Panorama of Roshar. Hope you guys like it! I had a LOT of fun painting this one, though I was nervous about accidentally spoiling something as I was only starting the Oathbringer at the time of painting this. I'm definitely painting more of Stormlight in the future. Maybe Jasnah... or Pattern? I'd love to be commissioned for official art for the future books, that would be the dream! I also welcome any feedback and critique, both for artistic execution and lore, but keep in mind that there had to be some liberty in putting together Urithiru so low and close to the Shattered plains and Horneater Peaks, for the sake of making the focal pieces clustered [Urithiru + Stormfather above the Shattered Plains] in the center of the painting as requested, for custom book sleeves with for all 4 books. Their spines, when put together, show the center of the painting. "The most important step a man can take. It's not the first one, is it? It's the next one. Always the next step."

Here is the first chapter of my NaNoWriMo novel, an epic fantasy entitled To Look Skyward. The premise: In a massive city built on and between two mountain ridges, the upper (literally) class oppresses the lower class, and through a magic that allows mind control based on elevation, has forced the lower class into virtual slavery. I'll let the rest of the book speak for itself. I've never tried this before, but I thought it might be cool, instead of uploading a file, giving a link to the Google Doc version of my chapter, in which you can make suggestions directly in the text that I can later correct. Mostly, I am looking for emotional reactions to things, such as "this part is cool" or "this joke wasn't very funny". Stuff like that. Not really grammar stuff, though if you find that go ahead and give me a heads up. Thank you so much and I hope you enjoy! https://docs.google.com/document/d/15y5ChcUzzbgIk9aU5KviFTyAXzrXQcN8BsfHwX7ORWI/edit?usp=sharing

When one is going for a more realistic effect when drawing mountains, is it considered more effective to use a gradient feature? In my original map, I actually draw mountains like points, that taper off semi-circularly. But when I did my elevator map (ground elevation other than mountains) I ended up creating a sort of gradient feature that a separate between low altitude to highest altitude with a color scale. (So darker shades would be the highest mountains, while lighter shades would be lower elevations. It wasn't really intentional, but I ended up drawing a large mountain partially blocking access to the castle on the map. (In the original, elevation didn't really come into the picture. It was flat.)
