  1. Recently I have been rereading the mistborn series. This prompted me to realize that there are a decent few things that I don't understand. For the most part this is all Era 1 stuff. Specifically 3 things. 1.) What makes ruin/harmony able to talk in someone's mind? I was under the impression that in order for ruin to talk/manipulate someone, they had to have a sufficiently damaged spiritweb. This could come from people who have had a truly rough go of it, or hemalurgic spikes. As far as I was aware, the spike had to be hemalurgically charged. But in WoA, Marsh uses Sazed's rings as weapons, pushing them into Sazed. This nearly kills him, but he hears a voice that reminds him that those rings are metal minds. I assumed this voice was ruin, since ruin is the only one who could actually do that. So, does it have to be a spike? Or is it really just anyone pierced by metal? 2.) The atium plan. This one I think is the most easily explainable, I just don't get it. The lord ruler's plan with the atium was to sequester a massive supply, effectively keeping a chunk of ruin's power away from him, slightly weakening him enough to level the playing field between him and preservation. But then, elend and his seers burned all of that atium, which enraged ruin because he couldn't have done it himself. This leads me to believe that the process of burning the atium actively converts the investiture into energy, which permanently weakens ruin. So, then, why even stockpile it? Why not just burn it all? The simple answer that makes the most sense to me is that by burning the atium, the power becomes "dispersed" and needs time to "coalesce". Which would make burning all that atium a significant postponing to ruin's plans, but burning it piecewise as it formed wouldn't be useful. 3.) I left this for last because it's the one I'm least confident that we even have an answer for. Why is metal the thing that is easiest to push and pull on? It's obviously not because if it's connection to allomancy. You can push and pull on all metals regardless of if they are allomantic. And it doesn't have anything to do with preservation, since metals on other planets can be pushed and pulled on just fine. If hard stop, only metal could be pushed on, then I would be comfortable calling it "because leras said so". But anything *can* be pushed, it's just metals that are the easiest. But of course, metals aren't just the easiest, they are the easiest by far. So there's a pretty big divide between metal and everything else. I have a theory on this that I think answers a lot of these questions, but it has enough holes that I'm not confident enough to say it is definitely true. It's pretty cosmere connected though, so it's probably a discussion worth having there instead of here.
  2. We know that Kelsier is Thaidakar. That's what they call it in Roshar. Perhaps Thaidakar means Survivor in a Scadrial language, and from the point of view of the inhabitants of Roshar it is understood as Thaidakar, because it is an extraterrestrial word. Perhaps the origin of the name Thaidakar was already explained in Lost Metal, but I have not read it.
  3. As of late, my brain has been hyperfixated on feruchemy. It is probably my favorite MoI and it is the power I would choose to have if I had a choice. I was thinking about feruchemy in general and I started thinking about cadmium. I remember seeing some people say that they didn't see the use in the power, but after some consideration I believe that to be untrue. In the ars arcanum, cadmium is said to "store breath". The thing is that this definition is a bit vague, and that's probably just because it's meant to sound more mystical. I think more directly, it stores oxygen, which would line up with the examples provided of its use. If this is true and my understanding of metabolism is correct, this power is actually really useful in a variety of situations. First thing's first, your stamina gets an effective boost if you tap enough breath. Even using proper breathing techniques, your body goes into oxygen dept as you engage in rigorous work. If you tap breath, but not too much, you can give your body all the air it needs while you run a marathon or do exercise, which should have an obvious advantage. Of course, your muscles would still get sore and you would still run out of energy since oxygen isn't the only resource needed to make ATP. Taking smaller hits of oxygen could also give small boosts to mental and physical processes. I did a cursory google search to verify if taking breaths of increased oxygen improved performance in any way, and the results were conflicting. Logically though, if you have more precise control over how much oxygen is entering your blood stream, you should be able to temporarily boost energy production in your cells and gain a small boost. There are a few caveats to this power if it does work in this way. The first thing is hyperventilation. If you tap too much oxygen at once you could start damaging your body, which is not a usual concern with feruchemical powers. This does make it easier to store in the long run I believe. Because its usage would be limited to shorter bursts or sustained burns, you wouldn't really have any situations where you'd use up all of your breath in a big burst or something, since your body can only use so much oxygen. This is, however, balanced somewhat by its dangerous storage method, requiring the user to breathe extra hard to get enough air. Then on top of all this, cadmium is an expensive and dangerous metal. I don't know how one would exactly prevent cadmium poisoning if you'd have to make contact with it as much as a feruchemist would, but I'm sure the Scandians have developed something to by pass this glaring issue. All in all, this power isn't too bad, although it is more on the dangerous side. I think my understanding of metabolism is pretty good, but also I haven't had a biology class in 3 years, so I probably definitely have something wrong. That's it for now.

  6. "The new sheriff? Yes, I've heard of her, I've never seen her in action, no one has. She works during the night, but believe me, she is not silent at all, she behaves like one of those mistborn of yesteryear, some rumor that she is. Just pray that your head isn't worth the coins she would spend to get to you." 7. So I was scrolling through the forums yesterday when I saw a topic discussing what the most useful twinborn combination would be in the modern day. After thinking about it I decided that F-Zinc would be my preferred Feruchemical power, and I realized that F-Zinc has been heavily underutilized. Mental speed is an amazing power for basically any situation, whether it be scholarship, combat, politics, sports, basically anything that takes a brain, which is most things. I imagine compounded zinc would have a similar effect of atium, not seeing the future, but being able to take in and calculate everything around you so fast that you can anticipate everything that's about to happen. Combined with rioting I think it could make for someone particularly threatening. I really want to see F-Zinc be utilized more in the future because it really is just an awesome power, and I can't stop thinking about the possibilities of compouned zinc.

  9. I've been rereading Mistborn and some of the things that steel inquisitors do make me giggle. Specifically I remember thinking it was a little funny that they had a whole celebration after converting Marsh. Mind you they were dismembering people but I just thought a bunch of these monsters rejoicing like this was funny. I also think the fact that they have to sleep so much is a bit funny. Like one guy can return from slaughtering a whole family, but then he has to go to bed because he sweepy. Uh please don't think I'm psychotic or something I just saw a bit of humor in how unapologetically evil these guys are.
  10. Wendarr cracked his door open to peer onto the street, which was enshrouded by the Deepness despite the early hour. The road was empty as far as he could see, evidence of the violent sickness that had overtaken some who ventured out at night. Despite his own fear, the whispers in Wendarr’s head had grown louder over the recent weeks, until he could no longer resist them. Burn! Destroy the town! Kill! He shook his head, returning to the present. Surely only the divine could speak into the mind of a person directly. Wendarr stepped out onto the street, flinching as his stomach rumbled. He glanced furtively around again despite the poor visibility of the early evening. The guiding voice had no advice on staying fed, and last year’s harvest had been the worst in the history of the Copper’s Bend. Folk had only survived by trading their ore with Alendi’s passing army, but those supplies were strictly rationed, so nearly everyone was hungry these days. Wendarr made his way toward the harbor, any noises muffled by the cloak of mist coating the world. *Smack* Lost in thought, Wendarr rounded a final corner and ploughed head-on into someone passing the other way. Kill him! Reacting instinctively, Wendarr reached to his belt and unsheathed a knife. The other person, face still indistinct, had stumbled backward, but seeing drawn steel pulled his own weapon, a sword. Wendarr’s own arm, strengthened both by his time in the mines and the urging of the voice, drove his knife above the man’s guard and into his neck. At the same time, he felt a horrendous shock through his chest. His opponent’s sword had run him all the way through. Wendarr staggered back, finally recognizing the swordsman as Mick, one of the town guards. The two locked eyes, then each toppled to the ground, their blood running over the already damp cobbles. As his vision faded into darkness, the voice echoed again through Wendarr’s head, exultant this time. KILL! Arwhin, mayor of Copper’s Bend, stood over the bodies of Wendarr and Mick, mixed feelings of sadness and relief reflecting across his face. He finally had the beginnings of an answer to the recent streak of disappearances. Still, Wendarr alone could not account for all the troubles plaguing his town. He nudged the dead man’s body with his boot, and a glimmer of light reflected off some metal through a tear in Wendarr’s shirt. Leaning down, Arwhin saw that a spike of steel was embedded in the man’s ribs. Arwhin frowned, and with a little effort ripped the bit of metal out, turning it over in his hand. Strange indeed. But he would consider any clues that could help them survive until Alendi reached the Well of Ascension. Welcome to the village of Copper’s Bend! LG ##: A Tale of Mists and Metal occurs on Scadrial prior to the ascension of Rashek to Lord Ruler. The mists last long into the day in your village, and strange deaths have been occurring at night. 11. Sorry for the odd title, I'm not sure what else to call it. As I'm sure you're all aware, there are specific metals that have effects on investiture, and I don't just mean for the metallic arts. Aluminum has shown up multiple times and seems to have investiture negating powers in each appearance. allomantic metals have uses in Rosharan fabrials, and silver seems to have interactions with investiture despite the fact that it has no allomantic properties. All god metals are investiture active for obvious reasons. My question is just how much do we know about which metals interact with investiture. All metals are condensed power as described in HoA, but I don't know much about it past that. Even though I'm supposed to be up to date in the cosmere for the most part, it feels like there's still so much that I don't know. If you know anything about this, share your thoughts and whatnot, and thank you.
  12. So, I just watched(listened to?) the SP4 shardcast, and the discussion has me thinking about cosmere space travel, and how it will work. first off, its hard for me to imagine that any merchant, military, or travel in general, would opt for the danger of the voids of space, lightyears of travel, over what takes a few months to walk in shadesmar. but then that got me thinking about what shadesmar really is. As far as I understand it, shadesmar is a reflection of the collective cognitive view of the world, sort of inverted or abstracted in some ways. right now, the common knowledge of the regular people of the cosmere, not our min charcters but the normal citzens, doesn't entirely understand space and planets as a concepts yet. and, I think notably, we haven't seen shadesmar in any of the storys where they do. the general concept is that if you walk far enough in a direction, you'll get to a location. oceans are also a concept, a barrier to that physical travel, and their raw concept is also included in pretty much every place in shadesmar we have seen. so, I guess what I'm asking, is do we think it's possible, that once the majority of the cosmere understands space travel, that shadesmar will start to reflect that in its physical reflection of the world? and while i think, even if this did occur, the "space" in shadesmar wouldn't reflect the same distance as the physical world, it would explain why they would need to start using space travel instead of some elsecalling connection perpindicularty shenanigens. and i know that its hard to get between realms, but its also really hard to travel between solar systems. even with any kind of time dilation bullcrap they could pull, shadesmar, in the way it is right now, would be to convenient a avenue to not explore, and attempt to find easy ways to travel to and from the physical plane in any location. my second question is, propulsion. we have seen a few spaceships now, but we really don't know how they work, because the pov's we see them from are for the most part from a distance. do we expect several types of space travel, for each culture, or one type of fuel, some sort of pure raw investiture? I could see some sort of engine based of steel pushing or iron pulling labor to generate energy, or them doing some electromagnet propulision, and on the rosharan side, I'm sure there re some conection or elsecalling, maybe even fabrial stuff that they base everything off of, because i can't imagine lashings work efficiently when there's no gravity to redirect. elantris side (can't remember the planet name) will almost certainly go the raw investiture route, and awakening can really do some crazy things so i can imagine them being self sufficient. I kinda wanna steer clear of space fight discussion because... that is just a whole other beast entirely, but im really curious to hear other poeples thoughts on this cus i don't hear it talked about often
  13. Hello, this is a quick thread about curiosity basically. We know that to become an allomancer, you swallow a load of metals and, at least BC, beat to an inch of your life to make you Snap. Then you burn the metals. Harmony changed how Snapping works because he didn’t like it, so how does one find out they’re a Allomancer? Is it institutional, where kids in school are given metals to try and burn? And how about Feruchemy. Assuming it doesn’t require any form of Snap, how does one discover they’re one? Do you just stop by the Village and the Terris people give you some minds to hold? How do you find out you’re metal born?
  14. I know posts like this have been made before but I haven't seen anyone suggest this order which I think is a crime considering how well it fits. Vin is a Stoneward. Her whole deal in Well of Ascension is about accepting that she's an assassin, the sword of the new empire. Her personal struggle is about her having to accept that she is more than her duty as a Mistborn. Like, she's not zealous about it, but Stoneward just fits, especially in HoA when she has accepted both parts of herself and trying to save the world. There's even this bit in HoA where the Tolkien guy is asking if she'll live up to the legends and turn the sun yellow again and she says that she has to try. "I will stand when others fall" that's an oath that we don't know which order it belongs to for sure, but most agree that it's Stoneward. That is literally the climax of the Final empire Kelsier falls and Vin has to stand. Speaking of, Kelsier is a Willshaper Elend is a Bondsmith Sazed is a truthwatcher
  15. MR62: In The Shadow of Ash Creston was not the smallest village this side of Mount Kalling, though perhaps the most remote. Varloux had grown used to the seclusion. Creston was nestled deep within the northern forest and it huddled under the gaze of the ashmount. A young village building itself up in a remote location. In spite of its natural barriers to growth, Creston was growing more and more every year. Varloux wouldn't complain about the influx of residents. As far as he was concerned, that part was just good for business. A tavern keeper had to make a living somehow! "I bet yer having a grand time, yeh?" Old Ged said. Varloux just kept his mouth shut and head down while he poured another drink. Hopefully Ged's last for the night. While Ged had been coming to Varloux's inn longer than Varloux had owned it, probably longer than Varloux had even been alive, the man would drink him dry if given the opportunity. Varloux tried his best to limit Ged's consumption. Everyone did. The whole town knew about Ged's drinking problem and was very fastidious about keeping him sober. Well, as sober as possible. "Yeah," Mern said, "everyone's fleeing and running and scattering, what with that latest skaa rebellion, The Lord Ruler curse those fools, Varloux should be making quite the living." Varloux didn't get the chance to rebuke before Trennis, Mern's husband, spoke up. "For what it's worth, I heard the rebellion got crushed pretty strongly." "Not if the latest news from Luthadel is worth anything," Mern said. Varloux perked up at that. As discretely as he could of course while he poured more drinks for the rest of the table. "Mern, you know as well as I do-" "No, let your lady speak, I say," Ged said. Even at the ripe old age of 64, Ged still liked gossip more than the average skaa woman. "My sister from Urteau managed to sneak her way over here. She says that everything is falling apart. There were riots from other skaa in the whole city. There was talk of the Survivor. Of the Pits. Of the Lord Ruler's death!" Every word was louder than the last. Varloux glanced around nervously as other patrons heard what Mern said. Maybe it was time to steer the conversation away from such topics. Best to keep his guests happy. The alcohol (and money) flowed better that way. "Mern, you know that's just rumors. You of all people should know better than that," Varloux said. Perhaps his first words of the night. He couldn't remember. "You mean to say that I shouldn't trust the words of my own sister?" "Well, I didn't say that-" "How dare you insult my wife like that!" Trennis seemed to be growing redder by the second. "I would never," Varloux said, backing ever-so-slightly away from the table. "I was just making a suggestion. We don't want to cause panic. I am sure everything will turn out okay." Varloux didn't wait to see if his platitudes would calm their nerves. He simply walked away. Sometimes he wondered how he managed to keep his cool around people. Especially with his secret. ~ Wandwy did not particularly like hiding. Her years of training as a Terris steward had prepared her for a life where she would be ever-present, yet out of the way. Comfortably seen and noticed, but never brushed aside or hidden away like a common skaa servant. Her training a Keeper, one of the few living feruchemists of his time, however, had been...difficult, to say the least. But at least she only had to hide one aspect of herself. The most dangerous one. That was simply basic self-preservation. Being forced to hide away in the attic of an inn while her only encounter with the outside world came from her benefactor bringing her food was not ideal. Yes, she did have a large collection of books to read. And the attic was quite spacious for, well, an attic. And the bed was quite comfy. And the stout innkeeper (Venlen? Varlen? Veloux? She could hardly remember) had even brought up his finest bed for her. That was only to be expected, of course. Unfortunately, none of these accommodations befitted one of her station. It was downright indecency. Recent situations, however, had proven these precautions necessary. Wandwy tried to return to her reading. This was a long-lost copy of Tomen's Building an Empire, a relatively thorough accounting of the founding of the Final Empire. Her current task was to memorize and add it to her collection of copperminds. Despite the exciting nature of the book's contents, it was quite a boring read. Though what else was she supposed to do while hiding away to protect her life? Unfortunately, she once again lost track of where she was on the page she had been memorizing. Curse those stupid Inquisitors. How was she supposed to focus if images came unbidden to her? Flashes of horrible brutality. Of monstrous creatures, spikes driven through their eyes. Was she not supposed to have extreme control over her emotions? Over her thoughts and memories? She briefly considered storing away those memories. Hiding away the terrible images of the slaughter and blood and gore and the destruction of Tathingdwen. Her home. Wandwy shook her head. As far as she knew, the rest of the order of Keepers was dead. The least she could do was keep a true memory of them. And hide. And wait. Praying to whichever gods she could think of that she would survive. With a newfound sense of urgency, and a desire to forget her situation, she returned to her reading. Surely she had finally lost the trail of the Inquisitors now, right? ~ In the deep of the night, a man and woman ran for their lives. The roots of the trees, the leaves scattered beneath their feet, and the bumps of the ground strove to trip them. To bring them down to the earth, to whence they came. Death itself chased them. Further and further into the darkness of the forest. One step. Two. Three. Trip. The Inquisitor was upon them in moments. Blood and screams. Screams from the victim. Screams from the witness. Screams from the Inquisitor. Screams of death and fear and joy. The joy of killing and death and destruction. Ruin had arrived. And with it, his first pawn. Welcome to MR62: In The Shadow of Ash! I so am excited to run my first game in almost a year or so. I think LG83 was my last game, so it feels good to be back! My IM for this game will be @Devotary of Spontaneity, who you can reach out to if you have any concerns about the game or if there's any problems that come up between players. As always, I will be posting the rules into the thread itself, but no promises on the quality of the formatting. I would highly recommend reading the rules here, where the formatting is all nice and pretty! (Plus the rules doc will likely be updated as needed more often than this post) Signups will end on February 20th at 10 pm CST. The game itself will start as soon as I can get the post ready and all the PMs sent out. Rollover should take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour each time. If anyone wants to co-GM this game, that would be greatly appreciated! I don't mind if this is your first time co-GMing or your 50th time! Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I'm more than willing to help give back to new GMs by helping them co-GM for the first time. If you are interested in co-GMing, please send me a PM on the Shard or DM me on Discord. I'll get to a Discord DM much faster, so just keep that in mind. Anyway, enough chit chat, here's the stuff you actually care about! Rules: Rule Clarifications: Participants: Quick Links: I'm sure this game is a breath of fresh air after the current LG. At least the rules are. Perhaps not the story....
  16. In advance I'd like to apologise for very long post and for mistakes. English is not my 1st langauge. Also couple of things to clarify at the begining: - I'm a huge fan of Cosmere universe and books and read most of them. - I'll be using some comparision to Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson and Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. After finishing Lost Metal last week I have quite a lot of worries when it comes to future of Cosmere books and how to approach them. Not to mention that LM is 2nd book after Rythm of War that makes it difficult for me to recommend the series to new readers. That's also quite the irony because on the surface Cosmere books are easy recommendation - Not only writing is, as usual, fantastic (that being said - exposition dumps in LM were... overwhelming at some points) but also, I honestly don't know if I love or dislike the "new" approach that B. Sanderson have to his books. On personal level I find it hilarious how I can't decide between the two. So why the negative? And why am I worried? I started my adventure with B. Sanderson books with the Way of Kings. Then I picked up it's sequels, Mistborn and finally shorter novels and older books as well. After reading tWoK I also read some insights into Cosmere and I found it really interesing how B.S decided to create separate stories while at the same time keeping some level of connectivity via shared universe. It reminded me of Terry Pratchett's approach. An author who made a canvas for himself by designing entire world to keep a level of cohesiveness and some loose connections but at the same time made sure that stories within the books don't require in-depth knowlage about entire universe. It made it so each book (or series) could be as good as possible - escaping the issue with share universes where the best is kept for the last - but it also gave long time readers some easter eggs and connections. Best of both worlds. But then Mistborn era 2 and Rythm of War happened... And Cosmere-level of knowlage started to feel like necessity rather than addition. Especially Lost Metal and Rythm of War. I know that some folks disagree and I saw argument that you can still make sense about what's going on without knowlage from other series. Or how Marasi in LM serves as readers avatar and we learn things throught her eyes as we go. Well partially I can see that argument being valid. But it's mostly becasue B. Sanderson is skilled writer not because it's good idea IMO. What I mean by that is that exposition dumps are MASSIVE in LM. We are being fed huge amount of Cosmere lore. We're introduced to brand new planets, new magic concepts, new characters, new powers and so much more. And even tho it's all written well (that's the skill) it's still overwhelming and feels like trying to bite more than the book can chew. And for the 1st time reading B. Sanderson book - I felt that main plot suffered a lot because of it. It lost quite a lot of it's focus that I usually find in his books. The worst thing being - The ending. Instead of feeling like proper closure - In the same way Mistborn era 1 felt. I was left with loose ends that I know will be continued in some way in Mistborn era 3... and Stormlight (among other cosmere books). With Stormlight I'm starting to have similar feelings. Thankfully it's still the more focused series, more interested in it's own story but RoW already was a book in which I knew I'd be missing quite a lot if I haven't read other Cosmere books. Like Kelsier/ghostbloods connection. Again - Some people argued against that but this time I can't see this being valid argument. Imagining not knowing who Kelsier was in context of Stormlight opened my eyes to the problem I'm writing about in this post. I would be missing HUGE amout of potential consequences that might happen in the future books. So - What's the real problem I have? Well let's start with quality of each book. I love B. Sanderson books. I'm always waiting like crazy for new ones, tWoK is one of my favorite books of all time etc. That being said LM was, IMO, one of his weakest books overall and weakest book in the "main" series (Mistborn/Stormlight/Elantris) for the resons I mentioned before - Instead of feeling like a proper closure where author "gave it all" it felt like exposition dump with the best "yet to come". Like one of those Marvel movies before Avengers. Holding back because all budget will to the grand finale. Another problem I have is focus. Stormlight especially was very focused series for the first 2 books. It was dealing with gods, heroes, magic etc. - Sure, but even knowing about Cosmere it always felt like Stormlight is more interested in it's own conflict between protagonists and Odium. Now tho - It also starts to feel like preparation for more cosmic-scale of event with Mistborn and Stormligh coliding in near future. It's especially problematic in LM - There were some points of the book where I could almost see B. Sanderson being more interested in introducing new magic system knowing he'll use it in other book series instead of focusing on the main story. That was... Not good. Then there's complexity. I read Malazan Book of the Fallen multiple times. A series that's famous for it's complexity and depth. It's also perfect example of complexity done right. It requires a LOT of attention but it never feel disjointed or forced. It also counts on readers attention and not on dumping massive amount of info without context expecting reader to just "rememer it all" I don't have that feeling with recent Cosmere books. LM and RoW feel different than previous B. Sanderson books. Almost like he previously wanted to have more separate stories with some loose connections to Cosmere but at some point he decided "actually, I do want a full on crossovers and cosmic level of events between them all!" I don't know if that's true of course. I just get that feeling from his recent books. And finally - Recommendations. Couple years ago if anyone would ask me about book recommendation I'd easly say "anything from B. Sanderson!" but now... I'm reluctant to do so. Instead of "pick up any series and have time of your life!" it became "pick up any series... and then another series... and then a shorter novela" and I find it difficult to honestly say to folks to read all those books knowing just how massive commitment it is. To close this of. The irony - The irony is that like I said at the begining. I don't know if I like it or not. On one hand I love the books, writing, characters and lore. I'm exited for each new book and I'm invested in what's gonna happen next. On the other - I miss the focus and "giving it all" in each series instead of dumping massive amout of information "for the future". Anyway - I know this is the new reality of Cosmere books and my post won't change a thing. I just don't have anyone to share my thoughts with so I hope it's okay to write post this long in here. I do apologise for it's length. Worst case scenario - Use it as a perfect way to go to sleep;)
  17. This appears to be a metalmind that takes medalliontech a step by making tapping the metalmind obligatory. It's not just that you *can* tap the metalmind, you have to. Normally, tapping a metalmind requires intent, which is why when Wax had the memory coin he couldn't even tap it until he knew what it was. So this is weird! Do we have any speculation as to how this might be done? Is it even a metalmind like I think? I have thoughts that it might involve F!Electrum, but that's obviously highly speculative so I'm curious if anyone has other thoughts.
  18. A Hemalurgist character that I came up with for the Mistborn setting. He never charges spikes from unwilling people- only willing donors when the need really arises (also takes spikes from other (morally bankrupt) Hemalurgists or uses himself as the donor for spikes- which he then patches up with Feruchemical gold. Ouch).
  19. So like the sun was just rising over the pits of hathsin . That means that the half the Western Dominance and all of the southern and farmost Dominances as well as the southern isles were still in the night . Millions of PPL must have lived there . Did sazed accidentally kill them all while remaking the world. I'm pretty sure it's mentioned somewhere, may e in a wob that only the PPL in the caverns survived.
  20. Sooo I searcher long and hard but I couldn’t find many Mistborn quizzes at all, and the ones I did find contained questions like “what is your favourite colour” and other such… random questions to determine which character a person is like?? I was quite fed up and I decided to make my own quiz, with situations and other questions that are more useful for a determination like this, I guess? Anyways, here it is! I hope it’s fun to answer and maybe the results will be more accurate I would appreciate it if you took the quiz and gave me suggestions as to how I can improve it! Which Mistborn Era 1 Character would you be?
  21. I've really only seen Vax and Senna both appear in Secret History and was wondering if we knew anything more than that?
  22. Hey guys, I've been working for a while now on the prototype for The Children of Preservation, a Mistborn themed 2D Platformer. It started as a fan tribute to Mistborn, I wanted to learn Unity with a cool project. But the first version had a good response from the community (I shared it mostly on Facebook groups). So I worked to make the prototype a bit more immersive, added more metals to burn, and other features like Hemalurgy. Before you try it out, I want to make sure you know a few things. 1 Everything needs to be polished. 2 I made custom artwork for the prototype so it was more immersive, but I'm no designer. The artwork would improve for a full version of the game. 3 I appreciate any feedback. Please don't hold back any notes. Those will be really helpful if there's a full version of the game. You can download the prototype for free here: https://dnxgaming.itch.io/the-children-of-preservation You can also take a look at the short teaser I made: Sadly, I don't have the resources to make a full version of the game on my own. I would need either a crowdfunding campaign or a publisher to get the right people and amount of time to develop it. In order to get that I would need a license. Which is not going to be easy. So, I'm asking for the support of the community to give the concept some momentum. If you want to see a full version of The Children of Preservation with awesome graphics and polished mechanics please drop a review at Itch.io or like the Facebook Page. Thanks!
  23. Death and the Survivor 1: (Mild RoW spoilers) If people like this I’ll make more strips. Probably unconsciously inspired by Calvin and Hobbes.
  24. Greetings, fellow Rioters. If you burn zinc to influence others' emotions, this is the place for you to discuss tricks of the trade, highs, lows, etc. Remember it's bad form to use allomancy on fellow rioters here, so none of that unless both parties are fine with it. Let's try to get as many rioters here as possible. GjornHrathen
  25. This topic is simply to talk about criticisms or thing you think Brandon Sanderson could have done better in the Mistborn saga. This includes Era 1, Era 2, and Secret History. No Cosmere spoilers if you can help it, but if it helps your point then go ahead.
