  1. So I've been wondering about what it's like to be a Returned in Idris (mostly because I'd want to read that fanfic). And I realized that, as far as I'm aware, we don't have either canon info or WoBs for, like ninety percent of it. So I'm not asking for answers per se, just informed speculation. Or baseless speculation, if there's nothing to be informed by. Or headcanons. - Is there any reason Idrians would keep a Returned's past a secret, like they do in Hallandren? Or is it, "Hey, Bob! Yeah, your name is Bob*. Also, that's your parents and your sister and your favorite dog over there." - Idrian Returned re-die at the end of the week. I'm assuming that there's not much time to go around healing people**. There's also not much time to make a long-term social difference. So what sort of task does Endowment send them back for? Do they all have visions like Vo? - Also, do Returned whose task doesn't involving giving up their Breath have that moment of recollection like Lightsong had? Or do they just muddle along? - Since Idrians are all about being ostentatiously non-ostentatious, do you think their Returned look smaller and plainer than they did when alive? - How do you think they feel about knowing they're going to shortly die again? And that if they ate Breath they'd live? Do you think they ever try to run away to Hallandren or something? *Unless Lightsong's drunken monkey of naming has a gig in Idris, too, then it would be "Hey, Nounverber the Adjective! Your name used to be Bob!" ** I suppose if they were already in the same general area as the person who needed healing, it would be possible.
  2. Just finished up Warbreaker (had a lot of fun reading it). There was a lot about the magic system that was left unexplained, which I feel was intentional on Brandon's part and I completely understand. However, I was a little bit confused about how Vasher, a Returned, is ever at heightenings below the fifth, when he himself says that all Returned start at the fifth heightening by virtue of their single divine breaths. For example, in the epilogue, he and Vivenna are said to both be at the Second Heightening. Any help would be appreciated!
  3. Essentially what it says in the title. I've been thinking of a lot of Cosmere questions lately, and I think this is one I'm most proud of, as it doesn't seem like anyone else has sparked on the idea yet. If a worldhopper traveled to Nalthis and died for whatever reason, would they be able to return? We know that Breath is one of the easiest magics for non-natives to wield, and since the Divine Breath of a Returned comes from Endowment, it stands to reason that a Shard would have an even easier time stamping Investment onto someone from the outside. I think there are some interesting possibilities here. I subsequently started wondering if, perhaps, the female Terris worldhopper was a member of the Court of the Returned. I think it would be really neat, and quite unexpected, though I understand that the nurse is the prevailing theory and more likely, considering the gleeful smile Brandon gave when asked.
  4. If Szeth son son Vallano went to Nalthis, how similar to the returned would he be? Would he have to consume a soul every week?
  5. I don't know if anyone has talked about this yet but I've noticed this and I thought I might as well share. So, in Warbreaker, we see that when the Returned come back from the cognitive realm (moving from the cognitive realm to the physical realm), their memories of their previous lives are lost, or at least damaged. Also, in The Stormlight Archive, when spren come from the cognitive realm to the physical realm, their memories are also damaged. So we see a trend that when a person (or entity? I don't know what a spren would be labeled under) goes from the cognitive realm to the physical realm, their memories are damaged. And this is an effect across the entire cosmere, not just on a particular planet, because it happens on two separate worlds. In Mistborn: Secret History, Kelsier is in the cognitive realm. But, it is implied at the end of Secret History that Kelsier has found a way to come back to the physical realm. Also, in Bands of Mourning, we see someone (almost definitely kelsier) in the coppermind given to Waxillium by Hoid. So, Kelsier has traveled from the cognitive realm to the physical realm. Does this mean that, like in Warbreaker and The Stormlight Archive, Kelsier has lost his memory? This would mean Kelsier's activities in the second mistborn series are performed with little to no memory of his previous life, unless he has found some way to counteract this effect. This raises some interesting questions. How do others, such as Hoid, who travel using the cognitive realm, retain their memories? What about Soulcasters such as Shallan and Jasnah, who briefly visit the cognitive realm? The only link I can make is that the person must actually die and become separated from their body for them to lose their memory. However, this doesn't explain why spren follow this pattern as well. Also, something I just thought of while writing this, how did Kelsier get his old body back? Unrelated, but still interesting. If you have anything to add, or if you have a theory or know the answers to any of my questions, please reply. Thanks!
  6. Hi everybody!!! I've been a fan of Brandon's work for a long time now, but it's my first time on this fantastic website... Great job guys!!! So I've started rereading all the books again and when I read Warbreaker I came across this site... I read some threads about the Royal Locks and the Returned and couldn't help to notice that some people believe that Denth is part of the Royal line... So Vo was the first Returned and the one that introduced the shape shifting ability to the Royal line. It's a mix of human and Returned. The Royal line can change their hair colour but could change maybe more as indicated by Vasher at the end of the book. The Five Scolars came after Vo. The Returned can all shapeshift. So my question is, when Denth dies his hair changes colour because he is Returned, not because he is part of the Royal line, right? Thanks for your replies in advance, looking forward to having some great discussions on this platform
  7. This might be the most important of Cosmere topics. Now we understand that the different magics and peoples of the Cosmere are fascinating and amazing. But even more so are the entities that were never alive, yet have a personality and drive of their own. These Splinters are pockets of Shardic Power that develop a type of intelligence. It is apparent that these beings are critical to the overall narrative of the Cosmere, while some are likely the perpetrators of some of the greatest evils seen so far. What are these Splinters and how do you recognize one? Transcripts: I wish my father could have come to Roshar. Things that seemed mundane to others fascinated him to no end. The rocky hills and the crustaceous life that seems to make up this entire world are so different from the home I once knew. He would have written enough dissertations and filled enough sketchbooks to drown a man in the first week alone. He was odd, but he had a love of discovery, and visiting other worlds would have been a dream come true for him. And my brother…. He would have loved seeing all the different shapes spren come in. The spren are small spirit looking entities that appear around the planet. Forces and states of mind that normally too subtle to observe clearly are manifested visually making their study far easier to perform empirically. I believe that a spren is a physical representation of a cognitive entity. They are not physical in the sense that you can touch them, or that they have any sort of measurable mass. But they remind me of the simple minds that exist, attached to the objects in the Cognitive realm. However, these are not attached to any one object, rather they are bound to a purpose or intent. For instance, if one is provoked into anger, anger spren seem to be drawn out, and serve as a secondary indicator of the being’s intent. There are also Spren tied to more ecological forces, such as flame spren and river spren. I’ve even observed spren that seem to account for things unseen, such as wind spren and life spren. This aspect of spren and their natures yields promising potential in the fields of science and sociology. It must be far easier to consult or comfort someone when fear spren manifest their anxiety. In my personal journals I have been writing up my observations of the spren and their forms. My notes are far from professional and I doubt anyone but myself would be interested in these notations. I feel there must be some connection between the existence of spren and the High Storms which bring great rushing surges of Investiture. These cataclysmic storms occur most weeks if not multiple times a week. Such a rush of raging power must have metaphysical effects along with the violent weather phenomena that is the storm wall. Now while I would love to chat about spren all day, this letter is a particular note because I have a theory about what these spren actually are. You see they take up a form that is far too intelligent to be just a stray consciousness. Some of the larger spren are able to interact and mimic people, such as wind spren. They have an almost playful attitude towards life and have been known to play pranks on humans they encounter. No, there is something far greater at work here. As you know from my previous letter, I am now aware of the former existence of Adonalsium and of the shattering. These fractured Shards left and later developed a drive or fundamental nature to themselves. Shards are immense in scope and power. This power yields abilities that seem only limited to the imagination. In fact, we know from the “Words of Founding” that Shards have created life from their power. Now getting back to the topic at hand, these spren do not act like any animal I have ever come across. They seem to thrive on ideas and concepts of the human mind. By observing and often mimicking what they interact with, spren reveal that they have a core nature. They are drawn to some kid of theme or purpose. This tendency, to have and hold true to an idea or states of environment that reflects what they themselves are. In this way they remind me of matured Shards. As you recall, the Shards seem to have a compulsion to see out a particular ideal, usually summarized by the name they adopt. The spren seem to mimic this type of behavior and single-mindedness. I postulate, based on these observations that spren are little pockets of Shardic power. Unlike raw Investiture, which is simply harness-able energy, spren are power with a measured intelligence and will. They are like Splinters of a soul. It is easier to understand this position when you visit the Cognitive Realm. There the Spren seem far more complex, and even dangerous. There are whispers of larger spren that have intelligence and memories who live there. I hope to do more direct observing as soon as I have established myself with the peoples here. I have seen enough to recognizes that there is something nearly supernatural about these beings. It seems reasonable to assume that these spren are pieces of a greater whole. Splinters are entities of power that were never alive as a humanoid, but attain a level of… consciousness. This is where things are still a bit fuzzy. It cannot be denied that the spren are intelligent, at least in a broad sense. By contrast the Returned on Nalthis also carry with them a Splinter in the form of a divine breath. In fact, all breath might be considered a splinter since they are portions of a Shards power, but a Divine Breath is unique. Yet it must be asked, are the Returned a person brought back from death by infusing their soul with a splinter, or does the Splinter itself inherit the body of a dead person? The answer to this might simply be both, and for this particular argument the distinction is not important. What matters is that there is an intent behind both a spren and Divine Breath. I would then also guess from my studies that Seons could be considered Splinters. They are far more than just a symbol of Aon-dor, and they exemplify obedient intelligence with a profound memory and distinct personality. In this way they might be the most advance form of documented Splinter to date. However, there is a potential in the spren, and if the Nightwatch and Stormfather can be confirmed as massive spren, they might be the most powerful Splinters known to man. I am particularly intrigued by this Nightwatycher. There are rumors that she can grant requests that come with an associated boon. If this is more than a myth, the implications are… staggering. Regardless I plan to make the journey to see this being. I also hope to find a good location to watch a High Storm, hopefully I will be able to observe this Storm Father for myself. As I’ve pondered these findings, my thoughts turned to Scadreal. At first I couldn’t think of any beings or entities there that would count as Splinters. In fact, I still feel that Scadreal has never seen a Splinter according to the historical records that we have. Yet I pause at the thought of the Kandra. The shapeshifters are intelligent beings that once were mindless creatures. They gained their intelligence via the powers of two hemalergic spikes. This was when I made the connection between spikes and Splinters. This may be an unrelated correlation, but the similarities are strong, and only separated by scope. Most hemalergic spikes are simply a form of spiritual surgery, ripping one soul apart and splicing pieces of that soul into another person. But with the kandra, they grant actual consciousness as if they were a Splinter themselves. Perhaps they are. However, I abhor the thought of anyone performing an investigation. Any testing with Hemallergy will be destructive beyond the point of rationality. What troubles me are the whispers of these Voidbringers. On Roshar there are tales of monsters built of stone and darkness that once sought the destruction of all sentient life on this world. The rumors are whispers at best, but I have made several well informed connections. If my discoveries here are accurate and these void spren are actually real, then we are dealing with splinters that are openly hostile. My guess is that these spren move with an intent and were created purposefully by a destructive Shard. I see now why I was sent here, for history seems ripe to repeat itself. I wish to be absolutely wrong about this, but my gut feeling is that there is a great destruction coming. To you, I suggest the following caution. Should I prove right, and find that there are evil spren sent to do the work of a destructive shard, be sure to look for the patterns. These splinters seem to be mimics or replicas of what already exists here. This goes against all that I have observed on other worlds where the Shards manifest uniquely when exerting their respective Investiture powers. If this Dark one seeks to mimic his fellows, then his touch may be subtle. Look for the signs of madness or corruption of what already exists. Red eyes… perhaps this is another sign to watch for. There are reports that the people who wage war here have recently been seen with glowing red eyes. This might be the only reliable way to recognize the servants of this being. Then again, it is possible that there are multiple Shards attempting to cause upheaval and destruction. That thought alone sends a shiver up my spine. I will continue to look into these Void bringers, and there are more reports coming in all the time. Something inside me feels as if there is a great bell just beginning to toll the final hours of this place. The air almost hums with tension and I fear that someday this world will break. I hope your messengers can find me amidst what is to come. Perhaps I am wrong, but this seems all too familiar. I wish I had more time, but I am afraid… afraid that I will once again watch innocent lives be snuffed out. I don’t want to watch another world die. Elsric
  8. Note: I haven't been very active within the 17th shard, and don't know if this idea has been brought up before. Also, this will jump back and forth between several Cosmere works, but will mainly focus on Warbreaker. Now to begin... I was recently rereading Warbreaker when I noticed something interesting. Specifically on page 129 when Llarimar is talking to Lightsong about why he would have returned As to how this origin is specifically is important, in Mistborn: Secret History We also get to see the Cognitive Realm from Jasnah and Shallan's point of views in the Stormlight Archives, essentially a world filled with an ocean of spheres. With the way the Cognitive Realm is shown on these shardworlds, it can be seen that the Cognitive Realm mirrors the Physical Realm and is where people go after dying, but only temporarily in most cases. As to how the amount of time someone remains within the Cognitive Realm affects the origin of the Returned, we know that after a few moments, minutes tops, the soul, or Cognitive Shadow, moves on to the Spiritual Realm. Within Warbreaker, when Llarimar reveals Ligtsong's former life, he mentions that they found him dead, and then he Returned. This means that Lightsong had been dead for a relatively long amount of time, as he had died at sea and they had had to recover his body. Most likely within this circumstance, Lightsong had moved on to the Spiritual Realm, and then Returned. Another reason to support Lightsong's journey to the Spiritual Realm, is the perception of time. As shown in both shardworlds, time moves parallel between the cognitive and physical realms. This means that the future couldn't be seen in either of these. With this knowledge of the realms, anything that does not play into the present status of the Cosmere, must occur within the Spiritual Realm. This is supported within the Emperor's Soul as the magic system, forging, works by changing the past of the person or object being affected, and has also been mentioned as pertaining to the Spirtiual Realm. With this idea in mind, the quote from earlier mentions the future, which is not the present, and therefore would likely occur within the Spiritual Realm. I must now humbly admit that this is a theory, and is simply based upon what was seemingly a revelation to me as I was reading. However, I do ask that you take this seriously, and take whatever thoughts it inspires to new heights, and maybe even offer more evidence to support this theory, or tweak it slightly to make it fit better within the cosmere.
  9. This will, perhaps, surprise no one, but Brandon confirmed on Reddit that the act of Returning heals and restores the body. You can read the entire exchange by following the link (it has some interesting but not groundbreaking tidbits about Lightsong's own Return and how long it takes for somebody to Return), but the gist of it is this: Credit to /u/Phantine for asking the question(s).
  10. Something I saw on the Cosmere Q&A sparked this idea. The general process of Returning works thusly: A person dies, their soul is shown a picture of some bad future (or at least some facet of it that they care about), and then the soul is given the choice of whether or not to Return. If they accept, they gain a Divine Breath and Return as a 5th-Heightening amnesiac that needs an additional Breath each week. However, there's something odd going on. Why do the memories not return when the person does? If it were the actual soul (or rather, the Cognitive and Spiritual aspects of that person) returning, the memories they had would come with them (as part of the Cognitive aspect of that soul). This is very much not the case (as it would severely simplify and obviate the major mystery of Lightsong's character, among others), but what is interesting is that muscle memory is maintained (juggling vs. pottery, for example), attitudes are maintained (Lightsong instinctually rebelling against the gods' lifestyle, instinctually calling Llarimar "Scoot"), but not memory. My conclusion is that the Returned is not the original soul but is instead a Divine Breath in the shape of the original soul. The spiritual Connections remain in place, and the Physical body of course has not moved during the process of Returning, but the Cognitive is absent entirely. The process of Returning, therefore, is a "half as long, twice as bright" version of making a Lifeless, that only Endowment can do because She can see into all 3 realms. What happens to the soul? I suspect that this shaping forges a Connection between the soul and the body, and therefore the soul sticks around as a Cognitive Shadow, watching their body work toward the goal set by Endowment's Awakening. (Maybe that's why the Returned needs so much Breath - it's all going to sustain the original soul in the Cognitive Realm)
  11. As I recall, there is a WoB out there that states that Vasher/Zahel survives on Roshar using stormlight to fuel his life instead of breath. Well, that all makes sense. I can see why one kind of investiture would be as good a fuel as another. I suppose absorbing stormlight is very convenient for a returned Vasher, because it is a lot less rare than breath, plus he probably has access to it's healing properties and the like. But. How exactly is he absorbing stormlight? Regular people don't do that! So. The fact that he can absorb it in the first place only has a few possible explanations. Each of them have very interesting implications. Let us examine them. Explanation 1: There is a trick that will let anyone absorb stormlight, and only Vasher knows it (maybe some kind of fabrial...?). This trick is how he is able to breath stormlight. This would be extremely interesting because that means everyone can theoretically use a ubiquitous resource on Roshar to gain supernatural strength, speed, and healing. This is fairly unlikely, because I can't really see how the story would work if some day people figure this out, and then everyone on Roshar is suddenly superhuman. Explanation 2: This has something to do with the fact that Vasher is returned. Somehow, his status of returned is letting him breath stormlight. I have no idea why being returned would let him do this, but it seems like a sensible explanation. This would also in turn mean that a lot of returned would probably find it convenient to move to Roshar. I would probably say this explanation is the second most likely, even though the mechanism for how this could work is (at least right now) unclear. Explanation 3: This one is quite unlikely. But possibly why Vasher can use stormlight is because he is actually a radiant. Perhaps after the events in Warbreaker, he eventually became one of the first radiants, probably around the time Jasnah was discovering her powers. I doubt it, but we can't rule it out I suppose. Explanation 4: This one is in my opinion the most interesting. And I believe it is also the most likely option. Vasher has an honorblade. Most honorblades are held by the Shin (one of them of coarse being wielded by Szeth), but there is also reason to believe that some of them are missing from the Shin. When Taravangian was lying to Szeth about one of the blades disappearing (to explain Kaladin's powers), I think he said something like "one of the eight" disappeared. That means the Shin own eight of the ten. I am pretty sure Nalan has one of the missing blades, because Lift witnessed him wield a shardblade and use stormlight. I believe Vasher secretly owns the second missing blade. That lines up with everything we know so far. And this happens to be the only known mechanism for someone who doesn't take radiant oaths to be able to do what Vasher is apparently doing. So, in conclusion, Vasher probably owns an honorblade I guess. He seems to have some kind of affinity for extremely invested swords.
  12. Okay, it's very possible that this has already been answered or addressed elsewhere and I missed it (in which case, please point me there), but I'm a little unclear about who exactly, the Returned are. What I mean is that the other Splinters we've seen in the Cosmere are sapient, whereas the Divine Breath is referred to as a Splinter, but not the Returned. The Returned themselves are almost entirely tabula rasa, so are their souls still there, but somehow cut off from their Identity, or are the bodies simply vessels/meat suits for the Divine Breaths? Personally, I'd suspect that they are more the former, but Bonded so tightly with their partnering Divine Breath as to be functionally indistinguishable. I know a lot of that is very much the citation-needed sort of speculation, but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

    Dor's Strength

Hi, I'm a little versed in the Cosmere by reading this forum some, a bit of the Coppermind, and some WoB threads. I have read Stormlight Archives, Warbreaker and Elantris; I need to read Mistborn to get more versed in the Cosmere. I'm just curious if anyone knows why Elantris' Dor is so stupendously overpowered compared to the other magic systems? Returned can heal one person, and Awakeners are limited by amount of breath/color on hand. Fabrials are limited by the size of the gem/amount of stormlight contained, and Radiants have a limited amount of abilities and again stormlight is a major limiting factor. The Dor is an incredible well of power, just waiting to be tapped by Aons and other magic channeling on Sel as long as the user knows the proper Aons, modifiers and has the time to draw it. It has been in use for an unknown amount of time but is just burning to cross over. How is it so powerful?
  14. I'm assuming the answer is no but I'm curious what other people think about this.
  15. Hey Sharders! In Warbreaker there is a scene where Vasher is without Breath completely, making him a Drab. As we learn later, Vasher is Returned, so wouldn't being without Breath kill him? Returned need a Breath a week to survive, but what happened to Vasher's one Returned Breath? I know Vasher can change how he appears and all that, but how does that hide his aura?
  16. It seems that all people must undergo some form of stress to gain their powers. Mistborn need to "snap" and experience some form of traumatizing physical or emotional stress to gain allomancy. The Elantrians need to be taken by the Shaod. The Returned somehow gain one incredibly powerful breathe when they return, although anyone can get enough breathe to become powerful. The parshendi must transform in the middle of a highstorm, and surgebinders must form the nahel bond with a spren. Kaladin, at least, was physically, emotionally, and mentally stressed before he figured out the oaths. Thoughts?
  17. So, we know hoid has some hundreds of Breaths. We also know that his hair is sometimes white, sometimes not. Perhaps this is the result of dye, but perhaps not. Perhaps Hoid is Returned, and can change his appearance with this. Being Returned would explain, but is not limited to; The white hair Immortality Breath The foresight he has. Returned dreams are thought to be prophetic? Combine those with some mental speed and fortune feruchemy, and you know exactly where and when you need to Worldhop to. Also, even if he didn't have too much Breath, he could still use other magic systems to fuel his Returned breath consumption. He can probably use feruchemy to store investiture to fuel this somehow. Who knows? So many options. Please, feel free to discuss, add, or rip this theory apart.
  18. So, shapeshifting. That does not have a large position in the cosmere books. I don't think we have really seen it at all, so your curiosity should be piqued. Instead, let me walk you through healing: We know that the reason Kaladin did not heal his slave brand, but Lopen healed his arm was due to their perceptions of themselves. Kaladin saw himself with his slave brand. Basically, healing is modelled after a certain pattern defined by self perception. I think most people having read the night angel trilogy notice something here (massive night angel spoilers): I should introduce the following assumption here: Healing occurs whenever someone's physique differs from the perception/pattern proposed. Basically, it amounts to this. If someone who can heal changes how they see themselves, they will shapeshift, and this could be used to powerful ends. What do you think? Please tell me if I missed something. EDIT: Added a spoiler tag
  19. Do all kinds of Investitures follow the Balance? The Breath Investiture from Warbreaker is a little sketchy. If someone dies, their Breath dies with them. So, when someone is born, where does their Breath come from?
  20. I am reading the Warbreaker Annotations and this make me think: Therefore my doubt is: May a Returned heals a Drab ? And May he/she heals an other-Shardworld's Human?
  21. Llarimar refuses to tell Lightsong how he died several times throughout the novel. This seems to be common practice among the priests. When Llarimar finally does tell Lightsong, there aren't any repercussions. So why do the priests withhold this valuable information as it might help the returned remember their purpose? The only answer I can see is to provide suspense. For obvious reasons I'm not satisfied with that answer especially considering that it's Sanderson we're talking about.
  22. It is mentioned in Warbreaker that Returned have the ability to manipulate their body, changing certain physical attributes such as build. Is this simply a property of the Returned, or do all people of the 5th Heightening or higher have this ability.
  23. Returned that feed of Stormlight I put together this theory about "How could a Returned lives on Roshar for long (maybe infinite) time without Breath supply". First of all begin with "well know facts": - The Returned was dead people resurrected through the Divine Breath. - The Divine Breath is a Splinter of Endowment - A Returned must feed of One-Breath-amount of Investiture every week, or dies. - The Sprens are Shard's Splinters (like Seon). - On Roshar a Bond could grant additional powers. - The Seon-Bond are confirmed to give new powers on Roshar. - There are a Returned on Roshar who could be possible not use Breath to stay alive. Now I would add some of my "thesis" (this are contestable) : - The Returned are Bond with their Divine Breath. - The Roshar's Manifestation of Investiture had two effects: 1) Granted Ability based on the Bond's nature (example: a Seon-Bond doesn't grant the "surges"). 2) Granted the Ability to access to Roshar's Investiture (Stormlight) to use the point 1 Abilities. I have finished this long prologue and began to explain what my theory is: The Returned are Bond to their Divine Breath and on Roshar their Bond granted them addictional Powers. Regardless what this "powers" are, they are granted to the absorption of Stormlight to fuel them. This Stormlight could be used by the Returned to remain alive. A Returned could "suppress" his own Divine Breath every day and "unsuppress" it only when He would/must feed of Stormlight, this could me made directly from ad Highstorm (Dangerous) or quite easy from a Infused Sphere hidden from the Other's sight. If this is true, Roshar is the perfect Returned's Habitat. It offer an abundant Free Investiture (like other Shardworld) and a easy way to use its (otherwise from other Shardworld) to someone with a Bond. I really appreciate your opinion about this theory of mine
  24. T'Telir, the shining capital of Halladren, and home of The Court of the Gods, where the Returned ruled as deities over their colorful citizens -- and colorless, lifeless armies -- all while deferring to the God King, MiriKas. Living life as a god would be tough, or so you would have people think, but really you just live in a life of lavishness and luxury, with countless servants to attend your every need and desire, and you only require one thing to live. Breath. The time of living exuberantly is, unfortunately, at an end. A group of infiltrators have managed to gain access to The Court of the Gods, and have subtly managed to get a small group of Returned to join their cause, and to push for war and rebellion against the God King. MiriKas will not tolerate this. You have been ordered to root out the infiltrators and purge the court of all Rebels, at all costs, even if it means your own life. This will be a standard Quick-Fix Game, with Cycles lasting 24 hours and essentially consisting of both Day and Night. Votes will be made publicly in the thread, and the Rebels will get to chose to make a kill each cycle as well. Being that this is the Court of the Gods, and you will all be Returned, there is a twist. Each one of you has your Divine Breath, bringing you back to life for your godly purpose. At any point in the game, all players have the option to send in a PM order to give up your life, saving another player that cycle. This will work for the lynch as well as the Rebel kill. Doing so will automatically kill you, even if who you wanted to save didn't die. There are no roles or other special actions that can be made in this game. For signing up, I'll need a Returned name from each player, and their choice of two colors. Sign-ups will last a little over a week until about 7AM EST, August 2nd. Quick Links:
  25. As the title states, which team do you think would win in a duel, given that all of the magic systems work simultaneously. Team 1: Pre-Radiance Kaladin; unconsciously uses Stormlight as he did in Bridge Four, and has no shards. Vin at her strongest (But not as Preservation); plenty of Allomantic stores. Hrathen, ability as shown in Elantris. Enough said. Team 2: Raoden at his best, able to make use of AonDor. Denth in Warbreaker, plain beast. Eshonai in Warform and in full plate. Place of Battle: Elantris, Sel. Who do you think will win? Feel free to justify below
