    Yo~

Hey! I'm new! I accidentally stumbled across Brandon Sanderson's work and now I'm obsessed. I've kind of jumped all over the place. I've read Warbreaker, The Reckoners, and Mistborn Era 1.
  2. Hey i'm new is it possible to get a copy of white sand and aether of night,
  3. That's me, just thought I'd say hello! Let y'all know I exist. Heppy to be among hardcore fans! It's so ahrd for me to find them these days.
  4. Hello! I'm excited to finally be a part of the cosmere club. Now I can speculate absurd ways of hacking the magic systems just like I used to, but now it'll be official. Medium-sized blurb about me: favorite cosmere setting so far is Mistborn Era 2, Wayne is such an awesome character (maybe even as awesome as Lift). Favorite feasible power set (as you might be able to tell from my username): Twinborn Allomantic Slider + Feruchemical Steelrunner A theory that I've been considering recently is what would an allomantic bendalloy savant be able to do? Take his time bubble with him as he moves? Reduce his bubble to act like a second skin so that no one else could accidentally get inside and reap the benefits?
  5. Hi all, So I'm new. Not much of a forum guy. I'm just here because I completely ran out of Sanderson fiction and am here to try and get my hands on The Aether of Night. It started in February 2016 when someone lent me Way of Kings. After reading it I found out it was a decalogue and realized it was by that guy with the decalogue that I really didn't want to start on because it would take forever. So thank goodness for the Brandonbot. I binged everything Sanderson I could get my hands on ... everything but The Aether of Night. As far as I know. Brandon is my current favorite. Other bingable ones are Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Guy Kay and Connie Willis. About me: I'm an English student turned editor turned bookseller turned filmmaker/animator. And sure, at the beginning of all that I thought I would be a novel writer someday. Brandon's videotaped lectures and Writing Excuses sure have rekindled that idea. It'll be a lot simpler than Brandon's work though — currently contemplating a private children's book for my boy. Then for my girl the year after. Goals without deadlines are dreams, so their birthdays should get me going Curious to see if 17th shard can fill the void till the next book. On the other hand, I should use that spare time, right? Cheers, Frank
  6. Heya, so ... I'm new to this forum, but I've been a fan of Sanderson for a few years. I've read most of the cosmere books (with the exception of the Wax & Wayne books) and my favourite is probably Warbreaker.
  7. (I hope this is the right section for this kind of conversation and if not I apologize. Did a quick search and didn't immediately see another thread talking about this though I'm sure several exist.) I have been pushing Sanderson on people lately with varying levels of success and so I was wondering where you have recommended people start to get them to buy into reading more. For example, I started with Way of Kings and so some people I have recommended they begin there. With my little sister, who hasn't really read any fantasy beyond The Chronicles of Narnia, I recommended she begin with Mistborn but she got bored fairly quickly and gave up—I was devastated! I had some nerdier friends who I told to read "Sanderson's Second Law" so they would see how strong of a grasp Brandon has on the genre and how much he has magic systems down to a science. Recently, I have been recommending Elantris or The Emperor's Soul because they're strong, short, and largely self-contained. How have you approached this? What have you found worked well and what didn't? (Yes, I know people are going to like what they like but I like to pretend that I am something of an Allomantic Soother...)
  8. Hello I'm dj and I'm a Brandaholic. I have been an addict for 6 years...
  9. I have just recently finished every published Cosmere story (except for White Sand ) and have decided to make an account. I look forward to interacting with this awesome community and learning everything there is to know about the cosmere.
  10. Hello! I read all of Brandon's books but only recently started realized there was a Cosmere and want to reread for Oathbringer. Besides reading them in order, should I read the books in a specific order to have the Cosmere make sense? Also is there any knowledge that I should know going in? Don't worry about spoilers. Thanks, Pang
  11. Hello everybody, New here, I'm Maddein, Sanderson's fan for a few years now and I finally decided to create an account here! I'm 33, French and got back to studying nearly 3 years ago. Ah and I draw sporadically... Nice to meet you all!
  12. So hi guys, I forgot to make one of these a couple months ago when I joined, but guess what I exist!! Most of the time when I post stuff it's really insane/half-baked theories that may be just crazy enough to work. And, uh, I like... long walks on the beach, and food... *sees bowl of cookies* Oh cool what are these! *picks one up* Oh they're oatmeal raisin, nevermind...
  13. Ummm.... Hello? I am Jake, and I need something that I understand. Hence this. I am most likely the youngest on here, being twelve, but, tell us what your favorite book is and what you liked bout it.
  14. Hi everyone! I am new! I am not entirely sure how this works ,so go easy. By the way my bro is Hemalurgic headshot
  15. Yo I'm new here thats about all there is to say...
  16. "Three Claws, I TOLD YOU TO GUARD THAT VOLE!" Sorry about that, I "OR I'll CUT YOU TAIL OFF YOU BUCKTOOTHED CROSSEYED WEASEL!" *Ahem.* Sorry about Cluny. Let me explain. Once upon a time, a guy told me to get a life. So, I read books. This gave me life. (I suspect many of you can relate.) Unfortunately, before I was able to stumble upon the awesome life the Cosmere could have given me, I stumbled upon Redwall. I have officially read the books 76 times. (I have read High Rulain 14 times, but Mattimeo only twice.) Thus, I am one part worldhopper and two parts evil rat or long patrol hare. I have observed the workings of the cosmere for a long time, read all the books, (except for Warbreaker) and have also long been a part of "HALF TAIL! ONEEYE! LEAD YOUR SQUADS AND KILL THOSE DANG GOUSIM!" the seventeenth shard, though I have not had an account for long. I do not want any cookies, but I would like it if someone could tell me a good mafia or role-playing place for beginners.
  17. Hello! So I have started reading Sanderson's book very recently and I am absolutely addicted. So far I have gotten through: Mistorn Trilogy Warbreaker Stormlight Archive 1 and 2. I am about to go shopping for my next Sanderson book and cannot wait. While I am here, do you have any recommendation for my next book, to get a better grasp of the cosmere? I want to theorize but do not want to come across any spoilers yet in case I ruin my next book. Great to be here, I do think I will stick around! Entropy
  18. Hi! I'm new here! My name is Alena, and I've been a Sanderson fan for a while now, but have finally managed to become a part of the 17th Shard, and I'm so happy to be here! I've read most of the Cosmere based stories and books (excluding most of those in Arcanum Unbounded, and The Bands Of Mourning, which I have yet to read). I am extremely new to the Cosmere idea, as I just knew of its existence within the last year. I am currently re-reading the Cosmere-based books to study the Cosmere, its history, and its main "players." I am awed by the extensive information and history behind it, and I hope to gain knowledge of the whole picture (or, in our case, what we have of it so far) on this site. Hope to get to know some of you, and I am so excited to begin discussing topics and learning new things!
  19. Hi! I've been following posts on 17th shard for a while and haven't gotten around to creating an account until now. I've got a few theories of my own that I'm going to be posting later, after prusing certain threads making sure I'm not makeing a duplicate. Will be nice to converse with you guys in the future!

  22. Hello and thank you for setting up the site! I have discovered Brandon Sanderson's books this summer and I have by now read all the Cosmere books published in the UK where I live – and currently reading Arcanum Unbounded! The Mistborn trilogy has been the first set I have read and it has been an immense inspiration for me as an illustrator! I have rushed through the books because I just couldn't have enough, and I am going to re-read them with the intention of illustrating more of the characters and salient scenes, as I often imagine things incorrectly after the first read through (You might see it in the first drawing I did of Kelsier and Vin I posted on the site, eheh). I am also open for suggestions from other fans, do you have a favourite scene/character you would like to see more of? Let me know, it is great to hear prompts and recommendations! Hope to hear from you guys soon! Fran
  23. Hi All, I'm Lantern2814. I'm a longtime cosmere fan who is just now joining, although I've been reading posts on here for a long time. I love what you all have to say! Thanks!
  24. Hi! I started reading Brandon Sanderson's work several years ago after discovering Elantris. I think my favorite book is Warbreaker, and I wish it were in a series because I want more in that world.
  25. Hello Everyone! I am excited to be a part of this community. I was introduced to the Mistborn series about a year ago and just fell in love with Brandon Sanderson's writing. Since I have read many more of his works, and even reread the Mistborn series (mostly because of Secret History, I now have to look at all the books more closely, which I absolutely love!). Any who, excited to be here, and explore and hopefully contribute. Thanks! Chellaei
