So, here's what we know about the Shard Mercy: They fought with Odium and Ambition Mercy "worries" Sazed/Harmony. Originally, when I read about Mercy's part in the fight between Odium and Ambition, I had originally assumed that they had been defending Uli Da from Odium, as Odium is a serial killer and the prime antagonist of the Stormlight Archive, whereas Mercy has exclusively good connotations. However, some time ago, it was brought to my attention that Mercy could have been fighting with Odium, against Ambition. Their role in the fight is left ambiguous, so it could definitely be possible, especially given that at least Endowment has an extreme dislike of Uli Da, and Odium generally targeted Shards he could argue had broken the rules of their pact or were otherwise disliked. In that context, Sazed's "Mercy worries me" becomes far more ominous. Has Mercy settled on a more Taravangian-esque "I'll save them all" type of plan of action?

This has been brought up before at least in part, but anyone a bit disturbed by the connotation that is given when something is claimed to be a mercy in the Cosmere? Harmony was worried by Mercy and I am too. Ruin calling killing Preservation a mercy Sadeas attempting to kill Dalinar and called it a mercy Granite Joe calling killing Wax a mercy Moash wanting Kaladin dead considered a mercy I know a few Sharders have the Cosmere in a searchable format. If you're willing to indulge me, other than Mercystar (who had command of 10,000 Lifeless), what usages of "mercy" are there in the Cosmere? How consistent is this idea that killing someone weak, injured, out of place, old, or depressed is somehow a mercy in the Cosmere? We know that Hemalurgy can be used anywhere without needing physical proximity to Ruin or Harmony, so it seems possible that there are Shards that have influence outside of their known system. I don't really have a specific direction with this, and Brandon will probably RAFO everything to with Mercy, but I thought I'd mention it, since some 17th Sharders have way more knowledge about the Shards than I do and there may be information available that I haven't heard. There's even been talk that Mercy either assisted in killing Ambition or did so directly after Ambition was injured. Thoughts? Could Mercy have spared Uli Da while splintering Ambition? I think it is in line with Mercy's intent and a logical guess with the minimal information that we have. Ambition is separate from Uli Da and I think that it could be shattered while. Also could Uli Da being Fain mean that The Evil is Fainlife created from a piece of her? --This was a discussion from 2017 that got closed and I want to re-discuss. Honestly, I want to discuss anything vaguely Threnody--Shard--Cosmere related...

Ok, so in RoW we learn about the shard Mercy. Well, what if Moash becomes Mercy. I have evidence that this is possible. Maybe. Go to chapter 8. Moash is talking to Kaladin, and he says "For mercy. Better a quick death than to leave them to die, forgotten." Now, go to interlude 4. Moash is talking to Odium. Odium says "I would claim this one, as I have claimed you" (he's talking about Kaladin), and then it says "Vyre would see him dead first. A mercy." I really don't want to see this happen. Ever. If anyone can see a problem with my theory, please post it.
