  1. Today the Mistborn Adventure Game's Alloy of Law supplement is out now in both digital and print editions. There's an original story from Brandon, and an overview of the people and society of the remade Scadrial, with "information not seen in the novel." Seems pretty great! You can download sample heroes here, and we'll give you an in-depth look at it later this week!
  2. I have seen that the new Terris sourcebook for the Mistborn Adventure Game is available in digital format on Drive Thru RPG. Has anyone heard if a print or print on demand edition is going to be released? I'd hate to waste money on some PDF if a real book is going to be available at some point.
  3. So we have been playing several campaigns of the Mistborn Adventure Game over at steelministry.com, and one of the ones I have been narrating jut came to an end. Kurkistan came up for the idea for the campaign, and described it thusly: "Scenario: The Narrator controls TLR, who knowledgeable sources have succinctly described as "a thousand year old, expert-[near]savant-Lerasium-Twinawesome-Sliver." However many people as possible comprise a group who are, at adventure's beginning, mere moments away from executing an assassination attempt on TLR. A handful of beats later, the entire crew is dead. And thus the adventure concludes." We wanted it to be quick and messy, which it was, albeit if only by play-by-post standards. It took a little over 6 months to complete. We titled the game "Futile Efforts." Anyway, as I was narrating, Lord Claincy Ffnord liked my write ups so much he started compiling all the narration into one place, which can be found here: http://www.steelministry.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=518 It makes for a fun and exciting little story, as long as you don't mind the choppy narration from switching from one viewpoint to the next so frequently, as well as a few tense-change inconsistencies. Now that it's all done, Claincy suggested that I post it in here, so here you go. Enjoy everyone!
  4. Crafty Games has revealed what the first supplement to the Mistborn Adventure Game will be: Terris: Wrought of Copper. We at 17th Shard had thought its next supplement would be an Alloy of Law-era one, but this is not the case. That doesn't mean we aren't excited--to the contrary! Crafty Games has worked with Brandon to develop material that provides a detailed look at the Terris Dominance and its people, which is definitely not something we saw much of in the original trilogy. Other than that, details on the supplement are scarce, but Crafty Games will be having three Google+ Hangouts where they will reveal more, and the first one is actually tomorrow: will be an overview discussing "what players, Narrators and fans can expect to find in this book." will discuss the Rules as well as "all-new insights into the awesome power of Feruchemy." will discuss "adventuring in the Terris Dominance."We'll keep you posted on what is revealed at these Hangouts, so stay tuned, but definitely go watch them if you have time! In unrelated Mistborn news, the film rights to Mistborn have lapsed last week. Paloppa Pictures had owned the rights, and Brandon says they were wonderful to work with. In fact, news on the Mistborn film over the years had been immensely positive, with Brandon saying he liked Paloppa's progress and their screenplay a lot. However, they were unable to get the film into motion. As such, Paloppa's rights have lapsed, so theoretically, they could be sold to someone else. It's sad we can't see Paloppa's good vision for Mistborn on the big screen, but with the rights available again, we could see a production actually start eventually. On Brandon's blog, he says any offer for the Mistborn film rights would need to be "very serious" in order for them to consider it. But, you know, if your uncle is J.J. Abrams or something and you love Mistborn, get your people to contact Joel Gotler at Intellectual Property Group. Wow. That sounded way too official for 17th Shard... Thanks WeiryWriter for your contributions to this article! Cover illustration for Terris: Wrought of Copper by Tommy Arnold.
  5. Hey, if anyone is interested, we recently finished a mini-campaign over at steelministry.com titled Futile Efforts. Basically it consisted of the crew trying to assassinate The Lord Ruler. Anyway, Lord Claincy Ffnord compiled all of the narration into one thread, and cut out all of the dice rolls and OOC stuff, for easy reading. If you're interested in reading it, more info can be found here: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6356-futile-efforts-match-1/?p=103519#entry103519
  6. Hey everyone! KChan, Rubix, and I all interviewed Crafty Games, the creators of the Mistborn Adventure Game, about two weeks ago, and here it is! We blab with Alex Flagg, lead developer for Mistborn, and Patrick Kapera, the lead editor and marketing dude (also God King Emperor of Happy Happy Fun Time). And it was so much fun. We get a ton of information about the Mistborn Adventure Game. We hear Crafty Games' design philosophy, the mechanics, and essentially everything. We learn some very astonishing things about Feruchemy--Spiritual freaking metals--and we learn that there will actually be annotations in it, by Brandon, commenting about the book! How awesome is that? Also, we make fun of Somalia. (Sorry, Somalians in the audience.) All in all, we had a blast with Alex and Pat. They are genuinely nice dudes, so have a listen, enjoy, and buy a copy of the Mistborn Adventure Game, because we think it will be awesome. Just a note, in the interview, they say that the game will be out October 25th, but it will in fact be out November 8th, the same day as the Alloy of Law.
