with fanart... Oops, I did it again. I'm getting the hang on drawing digitally, but I still got a lot to learn... I hope you think this SA portrait series is kinda fun, because I'm having a blast.
  2. Stormlys

    Sylphrena

From the album: Stormlight Archive - fanart

My take on Sylphrena (aka little trickster) from the Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. Instead of adding her to my drawing of Kaladin, I believe Syl deserves her own portrait, thank you very much.
  3. Jasnah Kholin, my bae uwu I have always imagined her looking a little intimidating, idk, but I kind of like it… still not very good at drawing digitally, so practicing with cosmere characters really motivates me… ;p
  4. I made a Shallan. Will maybe redo the coloring part when I get better at clip studio paint. Just started painting digitally two weeks ago and it's pretty hard uwu
  5. From the album: Cosmeme & Crossmere

Finally sat down to draw cosmere stuff! Here is a character request meme from twitter and we have a bunch of popular ones here 1st line: Kelsier, Vin, Rashek 2nd line: Shallan, Evil!Dalinar as Odium’s champion, Kaladin 3rd line: Frost, Sazed, Shalash (*Kelsier wink* Thanks for your love <3)
  6. My second go at Dalinar, with an "official portrait" sort of feel. The style is based on 19th-century Russian military portraits (one by George Dawe in particular), and I used Polynesian, East Asian and Middle Eastern faces as references, to hopefully decently represent an Alethi as described in the books. This is my first time creating a portrait that's not directly referenced from an existing person, and it was a lot of fun. I'm hoping to continue with SA art, maybe expanding to characters other than my fave tight-butt Kholin (I'd love to tackle characters like Teft. Navani and Jasnah someday). Critique is totally welcome, I'm an amateur still refining and figuring things out!
  7. From the album: Stormlight Archive Fanart

    Shallan and her sketchbook.
  8. Is it one Knight Radiant or one Knights Radiant? Also are you a darkeyes Alethi or a darkeyed Alethi?
  9. From the album: Natural History of Roshar

1st of many Axehounds I have been wanting to sketch out, testing out how to merge my idea of cuddle-able soft dogs and spiky crustaceans. C-19 just means this thumbnail is number 19 on page 3 of alllll the axehound thumbnails I did a while back
  10. In the prologue to The Way of Kings it is said that Szeth's stormlight can't restore a limb "killed" by a Shardblade. However in Words of Radiance and Oathbringer we see several bridgemen doing just that. So why the inconsistency? Is it just that Honorblade stormlight healing works differently, but why shoud that be so?
  11. After years of reading it seems like the moment to say hi to the 'official' fandom! Big SA fan and all-around fan of the rest, love the wild theories and beautiful art you all make! While I can't do pictures, I do make music! Not allowed to post a link to the track because of good rules, but it's called "Gemheart" by Teen Girl Scientist Monthly and you can find it wherever you stream music. Bonus: If anybody has ideas on what to call cosmere fan music I am all ears unless you are suggesting calling it "skaa" .
  12. As a newcomer to the fandom, this was my first rough crack at SA fanart. Dalinar cemented himself as my absolute favourite of the series after I finished Oathbringer. This was pretty quick with little research or references (especially with regards to racial traits) so a lot of details are probably off, but I'm happy with the overall feel of it.
  13. INTRODUCTION So, there’re basically thirteen races (or at least thirteen races so far, if you divide those cultures into more parts) on Roshar: the Alethi, the Vedens, the Unkalaki (aka the Horneaters), the Herdazians, the Thaylens, the Natan, the Makabaki, the Selay, the Iriali, the Shin, the Reshi, the Listeners and the Aimians. Note: Here I used one of my old art created by the Chibi Maker to visualize the descriptions, though there’re still some minor inaccuracies. I really wanted to do a complete graphic chart, but it is still far off. Brandon's comment on this: A LIST OF HUMAN RACES 1. The Alethi (People of Alethkar) 1) Common features: tall stature, tan skin, black hair, lighteyes and darkeyes 2) Inspiration from Earth: Asian-Hawaiian people (You can imagine them as east-Indian people.) [source], Asian-Arab people [source] Kaladin is an Asian-Middle Eastern mix. [source] 3) Brandon's choice: Dave Bautista for Dalinar [source], Alex Landi for Adolin [source] How about the Iriali and Alethi mix we have going on with Adolin and Renarin: 2. The Vedens (People of Jah Keved) 1) Common features: fair skin, red hair, lighteyes and darkeyes 2) Inspiration from Earth: Asian-Caucasian people (supposedly more Asian-like) [source], red-haired Uyghur people [source], Shallan is a half-Irish, half-Japanese mix [source] 3. The Unkalaki (People of the Horneater Peaks) 1) Common features: light tan skin (or just fair skin like the Vedens) (supposedly lighter than the Alethi), red hair, strong back molars to break shells and claws (result of Parshendi hybrids) [source] 2) Inspiration from Earth: Asian-Caucasian people, [source] Mongolian people, Polynesian people, Russian people [source] 4. The Herdazians (People of Herdaz) 1) Common features: deep tan skin (supposedly darker than the Alethi), dark crystalline fingernails (result of Parshendi hybrids) 2) Inspiration from Earth: Hispanic people [source], indigenous Bolivian [source] 5. The Thaylens (People of Thaylenah) 1) Common features: long white eyebrows 2) Inspiration from Earth: unknown 6. The Natan (People of the former Natanatan) 1) Common features: pale bluish skin, wide nose, wool-like white hair [WoK Ch.36] (result of Aimian hybrids) [source] 2) Inspiration from Earth: unknown 7. The Makabaki (People of all the Makabak) 1) Common features: dark brown skin (or just dark skin), black hair [WoK Ch.14] 2) Inspiration from Earth: unknown Notable races: the Azish, the Tashikki, the Emuli and the Tukari (People of Azir, Tashikk, Emul and Tukar) 8. The Selay (People of the former Sela Tales) 1) Common features: skin ripples [WoK Ch.52] 2) Inspiration from Earth: unknown Notable race: the Purelaker (People of the Purelake) 1) Common features: leathery skin, dark hair, long limbs [WoR I-3] 2) Inspiration from Earth: unknown Notable race: the Babath (People of Babatharnam) 1) Common features: [women] patterns of veins beneath the skin [WoK Ch. 46] (result of Aimian hybrids) [source] 2) Inspiration from Earth: unknown 9. The Iriali (People of Iri and perhaps Rira) 1) Common features: yellow eyes, golden skin often painted various colors and patterns, golden hair with metallic sheen [WoK Ch.18, WoR I-2] 2) Inspiration from Earth: unknown Note: There are small differences between the Iriali and the Riran. [source] 10. The Shin (People of Shinovar) - The only race without epicanthic folds 1) Common features: short stature, pale skin, large round eyes, men tending to be bald, no epicanthic folds (but still hardly resemble the Caucasians on Earth) 2) Inspiration from Earth: unknown 11. The Reshi (People of the Reshi Isles) 1) Common features: tan skin, straight black hair, rounded features [WoR I-9] 2) Inspiration from Earth: Hispanic people (or at least for Lift) [source], indigenous Bolivian [source] About the Kharbranthians: The city-state is culturally diverse, so you can find different races there. 14. We have seen Shallan, when she takes a memory and draws people around her, affect people's self-perception and the actions that they take. Two prime examples of this are the slaver guard in tWoK and Elhokar in OB. I believe, and I think I've seen this elsewhere, that Shallan is doing some kind of Spiritual transformation through her art, that she is literally (but benignly and in small ways) changing these people's spirit webs or Identity. I think this may be comparable in some ways to what Shai does in Emperor's Soul. If this is correct, could we see Shallan modify someone's Identity/spirit web in such a way that they don't accept a long-term injury and become amenable to Growth/Regrowth-style healing? I'm thinking of something like Kaladin's brand or Rysn's legs. Healing and Identity/spirit webs are something that we have seen the end results of but we don't understand the mechanics very well. If Shallan CAN do this, I think it would explain why she has struggled to perform traditional transformation (Soul Casting) in the way that soul casters and Jasnah do it. Her powers, while drawing on the shared surge of transformation, would be very different and far more subtle than Jasnah's (Spiritual Transformation vs Physical Transformation).
  15. From the album: General SA Art

The first half of Oathbringer interludes characters (Puuli, Kaza, Ellista, Taravangian), also a part of Elsewhere on Roshar project (I’m back on more OB stuff!)
  16. Is Szeth's "assassin in white" outfit at all inspired by the Assassin's creed video game series?
  17. We know very little about the red eyed Faceless Immortals that the set was working with. WOBs that have recently come to my attention make me think that the might be Dysian Aimians, better known as Sleepless. They are capable of imitating humans like the being we see in Bands of Mourning and are functionally immortal. hey are not confined to Roshar as this this WoB from the Skyward release party demonstrates: Questioner Are there any Sleepless spies on other planets? Brandon Sanderson Sleepless are not confined to Roshar. Skyward release party (Nov. 6, 2018) We also know that at least some of them are affiliated with an unknown group (The Set) in the Cosmere as told by this WoB: Hoiditthroughthegrapevine Are the Dysian Aimians agents of Cultivation? If not, are they in league with another group (excluding the Knights Radiant) that we have seen? Brandon Sanderson (written) Kind of yes to both – kind of General Signed Books 2018 (April 17, 2018) So they have the abilities and the the possibility to fill that niche. The only hang is the red eyes thing, but that could be from being co-opted by a Shard like Autonomy as is the prevailing theory about who Trell is. I know it's not a lot to go on, but it's just something I wanted to throw out there.
  18. So during highstorms, do folks have to go to specific parts of buildings? They talk about buildings being abandoned during storms and people being confined a lot, but so many are stone you’d think they were safe to move around in.
  19. I’m almost done listening to Oathbringer (it’s getting crazy intense!) and I started writing some fanfic! Also, I totally didn’t know Graphic Audio was a thing until today. It looks awesome! I’ll have to check it out on my next read(?) through. Curious about which Sanderson series I should start next! -Samuel
  20. From the album: Natural History of Roshar

Shin chicken after 4000 years of evolution on Roshar would look.... not a whole lot different, if it's like Earth chicken evolution. I thought about going nuts and make it featherless and reverting back to a mini raptor, but I kind of didn't want to paint an ugly uncooked Thanksgiving dinner... So in the end it's back to being a good o' fashion chick'in - lightning color! There, so new, so shin XD
  21. From the album: Natural History of Roshar

This is a size chart showing each skyeel specie's size in relevance to a human :D
  22. From the album: Natural History of Roshar

The greater skyeel display sexual dimorphism in both in color and body size. The female is considerably larger, just like eagles and cassowary on Earth. Greater skyeel eats just about anything, including each other. They do not make good pets due to their aggressiveness, but that never stopped certain people from trying.
  23. From the album: Natural History of Roshar

The greater skyeel is a voracious and aggressive predator in the skyeel family. Their powerful muscles gives them bursts of speed when needed. Their size and weight prevents them from diving for prey on the ground, so they often go for airborne prey, or sweep prey off trees, rooftops, hill/rock tops.
