I checked, and this wasn't a thing! It is now! I have been playing for 8 years and 3 days now, just passed the anniversary mark, and it is seriously the greatest thing. How 'bout everyone else here? Aspiring pianists welcome! (@Experience, @Shard of Reading, I know you play )

I write music as a hobby, sort of. At random times, a melody will just pop into my head. On the occasions that I write it down, I typically end up with something I'm proud of, but too shy to share. My piano teacher told me I should enter some of my songs in a composing competition, so I would really appreciate feedback. I put the score and the audio for convenience. I lack a mic that can record myself properly, so the audio is the notation program's robot piano. It... doesn't always have the best sound. The main problem is that the robot can't gradually change speed or phrase measures how I intend them to be phrased. The score itself is also a little wonky, but still readable. For this song, I have a rather important question. The melody sounds familiar, and I'm wondering if I subconsciously plagiarized. If anyone recognizes the main melody from somewhere else, can they tell me? I hope it's not too terrible! Music Score Robot Recording

A few days ago, I was rereading the Stormlight Archive, and I was suddenly hit with emotion when I read one of Kaladin’s POVs. I pondered for a bit, then I ran over to the piano and recorded my emotions. I thought I’d post it here to see if anyone was interested in a little Sanderson inspired improvisation. Hello everyone! This is a composition that I've been working on for a while, it is based of the character Shallan. This is my second composition (and I have no idea what I'm doing) and I'm looking for feedback. Shallan's Theme is different than Tien's (which I wrote previously) in that I had a LOT of drafts before I posted it. Shallan is, right now, a jumbled mess of patterns (no pun intended) that I stitched together and called a 'song'. It is a concept, subject to change.
